Let me start by saying I'm Jamaican, raised in NY, and come from a long line of bakers. Since moving to California, I've pretty much resorted to making my own (and please... they are not empanadas). I came across The Patty Shop on IG and was excited to try it, especially after learning they're originally from NY. The space itself is nicely decorated, and I appreciated the touch of a domino table, it gave a bit of that familiar island vibe. I ordered two patties (veggie and spinach) along with coco bread, and the total came out to nearly $20. One thing that stood out right away was the wait time; it felt more like I was waiting on a cooked food order rather than a quick grab-and-go item, which is how patties are typically served in Jamaica and NY. Unfortunately, the food didn't meet expectations. The patties did not taste fresh, (they were not naked that morning and I was in at 12noon) and the coco bread was close to stale and had been reheated, which really shouldn't be necessary. At this price point, I expected much better quality and freshness. They do offer a selection of D&G sodas in a cooler, which was nice to see, and I noticed other menu items like mac and cheese being prepared. There is also a parking lot out front, which is convenient. Will I be back? Probably not. I'll stick to making my own patties and coco bread.

Updated review: This place has gone way down since the last time I went a couple of years ago. No one greeted us when we came in. We weren't asked to wait while the cashier/cook helped another customer either. We ordered the grilled cheese that was on the menu but was told that they did not have pepper Jack cheese but could substitute with mozzarella cheese. The sandwiches were supposed to be made with ciabatta bread but when we got them, they were just on regular slices of wheat bread. The bread was extremely dry and tasted like cardboard. Had we known they wouldn't be made on ciabatta, we might have ordered something else. So essentially, we paid $10 each for a tasteless grilled Cheese we could've made better at home. The dining area seemed run down. Bottom line, over priced, from The $5 can of juice to the $10 cheese sandwich. Not recommended.

My Yelp partner in Thyme mentioned 'the party wagon' and I was so confused, while traveling through Burbank looking for burgers, I stumbled upon the Patty stop, the storefront for the Patty wagon-- the service was cool, I guess it was the owner who helped us. It wasn't any one in there this particular Friday night and I was happy with that. I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich but he was so unenthused to make it, his look encouraged me to change my order. So I went with the jerk chicken stuffed patty, and he responded "I'm sure you'll like it better than the pesto". And he ain't lie. My first time having a STUFFED patty, it was pretty spicy but made on the spot so it was fresh, If I ever make a trip out to Burbank again, I'll definitely pull up !

This place is impeccably delicious and the people are so nice. I got the jerk bowl and it was hands down the best jerk chicken I've had in my life. Lovingly prepared just for you, and you can tell. Holyyy Fiiiire!! This legit. One bite of the jerk bowl and I was in NY. But I'm in Burbank, wuuut. This the kind of dish that I will no way listen to some influencer in West LA talk like they know flavorful food. Like at first bite, it zapped my brain to some memory a decade ago. Smoky and the type of spicy that chilis, peppercorns, and curry deliver. What exactly do they put and how they made it? I dunno. But my gahhd, please do not change the spiciness for people. Be your real spicy self you delish bowl. Look when I go outside in 2026, I want to know quickly who someone is and this bowl kept it real about what it is. Like bam! Jerk chicken in yer face. Let me start by saying I was very skeptical about this place. I love beef patties. I'm from New York. I grew up eating beef patties with cheese and CoCo bread and getting them on Jamaica Avenue in Queens. I know a good beef patty when I taste one. My husband kept passing this place when we moved to Burbank and suggested we pull up. When we got there. I saw the exterior and honestly it reminded me of a food truck. When we got inside I was like oh we need more decor; we need more of a look. We need more of a vibe. My expectations were getting lower, but I decided to give it a try. I ordered a bunch of patties and two different kinds of stuffed patties. I believe I had the Philly cheesesteak stuffed patty and the chopped cheese patty. Maybe it was like the New Yorker or something; anyway, it took a while for the food to come out. I'm talking maybe 30 minutes. But whatever things happen. It didn't look like they had a lot of business that afternoon. I got the food and I was like please make it work. Let me tell y'all these patties were delicious. They got the meat right in the beef patty. It was nicely ground and soft and warm and spicy just delicious. I also love the chopped cheese stuffed patty. I've never really had anything like that, but I tried it and it was just delightful. I love the lettuce and tomatoes in there and how it all came together like a little cute Panini. I wasn't a big fan of the Philly cheesesteak stuffed patty however, I could see how some people might like it. I don't think I'll be getting that again. I will definitely be returning to this establishment. It seems like a cool place to get like 12 patties for a birthday party or something like that. The only reason it's getting four stars from me would be the decor. It needs something and needs more and I also felt like it took a little long to get my patties, but even though it took a while once I got them totally worth it. The food was great. I'll be back.

My current favorite sport for my buddy and I. Cant begin to explain how great of an experience it has been going to Lemon Leaf Cafe. Currently watching my food with clean eating, and man oh man here at Lemon Lead there is a vast menu of amazing food that is clean and healthy. It is so hard to go out and eat and feel it's clean but here it's no problem there is so much to choose for and you cannot go wrong. The bowls are all filling and tasteful and very well crafted. The pretzel sandwich is one of the BEST sandwiches i've ever had. I don't think i've event tried a sandwich made with pretzel but in not mad about it. Lastly, once you enter you are greeted by the sweetest lady who is so kind and the chef who is always so friendly and great at conversation. Not sure if they are the owners but do a great job at running the shop. The chef knows that my friend and i are looking over our diet so he puts the extra effort to make sure we are getting what we want. The last time we went he gave us a complementary carrot cake for free for us to try which was the nicest thing and we greatly appreciated it. The website is down/unsecured which I don't like cuz it would be nice to place an online order. But I popped inside in person and I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the meal. Very healthy and I like the beet sauce. I ordered the Thai bowl with chicken based on the recommendation by the employee and it was good. Wow! Guilt free healthy yummy food with amazing flavors! I am definitely gonna come back again! Don't be fooled by the bare decor of the place, just go in and you'll find welcoming people behind the counter who serve some delicious goodness! I was craving for (and badly needed) some veggies and found this place by searching for "salads." Of course once I looked at the menu I wanted more than just veggies... No worries though! As the Street Corn bowl with brown rice, corn, pico de Gallo, zucchini, carrots, mushrooms, avocado was so wholesome and tasty and fulfilling I feel no guilt whatsoever! I thought it was impressing that I even found the carrot cubes to be enjoyable! The salads also look great from the photos on here, next time i shall try some! I came for an early Saturday lunch and no one else was here. So it's nice n quiet n peaceful too! One more thing - there's parking! Burbank has many eateries that are street parking only and I find that annoying sometimes when I can't find a space. So I'm very happy indeed about this location! read more

I was really excited to try this place since I always drive by it everyday on my way to work. My expectations were much higher to be honest. When I walked in no one was at the front register. I stood their maybe 5 mins before I was acknowledged. The girl was rude and didn't really cared to asked me if I was ready to order she just stared at me for awhile. I asked about the Poke bowl and she told me she couldn't make it because they didn't have either Salmon or Tuna for it. Their fountain drink machine wasn't working either. I asked what was their most popular item she told me it's whatever I wanted. It was my first time here so I obviously don't know what I like or want. Not the greatest customer service. I've been a Leaf Cafe fan for a while now and have been meaning to get around to a review. I want to thank the 2 workers that are always there getting my order perfect !! Oh boy. If you want other expensive salad chains around town, just eat at the other expensive healthy food around town. Kinda ruined what was supposed to be a nice dinner with the boyfriend. There isn't much to go off of here; I get the vibe that service just doesn't care. There was a painful wait for a sandwich with zero other orders in line. The result? This is not healthy food worth instagramming, no matter what filter you put it through. And it's definitely not worth what we paid for. The kitchen didn't look organized or that clean. Parts of my salad look brown; don't think they're supposed to look that way. Plus, we're charged a fee for using a credit or debit card. I know it happens in some places, but it's just more salt in the wound for this customer. Won't be coming back. read more

Great quality, healthy food. My first time there, I had their super delicious turkey sandwich on a pretzel bun with a side salad, plus fresh pineapple lemonade. Lots of great flavor, with aioli, pickles, red onion and melted cheddar on a pretzel bun. Mixed greens side salad was lightly dressed in a tasty vinaigrette. On another visit I tried the chicken pesto sandwich on ciabatta, which was also really good. The decor is kinda sparse and utilitarian, but they're just starting out. Go for the food, not the ambience. I've been a couple of times, and the restaurant is clean and the service is friendly. The prices are perfectly fair -- ~$9 for a sandwich and side salad. Not sure what Grace M's deal was [1-star review], but not being Instagram worthy and charging a small fee for credit card purchases shouldn't garner a poor review that could hurt a business. Some people! Don't listen to grumpy Grace. The food is good here. Give it a try! (I don't review every place I visit, and this was good enough that I wanted to tell you about it. We've ordered here like 5 times in the last 2 weeks... we can't stop, and wont stop. First of all... prices. Very fair. Super fair. Chicken Pesto? Best i've ever had, and I've had many, and generally do not enjoy them. After my workers praise, i finally tried it, and here I am on Yelp now.... Peruvian steak sandwich? I'm Peruvian. I approve. Very good, though I do add extra meat. Tuna Melt? Yes daddy! Excellent!!!!!! Somehow the delivery is also faster than other places. Don't think twice, just get food here. Decided to visit this place after going to the gun store upstairs. I originally wanted the vegan burger but the lady at the counter said they didn't have any burgers. so I got the lemon leaf bowl instead. All the bowls can be made vegan and with tofu as the protein. The bowl is delicious but I am not a fan of beets so I substituted the beets out for corn. Overall I probably would come back here the next time I'm in the area. read more

I had been near the area looking for breakfast options- with the sickening loom of McDonald's artery clogging options in the background- I fortunately stumbled upon this haven of health. Ordering a deliciously prepared protein burrito, I was met with a delightful assortment of flavors as I took my first bite. We came at the end of the day and the food was still so fresh,hot & delicious! The lemon bowl was made with very fresh ingredients.The pineapple lemonade was also very fresh and so good! This is definitely one of the best places in Burbank to get a healthy breakfast/lunch.I'm so grateful we found this gem! I really recommend this spot if you're looking for something yummy & substancial. This was quite a pleasant find. Nice little hole in the wall healthy food placed tucked away in the mini-mall behind McDonalds. Simple, Organic, Inexpensive, and nicely prepared food. Order at the counter, have it brought to your table. Decent sized free parking lot, like most places in Burbank. Not fancy, but if it's a quick healthy lunch you're looking for, definitely check this place out. The people working behind the counter are all very nice and helpful, too! read more

This place is great! Because of the short walk from work I get lunch here almost everyday and I've tried almost everything on the menu and nothing has disappointed. I've even gotten enough of my coworkers into this place my boss regularly suggests it to clients who are looking to grab food in the area. The employees are incredibly nice and the service is great. While the West Valley location is small and hushed, with dark woods and muted lighting, the OG Mercado is the exact opposite: big and bright, with a bustling edge in the air as the staff navigates between eat-in diners, people ordering take-out, and still others buying items from their meat, pastry, and cheese displays. Yes, it's a real market and restaurant in one, and the energy is palpable as you browse the large menu, knowing everything is going to be very fresh and cooked to order. It's always difficult to decide between a Choripan or Steak Milanesa sandwich, but today I opted for the Choripan -- and while I deleted the lettuce & tomato that's usually on top, I added grilled onions. As I waited, I was brought fresh-baked Argentine baguette, which was crusty on the outside and pillowy on the inside, with just a touch of chew. The bread is served, of course, with Chimichurri, but also a tomato & olive oil salsa of sorts that had a light and veggie-forward flavor that offered a nice contrast to the earthy, herbaceousness of the chimi. I've learned the hard way to no overindulge on the bread and sauces, so I pulled back after one piece -- and luckily, my sandwich arrived soon after. This is a hefty Choripan, demonstrably larger than what I've had at the sister location. A very plump, butterflied and charred Argentine sausage resting on more of that bangin' baguette (the chewy center offering solid support for the fillings), and a generous helping of grilled onions. There was a patina of "grease" on the sandwich, but that's not a bad thing -- this slight oiliness was packed with flavor, adding tremendous Argentine Umami to the meal. The sausage was meaty and dense, with just a bit of fat and a very nice punch of herbs and spices, leading to an enjoyably potent flavor very specifically South American. The onions were excellently prepared: grilled to a medium firmness, the chef bringing out the natural sweetness while retaining just enough of the original, onion bite to add extra layers of taste. As if that wasn't enough, the onions were clearly cooked in a bit of spice, which gave them an extra kick of heat that blended very nicely with the spiciness of the chimichurri. This is just an excellent sandwich. Service is friendly, the entire restaurant is spic & span clean (including the restrooms), and the crowd seems genuinely happy to be where they are, eating what they're eating. The meats, cheeses, pastries, breads and empanadas on display in the market areas all look top notch and very appealing. I'll be shopping here for things to make at home, and I'll be coming back for another dine-in meal very soon. If you haven't been, you should stop by to try it for yourself. It's just so, so good!

The place is small but clean and seems good for a quick meal or takeout. When we tried the food at home, we all had the same opinion, the chicken luleh was a little too dry for our taste and not moist as a good chicken luleh should be. I've had chicken luleh many times at different restaurants and homemade, so I have a pretty good idea of how I personally like it. The food wasn't bad, but I think there is definitely some room for improvement, especially with the moisture and texture of the chicken. Overall, I would give my experience 3 stars. The place was clean and the staff was friendly, but for me, the food itself is the most important part of the rating. Unfortunately, the chicken dishes were too dry for my taste. This is simply my personal experience and preference, and I hope it can be taken as constructive feedback. I'm not saying people should avoid this place, everyone has different tastes, so I think it's still worth trying and making your own judgment. For me personally, though, the chicken dishes just didn't quite meet my expectations.

I wasn't expecting there to be so many different empanadas to choose from, so I took a while deciding. He was really patient, answered all my questions, explained the different options, and gave me some great recommendations. I ended up getting the Beef, Chili Carne, Chicken, Spicy Potato, Santa Fe Chicken, and Spinach & Cheese empanadas. They were all really good, and I liked that they let me choose from three different sauces/salsas to go with them. Everything came out quickly and was packaged really well. They even included a list showing which empanada was which, which I really appreciated since they all looked pretty similar once they were in the box. I actually came for the empanadas, but they also had fresh pasta and decided to give it a try. I'm really glad I did because it was excellent. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, the sauce was delicious, and honestly I'd come back just for the pasta. There are still a bunch of things on the menu I want to try, especially the sweet empanadas, so I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Great food, friendly people, and a really welcoming experience. I'd definitely recommend checking them out!

I ordered a dozen empanadas for the take and bake option. I love the take and bake option because it is like having freshly baked empanadas in my own kitchen! I baked them per the directions on the website and it worked perfectly. The take out window was very convenient and online ordering was easy. World Empanadas has so many empanadas flavors to choose from. I tried a bunch of flavors and I liked all of them! My favorites were the Santa Fe chicken, breakfast, spinach, and the chile con carne. They all had amazing flavor. The order came with a big serving of chimichurri and that was a nice addition to the empanadas. World Empanadas also has breakfast burritos that I am interested in trying next time. Since I don't live close, this is my new stop when I'm going to Burbank airport. World of Empanadas is amazing and I highly recommend getting their empanadas!

Habanero Mexican Grill popped up, and it turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. The menu is extensive, with everything from breakfast burritos to seafood, but we kept it simple and ordered a California burrito and three street tacos. When we ordered, we were told it would take a few extra minutes because everything was being made fresh. That was perfectly fine with us. The food came out piping hot and was absolutely delicious. The tacos were loaded with flavor, and the California burrito was so big it ended up being two meals. I happily turned the second half into lunch the next day. What really stood out, though, was the service. The gentleman working the counter was genuinely friendly from start to finish. As we were leaving, he thanked us and wished us well. It's a small thing, but those little moments stick with me. We'll definitely be back the next time we're passing through Burbank and craving Mexican food. Since the car was being washed, we looked around for a place within walking distance and happened to discover this small Italian deli nearby. They offered sandwiches and pasta dishes. Since both my mom and I love pasta, we decided to have lunch here. We ordered spaghetti with marinara sauce (no meat). When ordering, we were asked whether we wanted penne or spaghetti, and we chose spaghetti. My brother ordered the Eggplant Lasagna. Both dishes came with garlic bread, and the garlic bread was absolutely delicious. The spaghetti was so good, and the Eggplant Lasagna was equally tasty. The restaurant itself was very small, but it felt like discovering a hidden gem. I noticed photos of Hollywood stars displayed on the walls and wondered if they were pictures of celebrities who had visited the restaurant over the years. According to the information displayed inside, the restaurant has been operating since 1971, which explains why it feels like such a long-standing neighborhood favorite. The staff members were all very friendly, and I left an additional cash tip. My mom kindly treated us to lunch today using her credit card, and I am very grateful. There were, however, two downsides to our visit. First, I used the restroom and noticed that it had a bad smell there. Second, after checking in on Yelp, I noticed that the restaurant's posted closing time was 3:00 PM. We arrived around 2:30 PM for a late lunch. My brother was delayed because he had to pick up the car from the car wash and didn't arrive until around 2:45 PM. While we were still eating, one of the staff began putting chairs up and cleaning the dining room. By 3:00 PM, it felt as though they were waiting for customers to leave. The front door was left open, and the atmosphere made us feel somewhat rushed. I asked one of the staff members what time they closed, and he confirmed that they closed at 3:00 PM. We quickly packed up our remaining garlic bread to go and left shortly afterward. On a positive note, when I asked for a to-go box, they were very friendly and carefully packed everything for us. Overall, the food was delicious, and the staff was kind. However, I didn't particularly enjoy having the chairs put away and the dining room cleaned while customers were still eating. It would have been nicer if someone had simply let us know that the restaurant closed at 3:00 PM. We would have gladly finished up and left on our own. Despite that issue, I still enjoyed the food very much and was happy to discover this hidden neighborhood gem. I love Italian food, and I've dined at many upscale Italian restaurants with elegant atmospheres over the years. While this place is small and simple, the food was truly excellent and full of flavor.
