I had an early morning and it was chilly, so I was excited to be able to get a warm caffeinated beverage. I ordered a matcha latte here with oat milk. Overall, I was underwhelmed. The matcha flavor was barely there and it tasted a bit watered down. My drink also tasted a bit grainy, which was unusual. While I finished it, I can't say I enjoyed it. My husband ordered a black coffee and thought it was good though! When I came on a Saturday morning, the line was long but it moved quickly. Service was standard. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way for this spot, however, if you're looking for a quick spot before hopping on the ferry, I'd avoid the matcha and stick to the coffee!

I did want to try the Maui Milk that is unique to Makenna Koffee, so I didn't get an americano this time - but maybe next time! We got one or the yummy cold brews and I got one of the supreme drinks extra hot. Both tasty and we will certainly be back! Service is usually fine, not overly friendly but that is also due to being so busy that they need to move the lines quickly and efficiently. At Camarillo, the server was much more talkative and friendly because it wasn't crowded when I went.

My mom is older and the way it was handled wasn't correct. And it's only two places that we put reviews. My mom put one on Google, and I put one on yelp! It's not a lot of accounts. It's two. I wrote this review months ago but then an incident happened where my mom fell and I feel like it was dismissed. The employee that was there that day wasn't attentive when I said my mom fell, she just stared at me with a smirk. I used to love this place but I no longer feel like recommending their cafe now. No apology from the owner or anything. Speaking of, the location is right next to a Quest Diagnostics, where elderly people need labs done. Now my mom's back has been hurting ever since. She can no longer do tasks that she did regularly.

This seriously addicting coffee shop, which started in Santa Barbara, has been a Ventura favorite for quite some time now, and it's been so fun watching them grow. Nestled in a charming converted cottage, this cozy café is the perfect addition to Downtown Ventura. When I stopped by over the weekend, they were insanely busy so I wasn't able to capture much of the space itself for photos but I can promise you it's a cute spot. We opted for outside table dining and it was lovely. To order you stand in line and then order at the counter, they'll bring the food back to your table, but they will call you up to grab your drinks. We ordered a couple of iced lattes and their famous Bella Rose - iced matcha, which was absolutely gorgeous and just as delicious. 10/10. Their drinks are truly little works of art and always worth ordering. To finish off brunch, we grabbed a couple of bagels. One of my favorites is their toasted bagel with tomato, avocado, and cream cheese, it's simple and so satisfying. Next time I'll be trying one of their fruit bowls. The staff here are absolute rockstars. They crank out drink after drink with a smile on their faces while keeping the atmosphere welcoming and fun.
