I just got home from my appointment here and I am speechless with how it went. I woke up with a kink in my neck two days ago and the pain was almost unbearable to the point where I couldn't sleep and needed a lot of Advil. Being new to the area, I quickly looked up massage studios and found The Paradise SPA. So I called them and they were gracious enough to squeeze me in for a 30 minute appointment for Wednesday. I did 30 minutes of massage and added cupping and it brought tears to my eyes in all the best ways. I was asked how much pressure I wanted and I asked for firm, and boy did they deliver. My massage therapist could tell what side I sleep on and where the pain was without me even having to tell her where. I immediately noticed the lack of pain right after the massage. This place is awful. I went here for a 90 min massage and got the following experiences which are "amazing": - They charged the massage fee before the massage started. - They also wanted to charge the tip before I saw the therapist. - When I lie down and wait for my therapist, the staff were making big noise (vacuuming floor? Sounds like that) which annoyed me. I asked them to stop and the front desk girl said "it is our boss, I do not want to talk to him" - The massage itself was awful too. I got a male therapist which looks strong. The foot massage is so limp and it was like he kept "touching" you for 90min. When I told him to massage harder he was not willing to listen and being very rude to me. - During the massage, the front desk girl even came and asked me for signing tips, which was ridiculous. The massage was not finished yet! - The worst thing is: when I said I will pay for tips when the massage is done, I heard someone there (boss probably) was swearing on me to the girl. "Just force the fucking guy sign the tips! That is what he has to pay, no body cares what he said!" This is what I heard, such a bag person. - The last interesting thing was, when everything was done and it was time for me to pay the tips, they said it will charge me extra $2 for it. But you know I already paid the massage fee by credit card with extra $2, and I need to pay it again?? Is this serious? So guys, please NEVER go to this ridiculous place! read more

I came here with my gf for Valentine's Day. I made an appointment for us to get a foot massage for an hour. She mention they also do body massage as part of the package too. The place was located next to Big Lots. We came with just our tshirt and joggers. My first impression was noticing how clean the place was. The music and lights gave a good vibe. The gentleman escorted us to the massage beds so me and my gf are next to each other. He massaged my neck, arms, shoulder, leg, and foot. The pressure was very strong and the deep tissue massage really did the trick since my body is so stiff from going to the gym. My body felt so relax with the music and I could hear the lady next to us snoring lol. The massage only cost us $22 each plus tip which was totally worth it! Tldr; Had combo massage and it was sooo good!! Super strong masseuse! If you prefer the super zen relaxing slow experience you may need to make that clear with them. Also you need cash for tips!! I had been taking pilates to improve my posture and chiro for muscle pain and tension, both helped but i still had chronic soreness and i had to crack my back throughout the day to get some relief. I booked an appt after a trip so that i can recover from the long drives. Usually in other massage parlors they are too soft for me, and afterward im like that was good i guess? But at Paradise Spa, the woman masseuse assigned to me was super strong from the beginning and i did not have to adjust at all! I personally loved how much effort she put in especially on my right shoulder where I have lots of tension!! It hurt a little and was sore on the night of, but by the next day previous pain and soreness was all gone!!! I am convinced to do this at least once a month, so worth the money. read more

Updated review (12/26/2018) Massages here are still okay. These days I'll only come here if it's last resort. What is annoying is that the last time when I was here, I didn't particularly receive a good foot massage, I tipped only $4 (keep in mind that $4 is still 20%), the person at the front said, "This isn't a restaurant. The minimum you are allowed to tip is $5." That said, I don't think I will be going here very often anymore, if ever again. Yeah, probably never again. It's very rare for me to not tip VERY well, as per my last review you can see I gave a $15 tip my first time here, which is a 75% tip. Which was well deserved. I just did not receive a good massage last time and didn't feel it was worth a 25% tip to be honest. Just left a bad taste in my mouth that tips are basically expected here. If that's the policy, just raise your inexpensive prices and don't rely on tips to make up for the cheap price tag. Also, one of my girlfriends came to this spa with me and her massage therapist fell asleep during her massage. I don't even know how that happened. read more

I am not an expert in massages. When I go to a spa, I am just looking for a relaxing experience. As long as the experience doesn't make me uncomfortable, relieves my stress and is easily understandable, I would rate that spa as a good one. Paradise spa fits that bill. We were a group of four that took the Groupon for 70 min package (40 min body and 30 min foot). This is probably the fourth time that we have gone here with the same package. Once you buy the Groupon, you will need to call and make an appointment. If you want a weekend, you are probably only going to get a 10:30 or 12 pm option. About a year back, the receptionist used to be unfriendly (borderline rude) when he heard that we were using a Groupon. However now they are more welcoming and it isn't an issue. A plus for them. Once you make an appointment, try reaching there 15 min early. You will need it to checkin, redeem the Groupon and use the rest room. After that you are taken to the room where you undress (keep your underwear on), and get under the blanket, with your face down. The masseuse will come in at that point and start the body massage. You can always ask her to reduce the pressure if needed. They do not ask if you need any areas that you want to focus on (but I am sure you can volunteer that information at the start). After the body massage, you are taken outside for the foot massage. After a total of 70 min you are given a cup of water. You can tip them in cash (or in card at the counter though they prefer cash). Here is one thing that I don't like about the establishment. They recommend $20 if you loved the massage and $15 if it was okay. If you give anything below $20, the masseuse are going to look very disappointed. So factor that into the price. Overall the experience is good. If there is one thing that they could improve upon, it is their preference to cash. With the world moving towards paperless transactions, they should embrace it and not have differential pricing. read more

I just learned they didn't honor it and turned my sweet sweet mother away claiming there's a new owner in town who simply won't honor them. Dear new owner, when you buy a business, you're taking on the debt and liabilities. If you're going to buy the name recognition of an established business, you gotta make good on the good faith that business earned. It's why I got the gift card for my mother, and it's why she was hoping to be a long and loyal customer with you. Experiences like this are frustrating and unfair to consumers. I think this time around it might be under new management, reasoning behind it is new receptionist at the desk, decoration for prices, price rates, and different technique. You cannot go wrong with having Mark/Marc taking care of you. Best 30/30 for $47. He listens and is attentive to what you're requesting and your pain threshold. I had a great experience here today. Called and booked the appointment with ease - got a time reserved Saturday morning. Paradise Spa is clean, quiet, and has a very relaxing atmosphere. I was helped by Lucy, who was very friendly and provided a great massage. I had a deep tissue with hot stones - for one hour it was a good price, and it felt very good. It was a couples massage and my girlfriend really enjoyed her time with Mai (Might be spelling that incorrectly). She said she was able to relieve a lot of the tightness and tension in her back. Usually I choose a female masseur, but today I did not find any female masseur at the time frame I could only make. So, a male masseur was assigned, and I thought it would be OK because I did not need to take my cloths off for the foot massage. First, he smelled like cigarette and it made me feel uncomfortable. His massage sometimes gave me a pain, as he seems to be unaware of where to put pressures. At the end of the session, he asked me to lie on the stomach, and he patted my back with fists. I have had good massages in the past but recently the last two massages were really bad. I got a guy that was a cigarette smoker and you could smell the smoke on his hands and cloths. So, recently when I went back I asked for a non smoker female. She started me off and all seemed well. I was very relaxed. With my eyes closed. While scanning through Groupon, I found this place and thought...hmmm...i should try this. $61.50 for a 70 minute full body massage plus 30 min foot massage plus hot stones. That is an amazing price, especially since you get to be in your own room. So I checked in, went into my room immediately and my masseuse came. The service was great but the massage was okay. I go to get a massage at least twice a month since I work with people all day and my back hurts from all the repetitive movement. My lady was a little older and I could feel her arms creak on my back and shoulders. Not very relaxing, but she was good on pressure and time. But its hard to judge a place after one visit. Also, I think what threw me off is you can hear from the other rooms around you. I want to give this place another try since the price is very reasonable. I have been here about 5-6 times now. Here's a short summary of my pros and cons. Pros: You get 100mins of massage for 65$, price you get nowhere else. Getting an appointment is super easy no matter what day of the week it is. You can expect 60 min of decent massage when booking for 100 mins. Cons: Many. If u are visiting to have relaxation, forget it. You will hear cars passing, masseuse talking loudly in chinese, receptionist answering calls to name just a few distractions. You get what u pay for, pretty much all the masseuse lack technique and skill, everyone has their own style but NONE of it is great or relaxing. More on this later. You "HAVE TO" pay a minimum tip of ATLEAST 15% no matter the service or treatment u get. If u dont pay, they chase you down to your car. The masseuse here are inconsistent with different sides of the body. As other reviewers mentioned, if you tell them to redo a certain part or increase/decrease pressure, they hardly pay attention and talk to the receptionist or other masseuse in their language and then come back do even worse or not at all. It has been a consistently bad experience. If you still visit, I'd ask you go for either Kevin / Grace, they are slightly better than others. read more

I called on a Saturday morning and scheduled an appointment. They were pretty booked up until the night so I had high expectations. I already knew this place was owned and ran by Asians and was surprised when I called and the guy who answered the call spoke English really well. We made an appointment for 6pm and he told us not to be late lol We got there 15 minutes prior to 6pm. Upon entering, the ambiance of the place seemed very "spiritual or peaceful". He asked for the Groupon code and when he entered it in, he asked if we needed to use the restroom before going to our rooms. Once we were all ready for the massage, two Chinese women entered and said hi. They never mentioned their name so I'll just refer to them as our massagers. As usual, they started on our backs and ohmygod, I was in sooo much pain. She put way too much pressure on my back and it was horrible. She asked if pressure was okay and I said more softer and it was still the same. I wasn't enjoying it at all. She kept focusing on my spine which hurt like crazy. I was so bruised in my back a few hours after the massage and still currently am (the following day). Not only did she bruise my back, my shoulders and lower back hurts as well. NEVER AGAIN WILL I COME HERE. I don't recommend this place to anyone (especially women) unless you want your body to be beaten up. My bf's big and he even told his massager to lessen the pressure. Oh and after horribly massaging my back, my massager "massaged" my arms and legs but she was literally just rubbing oil. It wasn't even a massage :| I was looking forward to the head massage but she didn't really do much. She just basically moved my hair a lot and got it tangled. Not worth my time and money at all.
