I've always been a fan of the rainbow cone, even though I only discovered it one year ago. Somehow I've lived in Chicago my whole life and just never got to try it. I used to see it at taste of Chicago, but I was not lucky enough to get it. Now that I'm adulting I can choose my desserts. We were at Navy pier and I really wanted to get this thinking it would be like the one I got at another location in the city. The server was not very friendly and he just sort of took your order and then got to working on the cone. I don't know how he made my sister-in-law's ice cream cone, but it was very unstable and when she was trying to eat it the whole top of the ice cream all just fell on the floor. Very disappointing to pay nine dollars and have it end up on the ground at Navy pier. This did not happen when I went to the Streeterville location.

Delicious ice cream. Was ready super fast. Great to walk around and eat with. They give you a great sleeve so your ice cream doesn't drip all over you. Only bad thing is once the ice cream melts all the flavors blend together and you can't distinguish them. But your fine if you eat fast or if its not super sunny out!

After a busy day, we wanted something to cool off, so we stopped by here since it was the only option available at this location. We each got two scoops in different flavors, and between us we were able to try different flavors. The variety was nice, and some flavors stood out more than others. You can choose between single, double, or triple scoops, and pick either a cone or a cup. They also have mini donuts in a variety of flavors! The flavors were creamy, fresh, and well-balanced, with something for everyone from classic chocolate and vanilla to fruity options like strawberry, orange sherbet, and Superman. The ice cream was good, though not all flavors were equally memorable. Portions were generous, though not all flavors were equally memorable. It's a fun spot for sharing and sampling, especially if you like having options.

A unique dessert experience in Chicago! The original rainbow cone features 5 flavors in one, which you can either get in a cup or a cone. It incorporates sherbet and ice cream all in one, so there's something for everyone. I fell in love with their orange sherbet flavor so when I went back the next day, ordered their orange dream cone. It did melt pretty quickly under the hot sun so be sure to eat this in the shade! Cones are made quickly and the location I visited was right on Navy Pier, so I got to enjoy this treat with a great view.

The team members working at this kiosk for not friendly whatsoever. The ice cream was not cold enough and was melting immediately upon receiving. Spending while over $50 on watery, melting, ice cream, and plastic cones that were not even edible as they became cardboard when saturated with the 'ice cream' was awful.

Super delicious and unique ice cream located on Chicago's Navy Pier. We got the rainbow cone which came with five different flavors. It was $10 but definitely a fun treat to have. Every flavor surprisingly went together and the cone was fresh and buttery. Definitely worth getting!

Yum, perfect treat for a summer day! When I went there was no line, and my ice cream was ready fast! I got the rainbow cone, I don't even know what all of the flavors are, but they are delicious. Had to eat fast as it was very melty. Beautiful views from here of course! Kinda pricey but it's to be expected due to its location. Very tasty!

Super good. Small ice cream shack. A "close your eyes and buy" kind of thing . Service was good. On navy pier, a beautiful view. You should be able to sub the flavors but I get the rainbow appeal. Worth getting if you're on the pier and haven't yet.

We were walking around navy pier and saw people holding these super colorful ice cream cones and wanted to give it a try! I really liked the pistachio flavor. I was very impressed with how well the ice cream held together even though so many flavors were piled ontop. I wish there were more places to enjoy our food, but there was a nice view of the Chicago skyline!

You can get two scoops of ice cream for $7 and 3 scoops for $9. If you add $2, you can upgrade to a waffle cone. Unfortunately there is no option for just 1 scoop. This is the first time I've seen the option to get a rainbow cone which looked really pretty. If you get the cone, it comes with an ice cream cone guard to help catch the dripping ice cream. Tried the orange sherbet, vanilla, and cookies and cream which all tasted good.

Only grabbed a cone to say we tried it, but I would've been okay if we didn't grab one. I think a cone is $7 + tax, but at that price point, I would've been better off with a local ice cream shop. The ice cream quality was definitely low-end. It did make for a pretty picture, though.

This is a great find at this window serve stand at Navy Pier on the South side of the Pier probably about 3/4 quarters out on the pier, a little ways past the theatre. You'll want to get their famous rainbow cone that comes with 5 flavors and as of August 2023 it's 7 dollars. The flavors are Orange Sherbet, Pistachio, Palmer House (has cherry in it), Strawberry, and Chocolate. Whats cool is how they give you the ice cream, they don't scoop it they slice it, so it comes with one flavor on top of another. Not your usual way to get ice cream but oo so worth it. The cone comes with a little protector so your hand doesn't get melted ice cream all over it (smart move guys, SMART MOVE). You can also get wild berry sorbet ice cream or cookies and cream. I do believe you can just get an individual ice cream if you want, but wasn't sure, we went for the 5 flavor original rainbow cone. I for sure would love to try Palmer House on it's own, it was my favorite of the 5 flavors. Whatever you get, just realize that this place and it's growing expansion has been entertaining Chicago and it's guess since 1926, well done Rainbow Cone, you guys are making smiles everyday, both young and old.

While roaming around in Navy pier, I stopped by to try the iconic rainbow cone. It was a good ice cream. Palmer house and pistachio were my favorite flavors.

I wasn't particularly impressed by the selection, and the freshness of the donuts left something to be desired. The presentation also took away from the experience. Seeing donuts sitting exposed in boxes where customers can easily view them isn't particularly appealing and doesn't create the freshest visual impression. I tried the maple pecan glazed donut, which was overwhelmingly sweet. Even after just one bite, the intense sugar rush was immediate and overpowering, making it difficult to enjoy the other flavors. The vanilla donut was the better of the two--pleasantly doughy, though it still lacked the freshness I was hoping for. Overall, this was an average experience. The donuts were serviceable, but neither the selection, presentation, nor freshness gave me much reason to return.

My only complaint is that it had a strange, unpleasant smell inside (we were there in the evening during the weekend of April 25th). Also, when I came a few years ago, it had a really cozy, welcoming vibe packed with comfy couches. Now, it just looks like basic tables and plastic chairs, lacking comfort, character, and charm. I'm hoping to return to try the sweet potato latte and the other shaved ices, but I hope they do something about the smell and make the space feel more cozy and inviting.
