This is an historic location and has a great ambiance. You can feel the history just stepping past the saloon swinging doors! The wait staff is friendly and super attentive. However, the blackened chicken with vegetable/salad dish that I ordered was terrible. The chicken was very dry and overcooked. Tasted like blackened shoe leather! What a great experience! This place is awesome! The service was great! The gals are dressed like saloon/brothel girls from the late 1800's haha! The live music on the patio was perfect! The food was amazing!! We had the Grilled Prawns Prosciutto appetizer and the Whiskey Row Duel (Quarter rack of ribs, grilled chicken breast, with Sweet Baby Ray's barbeque sauce everything was yummmeee! Best Old Fashion! We came here upon a recommendation and didn't know we were coming to the oldest bar in Arizona. This place is worth a look but don't expect a friendly face. Waitresses were nice and attentive and the food was good. My husband really liked their IPA. The gentleman in the cowboy attire that seats people is not friendly or accommodating. We were seated outside with our dogs. I went inside to look around the interior and buy a few souvenirs. I stood at the Host's desk for several minutes. When he walked past me the second time, I inquired where could I purchase some souvenirs. He pointed to a lady walking towards me and said "that lady can help you". To which she looked right at me, Did not acknowledge and kept on walking and chatting with a co-worker. I turned around and left. Apparently the oldest bar in Arizona does not need anymore of my money. Will not be back. read more

It's a great place with lots of history. We came for my friends Birthday. Everything was fantastic. Jasmine was our server. She doted on the 5 of us, made sure we always had good cocktails. We come here every year for the steak. It doesn't disappoint. Had the NY strips they were done perfectly. Enjoyed fish tacos as the appetizer. Had a cup pile and f beverages. The service is always good we arrived prior to the 4p dinner service and they let us put in our dinner order at 3:45p. It was a great way to top off our birthday celebration. read more

If you love history like I do, then you'll love it here. The Palace Saloon is a historic bar and they still have bullet holes in the ceiling from its prime days of occupancy. The food and the service was decent, and I will definitely be back once this coronavirus blows over. They did space everyone out accordingly and they were doing the best they could with the limited amount of people working in the restaurant. This place is crawling with photos and memorabilia, so I would love to come back to look at every little nook and cranny, if I had more time. read more

Dined at Palace Restaurant in Prescott for my wife's birthday. We were seated and ordered drinks, then ordered around 6:45. Our order started arriving around 7:30. It was apparent that the food sat in the kitchen for too long because a loaded baked potato was cold. A burger was also cold. The burger that my wife ordered did not arrive at all. I brought this to the attention of our waitress. Shortly thereafter, the manager of the Palace came out. I told him that the potato was cold and that after waiting for more than an hour, our food had not been delivered. Before I could tell him more, he erupted. I was stunned. Rather than trying to fix the problem, he yelled at me to "Get the f*** out of the restaurant". His volume was so loud that many people within the restaurant were aware of his outburst. He then said "We don't want your f***ing business". I got up and tried talking with him. At that point, he came up and stood 8 inches away from me yelling at me. His stance was meant to intimidate. He was a large individual standing at least 6'3" and weighing over 250 pounds. I tried telling him to back out of my space, that he was intimidating me. He refused to listen to anything that I tried to say. He threatened to call the police. He kept saying "get the f*** our of his restaurant" that they did not want our "f***ing business". All of this transpired in less than a minute! We were in a state of shock. We left and waited outside the front door for all of our party. He followed us outside. I asked for his name. He said he would not give it to me. I used to teach "When Violence Shows Up At Work" on the college level. I am aware of what bullying behavior looks like. I tried talking with him but he would not listen, cutting me off when I said anything. Classic bullying behavior. We were led to believe that he was the owners son. We were told that a party left the restaurant right before us complaining about cold food. read more

Howdy partner! If you have a love for anything old west this is the place to be. Never before have I wanted to walk up to a bar, slap a quarter down on the old wood top and ask for a glass of whiskey like I have here. This place will have you smoking cigars, drinking bottles of whiskey, playing poker, howling at the moon and shooting at the stars saying things like "I'm yer huckleberry." But in all seriousness this place is awesome. The whiskey and beer selections are great and if you drink anything else I'm sure they could help you but why are you there in the first place? 3.5 stars. Let's face it, the history and old west ambiance are the main reasons to come here for a meal. And The Palace has history and ambiance in spades! If you love the old west and cowboys (like me), then you must go here at least once. Built in 1877, luminaries such as the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday patronized this place. The walls are covered in old photographs, and the staff who are dressed in period costume also are knowledgeable on the history of The Palace. (Our bartender knew quite a lot of the history and was happy to share.) The food was decent, good even. I had a steak...which was average as far as steaks go. It was cooked perfectly to order (med rare). My wife had a burger which was better than average for a burger...I would definitely get that if we return (we were visiting from out of town.) The bar has a very large selection of whiskeys, which being on whiskey row that makes sense. Everything from the cheap stuff (Jack Daniels) all the way up to some really top-shelf choices (12 yr Whistle Pig and others). If you are just stopping in at places for a drink along whiskey row, then The Palace is a definite must-go. Overall, decent or better food, great atmosphere, and a lot of good whiskeys. I enjoyed visiting The Palace, which is the oldest frontier saloon in AZ, and which was once patronized by Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday. The seating area was nice and spacious, and I liked the long, historic, 1880's wooden bar. Right up front you should go for a drink just because of the history. Lots of cool antiques that are worth the trip alone. Food is just so shockingly bad that it does not make sense. Refuse to give 1 star because I want this place to survive but plan to just grab a drink or two. read more

The reason you go to the Palace is for the history (Wyatt Earp, his brothers, and Doc Holiday frequented the Palace), the old west saloon atmosphere, and the Whiskey Row experience. While the food was very good, it was not outstanding (if you are looking for a fine-dining experience I can recommend several other spots in Prescott. But like I said, you're not here for that.) Service was a bit sub-par but I attribute that to the fact that our server was new and the post-COVID shortage of good help. While the building was destroyed during the 1900 fire and then rebuilt. The bar itself is original. So spend some time at the bar ordering a drink, and taking in the fact that your elbows are undoubtedly in the same spots as many an old cowboy, miner, gambler, and drinker. read more

We love coming to The Palace when we venture into Prescott. The food yes is Bar food but always fresh & good. We love the Saloon setting, the period age costumes - uniforms the staff wears. We always have great service & such great prices as well. This visit took a couple friends with us who had never been & were shocked at the place. Very popular with tourist but now that we are residents, it is a "go-to" for us. Centrally located, it is convenient but on top of all that the food is delicious. Salads are filling, burgers are juicy and the steaks are superb. The historical ambience is just wonderful and you get the feeling that Wyatt will walk through those bar doors any minute.
