We recently had a nice dinner at The Patio on Broadway. I made reservations using Open Table and the day before I got a note from the restaurant regarding the location of their private parking lot. That was very useful. When we arrived, our server was very pleasant and asked if we wanted any drinks. We ordered a few and minutes later we ordered our meals. We shared two apps, the duck meatballs and the fried calamari. The former was a bit gamey but delicious. The latter was a bit too well done but still delicious. I got a crusted cod dish and my husband got the tenderloin. I loved mine, it was subtle and flaky. Very flavorful. The steak was tender and well seasoned. Great food, great service. read more

Really good place. The Fried Calamari was fantastic. Beware of the Avocado Toast... the "toast" is like 1-1/4" thick. Real good though, and my daughter loved the somewhat sweet salad dressing on the arugula and spinach on the side salad. The Benedicts were really good too, and mine was the Crispy Chicken. I wasn't expecting a spicy Benedict, but it was mixed with buffalo sauce. I did like it though, and they're really into something with the pickled onions. Great combo. Even the home fries were good. Loved my iced tea with some simple sugar. The wife discovered that the base of the knives are magnetic, some stronger than others. That was interesting. Another fun night at The Patio on Broadway! This time a special event with my girlfriends to celebrate the restaurant's 3rd birthday party and it was such a great time. The provided lite bites were delicious and we each sampled a few different cocktails throughout the evening that were all fresh, fun and perfect for kicking off summer in the city. The atmosphere here is always upbeat and welcoming. Everyone on staff was delightful and Mike, per usual, was his amazing self making sure everyone was having a great time. We drove by and thought this might be a place to stop and have brunch especially on a rainy day we weren't expecting visiting from AZ. Sean was our favorite exceptionally amazing person waiting on us that made our experience that much more special during our stay in Providence. I'm sorry Sean if I spelled your name incorrectly. I should asked. He was the best. The host which I failed to ask his name was also very attentive to us which was unnecessary but appreciated. He should also be praise for excellent service. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about The Patio. If I were a local, this would be my place to be. I really like The Patio! I was so happy to see this restaurant have life again, The Grange was here previously and was amazing. I have eaten at the patio for brunch and dinner, it's always very good, space is clean, and staff are friendly. They have really good brunch cocktails and options for different dietary restrictions. I recently went to the patio to celebrate their 3 year anniversary. Food was good. My only complaint is that they didn't put out enough plates, napkins, and utensils for the appetizers they had out for the event. I came here with some friends after an event across the street. I only had time for a quick drink and chose the lavenade. I was impressed with the bright magenta color. My first instinct was to lick the sugar and lavender rim, followed by taking a sip. There is a perfect balance between lemonade and lavender; neither overpowers each other which I was very thankful for. The initial flavor is lemonade, followed by a lavender flavor that kicks in halfway through. Shama waited our table and did a fantastic job of bringing us everything we needed. read more

Nice spot for brunch. We will definitely come back but it's not likely to become my favorite spot. We were able to get reservations the night before and it seemed like there were a few open bar spots for a 10-11am seating on Saturday. Our waitress was very friendly and checked in regularly. Street parking only but it's not too challenging to find a spot. The food was tasty, it seems like they have their savory dishes in lock but their sweet plates are just ok. I got the focaccia CBR, which was good. The focaccia was herby and chewy but I'm not sure I would call it a fococcia. My friend got the breakfast burrito and said it was excellent! My husband got the short rib benedict and it was SO good, however I recommend finding someone to split that and another dish with as the flavor gets to be a lot for a whole dish. The last person got the s'mores French toast and felt it was just ok. The coffees looked better than they tasted, perhaps the cocktail versions are better. read more

The restaurant is very clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. One thing that really stood out to me was how spotless and modern the bathrooms were. Food/Drinks: I genuinely love going to this spot for the food and drinks. I've gone three times, and each time the food has been top-tier, especially the Milanese and rigatoni. It's genuinely so delicious, the portions are great, a bit larger than other restaurants, and extremely filling. I have to say the best part has been discovering this coconut cocktail. I wish I knew the exact name, but it's definitely coconut something. This drink is beyond strong. My husband and I have gone there and gotten two each, and let's just say that by the time we left, we needed an Uber. So strong and so delicious. I haven't tried their brunch yet, but if it's as good as their dinner menu, this is definitely the spot! Location: This location has dim lighting for dinner and is very modern and spacious. It has a bar, and it's just very nice overall. I would definitely dress business casual. This is a perfect place for special occasions, meeting up with coworkers, or even a date. They do not offer valet, and I recently found out they have parking, but whenever we've gone, it's always been full, so we've had to find street parking. I won't lie the street parking can be a bit tricky and sometimes requires a bit of a walk. Service: The service has always been great. The last waiter we had took a bit longer with some of our items, so he didn't charge us for one of our drinks, which was so nice of him. Honestly, we didn't even feel like we were waiting that long. Wish I remembered his name to give him credit for his kindness. I will definitely be going back, no questions about it! read more

Came for a friend's birthday & they were able to accommodate a large party of 15 but not without pushback about booking a private event. Service was ok, waiters seemed more concerned about pushing alcohol drinks than anything else (had to ask for water several times). Food was delicious with portions being on the larger side but there's a discrepancy between menu prices and what's actually charged. This was probably my most disappointing dining experience I've had in Providence. It took 30 minutes for our first round of drinks to come out- my partner's Bloody Mary was warm because all of the ice had melted. No one checked-in on our table regarding another round of drinks... for the Brunch with Bubbles service...... empty drink glasses sitting for 15+ minutes, waitress was no where to be seen to flag down. When we finally ordered our 2nd round of drinks, & my partner both ordered a draft beer thinking this would've been a safer bet in terms of receiving a drink that is actually cold.... Wrong again. The beers sat on the bar for 11 minutes & were brought to the table warm. Calamari appetizer was lukewarm at best. Tasted great but why wasn't it plates & brought to the table when it was hot? How do I know that it wasn't cooked 2 hours ago, and not 10 minutes ago?? It was like our table was completely forgotten about, despite the dining area (& bar) being filled. Spoke to GM about this, as we were waiting with empty plates and empty drinks for 10-15 minutes, attempting to get anyone's attention for the check.. GM was understanding thankfully, and helped with our bill. Overall, I am very confused at the entire experience. Maybe it would be better to visit not on a Sunday during brunch service? read more

First time here and will come back however I wouldn't get the Avocado sandwich again as the bread ratio was huge compared to the avo which was a spread. We went in yesterday for Providence restaurant week. It's a set menu with three courses. We came in with a few people and it took over an hour to get the first course and then another 40 minutes to get the second course and at the two hour mark one person in our party had to leave to get to a meeting and so they boxed up their meal and just had to leave. Only one person had to leave and box up their dessert but they brought out all of our desserts boxed and so we awkwardly had to just leave instead of finishing our food there. we felt like we couldn't stay to finish the prefix menu once it was boxed so we just headed out. The food was good, but took so long and some of it wasn't even warm, which was odd. Additionally they messed up the order and had to remake one persons food. The restaurant had a very large party that was there at the same time as us, and I think they used most of their manpower to cater to the super large party, which makes sense, but I think we were a little left behind there. They took some of our drinks off of the bill but honestly with how terrible it was we probably should've asked to comp the meal for the person that couldn't even stay and had to leave. Probably wouldn't come back because of this, but would be willing to try their breakfast which looks pretty good. Their place is cute and our server was very very nice. But when you're paying for a prefix menu, it's a little bit of a bummer to just be left sitting there for so long. ** update: their owner reached out to apologize today which was very sweet. This was my first time trying duck, and I'm so glad I did. We ordered the duck meatballs as an appetizer and they were amazing. They came with ricotta and this sweet jam/marmalade on top that tied everything together perfectly. I honestly could've made a meal out of those alone. Of course I ordered the bolognese for my entrée, and I practically cleaned the plate. It was so rich and comforting. Had a great time at the Patio! Classic brunch/ lunch spot. Made a reservation ahead of time and had no issues getting seated. Interesting note is they have a huge mirror in between their single stall bathrooms and we were seated right across from the mirror, so half our party could see their reflection . Like most new hot spots I wanted to let the hype die down a bit before we tried the Patio. We were having some drinks in the neighborhood and decided to give it a try even though we didn't have a reservation. Went in at 5:30 on a Saturday and were able to get a table but we were put on a 1 hour timer as to not spoil someone else's later reservation. Some people might have been put off by this, but I appreciated how instead of turning us away they gave us the option. I'm a man of my word and we finished in exactly 1 hour. Our server was amazing and punctual knowing full well that we were on a timer. Beautifully modern inside the ambiance was perfect and the open air was refreshing aside from the weed, cigarettes and loud motorcycles (obviously not the restaurant's fault). Shout out to PVD for being gross but what city isn't? The chicken and waffles were outstanding. The crunch of the pearl sugar balanced by the savory fried chicken and cheese was incredibly palate pleasing. The scallops could have used a touch more sear but the risotto was cooked perfectly. My wife's cosmo was tasty and the right size for the price. They had some local craft on tap although the bartender couldn't tell a raspberry gosé from a kolsch. Thanks again to the team for making it possible to sneak in on a busy night. I'd definitely recommend a reservation especially if you have a party of 4 or more. read more

The staff here were all great. The food was decent. The music was very loud inside and I would opt for outside if I went again. The chicken and waffles was very tasty. The highlight was definitely the waffle and I'd love to try the brunch here next time. The chicken was decent. The lobster roll was mid tier. The fries didn't look great when they came out but actually tasted better than they looked. There was a decent amount of lobster with a nice flavor. The bread was not good. It seemed to be toasted rather than griddled. It was very bready and I mostly ate the lobster. I would give a 3.5 star if I could but the waffle made me do 4 since we can't give half stars. I won't be rushing back, but I will likely try the brunch at some point. read more

This place was In walking distance from my hotel so I walked over for dinner. Came in on a Tuesday night so it wasn't super busy, but the noise level was a little bit louder than I anticipated due to the music. Nonetheless, I was still able to hold an entire phone conversation with my earbuds while sitting at the bar so that didn't disrupt my vibe, just something to note. The bartender/server Kayla was friendly. She gave options of some of her favorite and most frequently ordered items on the menu--- The chicken and waffle sandwich and shrimp scampi. I decided to go with a shrimp scampi which was pretty good, it could have used a little more seasoning but honestly, I'd order it again and just add a little salt pepper, lemon. Brunch: my friend and I got the breakfast sandwich and lox bagel - both were very delicious and filling! A lot of brunch items on the menu too. Nothing too special, but still very tasty! Make reservations if you're coming on the weekend because it got crowded quickly. Dinner: loved the crispy duck meatballs (great texture!), and the waffle and chicken with huge cutes of thick bacon. Last meal in Providence before heading home. I was looking forward to going back to my home and having my normal routine back in NYC after a long Labor Day weekend, but also sad to leave my friend. The feeling of leaving a friend when he is adjusting to a new environment was a bit saddening, but if I can get the energy to endure the long train ride, it is not too bad. We arrived on time and was told our table wasnt ready yet - apparently the people there before us were lingering, not the restaraunts fault, we were seated in about 5 minutes. It is very loud in there, and very croweded, also super warm. Our waitress was nice, but the bar and kitchen were both very slow. It took about 20 minutes to get our drinks, a glass of wine and a soda. We ordered a few appetizers to split instead of entree's. The food was pretty good - small portions, but overall not bad. We got the duck meatballs, which were kind of dry and bland, Im not sure I would order them again. The prosciutto wrapped shrimp was really good, as was the calamari. This was the first time we dialed here and decided to do so taking advantage of restaurant week where the menu was $39 per person. The place was pleasant with tables well based well spaced the decor was rustic, wood, wooden, informal but comfortable. We started with different appetizers: the duck meatballs, the salad and two of us had the seared tuna, which was excellent. For the main course three people had the braised short ribs while I had the smoked duck breast, a dish I often order when it's available. Unfortunately it was. It looked good, but was somewhat insipid and tasteless. We ended up with different desserts: the cheesecake a rich chocolate torte, and two people had Feuss fruit dots stop. The desserts were all delicious. Oh, this was accompanied by a bottle of Noble de Avolo, a Sicilian red wine by Sikle which had too much tanin and was a not enjoyable. (I should have sent it back but didn't- my bad.) I will not order it again, although Sicilian wines are usually quite palatable. I ended with a rather strong espresso, which was somewhat bitter. Our server waiter who was pleasant did a good job, even though it was her first day at the restaurant. The check came to over $50 per person, not including the tip. I would have given another half to one star but I did not because of the duck. We will try the place again as the normal menu had a good number of choices from which we could select. read more

I made a reservation for two people but when we arrived, friends wanted to join, so I asked if we could get a table for four and received an attitude and were refused. So, I went back to open table to make a different reservation and there were plenty of slots available (and the restaurant had many open tables as well). Manager reluctantly let us have a table for four in the corner & he can only do that if they're really coming. Well then. Food: the board was good but how can you ruin a board? Oyster's lacked flavor and my ribeye tasted frozen to cook. Didn't taste fresh bc it was tough and dry. Did. Not. Enjoy it. Also asked for medium rare and it came out medium.
