This place was amazing! Everyone was so friendly and kind! All the food we got was so very delicious! Even my three kids ate everything on their plates. The chips are made in house and you can totally taste the difference. The curly fries were cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were so very yummy! Ordered: Avocado Toast with pan fries Rueben with curly fries PB&J with fruit Michelada Caramel latte My husband said over and over that the curly fries were the best ever. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Rueben was "great" and would've been "excellent" if the bread was a little softer. Michelada had good flavor. Avocado toast on multigrain bread was wonderful. Pan fries are red potatoes sautéed with paprika. Seemed like 3 scrambled eggs...Latte was yummy with a sweet cream design to top it off. Our new favorite spot southside. This is the descendant of The Pantry, a Santa Fe institution for decades. I'm so happy they decided on such a convenient location to Oshara Village, Rancho Viejo, etc. Best breakfast & lunch spot in Santa Fe: Friendly, happy staff; delicious New Mexican food, pinon coffee, omelettes, burritos, espresso, draft beers, great green chili stew/burger, spicy nice salsas steak frites, patio, and a bright/clean atmosphere. My favorite meal in Sante Fe was the Southwestern salad at the Pantry. It had tomatoes, avocados, and grilled chicken served in a fried flor tortilla bowl topped with a lime cilantro dressing. Our family loved this place! When we parked, there were 3 other parties waiting for a table. We added our name and then walked across the street to the grass area, where my kids ran off some energy and played hide and seek around the sculptures. We were seated in 20 minutes, the patio is open during COVID. Everything on the menu looked great and I wanted to sample everything coming out of the kitchen! I opted for the NM sampler/combo: chicken enchilada, brisket taco and Chile rellenos. My husband ordered the Sante Fe Brisket. They were both amazing, with the brisket being our favorite. The food is fresh and packs a ton of flavor! The service was quick and delightful! Our waitress never checked back on us after taking our order so we had to wait to get refills and ticket. Place wasn't super busy so we that it was odd. Wish I could rate the food, but I never got to order. I can rate the service-- it sucks. The waitress (middle aged woman, curly hair and a surly attitude) literally walked by me at least 5 times after delivering my drink, never glancing my way. She waited on a table of men who were seated after me. After about the fifth time of her not acknowledging me, I asked her if I could order. She said, "In a minute," and kept walking. Then she walked by twice more without glancing my way. I left and attempted to pay for my drink at the counter, but there was no one there to wait on me, either. Food was decent. I had a chicken sandwich on sourdough bread and I could only eat the inner part as the crust was really hard, but my creamy green chili soup was good. My husband enjoyed his Mexican dish. The server was a very nice and attentive young lady and the staffing was efficient. My primary complaint that I didn't notice until we left was we were charged higher prices on a few items than listed on the menu. Was the restaurant trying to be deceptive? I hope not, but if you're going to raise your prices, then have the server tell you, modify your menus or get new ones printed. But, it is unethical to charge people higher prices than they were expecting to pay. So, The Pantry was fine, but I'm not sure I'd go back again.... read more
