What a great experience! We had a lovely dinner here. The drink we had was called Providence and it was sweet, unique, and delicious. There was a nice dinner week menu with great deals for $40 (a three course meal). I decided to get the chicken n waffles though and it was a wonderful choice. The bacon was nice and crispy. The waitress Christine was friendly and helpful. She gave us great suggestions and fantastic service. The atmosphere was clean and beautiful. Clean bathrooms. Highly recommend!

We drove by and thought this might be a place to stop and have brunch especially on a rainy day we weren't expecting visiting from AZ. Sean was our favorite exceptionally amazing person waiting on us that made our experience that much more special during our stay in Providence. I'm sorry Sean if I spelled your name incorrectly. I should asked. He was the best. The host which I failed to ask his name was also very attentive to us which was unnecessary but appreciated. He should also be praise for excellent service. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about The Patio. If I were a local, this would be my place to be. The food, cocktails and service were exceptional by far and I've been to many foodie places. I would come here over and over again. Thank you.

I really like The Patio! I was so happy to see this restaurant have life again, The Grange was here previously and was amazing. I have eaten at the patio for brunch and dinner, it's always very good, space is clean, and staff are friendly. They have really good brunch cocktails and options for different dietary restrictions. I recently went to the patio to celebrate their 3 year anniversary. Food was good. My only complaint is that they didn't put out enough plates, napkins, and utensils for the appetizers they had out for the event. I'm going back for brunch in a few weeks when Sam is bartending!

Another fun night at The Patio on Broadway! This time a special event with my girlfriends to celebrate the restaurant's 3rd birthday party and it was such a great time. The provided lite bites were delicious and we each sampled a few different cocktails throughout the evening that were all fresh, fun and perfect for kicking off summer in the city. The atmosphere here is always upbeat and welcoming. Everyone on staff was delightful and Mike, per usual, was his amazing self making sure everyone was having a great time. Congratulations to The Patio team on 3 years! Cheers to another fun summer season in Providence. We'll definitely be back soon.

I came here with some friends after an event across the street. I only had time for a quick drink and chose the lavenade. I was impressed with the bright magenta color. My first instinct was to lick the sugar and lavender rim, followed by taking a sip. There is a perfect balance between lemonade and lavender; neither overpowers each other which I was very thankful for. The initial flavor is lemonade, followed by a lavender flavor that kicks in halfway through. Shama waited our table and did a fantastic job of bringing us everything we needed.

Nice spot for brunch. We will definitely come back but it's not likely to become my favorite spot. We were able to get reservations the night before and it seemed like there were a few open bar spots for a 10-11am seating on Saturday. Our waitress was very friendly and checked in regularly. Street parking only but it's not too challenging to find a spot. The food was tasty, it seems like they have their savory dishes in lock but their sweet plates are just ok. I got the focaccia CBR, which was good. The focaccia was herby and chewy but I'm not sure I would call it a fococcia. My friend got the breakfast burrito and said it was excellent! My husband got the short rib benedict and it was SO good, however I recommend finding someone to split that and another dish with as the flavor gets to be a lot for a whole dish. The last person got the s'mores French toast and felt it was just ok. The coffees looked better than they tasted, perhaps the cocktail versions are better.

I went in to talk to Sampson, very good bartender! Everything was on point. I ordered the Lavenade and substituted mezcal for the vodka. It was so good it could drive you to moon. Very refreshing cocktail, made with lavender simple syrup and dels lemonade. I wish I could order one to go!

Food/Drinks: I genuinely love going to this spot for the food and drinks. I've gone three times, and each time the food has been top-tier, especially the Milanese and rigatoni. It's genuinely so delicious, the portions are great, a bit larger than other restaurants, and extremely filling. I have to say the best part has been discovering this coconut cocktail. I wish I knew the exact name, but it's definitely coconut something. This drink is beyond strong. My husband and I have gone there and gotten two each, and let's just say that by the time we left, we needed an Uber. So strong and so delicious. I haven't tried their brunch yet, but if it's as good as their dinner menu, this is definitely the spot! Location: This location has dim lighting for dinner and is very modern and spacious. It has a bar, and it's just very nice overall. I would definitely dress business casual. This is a perfect place for special occasions, meeting up with coworkers, or even a date. They do not offer valet, and I recently found out they have parking, but whenever we've gone, it's always been full, so we've had to find street parking. I won't lie the street parking can be a bit tricky and sometimes requires a bit of a walk. Service: The service has always been great. The last waiter we had took a bit longer with some of our items, so he didn't charge us for one of our drinks, which was so nice of him. Honestly, we didn't even feel like we were waiting that long. Wish I remembered his name to give him credit for his kindness. I will definitely be going back, no questions about it!

Came for a friend's birthday & they were able to accommodate a large party of 15 but not without pushback about booking a private event. Service was ok, waiters seemed more concerned about pushing alcohol drinks than anything else (had to ask for water several times). Food was delicious with portions being on the larger side but there's a discrepancy between menu prices and what's actually charged. Also 22% mandatory gratuity for subpar service with parties over 6 is ridiculous.

wonderful experience! The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Every dish was well prepared, and you can tell they take pride in the quality of their food. The restaurant is very clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. One thing that really stood out to me was how spotless and modern the bathrooms were. It's always nice to see a restaurant pay attention to cleanliness in every area. Great food, a clean environment, and excellent attention to detail make this a place I'll happily return to. I definitely recommend giving Patio Restaurant a try!

This is now one of our favorite restaurants in Providence! You definitely need to try the chicken confit and pan seared scallops! The duck meatballs are also delicious as well. The outdoor patio section is also great and makes it an ideal spot for a brunch or dinner this summer. You definitely need to come to Patio on Broadway soon!

We went in yesterday for Providence restaurant week. It's a set menu with three courses. We came in with a few people and it took over an hour to get the first course and then another 40 minutes to get the second course and at the two hour mark one person in our party had to leave to get to a meeting and so they boxed up their meal and just had to leave. Only one person had to leave and box up their dessert but they brought out all of our desserts boxed and so we awkwardly had to just leave instead of finishing our food there. we felt like we couldn't stay to finish the prefix menu once it was boxed so we just headed out. The food was good, but took so long and some of it wasn't even warm, which was odd. Additionally they messed up the order and had to remake one persons food. The restaurant had a very large party that was there at the same time as us, and I think they used most of their manpower to cater to the super large party, which makes sense, but I think we were a little left behind there. They took some of our drinks off of the bill but honestly with how terrible it was we probably should've asked to comp the meal for the person that couldn't even stay and had to leave. Probably wouldn't come back because of this, but would be willing to try their breakfast which looks pretty good. Their place is cute and our server was very very nice. But when you're paying for a prefix menu, it's a little bit of a bummer to just be left sitting there for so long. ** update: their owner reached out to apologize today which was very sweet. We will have to try you guys again for breakfast some time.

We have friends in the area who had heard of the place, but had never gone, so we made a reservation (2.5 months ahead for a 4 some on a Friday, so it must be special...) and finally got to see what the fuss was about. (Still wondering.) We started with what ended up being a high point, "beets and frites." A very interesting take with a lot of frites, not enough beets (5 slices under the stack), and about 2 tablespoons of the lemon aioli. The few tastes of the 3-part combination were great. The frites, crisp and soooo thin, were good on their own. The olive oil that came with the bread was very green (young), with a strong flavor but I was surprised that there was no pepper grinder. I had the (special) cod, which came with a lazy prep of broccoli rabe and OK potatoes. The fish was cooked well, moist and fresh, but I'm still not sure what the flavorless green topping was. Our table also had oxtail ravioli, which consisted of tasty little purses of thin pasta and nicely flavored meat inside. (Probably the best entree, and gained the second star.) The eggplant was unremarkable in terms of flavor of the sauce, and the veggies that went into it did not seem to be very fresh. For dessert, we had rhubarb peach tart and chocolate bread pudding. The tart was mostly crust and very shy on the rhubarb. The bread pudding apparently used Hershey's chocolate powder which was not a great flavor and left a grainy texture. The server was not very friendly, somewhat pushy, and insisted that we order the dessert when we ordered everything else. Allegedly, this was because the dessert is made to order, but we had the impression that it was to expedite our table time. Even so, with all that "careful planning" only 3 of the 4 entrees made an entry and we waited quite a while for the 4th to show up, even after asking. Overall, not a good experience and not a place I'll plan to revisit.

Our server, Dwight, seemed rushed and inattentive throughout the evening. From the start, we felt like an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. We asked if we could move to a nearby table that was already set for eight, as our current table was cramped and located in a very tight walkway where people constantly brushed past us. We were told the table was reserved, yet from the time we arrived just before 6:00 PM until we left at 8:45 PM, no one was ever seated there. It was frustrating, especially since the cramped space made our dining experience uncomfortable. Service overall was lacking. Dwight rarely checked on us, and when we tried to get his attention for drinks or assistance, he would quickly pass by before we had the chance to ask. It often felt like we were bothering him. We were not offered water, and getting additional beverages was unnecessarily difficult. The food itself was just okay, nothing memorable. When we ordered dessert and cappuccino, the cappuccino tasted like it was made with spoiled milk, but again, no one came back to check on us, so we had no opportunity to address it. The most disappointing moment was the birthday acknowledgment. We asked for a dessert with a candle to celebrate an 85th birthday, and instead received a plate with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate, a small amount of whipped cream, and a candle. It was underwhelming and, honestly, a bit embarrassing. We would have gladly paid for a proper dessert. Jacob the busser was the only attentive one there. We have come to Pane e Vino every year for family birthdays because we've always enjoyed the atmosphere, but after this experience, we will not be returning.

Our favorite drink for a night out is a dirty martini extra dirty. The martinis here are NEVER cold enough. They are legit luke warm. So we have learned to ask for them extra shaken here. Not only were our martinis still not cold, but they were clear aka not dirty. We sent them back based on the color and our server brought the same martinis back with a side of olive juice. After trying them with the extra juice they had a dirty water taste to them, almost like the ice used to shake them was dirty, which is ironic considering they were barely cold. I hate to do this but we sent them back again and let the server know they simply didn't taste good and also were not cold enough. He ended up going back and making them himself and they were much better but STILL. It shouldn't be this difficult for a bartender to make a very standard drink. The food unfortunately was also very mid. The table behind us actually sent their food back twice as well and the manager had to come over. It's also worth noting I put in the reservation it was my husband's birthday and there was no acknowledgement of it at all. This restaurant is meant to be a splurge for a nice dinner out and honestly was not up to par at all. $300 dinner for two and I was extremely disappointed. Honestly don't think we will be back.

Costantino's Venda Bar & Ristorante falls squarely into that second category for me. Years ago, when I was living in Providence, Friday nights often meant a trip to Federal Hill and a pizza from Venda to take home. It became such a regular thing that the drive over felt automatic. Even now, whenever I'm on the Hill and trying to decide where to eat, this is usually one of the first places that comes to mind. I've eaten here enough times that I honestly think I've worked my way through just about everything on the menu. That's not an exaggeration. The impressive part is that I can't think of a meal that left me disappointed. Whether it's pasta, seafood, pizza, or one of their specials, the food is consistently good. In a restaurant business where consistency can be surprisingly hard to find, that's worth recognizing. The wine list deserves a mention of its own. If you're a wine enthusiast, you could spend a lot of time exploring the selections here. I know I certainly have, and I'm afraid to calculate how much money I've spent doing exactly that over the years. No regrets, though. The staff behind the bar know what they're talking about and are always happy to make recommendations. The same goes for the cocktail and spirits selection. Friendly, knowledgeable, and never pretentious. Don't skip dessert, either. Every time I tell myself I'm too full, I somehow end up looking at the dessert menu anyway. One thing I appreciate is the parking situation. Anyone familiar with Federal Hill knows parking can sometimes feel like a competitive sport. The valet service is especially helpful on busy Friday and Saturday evenings. If valet isn't your thing, there are independent lots nearby, and occasionally you'll get lucky and find a spot on the street. During the warmer months, sitting outside in DePasquale Square is one of the best dining experiences in Providence. Good food, a glass of wine, live music drifting through the square, and people enjoying the evening. It's hard not to have a good time. One practical note: I'm a cash guy, so it doesn't affect me personally, but friends have mentioned there's a processing fee when paying by card. Just something to be aware of before the check arrives. It's also a great place to stop for an afternoon drink before heading elsewhere in the city. Whether you're settling in for a full dinner or just grabbing a glass of wine and people-watching for a while, Costantino's Venda Bar & Ristorante continues to be one of the most reliable spots on Federal Hill. Some restaurants have great nights. This place has been delivering great years.
