Pantry Dos. Why not 2 stars? Nothing charming or special about the food or atmosphere. Same old New Mexican diner fare.

Great everything , it's a real hometown feel here at Dos, everybody knows everybody , everybody calls you friend. An amazing connection between customers and the staff. Lots of hugs going on. We drove into ample parking, about a ten minute wait. We ordered a mocha and Latte , then ordered a Avocado toast plate and a Classic breakfast plate with sausage Pattie's and Green Chile. I'm not going to bore you with good pics but I can say with amount of love by all the Pantry staff it's more like your visiting family and the food tastes even better. I am local to this location but sad to say food quality is going down. Service was always a miss even after rush hour unless you patronize this location every week and familiar with wait staff. This time Ordered B/F quesadilla and hardly had any eggs(attached picture) pointed to server and gets $4 discount, no apology from manager I guess they are used to regular local business so don't care about customer dining experience. My suggestion to ownership is to FIX the quality of food and improve customer service at this location. 15 years ago, the only location was on cerrilos road and people lined up to dine as food and service was top notch. read more

RED CHILI IS NOT GLUTEN FREE! I called ahead and asked. Was told they could make me some (just use cornstarch or arrowroot -not hard) and I believed them. Asked again when I arrived and was told, that was not an option. Instead they brought me a red sauce that was horrible. Tacos were fine. Friendly, clean, fresh, and fast! As soon as I sat down I was being greeted and my drink order was being taken. Menu had a great selection of items to choose from and they have a lot of popular favorites. I tried a French Toast special with peaches and ice cream and two eggs and bacon. It was flavorful and came out super quick. Many home style restaurants in Santa Fe are small and so crammed in their parking lots. This place had a large parking lot and easy to find a spot. There was no wait and the dining area is very open and spacious. You see a lot of locals and regulars here. The food was really flavorful and simple. The prices are great too. The Pantry is something of a Santa Fe legend, and a go-to breakfast spot. Driving a motorhome this trip, I didn't want to hassle with parking downtown, plus the Pantry Dos was on my way out of town. And it was good. The Buenos Dias was great. Potatoes were crusty and tasty on their own, and the addition of a little red&green (Christmas/Divorcidas style) chili and cheese was great. One note - compared to most New Mexican sauces, these are on the milder side, but tasty. Service was good, staff was friendly and prompt. All in all, a great spot for a single or group for breakfast. Reading a previous comment, you do have to look for this location. It's unexpected, but parking is a lot easier than downtown! read more

Stopped at this restaurant since I was craving some chile rellenos. I got the combination plate and the best thing was my chile relleno! The cheese was so tasty it was creamy n cheese, couldn't figure what kind of cheese it was. The staff was really friendly, I walked in 30min before closing and they were super fast. The only thing about my plate that I didn't like was the rice, it was hard, yet figured since it was too late it was the last of the day. Overall though everything was delicious!! read more

The Pantry Restaurant has been a mainstay for decades for both locals and tourists. And, after many years in existence they've decided to expand to a second location on Santa Fe's Southside. The Pantry Dos' architecture is quite different from the quaint Pueblo style of the original, but lends itself nicely to the college corridor with a modern industrial style. Plenty of seating inside and outside, including the traditional Pantry bar seating. The food does not disappoint, and is just as wonderful as the original, with a few differences in the menu. The staff are wonderfully kind, considerate and quite good at their job, doing it with continuous smiles! This is a must visit, and will quickly become a favorite stop! read more

Tonight was the 'preview' for Pantry Dos, and the new Pantry is fantastic! It's a warm, relaxed and very friendly place. The staff is on top of their game and made our evening really enjoyable. We enjoyed the warm, freshly fried tortilla chips with perfectly-seasoned salsa and then a course of the beef and chicken breast fajitas ($14.95 with bean, rice, guacamole, salsa and condiments). The fajita meats and peppers were beautifully grilled and had a light smoky flavor. Perfectly prepared and the side of beans and rice were just right. The dessert counter was full of berry cheesecakes and tres leches cakes, but sadly we didn't have any room to enjoy one of the appealing desserts. This place is going to be a real winner! read more

First time here. Recommended by one of my solar customers in the neighborhood. It did not disappoint. I tried the huevos rancheros which is my litmus test for any new place I go. We have always loved the food at the original Pantry. We decided to try eating at Pantry Dos. The BLT I ordered was tasteless, no mayo on the side or cheese added I had requested. About 3 strips of disgusting tasting bacon. Side salad was wet and had a chemical odor. No salsa although that was also on our order. Threw out the sandwich and salad. This breakfast place is amazing! Service was surprisingly fast. We arrived with 4 of us on Saturday at 9:30. We were seated right away. I had the breakfast tacos with corn tortillas and a side of breakfast beans. The salsa is spicy without being too hot. The green salsa is hotter than the red. This is one of the better New Mexican restaurants in Santa Fe. My family and I became fans during the pandemic when we ordered takeout at the east side location, picked it up and ate at the local park. It was so pleasant that we continued after pandemic restrictions were lifted. Excellent food, worth the trip even if it is not directly on you planned route. read more

We generally make a stop at the original Pantry when we are in Santa Fe, but decided to change it up a bit this time with a stop at The Pantry Dos on our way to the airport in Albuquerque. It was a Sunday morning around 930 and they were quite busy but we got in fairly quickly. As a party of two we were a bit of an anomaly on a Sunday morning so small tables were easier to find than one for a large group. The service was very good...enough time to look at the menu but not so much time that you forgot what you decided on. Checking back but not annoyingly so. They even offered me a soda refill in a go cup. I had the breakfast special green chile benedict and my husband kept with the carne adovado theme that he had dir our entire trip. The benedict had good flavor but the sauce did not have the texture of a hollandaise. It was also cold. Everything else on my plate was the proper temperature so I wasn't sure if the sauce was meant to be that way. My husband enjoyed his adovado but remarked that it was more like a chili than an adovado. Don't get me wrong the food and service wer both good and we will definitely go back on future trips. It is the perfect stop for that pre-flight breakfast. read more

We came for a late breakfast. I had the Chilaquiles with Christmas sauce. The green was delicious, the red also very flavorful but a bit to spicy for me. It wasn't a problem because there was plenty of the green. The portion was very large, so there a good value for the price. My husband had the ceasar quesadilla and said it was good. Located on whitefeather rd in Santa Fe, NM offering New Mexican cuisine. We have heard from talking to the locals that one of the major differences from Mexican to New Mexican food is the green and red chili. This place had the best customer service of all the restaurants we enjoyed during our visit to New Mexico. Our waiter Bryan was very helpful in offering suggestions on what to order and I ended up with one of their combo offerings. Our family of four stopped in on a Sunday afternoon on our road trip. I thought the wait was going to be long because there were quite a few people waiting outside, but we were seated in 15 minutes and service was great. Everything was high quality and delicious.
