Running errands in an unfamiliar part of town, I asked Yelp what's for lunch. My problem was, it was 10:35 am and most places think that is still breakfast time. It's not my fault most places are wrong :0 Who has two thumbs and is a lucky girl? Yelp gave me The Peppersauce Cafe which stops serving breakfast at 10:30. Yay! I drove my happy ass right on over, grabbed a New Times to read, and was seated immediately. The menu has lots of interesting items and I was intrigued by today's special of homemade clam chowder but since I haven't had a vegetable in a couple of days I went with this Cobb salad with crispy chicken (you can have turkey, crispy chicken, or grilled chicken), with homemade ranch dressing. Y'all. This salad is MASSIVE. The bowl is easily as big as my head. The chicken was perfect, crispy, juicy, and tender. The avocado was nice and fresh. The tomatoes were bursting with flavour. It was delightful. The other half is going to be delightful again for dinner, I am sure. It's so nice to see a local business like this in an old house that didn't get torn down. I just love everything about the Peppersauce Cafe and would definitely go there again next time I am hungry in that area. read more

Found this hidden gem while driving through Phoenix, looking for a restaurant to satisfy my husband's desire for a burger and mine for a soup and salad. The soup of the day is potatoe with bacon and chives- think loaded baked potatoe. Omigosh. So hearty and flavorful. The Cobb salad was ridiculously good -- and large!! My husband could not speak-- he was entranced by his basic burger on a pretzel bun. My son had the Texican half beef half chorizo. The beans are apparently amazing as is the potatoe salad. Found this place because I was looking for someplace quick and reputable near the airport, as I had a long drive to Flagstaff. This place turned up on Yelp and Google and I was quite impressed. A really clean greasy spoon kind of diner with classic American-style burgers and entrees (e.g. meatloaf, fried chicken), lots of servers circulating to be sure you're happy. I took the patty melt, which was nice and juicy with a lot of tomatoes. The potato salad is the kind I like at picnics (mustard added!), but there's just a little too much round onions for my taste. read more

Great burrito great service I had maybe 20 minutes and was able to eat take some on the road and it was delicious. Served was friendly atmosphere was chill even got some work done as I waited. I came in on a Monday morning because Waffle House was closed for renovations and I'm glad I did. The food was amazing. I had the signature omelet, the pepper sauce, and it was delicious! Classic southern style diner Service is quick & want to know how your meal is. I gave it a 4 because one of their tables wobble a lot & I had to hold it down with my elbow constantly. This place is simple but oh so good! I was looking for a breakfast spot near the airport for my family before we headed out of town. This spot is an example of why I love Yelp! After reading several reviews, I knew I had found a place for breakfast. My brother had the chicken fried steak and loved it! My mom and I split the Swiss mushroom omelette and it was so amazing! They even split it on separate plates for us (such a great touch). The service was fabulous and the coffee refills kept coming. Favorite new place! We didn't have any plans to go here but after the aroma of food coming from the kitchen that all changed. Our server was very helpful and recommended the chicken curry soup. Came here today with my mom to have lunch. Waitress was very friendly, and she spoke Spanish, which was a plus since my mom only speaks Spanish. My mom got the basic burger with fries, and I had the tuna melt with fries. Both meals were wonderful! I love the bread that they use for the tuna melt, I believe it was parmesan bread. Really decent place buried in a commercial industrial zone! First it's busy! It's really clean. Service is definitely good despite the traffic. To me the reviews are inflated by 2 for the following reasons; it's in an area that really has super few options... loyal, repeat customers that eat there a few times a month for lunch. The food was super decent. I might have been more happy about my experience because I went for breakfast and I missed breakfast by 3 minutes... they have limited hours as it is.. so I was annoyed me from the start. Moving on, I actually ordered a lot; Cobb Salad with chicken... first it's big, it's fresh, and pretty decent. Next was the server's recommendation of the Meatloaf Sandwich. Got off my plane and headed to one of the closest breakfast spots I found on yelp. Pulled up and it's a very small and basic looking building (personally means good stuff to me lol) picked my table by the window, had my drink within seconds of sitting down. Ordered my meal from a very sweet woman. Advised me the pancakes are large so I may want 2 and not the 3 I ordered...yea she was right, I couldn't even finish the 2...bacon was a bit crisper then I prefer but had a great flavor. If you're looking for some serious home cooking, this is the place. Nothing here comes pre-cooked out of a bag. Everything I saw coming to other tables looked amazing as it always does. I'm in love with their pot roast. Oh my god is this thing flavorful juicy and very addicting. I love lots of food, but deep down in my soul, I am a meat and potatoes type of guy. The potatoes are scratch, made and definitely seem to be hand mashed. Don't let the area it's in for you you get a mixed crowd of blue white collar and laborer clientele. The staff are always friendly quick service, and it's always a pleasure to go here. This place could probably double in size and it would still be crazy busy.
