This pasta place is a cute spot in Lincoln park. The pasta was fair, not my favorite for the area. However, it's a great casual spot to meet up with friends. The service was great as well!!

My husband and I booked an adventure in the city that takes us around little restaurants in Lincoln Park to "collect" food and end with a picnic in Oz Park and just... so much fun! This is where we got our salads. The cucumber salad was fabulous.

Absolutely fantastic food! We were walking by and caught the smells and said we'd come back later. Thank god we did. Great food, great service, reasonably priced! We got the Jalepeno Gnocchi (bottom) and some other dish (top). Asparagus as an appetizer was the perfect choice.

We came around 7pm on a Monday. Service was prompt, friendly, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was good. I'd definitely come back and get the same dish. I'm still thinking about the jalapeño gnocchi with chicken! The spicy sauce, the pillowy gnocchi, everything about it was so so good. We also got the baked goat cheese as an appetizer which was very, very good as well. I did try the red sangria which was pretty basic, but got the job done for sure.

Affordable, yummy pasta in Lincoln Park!! Open air kitchen so it smells and sounds amazing in here. Kind of a small space so it's a little tight and not a lot of tables, but people come and go quickly so the wait isn't too bad. I've tried a couple of different pastas here and the stand out is the Jalapeño Gnocchi! The sauce is yummy and pairs well with the gnocchi. You can also add the sauce (and any of the other sauces) to any of the other types of pasta to create your own dish. Food comes out straight from the stove pretty quick and is yummy! The quality and portion size of the pastas are pretty good for the price. I always look forward to stopping by whenever I'm in the area and it pairs well with Annette's Italian Ice as a treat afterwards (when it's open for the season).

I'm glad we finally stumbled into this place. The open kitchen concept of this casual pasta joint is nice until you start smelling very strongly when leaving the establishment. Service was quick though and food was decent with good portions and prices. Nothing special as I've definitely had better Italian food in the area, but I can see how this would satisfy a pasta craving! Wine also interestingly came in little cups rather than a wine glass. We got the grilled calamari to start, and this was a small portion of just four large pieces. Though delicious, I wasn't a fan of the small unshareable size. We also got the large mixed greens salad, which was a nice fresh portion and enjoyed the complimentary bread with the calamari sauce. For our entrees, we got the crab ravioli that was on special and the Spaghetti Frutti Di Mare. I liked the sauce and flavor of the spaghetti much better than the crab ravioli. Finally, we were tempted by the carrot cake on the dessert menu and decided to give it a try - again nothing special and tasted store bought. Overall, I'm glad we tried the spot, but we didn't love what we got.

I randomly came across this place while waiting for my bus (the stop was right outside). I saw the food on people's tables and immediately wanted to give it a try. We ordered quite a bit, starting with appetizers. The grilled portobello mushroom was good- the mushroom itself was really good. The baked goat cheese, though, was amazing. The marinara sauce was super flavorful and paired perfectly with it. The free bread wasn't great, it was cold and hard. Honestly, I'd rather they just skip it than serve it like that. For mains, we tried their vegetarian sandwich, which was really tasty. The bread was soft enough to enjoy without feeling dry or chewy. We also went for three pastas: Penne Funghi Jalapeño Gnocchi Ravioli The jalapeño gnocchi was hands-down the winner. Definitely recommend trying it. The ravioli and penne funghi were good too. Overall, the food was great and our server was friendly with solid recommendations. The place itself is decent, not super fancy, honestly feels more like somewhere I'd order from at home rather than sit down for a long meal. Prices were fair and we got to try a good variety. If you're in the mood for pasta and don't want to overthink it, this spot is worth checking out.

A Delicious Surprise After a Disappointment After showing up at Soul Prime and finding it closed, I decided to try this restaurant instead -- and what a great choice that turned out to be! The host was excellent, walking me through the menu, explaining how the ravioli would be made from scratch, and even offering to add shrimp. He also suggested mixing the red and pesto sauces, which was absolutely delicious. I had zero regrets about my meal. The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. On top of that, the atmosphere was exciting -- I loved being able to watch the chefs cook, with flames leaping from the pans right in front of us. What started as a disappointment turned into a truly enjoyable dining experience. Great service, great food, and a lively energy -- I'll definitely be back!

First time customer. Pros: -nice staff -easy to get a table around the dinner hour mid-week -not much wait time between time of ordering and getting food -red sangria was decent Cons: -while red sangria was tasty, there wasn't much of it, so much of it was just ice -pasta was not good - hardly ate it as it was not that hot temperature wise and bread was inedible - felt like I almost broke a tooth just trying to chew it I'm giving the place a C+ (2.5 stars would be more accurate than 3).

I love this walk up only italian spot not only for watching them masterfully cook right friggin there but also the list of non stop home run dishes to choose from. Cavatappi Pollo is my favorite thing here by a long shot. Yum yum yum Service is always fast and friendly - great side recommendation with the Baked Goat. Love the communal styled tables so I could drool over everyone else's dishes.

Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. We had various diet restrictions that he was able to make great suggestions for. Everything tasted wonderful. It was nice to watch them make everything fresh, and to be able to choose whatever sauce you wanted with whichever pasta. In a cute part of town. Small but inviting.

My sister her fiancée & I came here for a quick meal after an afternoon of libations @ Cooper Hawk Esquire. We were all famished as we haven't eaten all day. Pasta Palazzo is a tiny restaurant on Halstead just south of Armitage. The restaurant was quite busy when we got there & got the last 3 seats available. Our server was the only one & quite busy handling all of the order taking, serving & clearing the tables. We ordered 4 dishes to be shared family style Grilled Calamari - 4 pieces of calamari Spaghetti Fruitti Di Mare - spaghetti w/tiny shrimps & bay scallops in watery marinara sauce Jalapeño Gnocchi - Gnocchi w/Jalapeño sauce Penne Funghi - Penne pasta cooked Al dente w/3 different mushrooms & cream sauce (by far the best dish) Kudos to our server who was handling all the tables. She was quite busy (great server - 5 stars for service). The food was ok but nothing extraordinary. The highlight of the night was when a woman walking by slowed down & stopped looking at me. This was my former co worker that I haven't seen for years. She was dining w/her husband, son & a couple of her husbands friends when she spotted me across the restaurant. It was great running into her as I haven't seen her in years

If you have seen any of my other reviews, I always get a meatball when I'm at a place that has them. They almost never live up to my expectation. But this place has the new gold standard for a meatball. It was everything you want. It is fork tender, full of flavor, no chewy ground up bits. The pizzas were authentic and thin. With fabulous house made red sauce that wasn't too thick and overwhelming. The flavor was A+ The cocktails were so good! All made from scratch with love. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. It just has that classic Chicago feel that makes the entire dining experience even better. And the drinks? So good! I highly recommend the Old Fashioned -- definitely one of my favorites. The reservation we got was for the patio, but when we arrived, they didn't have a table for us. We waited probably an extra 15 mins and then the lady was able to arrange an inside table for us. She had been getting a bit of lip from folks coming in just before us, and so she definitely seemed to be dishing out some lip herself. I think that should have been a better experience. I will acknowledge that we did appreciate a table inside eventually when the one just outside wasn't there. Our server once seated was like, amazing. To me she made up for the passive aggressive comments from before. She was so patient and well-spoken and all. Seemed like she was from a Michelin-star place. So to start, the Caesar salad was ok. What was nice in there, it had these crispy chips of some kind in the salad. Overall, the dressing could've been a bit more caesar-y. Then we also had these truffle oil mozzarella sticks and those were pretty amazing. Served with marinara sauce, which was pretty good. But the sticks themselves were like so cheesy and gooey and freshly made, it was great. Then for the mains, we had a vodka pasta and one other one. Both were vegetarian pasta options, which is great. Both had really nice flavored sauces and the pastas were also done right. I forgot to ask for crushed red pepper as some spice boost would've made things even better. Also, one of the pastas was a gluten free - and it was really good - in the sense that I never would've guessed that it was gf. It's a corn-based pasta, in case anyone wants to know. I really wish they had an eggplant parm, but unfortunately they had only chicken and veal parms, only. Lastly, and to top everything else off, we had a soft-serve almond-caramel (not the exact name) gelato. Wow, that was SO good. Nutty flavor and creamy rich. Probably the best course of the night. Just outstanding. I chose it based on ChatGPT recommendation and it was just spot ON. Definitely a place I'll come back to.

The restaurant is intimate, warm and moody in the best way - exactly the kind of place you want to settle into for a late dinner. We started with the truffle mozzarella sticks and burrata, followed by the rigatoni vodka and chicken parmesan. That chicken parm was easily one of the standout dishes of my entire Chicago trip. For dessert we had the citrus olive oil cake, and then they surprised us by gifting the table their soft serve. We absolutely did not need another bite of food at that point... and yet somehow that soft serve disappeared. It was amazing. And the service? Top notch. From beginning to end, the hospitality matched the food and atmosphere. Seven stops, a ridiculous amount of food, and Ciccio Mio managed to be the perfect finale.

The octopus surprised me because octopus can be hit or miss for me, but they did it really well! The table bread was also pretty good and cheesy. The Caesar was just fine. Nothing special but not bad (which is good coming from me since I'm not usually big on kale). Of course all of the pastas were yummy. The fusilloni was definitely my favorite from the noodle shape to the sausage and cheese. The ricotta dumplings were suuuuuper cheesy which I really liked (though I could see why others wouldn't) and had a melt in your mouth softness. The rigatoni was tasty, but kinda just tasted like a normal red sauce so would probably try something more interesting next time. We really enjoyed the chicken parm, too. The fritto misto was ok, the breading tasted like it was old or had been sitting out. Not as crispy as we'd hope. To be honest felt like frozen calamari quality. The Alla Vita chopped was pretty standard, kinda reminded me of Olive Garden salad lol. The stars of the meal were the tagliatelle and cappelletti pasta. Both were super flavorful and pasta cooked well. The bone-in ribeye was a little on the sweeter side, definitely lacked a crust and salt. I'd pass on the steak IMO. Our biggest qualm was the timing of the dishes coming out. The pasta came out 30-35 minutes after the appetizer and salad which is fine, but the steak coming out 15 minutes after the pasta kinda ruined it. We'd love to eat the entrees (steak and pasta) together, and not finish our pasta first or let it go cold then eat steak alone.. ya know? We had ordered crispy potatoes but cancelled due to the wait. Ended the night with mango passion fruit sorbet with a prosecco float. Big mistake on the prosecco float haha it was so tarte and bitter, would def recommend trying the sorbet alone!
