I went in hoping to only buy 1 cupcake for my dog's birthday but unfortunately pre-made cupcakes only came in a pack of 6 for $36. Loree was really friendly and helpful but at times I felt her approach was a little pushy in regard to purchasing things. I also asked what the cupcakes are made of twice and she informed me it was "grain and dairy free." The next day I called and asked again and she gave me the same response. So I clarified my question and let her know I wanted to know what actual ingredients were in them because I wanted to know what I was giving my pets, and then she finallyyyy let me know, so that was a bit frustrating. She gave me a complimentary happy birthday cookie during my visit which was a nice touch. My pets enjoyed everything. The prices here are steep. I found out after that there are other shops that sell custom pet cakes for $20, a 4 pack of cupcakes for $8, 1 cupcake for $5. Stumbled upon this cute little shop while walking in North Park. It happened to be my dog's gotcha day the day before and I had wanted to get her a special treat. I saw that it was a dog bakery and decided to go in. It is a small store, but they have a good quality items (stuffed toys, puzzles, treats, food, and baked goods). I was attracted to the glass case full of beautifully decorated dog cookies and I figured I would get my dog one of those. The owner started a conversation with us and immediately suggested a cake, then proceeded to show us the designs she had available that day. The cakes are beautiful and shaped like a dog bone, made with human ingredients, and serve 4-6. My husband agreed to get the cake, although I had no idea what the cost would be. It turned out it was quite expensive (must've been at least $40-45), which is more than I spent on my kid's birthday cake, but alas I was already too far into the purchase. They wrote my dog's name on the cake and had it ready in about 5 minutes. The cake needed to be kept frozen and they offered to hold it for us while we went to lunch. I also bought some single ingredient freeze dried dog treats that my dog loves! She also loved the cake! The owner is definitely a salesperson and I can't fault her since it is her small business. She really tried to get me to purchase a number of things (and offered a 20% discount for the birthday club). I would've just left with a cookie or two and maybe some treats if she didn't really push the cake. The cake was just a bit expensive for me, but it is beautiful and my dog loved it. But she means well and is sweet. In addition to toys they have cakes, cookies, specials, events, giveaways, party hats, animal food, and special themed products based off of the time of the year (Pride, holidays, seasonal items etc). They specialize in items for dogs and cats. Parking is impossible here. Because I'm usually in and out, I park at KFC across the street before it opens. I decided to go with a picture cake for Niko. I also bought a few cookies, a couple of things for him to chew on and of course a squeaky toy! I didn't get the best pictures on his birthday because I think I wore him out at Dog Beach that day, but he loved the cake and really loved the cookies. I called at 2 p.m. and by 5 p.m. they had a beautiful cake ready for me. This boutique is small, but they have a ton of treats, toys, and temptations (for puppies). It's very clear that they take a special interest in their customers and their products. I'm not certain how the pricing is relative to other dog boutiques, but I paid $45 for a 9" beautifully decorated cake that is about 10-12 servings (for my two mini doxies). So, it is definitely a luxury, but given the quality of the decorations, and the ingredients, it seems reasonable. The toys were a little pricey, but they're clearly good quality and well made. The toys from bigger stores might be cheaper, but my little dogs rip through them in a second. They'll have these toys for a while. Overall I love this place. I came across this place perusing yelp for pup treats to commemorate my 1st valentine day with my puppy Maurice. I'm so glad I stopped. They have a lot of items for both dogs and cats ranging from food (wet/dry), toys and accessories as well as make their own cookies and custom cakes! They even put together a "bark-cuterie" box filled with an few hand selected items edible treats, probably for Valentine's Day, but I would double check.
