Well, they specialize in pancakes. I'd recommend going with that because they are pretty awesome and gigantic. I got the chocolatier which was very good, but so massively chocolate I couldn't finish it even though I was starving when I got there. I think there was like two Hersey bars melted into it. Every kind of pancakes I saw looked super good though. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Also, you can add a couple strips of bacon or pieces of sausage and two eggs for $2.99...I jumped all over that deal, adding to my miserable fullness. Get there early because the line gets long, but if you don't mind sweating a little you can sit out on the patio, but don't worry they have some shade. We waited 2 hours to be seated and watched as 3 families were sat who showed up after us, waited almost a half hour for Cheap Food made poorly and "grilled" shrimp that definitely came from a microwave not a grill. The colorful exterior makes this place look like a tourist spot. The food was really good for breakfast or brunch. The Big Apple pancakes were amazing- it's a must to get it with the scoop of vanilla ice cream. While our food tasted good, my boyfriend never got his plate of bacon he ordered on the side. And the hash browns were just a little undercooked. Their chocolate milk was delicious though! I like that they put whipped creme on the top. The staff was friendly, yet a little bit impatient. We were sitting and catching up when the bill came and our waitress asked if she could take the bill before we were even ready to pay. Afterwards, when she gave us the receipts, she asked if she could take it back before we were ready to leave. Every time she would say "no rush, but.." but there clearly seemed to be a bit of a rush although we were the only customers on a Saturday afternoon and they had about another 20 minutes left before they closed. Great breakfast/brunch place with yummy pancakes and what looked like a great drink menu. If I had any money left from filling up our van with gas lately I would've tried it. About a 30 min wait but there is a sugar store next door for my kids to cost me more money while we waited but it's cute inside at least and they had fun. I had the Destinite pancakes 4.5 stars for taste and my wife had the banana foster, again 4.5 out of 5 for taste. Iced hazelnut coffee was also very good. Coffee wasn't amazing, but I still drank it cuz caffeine. Place is expensive and they nickel and dime you pretty bad so pay attention to the menu. I came here with high expectations after reading their reviews and glancing at the menu. The food is decent, but they lose 2 stars because of service. Expect a wait if you visit on a weekend or "peak weeks" in Destin. Generally it's only about 30 minutes, and if you're alone or with a small party you can sit at the breakfast bar if seats open up. They also use text messages to alert you when your table is ready which leaves you free to browse the surrounding gift shops. We ended up sitting up at the bar which I regretted because it's not very comfortable and you end up sitting pretty close to the people next to you. Our server seemed attentive at first, but after taking our drink order never actually put the order in. We asked for two mimosas, and I can't tell you how they were because we never got them and no one checked on us during the duration of the meal. The woman who brought our food out seemed annoyed and literally just handed us the plates without comment. The pancakes themselves were pretty good (chocolatier) and my husband enjoyed his eggs Benedict. I must express my love for Pancakery. Despite the name, this place has so much more going for it aside from the pancakes. While I did polish off my side of multigrain pancakes, the omelettes are what left me truly impressed. We dined here on a perfect day as they were featuring a California omelette that includes all I could ever want in an omelette. Mushroom, avocado, grilled chicken, (and I subbed egg whites), this omelette was perfection. The eggs were light and cooked just right. The avocado sliced atop the eggs added color, flavor and texture to an already gorgeous plate. The mushrooms and grilled chicken both contributed a sense of smokiness and a welcome meatiness to the dish. Not only were these flavors and ingredients spot on, but the amount of food made me happy. When I eat out for breakfast, my biggest complaint is that the main part of the meal or the protein packed omelette part is typically too small to do the trick and I'm left unsatisfied. This was far from the case at Pancakery. They nailed it in terms of making my taste buds and tummy sing in contentment. read more

First off, the name is a misnomer. Yes, they sell pancakes. Quite good ones, in fact. But they could also be called an Omelettery, because they make pretty darn good omelettes. Or a Waffleery, because those looked good, too. I'd opt for Breakfastery, because based on previous Yelp reviews, and on the ever present line of customers (even in the off season), plus our own experiences eating here, breakfast is where they shine. Place your name on the list with the hostess and settle in (if you give them your cell number, you can browse the touristy shop next door and they'll page you when you're up). Once seated, behold the humongous (as in physical size) menu. Lots of options from your basic breakfast food groups. But you should note that the math of the build your own omelette works very much against you. Adding one item to a make your own will likely cost more than a 3-4 item pre-configured omelette. Buyer beware. The Atomic Bomblette omelette had it all, Including jalapeños with the seeds still attached (hence the "atomic" part). And the omelette is huge. Very tasty and, with the silver dollar pancake side, very filling. The strawberry pancake was HUGE and a bit too wet for my taste. But the flavor was there for both the pancake (buttermilk) and the strawberry topping Even with the line, it's worth a visit. Was very disappointed. I've had much much better quality and flavorful food at IHOP. Had a basic cheese omellette and sand dollar pancakes (which the pancakes were admittedly bigger than I thought which was a plus). Another member of my party had a waffle and it tasted like the mix was out of a cheap box of store bought waffle mix with a bitter after taste. Western omellette was alright but serving is smaller than other breakfast places. Pancakes were actually not so fluffy and flavorful. ZERO MASKS and when I say zero, I mean absolutely zero masks. The employees handling the food, and drinks went around delivering food with no care for the health of themselves or others. The silverware came in plastic wraps to create the illusion that they were sanitized however I saw the hostess packing the silverware while scratching her hair and wiping her forehead.
