Dined here with six co-workers for lunch. I have been here, but it's been several years. I am a wing guy so I always have The Peanut in the back of my mind on my trips to KC. Wings - I warned the group they were huge. But someone in the group insisted we order 2 dozen - yeah, we took about a dozen back to the office! The orders jncluded nachos, a cheeseburger, a grilled cheese with bacon, a regular grilled cheese, a reuben, and a BLT with double bacon (yeah, that was me!), Everyone liked the wings. Spicy - maybe just a tad bit spicy for my liking, but still delicious. No complaints on the sandwiches, nachos, and burgers. The homemade chips were very good. Service was very good. Our server Haley (?) kept drinks refilled and was on top of it from the get go. She was really good in fact. Polite, fast, and kept things moving for a work lunch hour. Okay, so I've tried other locations. My daughter did a culinary class just up the street and I made my way down to this location. I got my staple (blt). So freaking good! The Peanut is famous for these, along with their wings (which are a must try!). In addition to my blt and homemade chips, I added on avocado. Yasssss! Bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, cheese, and avocado?! All day everyday! So goooood! I ordered online and picked up, seamlessly. Definite give them a go! read more

The Peanut is a great place to meet for happy hour or to watch a game since they have so many TVs. The food is great, maybe the best BLT anywhere! They are known for their wings, but I think it's the garlicy blue cheese dipping sauce that makes them so good. This review is for Sunday brunch in November. We've now officially eaten in all the Peanuts in Kansas City. And, we don't live in Kansas City anymore! service: Deya was our server. All the servers are great. They know what they're doing and make excellent recommendations. bar: How is the Peanut's Bloody Mary still five bucks? These things are fantastic. One of our all-time favorite Bloody's. They also had plenty of taps. I went with Boulevard's Space Camper Nova Flare, which I had not had yet. Really impressed they had it on tap. food: Unlike the downtown and midtown locations, the Kansas locations have an expanded menu. I remain a purist with their spectacular eggs benedict and my wife is loyal with their outstanding spicy eggs. That said, 'cause we were in Kansas, we tried their Chicken Fried Steak, breakfast 'taters, and sausage gravy. I've never had a better BLT than from the Peanut. Or a better chicken, bacon, ranch salad. Or bigger wings. It's not 5 stars for the gourmet aspect - it's bar food, but it's best in class. You might wonder why an order includes only 3 wings. Because it's an 1/8 of a chicken per wing. Seriously. We love The Peanut, but have never had to think about ordering carryout from here until the pandemic changed our lifestyle. I am happy to report that their food travels great! We order the wings (of course!) and several BLT's and a Bird Bomb sandwich. Everything was hot, prepared just as requested and none of the sandwiches arrived with soggy bread! I couldn't be happier knowing that I can continue to enjoy our favorite bar food and not have to sacrifice any of the quality or flavor that we have come to love! read more

Was sort of expensive. With all the hype I thought I would try this place. Ate there with two others. Was not impressed. My meal was just O.K., My nieces's chilli cheese fries did not taste right but her chicken caesar salad was good. It was busy as usual. Will maybe give it another try. read more

We really like the Peanut in downtown OP and decided to give the one out south a try and we were not disappointed. The food was great. The service was good and the beer was cold. It was almost full by the time we left, but the noise wasn't as bad as some had mentioned in an earlier review. We will definitely be going back. Thanks for a good experience. read more

Was in town visiting friends and we were looking for a place to get a snack and drinks. The Peanut stuck out because it's new to our friends too. Glad we tried it! They're in a strip mall type of area with parking available. We were a little scared at first because the glass windows are blacked out/tinted like bars are. We had a baby with us and were not sure if it would be good to bring baby in there with us. It is for sure family friendly, other than us, there were 3 more groups that had kids with them as well. They have a nice draft list. I opted for the Boulevard Dunkel. We got a dozen wings that came with celery sticks and ranch (or blue cheese if you prefer) with an order of fries. Wow. Little did we know that the 12 wings were actually 24. We were so used to wings being separated into drums and flats, you get the whole wing here and it's smothered in a great tasting buffalo sauce. Their ranch must have been home made, it was really good. The fries were fine. A good location to watch sports, lots of tv's everywhere you turn. Delicious wings. Worst experience ever! From the moment we sat down. Waitress was unfriendly and inattentive. Ordered a special order for a crispy BLT, it came back soft cooked I asked if they could cook the bacon more, waitress acted annoyed with me. When the meal was returned it came back the same. 46 minutes into this - still no food. Told waitress to forget about the meal and take it off the bill. She told me the manager was on her way out with it. When I talked to the manager about comping the order she got combative with me. I have been to other locations and never had this problem. Buyer beware. I do not recommend eating at this location. I will not be returning. read more

Only popped in for a drink as we just ate, but their wings looked and smelled divine! Definitely a wide range in menu options as well as beer. Great vibe, awesome service and perfect spot for families, date nights, or quick drop ins. Will definitely be back soon! read more

Came here on Father's Day because the hubs loves the Peanut's wings. We ordered stuffed mushrooms to start and they must have taken longer than normal because a manager came by to apologize and comped them. Wow! That's service. I had a BLT which is always a solid choice. The girls and hubby shared a dozen wings but I'm thinking at least 3 came home with us. I tried the Monday wrap special (buffalo chicken or chicken Caesar with chips) for $5.79, and a drink for $2.50. My order was delivered with a smile in about 13 minutes. The buffalo chicken wrap was packed with plenty of chicken, a tangy jalapeno ranch sauce, and other fresh ingredients. The homemade chips were crunchy, and very tasty, without being salty. The white sangria was all pineapple juice. The cranberry mule was okay. The Bird Bomb and Rueben sandwiches were delicious!! The pork tenderloin came out with just the bun. Nothing on it, no tomato, lettuce, onion or Mayo. We had to ask for at least the mayo. Service was somewhat slow but also somewhat busy for a Wednesday. read more

If you're not a regular or local, don't waste your time coming in to this location. Sitting at the bar was just a bad experience for us. The food was good, which it always is, you have to get their wings and BLT as they are just incredible. However the service will cause me to not go there again. I know finding good help is hard to do right now, but holy cow, at what point to we just accept bad service as the norm. read more

It's nice to be able to go to a local bar close to home and grab some quick and great bite. Curb side service was easy and a nice lady brought my food out to the car within the promised time. Came here on 4/28/18 for some drinks with friends after dinner. I ordered their Corona Premium & some shots. The beer was average cost I think about $4 & the Starburst shots we ordered was about $7 a piece. That day the bar wasn't crowded at all so service was quick. The waitress was friendly as well. I come here every so often to watch my favorite sports team play if I'm having dinner nearby. It's a nice little bar to come in for a few drinks or more. read more

Come hungry, wear loose clothing, and bring wet wipes would be my advice to any new Peanut patrons. We ordered the wings, which are a must. These aren't your average anemic miniature chicken wings, these are like the wings off of a turkey. They are spicy, savory and delicious. The blue cheese dressing was watered down. The famous BLT was good, although I hate to be picky, but the bacon was too crispy, it was about 3 minutes pst crispy with a few shades of black coating the edges. Otherwise it was good. We also got a Cuban, with a side of onion rings. The Cuban had so much potential but was way too dry. The onion rings were excellent. The cheese fries were past the point of cheesy, a little too saturated and soggy. Overall definitely worth checking it out, a Kansas City experience. read more

I've been to other Peanuts and I love the flavor of the wings but tearing them a part is a pain and just not worth it when there are other places = as good. We shared some chicken nachos as well and they came out with green chicken on them. I guess it's a flavor thing but looked odd and flavor?? Overall just ok and the food wasn't the warmest when it got to us. Service was very good. read more

It cost the same as going to Rye or Westside Local where they hit breakfast out of the park. Oh well. We will alway come by for wings and beers, just not Eggs Benedict with packaged hollandaise.
