Ok against my better judgement, I returned to try breakfast. We ordered an avocado toast and a breakfast sandwich, not good! Avocado Toast (1 Stars $7.50) The avocado was not fresh cut from a ripe avocado. It was some mix of different avocados from the night before. It was a multi color shades of green and brown. It was gross to look at, plus no seasoning. For 7.50, I expect 1 ripe avocado to be used. Be warned, do not order!

The people who make the sandwiches at this deli are so incompetent, they will frak up your sandwich 75% of the time. The first two times they were willing to make up for their mistakes, but after this third error I drove back to the store and their manager wasn't even willing to talk to me. The fraking coward. These incompetent idiots have no work ethic and no integrity. I can't express how infuriating it is to have such mindless idiots making your food.

They have a sandwich called a Bird of Paradise. It is fantastic when it is made accurately. The first time I ordered it, I asked for no cheese (because I am allergic!), toasted bread, and onions. I got home to find it wasn't toasted,...

had zero onions, and it was loaded with cheese. So, I complained and they gave me a rain check. When I received the replacement sandwich, it had no bacon on it like it was supposed to. Fraking idiots. So I complained again, and finally they got it right the third time. I ordered the same sandwich today it had no bacon again. At least it had onions and no cheese. What does it take to get these idiots to make a sandwich properly? If you visit these wasted teenagers with the hope of an accurately made lunch, you are as much of a brainless mental patient as the people who run it are.

Breakfast sandwich was $11 took about 25 minutes for them to make then when I got it it was so slathered with mustard and mayo that it was getting everywhere and the bacon was not even cooked and floppy.

Decided to try this place out for the first time after a hike. Definitely do not regret that decision! The deli is located inside of a market. They have a lot of sandwich options, as well as other food. You can also make your own sandwich. I tried their Palm BLT and added turkey and provolone cheese to it. It was delicious! We also tried their Italian job which was also amazing! We got two half sandwiches for I believe $6.99 each. Such a good deal. There is seating both, indoors and outdoors, which is perfect! There is a good amount of parking as well. So many delicious options, can't wait to go back!

Stopped by The Palm deli recently and had a great experience. The food was exactly what you'd hope for from a local deli What really stood out, though, was the service. Cashier Barbara was incredibly nice -- welcoming, patient, and just had a great attitude overall. It made the whole visit feel more personal and enjoyable. You can tell they care about their customers. Definitely planning to come back. Places like this remind you why supporting local spots is worth it!

The breakfast burritos are what you want to get here. $10 in Apr '23 gets you a good size burrito and even includes avocado. Sandwiches are decent here but the value is less. You can choose off the menu or make your own burrito or sandwich. There is seating inside and out. It also has a small selection of wines and beer with some snacks as well. They also have a ready made section too. What's nice is it seems they incorporate local produce as well. The eggs are from Glaum which is great.

WOW. I can't believe I live so close to this treasure and it took me this long to try Palm Deli. I guess it's true what they say: good things come to those who wait! My expectations were low. I figured this is just a cafe with sandwiches and pasta but it is so much more than that. Like, damn this place has some good good sandwiches. Ericka's favorite was fantastic. It is a flat bread panini sandwich with turkey, pesto mayo, havarti, spinach, tomato, onion, and pepperoncinis! Very tasty! I kept thinking about it for hours after eating it. Would get again! We also got prime time at the Palm which has roast beef, cheddar, and sauteed sweet onions. Totes forgot to ask for horseradish sauce but we had some at home so it's all good. There is plenty of outdoor seating, vegetarian and gluten free options, ready made foods, and a ton of shelbes with snacks. Fyi they do not sell fries. I stood at the wrong area for probably 5 minutes or more before realizing that the area to pay is by the front door. There was nobody behind the counter or anyone waiting so I didn't think anything of it/ended up in the back of a long line. I was confused bc some ppl were getting their food and drinks from the display counter so I figured I'd pay after getting my food? Anyway, super cute little plaza with cottage style buildings and great food at Palm Deli! Will be returning!

Since the change of ownership the quality of food and customer service have gone down hill significantly with an increase in price. Simply put, it's just not good. I would recommend you go someplace (any place) else, like The Farm. I grew up coming here every day after school, but everything that made this place special is now gone. Don't waste your time.

Driving home from Manresa, we decided to grab lunch at this deli since it was nearby. Wasn't expecting much. Nothing on the menu was jumping out at me, so we settled for the following after asking the cashier for his recs: Grilled cheese: 4/5 oooey gooey thick melted cheese! Sooo good! Kids gobbled this down. Tri tip special: 5/5 wow packed with so much flavor! This was delicious! Ericka's favorite: 5/5 Ericka sure knows what a good sandwich tastes like. This sandwich looks semi healthy but totally hit the spot. So happy we found this deli. Will definitely be stopping by again when we are in the area. It's right off the fwy. There is a super cool tank right near the entrance door with pretty fish. We got our food and ate outside on the tables near the parking lot.

Stopped in today to check the place out since I usually DoorDash my Açaí Bowls. They have SO MANY SANDWICH OPTIONS and i could tell by the amount of customers they had, this is a really popular deli! They seemed a little short staffed but I totally get it because just like them, most businesses are experiencing the same. The young crew they had working were great: very professional, attentive and on it. It took a while to get my order but was definitely worth the wait and the guys let me know it would be a little while. They were working their butts off back there!! If you haven't tried their açaí bowl, you should. They're fresh and filling with generous ingredients! The avo toast is a great choice too!

Called to talk with owner about my terrible breakfast experience (of course he wasn't in), politely asked him to call me back (zero response) after three days. My new favorite view of Palm Deli is now in my rear view mirror

When your local choices include Deluxe, or Erik's; this place beats the competition hands down! They have creative choices for sandwiches, comprised of high quality ingredients.. Their chicken pesto on Tuesdays is fantastic and the Sunset Roast is my FAV. OK, so the sandwiches run between 5-8 bucks. News Flash, most deli's are charging that much now, unless you want a junk food style Togo's lunch. Really friendly staff. For the non-locals, if you are heading to the beach (Rio Del Mar) you might want to look this place up and stop by on your way to the sand. read more

This place is within walking distance from my house, and my sweetie and I tried it for the first time last week during the crazy storm when the roads were too dangerous to drive on. We really liked it! Everyone has different experiences of course - I just looked at the negative reviews. With ANY RESTAURANT/DELI, there's going to be a hit or miss once in a while. I've eaten twice here now and each time was great! They have a nice selection of chips, snacks, drinks, coffee and desserts. Nice atmosphere, very sweet staff. I love that it's local and not a chain too. I'll definitely be back often! read more

I have been trying to give this place a chance since starting a job close by, I continue to try and give them chances and each time I am reminded why I should not give them another chance. I feel like for a breakfast burrito that is already premade, a near 15 minute wait is too much for something that needs to be popped into a microwave and thrown onto a panini press shortly after. I've had one visit there where I felt like I got my burrito in adequate time because the girl working behind the counter actually broke away from making sandwiches for 5 seconds to go through all the trouble of throwing something into the microwave for a minute and on to a panini press - as apposed to the seemingly typical routine of finishing the sandwiches first, throwing the burrito in the microwave and on the panini press while they sit around and do nothing for 4 to 5 mninutes while it heats up. The service is very hit or miss. The girl who has rang me up a few times has been very nice [Marley?] but the guys behind the counter in the deli never say thanks and never look happy. I don't think the people who make sandwiches here have souls. Because you'd pretty much have to sell your soul to make sandwiches this good. Me and my lady had some veggie sandwiches. Its ridiculous how good they were. I've never done heroin, but it's probably like these sandwiches. Do yourself a favor and eat here.........every day. read more

Excellant deli. Very friendly staff. I've had the breakfast burritos and the Bird of Paradise sandwich (turkey, provolone, bacon, avocado). Everything is fresh. They use Glaum eggs which are great (the owner is a Glaum family brother). Haven't tried soups or salads but will try when weather gets cold. A little pricey but worth the price. I go maybe once a month, but I'm never disappointed. Also very, very clean as opposed to the little piggies there before! read more

Great little hidden place we found off Rio Del Mar. Love the artichoke soup and the daily special sandwiches. Third visit now and have love everything we've tried. Good selection of sides that you don't see in other deli's. A small but mixed and interesting wine selection. Several labels we have not seen before. Thumbs up! read more

Beautiful Redwood view, easy and clean location. Family friendly. Never too busy. Fast and friendly service. Wonderfully fresh salads, sandwiches and all kinds of specialties always ready to go. Great wine buys. Perfect for a quick stop pick for lunch for work or vacation. My son loves their Deviled Eggs & Fish Tank. I love their breakfast burritos w/ salsa and salads! I was visiting this place because I wanted to eat something before I went on a flight provided with the agency I work with that listed me, my men, a doctor, and only one guest. As I entered the establishment, I was greeted by a bulky guy who had some sort of breathing problem and had to wear a mask. I ordered the buffalo soldier and I was very curious about his masked and asked if he needed that mask to live. He said that it wouldn't kill him but it would be extremely painful for him. I then jokingly said that he was a big guy. He got offended and told me he was big for you. What he said really hits deep because all my life I was mocked for having a short stature. The good thing is that he has a lot of loyalty for a hired gun. read more

I was dissapointed in thid deli. I have had better sandwiches here before but today they were off. We ordered three sandwiches and all three were so-so. I ordered the Buffalo Soldier and it was not at all as described. No blue cheese at all on the sandwich and lame sliced chicken. I brought family here on the way to Manresa and we should have gone to Safeway. Thirty bucks is a lot for three lame sandwiches and three drinks. read more

I really like the Palm Deli so it's hard to deduct a star here, but I feel it's justified. Everything I've had here has been tasty, and they even have a decent selection of gluten free items. I've even tried their breakfast items, which are once again, tasty. The staff is really friendly and 9 times out of 10 are prompt and efficient. But the star deduction is for the price. Things can run a little pricey here. I recently bought a sandwich and a little pack of cookies and my wallet was $21 lighter. Ouch :-( I sometimes lean towards Erik's because their sandwiches are tasty too but I feel you get more bang for your buck. read more

I love the Palm Deli! My family and I pick up dinner and it's like we went to " Mom's House" and picked it up. Everything is delicious! We have had just about everything they have in the case and all of it is wonderful. Its so fun to get a variety of dishes and bring them home with a great salad and share all the different dishes. My only regret about posting this review is that I am afraid my favorites will be sold out!! :) read more

The food is alright. The pricing is a bit ridiculous. $11 for a sandwich with stale bread. Overall my experience there would not have been so bad had the employees not looked so miserable to be there. My wife tried calling several times but no one would answer. Staff was quick and friendly. Coffee with cinnamon was good. But we really came for the acai bowl they advertised and was very disappointed. One small chunk of frozen acai, mostly granola (which was good), banana, and strawberry slices. Seemed expensive; $9.50 for small and $12.50 for large. It looked like they had a lot of good salad and lunch options but will continue getting our acai bowl fix somewhere else. read more

Friendly service and pretty quick considering the lunch rush of families and groups headed to the beach. You order in the back and payment is fast and easy. We ordered the tiger salad (delicious and a big portion!) and the roast beef sandwich. For the sandwich we requested ciabatta instead of sourdough but the sandwich came out with sourdough. They were quick to replace the bread with little fuss which we appreciated. Clean restroom as well. read more

Acaí bowls are amazing!! Make sure you add the honey & coconut! Service is mediocre and slow- hence the 3 stars. Took way too long to get our Bowls and there was only one other customer. Overall great menu and cute area. Worth the stop! read more

This small place (deli with wine and some groceries) has salads, sandwiches, panini, and breakfast burritos and sandwiches. I got the Palm Veggie panini (6.95) and should have only gotten half of one. It was loaded with avocado. I also got a small container of potato salad (4.50) and a soda. Not happy with the potato salad, it was sort of dry and expensive. It has indoor and outdoor seating. A pleasant place to grab a bite. read more

That process got a little hectic with some of the other customers. The ambiance is exactly what you would expect from an Oceanside deli, counter to order with some packaged items/drinks around the rest of the waiting area. They also have a decent size outdoor patio for seating. There are lots of options between different sandwiches, burritos, pastries and even whole rotisserie chickens. (Also French toast which my daughter liked) The food was good. The burritos were hot and had lots of filling. I could have used a bit more chorizo in mine, but it was still tasty. We will definitely be back if we're in the area. It's nice to pickup and take to the beach that's only about 50 feet from the restaurant.

Asked for my burger medium and when it came out it was well past that and I'm pretty sure it was a frozen patty. I have frozen patties I cook at home that are great, so guessing it just wasn't very good quality to begin with. The lentil soup was flavorless and I only had a few bites before tossing out. Seasoning, a ham hock, and some aromatics would do a lot for this soup. Left feeling very disappointed as there are a bunch of more satisfying options in the area and I chose the wrong one. As I was sitting in traffic, my stomach started feeling like I ate some broken glass or something. Obviously there wasn't broken glass in the burger, just a fitting analogy. I had stomach pains for the next few hours. This is all I had eaten in like 10 hours, so I'm positive it was the burger. The woman at the counter was friendly and the place was pretty clean. I've got a pretty iron gut and it takes a lot to make it turn. Don't think I will be going back.

It'd be a good idea, though, if you had made a good round to browse at all the goodies they have to offer, so you know what you want once your number is called... at least this is what we did. So, we ordered the Pain de Amande (almond croissant... my fave), a Bear Claw (loved these as a teenager), a Raspberry Napolean, and a Fresh Berry Tartelette with pastry cream. OMG! The almond croissant was aaammmaaazzing! I'm going to say this with all confidence, but this was the very best almond croissant of ever eaten! The croissant had a very nice light crisp on the outside, lovely dense layers of pastry inside, and that almond paste was just the best.... it has excellent flavor, just the right sweetness... not overly, and just pulled the whole croissant together to give one amazing yummy bite.... that you won't be able to stop eating! The Raspberry Napolean was excellent too....a bit sweet because of the raspberry jam. Regular Napoleans have flaky layers holding the sweet fillings, but this was more of a butter biscuit layer.... not quite the same, but still oh so yummy! The berry fruit tartelette was also excellent... fresh berries on that delicious pastry cream, inside a perfectly baked pastry shell. Lastly, the Bear Claw.... used to be one of my favorites, but I thought it needed something more most and creamy or moist on the inside, otherwise it tasted just a little bit dry.... still very good, but just needed something more. The one thing all the delicious baked goods we tried had was, they were obviously very freshly baked with the freshest ingredients.... and prepared to perfection. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely pay another visit to Gayle's as their pastries are simply the best you'll ever find anywhere.

You're actually supposed to stand in the area between the register and the liquor section and they'll call your name there. Hopefully this will save anyone reading this the same confusion I had :)

It has gone seriously downhill. My absolute favorite was the Portabella Burger and they have changed that. It was spectacular and now it's just good. The Irish Dip changed severely. The bread is this weird hot dog bun consistency, the sandwich had absolutely no flavor, and the meat didn't melt in your mouth like a dip sandwhich should. They also frequently forget sauces you've requested. This once spectacular place has replaced ingredients with cheaper, removed ingredients they once started out with, and have left the magic far behind. I'm so disappointed. They are back on DoorDash after a long break, but aren't signed up for Dashpass which means you are paying (I paid) $14 on top of your order. Two sad Irish Dip sandwiches cost me $63.42.

I got my fav breakfast burrito today, The Palm Burrito, which I have had literally hundreds of times over the last decade and a half. I changed jobs three years ago and am not in the area as much so haven't been there in that long. Totally different and totally awful. Overwhelmed by undercooked green peppers and onions and missing much of the meat and cheese that made it so deliciously wonderful in the past. The Palm has always been expensive, but it was so decadently delicious it was worth it. I just tried to email them directly and apparently they don't care about customer feedback - literally 10 minutes of poking around in google I could not find an email address or direct website to the store. So...Yelp kept coming up and I really wanted to let the owners know about my bad experience ... and I see from other reviews they've changed hands. Given I just threw away the better part of a VERY EXPENSIVE breakfast burrito and can't get the awful, overwhelming taste of semi-raw green pepper and onion out of my mouth, I will probably not be back. I have been a regular and loyal customer for years but was soooo disappointed in their work today. I get it. It's the Fourth of July. But the place was clearly staffed entirely by new people who did not know what they were doing. I feel sorry for them. The veggie panini I ordered had exactly three pepperocini rings, almost no avocado, no sprouts, and the gross tomato ends shown in the picture. The tri tip sandwich had what seemed to be day old tri tip (see pic) that was dry and tasteless. If you value your business but don't want to work the 4th - then close. I respect that. But to stay open and subject your new hires to big crowds just to make a buck - no. read more

Along with keeping the deli, they have added a great list of breakfast burritos, as well as lunch burritos and tacos. Will definitely come back and try the new burritos! The Pal Deli is a breath of fresh air in the community. The staff is friendly, the food is terrific, and it's a quick and delicious lunch solution. The decor is inviting, and when the weather is nice we sit outside under the redwoods. It's fair to say that one of my family or staff members eats there weekly. I truly enjoy this little deli. It's a family run operation with friendly service. The food is yummy and satisfying. However, music is blasted so loud, it's impossible to enjoy your meal or visit with other diners. Please turn the volume down. Also the musical genre selected is not pleasant dining music. All that's needed is some cool jazz or maybe tropical music to fit the decor. read more

Hot or cold, eat in or take out, including a great selection of wine and/or beer. It is one of the best things to happen in our Aptos community. Yummy yummy, good food in my tummy. I really like there breakfast burritos and for $5.50, you cant go wrong. You get egg, potatos cheese wrapped in a tortilla with your choice of salsa. You can pay an additional $1 or 2 to have them add your choice of meat. Actually they call it another burrito name, but sorry I forget. But its definetly yummy and filling. read more

I have been to The Palm Deli many times. This locally owned little place is where you want to go for fresh ingredients, delicious food and friendly staff. It is a little off the beaten path, but should not deter anyone. They also have pre-made items to take home and heat up for a quick dinner. Nice wine selection also. read more

The Palm Deli is a much needed addition to our wonderful Aptos Community. Not only is the decor an incredible improvement from the old Piggy Market but the food is wonderful.
