Stopped by on our way to New York City for brunch. We ordered short stack cc pancakes, cheddar cheese and bacon omelet and a BLT. The pancakes were dry and tasteless. The omelet was greasy, sparse, and extremely small. Was very mediocre at best. The BLT was on a diet served on a lonely plate with a pickle. When we were served I just wanted to say, never mind we're out. Must be a new manager as years ago the food was memorable and looked appetizing. Try another spot in the hood if you are looking for both taste and Presentation. read more

The Patio is a great local spot that I tend to frequent on the weekends. Whether I'm dropping in with my daughter for a short stack of silver dollar pancakes while mommy sleeps in on a Saturday morning, or stopping in for lunch with a group of friends (go for the Balboa.....melted swiss over sliced roast beef), The Patio never disappoints. My buddy Rod and I took a Rainy July 4th trip out of the city up the Taconic. We ate lunch here and it was pretty good. He had the burger and fries... Both were standard and good... Cooked to order, crispy frozen fries, freshly cooked bacon. The turkey wrap was made with home cooked turkey diced, very edible. Nice touch: the wrap was heated so one side was crispy and toasted. The gazpacho was a disappointment, though as I'm not a believer that tomato juice should be used. The gazpacho was thick, but too salty and overly plain due to the tomato juice. This place is relatively cheap, and you get what you pay for. The French toast was just thin slices of fried white bread, the huevos mexicanos was not very good, and most importantly they don't serve Bloody Mary's. I have never heard of a brunch place that doesn't serve Bloody Mary's. Will not be going back. read more

Had brunch/lunch here today. I had the cheese steak wrap w/ french fries. The wrap was very good and the french fries were very crispy which I like. The staff except for my waiter were very nice. My waiter was kind of apathetic and slow. Overall 3.5 rounds up. read more

bad service all around yesterday. sat for 15 min. before anyone came to the table. took forever to get coffee, no one brought any water, they overcharged us for bacon with our eggs, didn't bring our tomato juice and when they did it was a small instead of a large. and then it took forever to get the check. they were busy but appeared to have enough staff, who were clearly inefficient except for one waiter who saved the day. if not for him we'd still be there - the croton colonial diner is way better read more

Stopped for dinner. The place is basically a diner and could use some updating; although it appeared clean and neat. They serve alcohol, if you are interested. Service was kind of inconsistent; and the wait, even though they weren't busy, just to place our order, took about 10 minutes; we stuck to the simple things, I had a chicken BLT wrap. It was cold, but maybe it's supposed to be like that. Waaay too much italian dressing, which really ruined it. I had a side salad that was fresh and pretty good. My wife had the buffalo chicken wrap; she requested the dressing on the side, which was smart, but they forgot the dressing and it was never addressed, so it didn't matter. My daughter had the cheesesteak "wedge" which was supposed to be on a gyro roll, but the roll was just a sub roll. She said it was good. The french fries were a stand out; very tasty and served hot. They are getting five stars from me because the eggs were perfectly poached. Solid whites, runny yokes, and no taste of vinegar. The bacon was also lean and crispy. I can't speak for the rest of the menu but ill be back for another (very cheap) breakfast. read more

We just moved to briarcliff and this is the only place in walking distance to get breakfast-fresh oj very quick service and overall it's clean. It's a diner though so don't expect anything beyond that. read more

I didn't know what to make of this place, is it Italian, Mexican, or Spanish food, or is it an ice cream parlor? I tried the Camarones appetizer, which was good, the bread they gave us came with a lemony dipping oil, which tasted interesting. Main course was Linguini Carbonara, it was good, but not the way im used to it. Other dishes I got to try were all good, but not a wow factor. Also, if your not used to drinking the local tap water, it tastes really off. P.S. They dont accept credit cards. read more

Solid spot for Saturday morning breakfast. Have not had the new Sunday Brunch but me and family have been coming here for several years for a big american breakfast when nobody wants to cook or clean at home. I like breakfast. It's my favorite meal of the day, no matter what time. So we hit here at around 2 on a Saturday. Surprisingly empty. There's your standard fare of breakfast, brunch and sandwiches. I went with the chef special ... 3 poached eggs on English muffins with Hollandaise, tomato, spinach and fresh fruit on the side. The sauce was obviously from-scratch because it was just too damn good. The little lady went with one of the specials ... awesomeness. Eggs, spicy peppers, chorizo sausage, cheese and a few other Spanish flairs to really kick it up in a wrap. The service was spot on, we never felt like they were overbearing but they were right there when I needed more water (I'm a water hog). If you're looking for somewhere good for breakfast (and have REALLY grown tired of diners) then definitely check this place out. read more

A fine restaurant serving delicious food...both Mediterranean and traditional American. Always fresh, prepared well and at a really good price especially for generous portions. I came here first over ten years ago with my husband and children on Saturday mornings for breakfast. Now that my husband has passed, and my children have established their own residences in other states,I still love the good home style cooking at the Patio. My wife and I just moved to the area and were driving around and saw this place. We went in for lunch and were very pleasantly surprised. Service was excellent, food was delivered very quickly and was really good. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is the atmosphere is kinda old and worn out. Clean for sure, just tired looking. Went to The Patio for the first time last week. Thought it was a good location, cool converted firehouse, and the food was good. Ice cream was delicious! My 2 issues with it were: 1) The staff that night barely spoke any English, so it was difficult to communicate with them. I asked one of them about one of the ice cream flavors and he had no idea what I was saying. For this one reason, I may not go back. 2) We were quite surprised to hear that they didn't accept credit cards when we went to pay the bill. Thankfully we had just enough cash between the 2 of us that we were able to pay. Just very surprising to find a restaurant that doesn't accept credit cards (and they didn't seem to make that clear when you come in). read more

Love taking my wife, daughter and son here. The guys are so friendly and always on top of things. Same staff for years means a well run place to me. And they really really love the kids. Every kid gets a free ice cream after their meal. A great incentive to them to finish their hearty breakfast or lunch! Don't change, it's perfect. Small village friendliness yet only 45 mins from NYC. This is why I live and love here. read more

Went here for breakfast/brunch on a Sunday. This is a basic, older diner, nothing more, nothing less. The prices aren't bad, service is fast but overall nothing special. One dish the huevos mexicanos were pretty good, didn't come with the salsa it was supposed to which it really needed. The pancakes were probably the worst I've had dining out. Basically a greasy spoon luncheonette/diner. Food is basic, place is basic. Not awful, but nothing special.
