    Breakfast burrito
    Alana F.

I'm being so honest when I say this hidden gem holds some of my favorite food in Laguna Beach. Right off the coast, this cozy cafe offers great food, delightful service and beautiful views. My go-to is their breakfast burrito. This is a honker of a burrito, packed with egg, cheese, bacon, guacamole, sour cream and chorizo. Most breakfast burritos are a bit skimp on the eggs but not this one -- you get what you pay for, and more. The flavors are outrageous and trust me, you'll want two salsas on the side. For $14 and the amount of food and locations of this place, the Pantry is a no brainer when you're in Laguna.

This place surprised me! It's definitely a small coffee shop vibe inside. About 5 tables, coffee menu plus various food items! Crème brûlée latte was so yummy! The breakfast burrito was made to order so it was customizable. The burrito is definitely shareable! There was outside seating but it seemed to be reserved that day for Mother's Day! Service was quick and friendly. Short walk to the beach!

    Pretzel chocolate bread. So good!!!

One of my top places for breakfast when we are in Laguna Beach! Breakfast burrito is my go to item here. Everything is melded together so perfectly and it's so easy to eat. The salsa on the side is a must have. It's so good that I always have to ask for an extra salsa bc I use the one they give me on just half of the burrito. I inhale that salsa! The other breakfast item we love is their breakfast sandwich. They give you a thick sausage patty and when you bite into it with the runny egg, it's absolute perfection. For pastries, the pretzel chocolate bread is highly recommended and it exceeded my expectations. The chocolate in it is just slightly sweet. A great blend to the savory pretzel bread. The lemon bar here is also top notch if that's your name. The oatmeal raisin cookie was above average for me, not sure if I'll get it everytime but a nice later to have treat. The brown sugar latte is like a dessert treat which I've always said that I like my milk and sweetener with coffee, haha! So it's just my jam. They have a stamp card for drinks so make sure you grab one if you get a drink. Bonus items: we've also gotten the boozy drinks in the jars in the fridge. They are extraaaaaaaa strong.

The Pantry is a nice little breakfast spot right next to Sapphire. You order, pay, and the food is brought out to you in the self seating area. It's fairly easy to find a table, even on weekends. The patio is cute and any seat is a good one. They have umbrellas up to help provide some shade from the sun. We went here twice during our stay because it was easy to find seating, service was fast, and the breakfast burrito with the sauce was so delicious!

We loveeeee the Pantry! This last time I got a breakfast sandwich and a matcha latte-- both were absolutely fantastic. One thing, the egg on the sandwich is a whole fried egg, not scrambled, which made it unique. The staff is so sweet and accommodating to everyone, and they seem so happy to please. Not to mention the phenomenal space. I could sit and chat while sipping my matcha for hours! Be aware, it does get pretty busy on weekends.

Super cute place! Pastries and lattes were yummy. The breakfast sandwich was delicious.

Lavender Honey Latte. It's a cup of warm, floral, homey coziness. The lavender flavor is subtle, which is why I love this drink so much.

Order at the counter, find a seat inside (limited) or outside (there's a partial view of the ocean). Coastal vibes; weather is much cooler during winter months so grab a sweater if you're planning to sit outside. THE FOOD. - Breakfast Sandwich | Good flavors; the sausage and bacon combined with the over easy egg and smoked Gouda cheese are quintessential breakfast ingredients. I liked the aioli being soaked into the challah bun. - Breakfast Burrito | Lots happening in this burrito. Scrambled eggs with oaxaca cheese, slices of avocado, chorizo, refried beans, applewood bacon, potatoes, and chopped cilantro. It's got a California vibe to it and really tasty. Housemade salsa is served on the side. Recommend! - Almond Croissant | Buttery, flaky croissant with sweet almond cream inside and topped with sliced almonds and icing drizzled on top. Delicious. THE DRINKS. - Lavender Honey Latte | It's a cup of warm, floral, homey coziness. The lavender flavor is not very strong; it's actually subtle, which is why I love this drink so much. - Latte | Bold espresso and milky sweetness. THE PARKING. We did street metered street parking. THE RETURN? I'd come back to try other breakfast items. It's a cute breakfast spot.

The Pantry does an amazing job with flavors and delicious food while giving you some good coffee. So I'm about to head into teaching this week and start the new school year so my fiancée wanted to take me out for a day and just calm and enjoy our space. I love breakfast so she found The pantry and honestly it was pretty good. Service was pretty simple, we went up, ordered and we got our number and sat down. The young lady that took our order was sweet and patient as we figured out what food we am wanted in our lives. The vibe was all outdoor with some indoor seating, it very relaxed, umbrella shading and a nice ocean breeze. The food was pretty good, I have some notes though. So let's start with the low and work our way up. The pretzel croissant... it was pretty stale... they did heat it up and when you heat up a pastry that may have been sitting it tends to get very chewy and does not melt in your mouth. I know there was a pretzel element but even pretzels have that softness to them so it was a little bit of a let down. The lavender coffee my fiancée just needed some more bite to it. It felt kind of watered down , I almost took it back to get a shot of espresso to kick it into gear but she worked through it. My Mexican mocha was pretty delicious to be honest , I'd definitely get a shot of espresso with it next time but overall I enjoyed it, I compared it to better buzz because their the only other place that has a Mexican mocha and Pantry does a good job. The breakfast burritos was delicious, I was worried it was going to be too Mushy the inside and get messy at the end but it held together well, and the sauce was on point... I wish I had more!! Also the crispy bacon inside was delicious. On thing I would say is after you wrap up The burrito put it on the pan or flat iron so the tortilla gets a golden brown to it. It helps make the burrito easier to hold and cut in half . If I did not cut mine in half I'm pretty sure it would fell apart. Lastly... the crispy chicken sando... my fiancée made this look after she bit into it ... she then handed it to me and I took a bite... if my burrito did not have so many good flavors I would of ordered another chicken sando.... It was perfection!!! Overall The Pantry has some great food, with some minor changes and making sure the pastries are dress they would have had all stars lit. Will we go back? Absolutely... I definitely want to try more of the menu .

The two breakfast items ordered (avocado toast and breakfast sandwich) in my opinion were incredibly delicious I'm my recent eating out experience. The atmosphere and cleanliness were also great and I recommend this place for anyone looking for a better than average breakfast/meal. Pay upfront service for some reason felt right. No disappointments and very friendly staff. If I come back anytime, I'd definitely come back here. 5 stars for a great meal at a decent price!

Lemon Bar and Spanish latte (wouldn't other the latte again) Beautiful presentation though!

After a nice hike in Laguna, I was craving a good breakfast and found this spot on Yelp. I decided to give it a try. It's located right on the main street of Laguna, and street parking was relatively easy to find. The seating situation was a bit tricky since the restaurant shares the space with another business. I managed to find a small, wobbly table. Ordering is done inside, which is a tight space, and I felt like if I hadn't spoken up, I wouldn't have been attended to. I ordered two coffee drinks, a lemon bar, and two breakfast entrées. Although we told them we were dining in, the coffee drinks were served in paper cups. When we asked for glass cups, we were told none were clean. The lemon bar was disappointing--it had a weird smell and taste, so I didn't finish it. Meanwhile, I noticed that other customers who ordered after us were getting their food delivered to their tables. I eventually went back inside to check on our order. One of the cashiers seemed confused, but she reassured me that the kitchen was working on it. When the food finally arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and it was absolutely delicious. The salsa was the perfect accompaniment. Despite the rocky start, the food itself was the highlight of the experience. Overall, my dining experience was underwhelming, but the food made up for it. I might think twice about dining in next time, but I'd consider coming back for takeout to enjoy that breakfast burrito again!

Nestled in the corner in Laguna beach so you know parking is the hardest part. Side streets it was for us. We went a few days after Christmas so it wasn't that busy. The breakfast sandwich wasn't that good. The cheese was not a good selection for the sandwich and the patty was dry. The breakfast burrito was too mushy, it needed a textured difference. Flavors were good tho. Kids loved the lemon Meyer waffle with fruit and the ham and cheese croissant.

Brown sugar iced latte at their entrance
    Erica A.

Stopped by here for an iced latte before my day at the beach. Really cute area and just across from brooks beach entrance. Ordered the brown sugar iced latte, which was good, could've been a little sweeter. The staff was kind and friendly. I wish I would've ordered breakfast, however, I will be back!

Smashed avocado toast with fried egg. Vanilla latte and coconut crescent... yum!
    Nora F.

The lovely cottage restaurant has very friendly staff and lots of outdoor seating right on PCH. The Smashed Avocado toast was excellent; I added a fried egg on top. I ate there two days in a row! Coffee was good, but second day the milk was sour. They gladly made me a new latte. Servings are generous. My sister had the breakfast burrito and said it was delicious. I'd eat there again and again!

The owner served us initially, and he was really friendly and funny. We ordered a bottle of wine, and some cocktails. We put in some salads and an appetizer, they were really really good. But after that, our server (the owner we were told) left, and another server introduced himself. The new server was inattentive. He sat chatting with the other servers at the bar, leaving empty glasses and empty plates on the table. We had to flag him to come back to fill water. Having been myself in the service industry for years, my biggest pet peeve is when servers sit and chat where you can see them, and when they do come, they don't do a sweep and take care of things on the table. We had to put our empty glasses and trash on a side table. It was weird. The bolognese had hardly any meat in it. It was mostly tomato and onion. I've been to Argentina. Meat is a staple. Also weird. We ordered dessert and after waiting for 5-10 minutes, the server came back and told us they were missing crucial ingredients to make it. The owner came back at the end and was really gracious, but all in all, I think the execution was lacking. The service was not great. And yeah, the place is a dive, which is a positive. Smells like mold/mildew? I didn't experience that but could be. You've lived in your posh cliffside house too long to know what a place with character is like. The Sandpiper is both great and crap at the same time. The latter is part of what makes it great! The booze is of low to average quality. The music is variable. The scene...great! This is where the locals hang out and they are as varied and entertaining as one could want. (Dennis Rodman used to come in from time to time as well.) Brad is awesome. And Chuck. I haven't been to "The Dirty Bird" in quite a while as I moved out of Laguna and so it's a bit more of a hike to get there..does Chuck (the owner) still drop by frequently? He used to work behind the bar nightly. Fantastic guy. No, that's wrong. He's more than fantastic. The Sandpiper is a jewel of Laguna and I hope it's around long after I'm gone. (Dude who's pissed he was kicked out at 1:45am...you're seriously upset over that? Oh boy.)
