Love getting my pets' birthday cakes here! They have tons of options for both cats and dogs. I also grabbed a toy for my cats and they're obsessed--it's perfect for keeping them curious and entertained. So many treats to choose from too. I recommend this place to everyone!
Great spot with a nice variety of cat and dog products with lots of items you won't be able to find in a typical pet shop. I went in hoping to only buy 1 cupcake for my dog's birthday but unfortunately pre-made cupcakes only came in a pack of 6 for $36. Loree was really friendly and helpful but at times I felt her approach was a little pushy in regard to purchasing things. I also asked what the cupcakes are made of twice and she informed me it was "grain and dairy free." The next day I called and asked again and she gave me the same response. So I clarified my question and let her know I wanted to know what actual ingredients were in them because I wanted to know what I was giving my pets, and then she finallyyyy let me know, so that was a bit frustrating. She gave me a complimentary happy birthday cookie during my visit which was a nice touch. My pets enjoyed everything. The prices here are steep. I found out after that there are other shops that sell custom pet cakes for $20, a 4 pack of cupcakes for $8, 1 cupcake for $5. So unfortunately I probably won't be returning here due to the pricing alone but it's worth a visit if you're in the area!

In addition to toys they have cakes, cookies, specials, events, giveaways, party hats, animal food, and special themed products based off of the time of the year (Pride, holidays, seasonal items etc). They specialize in items for dogs and cats. Parking is impossible here. Because I'm usually in and out, I park at KFC across the street before it opens. So I typically get here early in the morning.
Stumbled upon this cute little shop while walking in North Park. It happened to be my dog's gotcha day the day before and I had wanted to get her a special treat. I saw that it was a dog bakery and decided to go in. It is a small store, but they have a good quality items (stuffed toys, puzzles, treats, food, and baked goods). I was attracted to the glass case full of beautifully decorated dog cookies and I figured I would get my dog one of those. The owner started a conversation with us and immediately suggested a cake, then proceeded to show us the designs she had available that day. The cakes are beautiful and shaped like a dog bone, made with human ingredients, and serve 4-6. My husband agreed to get the cake, although I had no idea what the cost would be. It turned out it was quite expensive (must've been at least $40-45), which is more than I spent on my kid's birthday cake, but alas I was already too far into the purchase. They wrote my dog's name on the cake and had it ready in about 5 minutes. The cake needed to be kept frozen and they offered to hold it for us while we went to lunch. I also bought some single ingredient freeze dried dog treats that my dog loves! She also loved the cake! The owner is definitely a salesperson and I can't fault her since it is her small business. She really tried to get me to purchase a number of things (and offered a 20% discount for the birthday club). I would've just left with a cookie or two and maybe some treats if she didn't really push the cake. The cake was just a bit expensive for me, but it is beautiful and my dog loved it. I would definitely go back to get some cookies or stuffed toys when she could use one because they appeared to be high quality.
I was out of town and totally forgot to put in an order, but I called and Loree was able to reserve us a cake for next day pick up. The cake is so cute! It came with a cookie and when you sign up for their birthday club, you'll be emailed a 20% off birthday coupon which we used towards her new toy. Thanks a bunch, you guys made our Kiki bear's day that much more special.
Shoutout original paw pleasers they helped create the most amazing custom cake for a friends dogs big day! It came out so good! Their customer service was the best and couldn't be more stoked trusting them with this job. Anyone looking for a custom photo cake id highly highly recommend! They absolutely crushed it/ they also have so many toys and treats and pet ice creams I can't believe how cool of a store this is!!
TREATS! It's a cute little shop off of University Avenue, can easily be missed. The staff are super welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I've only been here a short few times and every time leave with some kind of treat in hand for my dog. I want my dog to have the best things and try new things... because dogs do get bored of the same food and snacks. On special occasions, I like to treat my dog to yummy treats from dog bakeries. In her birthday, I always get her a cake (but not from this location) but maybe next birthday I'll try their cakes. On Valentine's Day, I never come home empty handed and do best to go out and shop for new things at new places. I came here and got her a cookie and dog ice cream. They packaged it up so cute. My dog loves opening up gifts and she was so thrilled. Another time I came in I bought her (non-alcoholic) Bowser Dog Beer. Okay it's not beer but it's dog "beer" full of glucosamine something my senior dog needs. I shop at many dog shops, big and small, and always have my go-to's for a specific item. This place is going to be my go-to for the Bowser Dog Beer!
We have frequented here a few times. Dog selection is huge. Cat selection is decent enough. Our cats absolutely love all of the toys we get from there. Staff is kind and helpful. I do feel like sometimes they push a bit too much with trying to get you to buy items. So I kinda have to go there knowing exactly what I want. Overall though I haven't had bad customer service from them. (I've found some stuff I didn't know my cats liked through them with their recommendations) Taking a star off for the cat cake. We got one for cats on her adoption day. The cake was on the expensive side and pretty huge (even for the smallest size.) One of our cats legit gagged from it. The staff is amazing and they have the best treats and custom cakes for your fur babies!! You can get the cakes made on the same day and get your pets name on it! They are grain free and yummy! They have amazing birthday hats and fun toys here too! Highly recommend this place!! My dogs were in heaven!
Response to owner: there were 3 people working from what I saw. One cashier, one girl wandering around, and you also back up cashier.... I declined the other cake bc I didn't want to wait any longer than I already had, unnecessarily. I never asked for anything. I made a comment about the shape & my disappointment. A good business owner or employee would/should never snap at a customer sharing their opinion about a product they paid for...
My boyfriend and I came here on a whim and were met with friendly and fast service! We wanted to get his dog a birthday cake and the staff was extremely helpful walking us through the ingredients, designs, and prep. I also thought the charCATerie board was so cute with its assortment of cat treats, however, it was a bit out of budget for the day. I absolutely love this cute little pet shop! It has such a great variety of options for both dogs and cats. The owner is such a pleasure to talk with and I love how everything she stocks in her store, she tried on her pets first. My dog has a sensitive stomach and he has not had any issues with food since I started buying from here! He loves everything from here and they just have the cutest things! While it is pricier than shopping at a big retail shop, the quality is out of this world! You cannot put a price on things like that for your fur babies. read more
I came in to get my dog a last minute birthday cake and they were so accommodating! They showed me which designs they had available and still let me customize with my dog's name even though i came in later in the day. They have a wide variety of items for all sorts of pets, and i walked out with my cake and a puzzle feeder for my dog, which i was offered a discount for. Such a cute store for dog and cat toys, beds, food trays, clothes, treats, ice cream, cakes, and cookies (yes, all edible for animals)! My dog loved his cookie and ice cream. We are definitely coming back for a birthday cake. You can even get custom designed ones! Their web site shows tons of examples. The employees/owner(s) are super friendly so feel free to ask questions; they seemed happy to answer! Overall good experience! They called me to confirm the cake I wanted and spelling of the name and were able to swap the design color when I changed my mind the next day. I went in ready to grab the cake and pick up some cookies. I will say they were quite pushy with trying to sell me toys and other things I didn't want, so be prepared for that. We did walk out with a few extra treats and things I didn't need, but my dog loved the cake and my cats loved the leftovers, so no complaints here. read more

I recently came to this store for my dogs birthday and they were able to make a birthday cake for my dog same day! They had many colors and decorations to choose from. I absolutely love this place! My Fur Baby Niko was turning 1.. so why not celebrate and get him a cake! Loree provided excellent customer service and the ordering process was easy. I decided to go with a picture cake for Niko. I also bought a few cookies, a couple of things for him to chew on and of course a squeaky toy! I didn't get the best pictures on his birthday because I think I wore him out at Dog Beach that day, but he loved the cake and really loved the cookies. The cake is plenty for a small dog party and even for left overs. Place in your freezer for up to a month. I tasted it, it's not bad. Kinda taste gingerbread-ish. The also have a full service grooming there too. I will definitely return! I think they have such a variety of treats and I received great recommendations from Loree for Niko! read more

You're greeted with an associate giving you hand sanitizer. You're also not allowed to touch anything and instead are accompanied with an associate around the store to handle your shopping. I came here to purchase a small 6 inch cake for my dogs birthday. I signed her up for the birthday club which gave her an annual 20% off any toy in the store. Sadly none of the dog toys were small enough for my 5 pound chorkie. Maybe I'll go back for a cat toy. The cake was very small for $40 but it was beautiful and my dog and her dog cousins loved it. The 6 inch dog shaped cake was about the length and width of my hand and I have a small hand as I only stand 5 feet tall. I was happy the owner gave me a printed diagram of how to slice the cake into 6 portions to not over feed the small dogs. I even got my dog the cutest silver tiara for $10. I highly recommend this small business for your doggie cake needs!!! read more

We love this place for our picky cat. He loves their freeze dried treats, catnip snakes and most of all the my fussy wet cat food. Our little Ned tends to eat something for a day and decide he doesn't like it the next time. My fussy cat food has eliminated the need to switch every two seconds. The owner is lovely, and always has a new recommendation or product to try. Thank you glad I tried this place!! read more
I have been ordering birthday cakes for my pup for years now and they never cease to amaze me! Not only are their cakes, cookies, ice cream, toys amazing, their customer service is superb. I stopped by this cute local dog bakery/shop while I was in San Diego with my dog to get her some cookies that I saw in the photos other Yelpers have shared. I forgot to take a photo of the cookie display, but I got a deer, fox, and bear decorated cookie. They're all the same price regardless of size and they're all the same flavor (pumpkin and cranberry). I think the price is generous especially for beautifully decorated cookies. Wuff! WUFF-WUFF! Arooo! Woof-Woof! Wuff!! WUFF WUFF!! Howl!!! I will translate for my biped friends from furry Sheltie: "Cookies!! Wonderful delicious cookies!! I would stop sniffing pee & butts just to eat these delightful, tasty Cookies all day, EVERY DAY!!" My Sheltie translation might be a bit off - I might of misinterpreted the pee part - but long after this doggie bakery has closed - and we are just walking by - he'll press his face against the glass like a Pixar character. These cookies are puppy-crack. Then there is the 'other' part of the store which has all sorts of toys, beds, and collars - but we never get further than the cookie display case. These folks are honestly so amazing! Unfortunately I don't remember the owners name but she is absolutely incredible, pleasant, and very patient. I totally forgot to get something for my puppies' birthday so I wasn't expecting anything to be available, but Paw Pleasers came through! I called at 2 p.m. and by 5 p.m. they had a beautiful cake ready for me. This boutique is small, but they have a ton of treats, toys, and temptations (for puppies). It's very clear that they take a special interest in their customers and their products. I'm not certain how the pricing is relative to other dog boutiques, but I paid $45 for a 9" beautifully decorated cake that is about 10-12 servings (for my two mini doxies). So, it is definitely a luxury, but given the quality of the decorations, and the ingredients, it seems reasonable. The toys were a little pricey, but they're clearly good quality and well made. The toys from bigger stores might be cheaper, but my little dogs rip through them in a second. They'll have these toys for a while. Overall I love this place. The owner made me feel so welcomed and appreciated. She was kind and genuine. I'll definitely be back! read more

Mine and husband's overall experience with this small business exceeded our expectations to say the least. In a frenzy, we realized he would not be able to celebrate our dog's birthday the following day so we called Paw Pleasers hoping they had a premade cake available. Danielle walked us through the whole process; she was kind, understanding, and had a good sense of what we wanted in such a short amount of time. It was $40 for a 9 in. cake. You get what you paid for, the quality is definitely there. Truly the best customer service I had ever experienced (especially as someone who worked in similar jobs). I came across this place perusing yelp for pup treats to commemorate my 1st valentine day with my puppy Maurice. I'm so glad I stopped. They have a lot of items for both dogs and cats ranging from food (wet/dry), toys and accessories as well as make their own cookies and custom cakes! They even put together a "bark-cuterie" box filled with an few hand selected items edible treats, probably for Valentine's Day, but I would double check. I don't see why they couldn't make a box for a birthday with notice? I ended up walking away with a bundle of cookies, a little nervous bc Maurice has a sensitive tummy, but I was reassured by the gal at the counter. I thought the cookies were a little hard, but he loved them! And no G.I. Issues! Worth the stop in! read more
Completely forgot it was our boys birthday and was looking for a dog bakery that could get us a cake the same day. Luckily, Paw Pleasers popped up on my search. I have them a call and they said they would be able to get us a cake same day, no problem. They took my order over the phone and were able to give me options and descriptions of the cakes they had available. We worked out a pick up time that worked for me. Once i got there to pick up the cake, they were so sweet in person, just like on the phone. They really love pets here! They have lots of toys and trays for your pets available for purchase in the store. I picked up the cake and they give you instructions for serving the cake and recommendations on how much to feed your pups. My babies loved the cake! The ingredients are human grade, so the humans cake partake in the fun too. The icing was my favorite. As for the dogs, everything was their favorite Make sure to sign your pup up for their birthday club! You get 20% off a toy and a birthday treat! They also do lots of themed cakes throughout the year. My other dogs birthday is May the 4th so we are looking forward to what they'll next next year! read more

The BEST local pet store! Laurie and Danielle are incredible, Quito (our pup) my boyfriend (Quito's dad) and I, all hold this place near and dear to our hearts and love what these two bring to the community. You can find awesome (and superb quality) dog and kitty toys, homemade treats, ice creams, accessories, everything dog/cat related all under one roof, that goes into your local community. What could be better? I initially found this place as I was looking for a cake to be made for my puppers 1st birthday, and he's had each of his bday cakes made here for the past 4 years straight. They do an AMAZING job every time. I used to have a special dog food that I fed Quito, and Laurie would get shipments of it every month specially ordered for us. The dedication Laurie has to customer service is the best I've ever experienced, ever. And it helps that she is such a special kind hearted soul to boot!
