4 stars cuz the ice cream isn't as creamy and hard. Really unique flavors and awesome service you can try them all.
Walked to this cute creamery from our hotel in the west loop with some colleagues. The line moved fast and the attentive staff invited me to try any flavor i might be curious about. All flavors were delicious and I decided to get two scoops, one of Darkest Chocolate and another of House Coffee. This pitstop served as the perfect sweet treat after a productive training for work, before heading to the airport to fly back home.
This ice cream is worth any wait!!!! So many options to choose from, it's encouraged to try a few before you order :). My favorites on this trip were the earl grey creme brûlée and the maple soaked pancakes. Note the standard which is advertised as a half scoop of two flavors really just feels like two full scoops. Something to keep in mind if you don't have much of an appetite.
The new Bridgerton flavors are actually really fantastic - not gimmicky or sickly sweet at all ( dare I say better than their regular flavours?) excited about their new house coffee flavour too! the service was also fantastic! super sweet staff and very patient with my indecisiveness also only learned today that they have a cute little upstairs seating area - great way to warm up (during the winter) and just people watch a little
I stopped in for the first time with some friends and ordered the darkest chocolate and an unknown flavor. I can't recall the name of the second flavor. i think it may have been the double dough, but I'm not sure. I wanted the cookies and cream, but the employee said they didn't have any of that. The employee suggested a flavor and I just went with it. In retrospect, I should've gotten a double dose of the darkest chocolate. The chocolate was rich and delicious. I liked it a lot. My sister had the green mint chip and the darkest chocolate. She didn't like the green chip mint. She also wished she'd gotten two scoops of the darkest chocolate. The ice cream was good but the $9 price tag is a bit expensive for the portion size. I can't say that I liked the darkest chocolate anymore than the chocolate scoops that Baskin-Robbins serves. I'd probably stop in again if I walked past a store, but it's nothing I'd go out of my way to eat. We ate our ice cream in the seating area upstairs. The space was clean, quiet, & comfortable.
Stopped in for dessert. It smelled so amazing! We got the standard which is 2 scoops in either a fresh waffle bowl or a cone. We got the yummy waffle bowls! I got berry swirl oat something and browned butter cake. Amazing! Hubby got a miso butterscotch cookie it was yummy! The service was great, warm and friendly staff. The store was clean.
High quality ingredients and fun flavors. I'm so glad I stopped in here to take a break from the heat. Fun colorful decor. They also have a nice upstairs seating area with great views of the lively Randolph Street. They serve half scoops so you can try more flavors. I got the "regular" which is 2 half scoops. I chose honey vanilla bean and salted peanut butter with chocolate flakes. Both are fantastic!! They sell ice cream in tubs to go too. I like how there is a separate cashier counter so that they can keep the ice cream line moving. They compost too. I really appreciate that. I joined their rewards program and look forward to returning.
Handcrafted ice cream, innovative flavours, and extremely friendly service. If you are in Chicago, then Jeni's is a must visit! I stopped by because every local I asked pointed me towards this!! We got their pistachio macaron and a cranberry holiday flavour (I forgot the full name). Both are favours I usually would not get, but I really enjoyed them both! Their waffle cone is made in house. It's not as crispy as I'd like it to be though. This location was very spacious with lots of seating on their second level-- something you don't see very often at ice cream places:
I have been a long-time fan of Jeni's, since they opened their first Chicago location in Southport. The mister and I used to make trips out there just for Jeni's or we purposely planned a dinner in the area so we could make a stop at Jeni's. This is an excellent addition to West Loop and we've been several times. We also always make an effort to introduce it to our friends who are visiting from out of town. Thus far, it has yet to disappoint. Some of my favorite flavors are darkest chocolate, goat cheese with cherries, brambleberry crisp, brown butter almond brittle, wildberry lavender, etc. During my recent visit, I tried the goose tracks and peanut butter with chocolate specks. Both were memorable and delicious!

Their ice cream flavors are always good and interesting. My favorites are their milkiest chocolate and honey vanilla bean, and my husband's favorite is the root beer float. The space is small but there's crowd control, so you might have to wait in a small line outside. Once you're in, it moves quickly and you can try samples before ordering. I also like that they do half scoops to allow more flavors in a cone or bowl. Plus, they sell pints of some of their most popular flavors.
This is my favorite ice cream place in Chicago. I ordered the Brambleberry ice cream and a almond butter scoop on a slice of a waffle cone. It was delicious. The service at this location was very nice. They are happy to serve you as many samples as you want. The ambience of this establishment is very nice. There is a place where you can sit upstairs at one of the locations which is cool. At this one that we went to we ate outside which was super nice. It's a quiet area perfect place to go to eat outside and enjoy ice cream on a nice hot day. They are open late and it's the perfect place to go to on a summer night.
My favorite ice cream place in Chicago! Everytime you walk in, you'll just get a wiff of the sweet aroma of their homemade waffle cone. As soon as I tried their new winter flavors, I fell in love with the peppermint ice cream. I loved it so much that I bought a pint right then and there. I will come back for that peppermint ice cream!!!
I'm usually very picky when it comes to ice cream flavors and even ice cream places. Ever since I tried the Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks from Jeni's, I couldn't stop craving it! My nephew, his dad (my brother), my wife, and I were in the West Loop neighborhood of Chicago on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. While waiting to be seated at a nearby popular lunch diner, we stopped into this location of Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream shoppe. The ice cream (and its flavors) were marvelous. Jeni's first opened in Columbus Ohio in 2002, expanding to almost 100 locations across the U.S. by 2026. My nephew knew about Jeni's, saying that a location had just opened up near Rice University in Houston recently, and that he really liked it. So his dad treated us. Like other gourmet ice cream places, a one scoop ($7.55) is really 2, allowing one to choose two different flavors. Thus, my wife and I shared a two scoop ($9.55), choosing 4 different flavors: green mint chip (refreshing), darkest chocolate (excellent), salted peanut butter with chocolate flecks (decadent), and summer berries & Passion fruit (very tart). It wasn't too busy when we went in the early afternoon, and free samples were given using real metal tasting spoons (which I swear makes the ice cream taste better?). There is a decent size dining room upstairs from the main floor, with decent seating and a nice view of the street (Randolph) below. read more
I noticed a sign for a "Biscuits with the Boss" sundae special. So with being a Ted lasso lover I had to check it out and It was really delicious! The ice cream was incredibly rich and had a fantastic, unique flavor profile. To me, it actually tasted like it had a hint of light cream cheese or goat cheese mixed in, which gave it a really great tang that balanced out the sweetness perfectly. The service was great, and it was the perfect sweet treat to grab while in the city. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area! read more
This was my first time at this location, the line was pretty long, but honestly that's just part of the experience. The second I walk in, I was hit with the smell of fresh waffle cones and sugar. The place was packed and full of energy. The staff was super friendly too and didn't mind letting me try a couple flavors before I made up my mind. I wanted to switch things up this time, so I went with the Caramel Mocha Special. It came with three scoops: House Coffee, Milkiest Chocolate, and Honey Vanilla Bean, all topped with caramel sauce in a butterscrisp waffle bowl. Every single scoop had its own personality. The House Coffee tasted like a really smooth cold brew turned into ice cream. Rich, roasted, and bold without being bitter. The Milkiest Chocolate was exactly what the name promises. Super creamy with a deep chocolate flavor that tasted like real melted chocolate instead of artificial syrup. Then the Honey Vanilla Bean balanced everything out. It was light, silky, and had this natural sweetness from the honey with little pops of vanilla throughout that made it taste homemade. Every bite was a little different depending on what I scooped up, and somehow they all worked together perfectly. And that butterscrisp waffle bowl... crispy, and delicious. read more

This is a really good ice cream spot. The ice cream is so good and the employees are so helpful. They offer you samples they take their time the line does get long, but it moves really fast. It's a really cool spot to kind of stop in and get a sweet treat after dinner, especially in West Loop and they say open late so I would highly recommend going here. When I'm craving a sweet treat my mind always goes to Jeni's. When you walk in the door you are overwhelmed in the best way by the smell of freshly made waffle cones. The seasonal flavors are always absolutely delicious and you can sample as many as you'd like. The frosted sugar cookie ice cream for spring this year was so incredible I went to the grocery store a few days later to buy 2 pints after I had it in the shop. read more
Jeni's Ice Creams are Splendid, indeed! My sister and I popped in for a sweet treat after a fantastic dinner. We got lucky, as there was no line at the time we arrived! We were warmly greeted by both the warm aroma of freshly crafted waffle cones, as well as the kind and welcoming staff. I also loved the aesthetic of the place and greatly appreciated the seating area located upstairs, where we could enjoy our yummy ice-cold treats. My sister ordered the limited edition strawberry shortcake parfait (which she ABSOLUTELY loved) and I opted for a scoop of brambleberry crisp and the lemon pound cake in a waffle bowl. T-a-s-t-y tasty!! A lot of folks may say that Jenis' is "overrated" but honestly? It's darn good ice cream and hits every time! We can't wait to come back and experience more flavors! I highly recommend this spot to all folks looking for a great dessert experience! read more

Jeni's has a wide variety of ice cream and even has vegan options for all my lactose intolerant besties! I literally could not resist the scent of fresh made waffle cones! After some internal debate and a few samples I settled on the brambleberry crisp and vegan Texas sheet cake! It was delicious and the perfect treat to end my day of exploring Chicago! The staff were super helpful and helped me actually decide on flavors I loved The inside is clean and bright with bench seating! If you go upstairs there's more seating with a nice view! read more

I have been to several of the Jeni's locations in Chicago, though this is the one I most typically frequent. They have the best ice cream in the city hands down. The handmade waffle cones are great, and the rotating flavors are not to miss. Tried the fall flavors tonight- the apple one was just OK in my opinion (tasted like apple juice) but the miso was delicious. Overall they have really unique and great flavors read more

I love, love, love Jeni's ice cream! This is one of my favorite locations. I stopped in after work today for a scoop (or two, lol). I got a scoop of the ooey, gooey buttercake in a buttercrisp waffle bowl. Currently, they have a limited edition flavor (Opaque) with limited edition colored waffle bowls/cones. This location always has great customer service, smooth transitions when there are lines, and great ice cream. You get to try small samples before making a decision as well. read more
Although a cold rainy night, our small group made our way to Jeni's after a warm comforting dinner of ramen. Across our group of 5, we tried 10 different ice cream flavors. Each was happy with their choices with the promise to try others in the future. Service was quick as the full line that was there when we arrived, quickly diminished. read more

Walking into Jeni's, it smells absolutely amazing since they make the waffle cones right on property! Along with fresh waffle cones, there is a huge variety of fun flavors. The staff is more than happy to have you try just about anything you want, which helps since there are so many options! When you get three scoops in a cup, they give you a free piece of waffle cone to eat with it. For some reason, the staff member forgot to give me the waffle piece but one of the other people in my party kindly gave me a piece of their waffle to try. There isn't much seating on the first floor but tip - you can walk upstairs where there is tons of seating! The decor is fun and playful - perfect for an ice cream spot. read more
As I said.. I'm back with my thoughts on Boozy Eggnog... it tastes literally JUST like it. I haven't had it in a long time so I forgot what it tasted like but this gave me the reminder right away haha and my boyfriend says the same. Can't forget that it does have a hint of cinnamon whiskey that gives it that boozy MMF. Honestly can say I wish I didn't get a whole pint full lol but it'll get eaten this winter regardless. I just really wanted to try it out and as I mentioned they didn't offer scoops of it in store. read more

Nice, creamy ice cream that was full of flavor. My one critique may be that the ice cream was honestly a little too sweet for me. Maybe I'm just getting older haha. The workers were all really nice and let me try a few flavors and gave suggestions too. The place indoors is great, if you want to sit inside check out the upstairs area! It was a little pricey, but the ice cream was quality. And they had some really cool flavors. read more

Having a Jeni's in the neighborhood is dangerous, but so happy they are within walking distance. The gooey butter cake is always great. However I have really fallen in love with some of their seasonal flavors. Blueberry Lemon was insane. I wish it was year round. Can't wait for it to return. Peach and Biscuits. Whoa! It's a salty sweet combo with chunks of both. Staff is always so nice. The line will be super long but it's worth the wait and it moves fast. The entire place smells like their cones...as they are making them fresh.. yum. There's a small room upstairs to enjoy your ice cream with tables. read more

Great location in Fulton Market as they offer additional seating upstairs. I love all the unique flavors they offer and of course, free samples with a smile. Cost is reasonable when they are very generous on the scoops. Yes, there are usually long lines, but the lines are quick. Highly recommend. read more

Jeni's ice cream is quite the experience. Waiting in line is the first step to delicious awesomeness. The vibes and music are always high no matter what time of day you come. The ice cream is so delicious and creamy it's almost like a cosmic experience and you're just eating ice cream. Hands down one of my fav ice cream shops. read more
