Came in here for the first time tonight for dinner. We ordered 6 wings Carolina bbq, 6 wings mango habanero, the Korean bbq brisket nachos, the grilled cheese brisket, a glass of Pinot Grigio, and the lemon hibiscus mule. The food was not hot at all. The wings were basically just drizzled over the top with sauce and not tossed, they didn't even come out hot or warm. The Korean bbq nachos were really dry and on a thin plate that made it hard to eat. The brisket grilled cheese wasn't really that good either according to my husband. The first glass of Pinot that came out literally had the prints of the previous persons lips across half the glass. Took 5 min to get our server's attention to let her know. The lemon hibiscus was weak and tasted like pink lemonade. Honestly just tasted like country times lemonade packets. The table nearby had spilled their child's milk and when they asked for a mop, the waiter told them they didn't have one. The other table behind us, also complained about dirty silverware. The tables did not feel wiped down. Overall, it didn't feel very clean. Sticky tables and just an overall weird experience. Won't be back, would have had better luck at yard house. read more

We visited The Periodic Table earlier this year with a large group and had a great time! We called the restaurant ahead of time if they could accommodate our large party (~20 guests). They were able to reserve the backroom area for us. Our server was AWESOME. He handled our large party perfectly, checked-in on us frequently, allowed us to start separate checks and was able to get all of our orders in accurately, not one mistake! We picked The Periodic Table as they had a great food menu and a great drink menu with a variety of regular cocktails along with mocktails for our friends who do not drink alcohol. For my drink, I tried Poe's Violet Haze which I loved. As for the food, my table first started out with the Korean Nachos, and everyone loved them! For my meal, I got the Nashville Hot Sammie which was also good. The Periodic Table is a great restaurant, and I highly recommend it for groups both large and small! read more

My party of five hangry people arrived here after waiting in traffic for two and a half hours trying to get into the fiasco that was the Asian Collective Night Market of 2022. I called ahead once we were able to extricate ourself from that mess, and Periodic Table had our patio table waiting for us when we arrived. We were warned that our server had a party of twenty she was helping inside, but honestly we never would have noticed. The service was just fine from our server, and the manager came out a couple times to check on us as well. For food, hubby and I split the poke nachos, the Table burger, and the brisket grilled cheese. He had a smoldering old fashioned, I had a diet pepsi. He said his drink was "interesting", and got better once he got used to it being not quite what he expected. One friend had a watermelon cocktail and expected it to be a bit sweeter than it was. The friends split a Korean nachos, and ordered some other things I can't remember now. They polished off the Korean nachos as we did the poke nachos. I would definitely order the poke nachos again but probably after trying the Korean to see which we would like better. The brisket grilled cheese was really good - it was a really good bread they used, and a nice gruyere if I remember correctly. The sandwich was huge, each half was probably big enough for me on its own on a normal day (but like I said, we were HANGRY). The stinker, unfortunately, was the burger. The patty was just not good. It almost tasted like a frozen patty, it had a weird taste and no char. The bun was good, and the toppings were interesting, it sounded like it was going to be a "gourmet" burger - but the patty just ruined it. I would absolutely recommend skipping burgers here. I was excited about the theme being chemistry related. Came here with a bunch of friends for cocktails, but this place missed the mark for me. The inside decor did not match its name at all. The food menu was confusing because it was predominately American food but a sprinkle of tuna poke and Korean nachos. I was a bit skeptical about raw fish at a place like this. Our alcoholic drinks were all very sweet and tasted like juice. The food was okay--nothing spectacular. We came as a party of 10 and it sounded like there were two other parties of 10 with reservations, because the space is quite big. However, our specific waitress did not seem to patient enough to deal with large parties. When we asked her opinion/recommendation on specific food options or cocktails, she had not tried any of them, which is surprising. Periodic Table was recommended by a friend, and I just loved the name so much I had to try it out. Glad I did! The interior has a great atmosphere, one you'd never guess finding this place in a typical office/business park type location. That kinda adds to the appeal of it. We opted to sit outside, but I think anyone local and not from the upper Midwest thought we were crazy and that it was way too cold to sit outside in November. Still, they obliged, and turned on a heat lamp for us to sit at a table outside. The menu was great, with enough options to have some variety but not so much that it was overwhelming. I would have loved to see a bit more poultry type options, but otherwise no complaints. I ended up getting the fish and chips, and everything was done very well. The variety in the drink options -- to include the beer menu -- was also a welcomed surprise. The service was fantastic and attentive. I would definitely recommend checking it out! read more

Bold move to open during the pandemic! I've been on the lookout for great HH's in Columbia, MD and I believe I have found my happy place (for drinks). We were seated on patio for outdoor seating on a Thursday afternoon at 2pm, right in time for their ridiculous VALUE HH. I love their concept here where they incorporated elements of the periodic table into the dining experience (see what I did there?? Sorry). Happy hour wines were even served in cute beakers! Note: you can only order one drink at a time from the HH menu. Food wise we ordered the charcuterie board, which was good but I wouldn't say amazing? I was quite disappointed with the Korean BBQ Brisket Sandwich. The brisket was dry and the bread ratio to meat was too high. The waiters were all very friendly and attentive but the food was a bit of a let down. I would like to come again and try something else off their menu! This was new to us, but I just didn't grasp the concept of the food or the name. The menu appears to change, based on previous Yelp pics. There appeared to be one server for a large section of the restaurant. The Korean nachos were interesting, but pretty good. The vegetable soup was not very warm or good. The French dip was a little strange with the broccolini on top and a bland gravy on the side, instead of au jus. The burger was good but the Texas toast was too much. Reading about this place, concept seems super cool. Seeing and experiencing this place is person, a bit of a different reaction. The Periodic Table boasts about a combination of flavors, unique fusions, but it really seemed a like a normal bar to me - from menu, decor and onward. I get the appeal for locals nearby who want a homestay though. With a name like 'The Periodic Table', I was hoping to see tons of cool decor, cocktails served in beakers, smoking drinks, menu items that corresponded with elements, someting... but unfortunately didn't see any of that. Unimpressed with the ambiance, the menu didn't really win me over either. I chose the fish and chips as my quick and safe lunch entree. Happily reporting that they use real fish battered and fried in-house versus frozen for this meal. I wasn't expecting this, but was excited that I would be getting something of quality. Just wish there was more than one piece. If you like skinnier fries, then the chips will be a homerun for you! Service was nice and attentive due to a mid-day meal and pretty open house. Covered patio seating outdoors. Plenty of indoor seating, plus a full length bar. We recently moved tot the suburbs and wanted to try some of the local restaurants near us, so we headed over to the Periodic Table for an early dinner. The outdoor dining was pretty packed, but since it was a little chilly and not too packed inside, we chose to sit indoors. They have an indoor dining area, as well as an entire bar area which is on the different side of the restaurant. We didn't have a reservation, but were seated right away. Their menu is pretty unique and the play on the periodic table/science was enjoyed by by both of us since we work in healthcare/science! We started with the Korean nachos which were SO yummy and such an interesting nacho dish - the wontons were very crispy. It was a bit heavy for both of us, but we really enjoyed the flavors. We were able to order a non-alcoholic craft cocktail, which was nice since that's not always available at restaurants and a big plus for us. My husband ordered the Nashville Chicken and felt that the chicken was dry, but I really enjoyed my Braised Short Rib Cheesesteak - so juicy and very flavorful! I couldn't finish my entire cheesesteak since the wontons had been a lot to finish, but I'd definitely go back to have that again. Our server was great and came by a few times to check on us, as did someone who looked like an owner/management. The ambiance seemed family friendly, since we had come a little bit early I noticed it was starting to fill up as we left and there was even someone setting up to play some live music. Love their unique food and cocktail menus. They also have non alcoholic cocktails and non alcoholic beers like Athletic Brewing on the menu, or if not listed, you can ask and they typically have it. Loved their roasted cauliflower bowl for the unique flavors but it is not worth the $18 for the serving amount. Maybe I just got a small portion. Or they should use smaller plates so it looks like I'm getting a larger portion. read more

In general, the hot food was overly greasy. The Korean nachos were not served as described in the menu. Not spicy at all. They were supposed to come with Asian coleslaw. There was no sign of that, just PERHAPS 5 small strings of cooked cabbage. The fingerling potatoes were saturated with dried up rosemary. They had to be scraped to be eaten. The Brussels sprouts that accompanied the salmon were also greasy. The only thing good was my salmon. The white wine by the glass list was severely lacking-- not even a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. TLDR - mediocre food and poorly managed The highlight was the burger, it had a pale and limp tomato on it, but the meat itself was fine. My dad liked the roasted mushrooms in sauce, which I found much too sweet. Service wise, we got 2 waters, and didn't get two more for the other members of the table, until 30 minutes later. We ordered drinks, apps, and entrees at the same time. They served us the soup first, then entrees, then our drinks, and then appetizers, at increments of a few minutes apart. When the manager served the appetizers, he walked by our table and it took him a minute or two to find it. The iced teas were 3/4 of the way full, we didn't get a refill, which gave the impression they ran out of tea and didn't make more. They were also out of napkins, so we were rationed to one each for the entire dinner, and I watched someone come in with more right before I left. I think a competently run restaurant would know how to serve things in the correct order, and remain supplied with the necessary things. Not to read into things too much, but it might be that people who don't know how to do things are being forced to do things above their pay grade. Because the waiting staff, and the manager provided pleasant and friendly. The other app we ordered were the osso bucco wings, which were described as frenched drumsticks coated in Fresno chile sauce. There wasn't enough sauce, and it didn't cling to the chicken the way some good Buffalo sauce does on wings. They also weren't frenched, which was a letdown. Two members of my party got the chicken sandwich. The bun was over buttered and under toasted, and the chicken was ok. One person liked it, the other person didn't. I went half and half with another person on the table burger and brisket grilled cheese. I already mentioned the burger, which had good meat but the toppings weren't great. The brisket grilled cheese had a comically large amount of rosemary ciabatta, which didn't taste like rosemary; and small amount of brisket and onions, I couldn't taste any Boursin cheese. The sides were all pre fab, frozen Sysco items. I've had those fries at many a place. Which to be honest, I do like once in a while, but they weren't cooked or seasoned enough. The onion rings were worse, as they were cooked less than the fries, and doughey. For their credit, the fried rice had real carrots, and a dash of sesame oil, but it still wasn't worth eating. Ambience wise, it was a little darker than I'd have liked. They also seated everyone in a clump of tables together, instead of spreading everyone throughout the empty restaurant. I went here with my family and had a really good experience. It was a little hard to find at first (it's in the same area as the Wells Fargo but if you're too fixated on the Wells Fargo, you might miss it like I did). Anyways, the lighting was really good and it really helped the ambiance of the place. I think our waitress/server was named Cheryl or Sharoll, and she was very nice and pleasant and check up on us multiple times to make sure we satisfied. She also gave excellent recommendations. I got the Nashville chicken sandwich as my main meal, and I was satisfied with it. For the wings, I really liked the honey garlic for the dipping sauce, it was sweet. The salmon was okay, and i probably won't recommend that to anyone (unless you've had this kind of salmon before and like it). It is cooked medium as their standard. but I will probably definitely be coming back here again because of all the good things and if I have another pleasant experience, I will probably give them 5 stars. It's okay. The food selection has a good variety so we were able to all have something different. I went with the catfish and also got to try the fish & chips from my friends plus the shepherd's pie to take home. The catfish was cooked well but the rice with it was SALTY. The shepherd's pie's potatoes were nice and creamy but the beef at the bottom is incredibly SALTY. The fried fish was cooked beautifully and was perfectly crunchy but the fries, as you may have guessed by now, were SALTY. The most offensive out of all 3 was the beef from the shepherd's pie. It's actually inedible because of how salty it is. The waiter did a little brag about how their cocktails are good but, honestly? They're also just okay. They had some good ideas in terms of flavor combinations but the execution of those flavors were just meh. A blueberry cocktail with just a hint of blueberry to give you an idea. If your main goal is to get tipsy/drunk without any regard to enjoying the flavor of a cocktail, then yeah, sure, knock yourself out. read more

Food: I had such a wonderful experience at The Periodic Table. The food genuinely surprised me! There was variety as well as diversity within the menu. I ordered the specialty pizza as an entree. I also shared the nachos and bao buns with the others at my table. The pizza was delicious but quite thick and filling. I would suggest sharing it if possible. The bao buns also blew me away. I texture of the bun was perfect. The real show stopper for me was the nachos. They weren't your typically tortilla chip. They were pita chips covered in AMAZINGLY seasoned chicken with a white sauce. I HIGHLY recommend the nachos. I also ordered the BIVness as Usual cocktail. I'm not a huge drinker but I would order this drink again and again. The blueberries at the bottom of the glass are a great treat to finish off your drink. The Periodic Table sure does give a great first impression. Service: Our waiter was so kind and knowledgeable on the menu. The waiter provided recommendations and very detailed explanations on the specials. For a busy Friday night, our waiter was exceptional. Other: My group and I sat outside on the patio area. Took forever for waitress to come by to tell us how she had too many tables and then even longer to bring water and take order. My smoulder old fashioned was tasty and well made. Nondescript location, worth the visit because the food is amazing. We started off with crab bites which were a perfect little pre-meal snack. Got the Philly pizza flat bread (yum!) Caesar salad (my only complaint was it came with tomatoes but those are easy to pick off) which was crisp and bright, not too salty, and the Bourbon bowl which had good flavor but was a bit salty. Kids mac and cheese - 9/10 probably the second best we've had. Finished up with cheesecake which was average. Nothing crazy. Ambiance inside is lighter than you would expect for the dark outside. This review is a little late, we went about a month ago. The service was excellent, the atmosphere is okay (it seems like they're not sure if they want to be fancy or a dive bar so they just added elements of both), but the food and drinks were terrible. Taste is subjective, so maybe others would like it, but my partner and I were heavily disappointed. The Table Caesar was the only thing we liked, and it's just your standard Caesar salad. We also ordered the Shepard's Pie (super dry and mostly bread, very little substance) and the Table Burger (the sweet jam is a cool touch but the burger itself was flat, overcooked, and lacked real veggies). The alcoholic beverages (two ciders and a stout, sadly I don't remember the names) were undrinkable. They exchanged the first drink but I didn't want to ask them to change it again when the second one came out just as gross. We just set it to the side. TLDR; way overpriced for subpar food & drink, good service, so-so atmosphere. We might try again if they overhaul the menu, but probably not. read more

Atmosphere pretty cool. Nice after work HH spot. The HH menu items were limited, but they had nice size ribs. The wings were a bit of a surprise (not what I was expecting as pictured). But overall they had a nice flavor. The drinks from the HH were good!! I would return to see what other HH specials they have though. read more

There was a delay in getting menus; new ones had to be printed before we could receive them to place orders. We came at 2:45 in the afternoon, mind you. We called ahead to inform them of our party of 6 (they don't accept reservations). When we arrived, we sat outside as requested. Overall service was slow, even though our waiter was friendly. Our server, Charles, was kind and knowledgeable about the menu. Unfortunately, he was the only server working both indoor and outdoor tables. There were 2 hostesses and 1 server - this staffing decision did not make much sense. The nachos and wings appetizers were good. The fish and chips entree was disappointing - it included one piece of fish that was a bit mushy. Dessert was mixed. The cheesecake and layered lemon cake were good; however, the layered chocolate cake was too spongy and not very sweet. Hopefully service will improve in the future. Edit: Owner thoughtfully responded to my review. From what I understand, they were low on menus due to COVID regulations and dealing with print supplier issues on the day of our visit. It had been a while since we'd been to TPT, and when we recently visited, not only was there was an entirely new menu, but we also felt the food preparation was also vastly different (and improved) from the last time we were there. My guest and I dined here on May 31, 2024 in the evening. Service was mediocre as it took approximately 10 minutes for a server to come to our table. When we asked about the honey lemon pepper salmon dish, the server said, "The whites like it. I guess it's good." We were pretty taken aback by her comment. We ended up ordering wings and the honey lemon pepper salmon dish. The wings were good but the salmon was burnt from the grill and had no flavor. After hearing so many amazing things about The Periodic Table, my husband and I decided to try it out for ourselves while celebrating 5 years together. We were sorely disappointed. I have multiple food allergies, but I eat out often. One of the ways I can tell if a restaurant has a good chef is if they can work with me or if they just give up and tell me to get a salad or "can make me some plain chicken". Our waiter was very sweet and we were seated right away. There was a paint and sip event going on, and they turned down the lights shortly after we were seated to help set the mood. So far everything was good. When it came time to order, the menu looked amazing. There were so many things we were interested in, and everything sounded delicious. I felt really confident that they would be able to work with me since they have experimental nights where they let their chefs create different things and just have fun in the kitchen. Once it came time to order I gave our waiter a list of my allergies and that's where the problems began. I had several different things that I was interested in just in case the first one turned out not to be safe. He kept coming back time and time again, apologizing profusely, each time letting me know that the chef said he couldn't make these things for me and wouldn't say which ingredient was the problem. Each time I was very confused since I picked things that were most likely safe for me, or would be able to be made safe with very little effort. After 4-5 attempts, I asked to speak with the chef. Like I had guessed, he was taking the easy route and didn't want to put in the effort and wanted me to get plain chicken with plain rice and steamed veggies. I politely and calmly explained that although I have allergies, I eat out a lot and am usually able to find something to eat. I explained that I can make that at home, and I eat out to try something new, exciting, and delicious. We ended up being able to work something out with the moroccan nachos, only for the chef to come out and give it to us and find out he had added an seasoning that explicitly contained one of my allergens. I was hesitant at that point since it seemed like he was annoyed with us not wanting the easy route of plain food and was no longer trying to keep me safe. We sent it back and he remade it. This time it was fine. I ended up getting the blackened catfish, and while that was delicious and I enjoyed every bite, it was also a very small portion for the price I paid and I ended up finishing my meal well before my husband. My husband got the burger (he gets a burger everywhere we go, and I keep telling him he should make a Yelp since he ranks them), and he said it was "average, okay, good". The Moroccan nachos were a small portion for the price as well, and we remarked that we could've gotten 2 appetizers of calamari at Cheesecake Factory (their calamari is really good!) for the price of these one nachos. We did take them to go, and they were better the next day. Basically, I'd recommend them if you're looking for a fun and nice night out if you don't have dietary restrictions. The staff are really friendly and wore masks and gloves during my dining experience. Every other table is also sectioned off for social distancing. My appetizer was a spicy sweet poke bowl with side of choinky sized fried chips. I pre-tasted the sauces and think it is a mix of sweet hoisin and creamy sriracha mayo (found it to be a spicy ranch). The fish was ahi tuna and refreshing. Chips reminded me of bigger deep fried wonton skins you add to soups. For the main dishes, I ordered their smoked ribs and special dish (forgot the name). The ribs were pretty good. The meat is cooked so it falls off the bone when you take a chomp. The sauce is a sweet honey bbq based liquid that the ribs have been swimming in. The special (mushroom risotto dish) was decent. I think they grilled some slices of king oyster mushrooms and two other types of mushrooms I'm not familiar with. The risotto is savory and cooked with some type of oil (olive oil maybe). The dish started to get a bit salty so I started mixing the flavors between the super sweet ribs and the risotto for a happy medium. I enjoyed the food and the friendly staff. I was surprised to see that a brand new restaurant opened in the midst of a pandemic. As I arrived I noticed that the outdoor dining was packed to the gils. Not one seat to chose from. I had no other option, but to eat inside. The great thing about that is we had the whole dining room to ourselves. They definitely do a great job of social distancing inside. It took a while for the waitress to get to us, but once she came everything moved quickly and smoothly. I ordered the fish and chips. It was two very crunchy pieces of cod with French fries. The Korean BBQ was just okay. I ended up eating the corn and found it very unique and flavorful. I also found a hair underneath my corn. I didn't freak out and the restaurant handled it as well as can be expected. I understand that this is a brand new restaurant and they will have a few kinks to work out. Overall the food was good. The prices were fair and I will definitely go back to try the HH menu. I think this is a great addition to Columbia. Apparently they own the Italian restaurant Vino across the street so I may check that place out in the near future. read more

My first 5 star review in a while. The owners were welcome and inviting. The food is quick, hot, and delicious. Beers are good and they have some great crafted cocktails that rotate on a special menu. When we were there I asked for no mayo on my chicken sandwich (which was HUGE btw) and the bun came with mayo. Not such a big deal. I told the server and he was apologetic and said he'd take it back and make a new one. I told him no fuss just bring the bun. My wife ended up switching me buns because she wanted the mayo. But the owners came by to check on us and make sure it was made right, the server checked on us multiple times....but not too much so as to be annoying or interrupting conversation. Also good for kids as long as they're decently behaved. Any one part of the restaurant was good but combine them all together and this place is a fantastic choice for dinner. Went here for dinner when in the area. Was looking for someplace nearby with parking and new to us that took a reservation. The Periodic Table fit the bill and we're glad we were able to give it a try. Adeel (spelling?) was a fantastic waiter. He gave us ample time to decide and enthusiastic reinforcement of our choices / information to help us choose. He was personable and provided service with a smile. You could tell he loved his job and the food that he was serving us, so that made us excited to try it. I went for the namesake - the Table Burger. It's a double stack patty with fig and stout jam, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions and muenster cheese on a brioche bun. It was clear that the ingredients were super fresh and prepared with care. It's definitely daring to be opening up a new business, let alone a food establishment in the middle of a pandemic that's adversely affecting the restaurant business but here we are. It popped up on my radar a couple weeks ago as a new business and the menu looked good so we popped on over for Sunday dinner. We were seated outside and luckily there was a roof over our head because man did it start to thunderstorm hard. Still the place was doing plenty of curbside pickup business, and there were people seated indoor at the bar and some sat outside with us. Seemed to be enough space between tables. I ordered the summer sparkler and was dissapointed. The taste did not remotely pop and I told my server Doug as much. He suggested it would taste better with Sprite in it and he got me another one and he was right it was absolutely delicious. My bf and I shared the ahi tuna 'nachos' (the nacho chips were fried wonton triangles). It was delicious but.. not too much in portion. However the entrees were heaping big. I got the steak frites and it was a mound of food. My bf got the Hen of the Woods salad which is a maitake mushroom on a bed of spinach, red pepper, candied pecans and a yummy vinaigrette. I liked my entree, but dare I say for the first time I would have picked the entree salad over it. I definitely had enough of my own dish leftover for lunch next day. Bit of a complaint as my dish was meant to have scallion and cotija cheese and.. there was none that I could find. You can see from the picture yourself. Service was great and attentive. The one thing I would suggest is maybe the decor could be spruced up a little. Outdoor seating does not mean it can't be made more ambient and inviting. This is my second time going to the restaurant and they always knock it out of the park. I have had no troubles with this restaurant whatsoever; the staff is pleasant and educated, service is quick and on time, the waiters are very attentive (shoutout to Adam!!), and the food is always bomb. Their portions are absolutely huge so you can order one entrée and that will definitely fill you up. The drinks are always super delicious and everything is extremely affordable. It is great to go by yourself or with a small group of people. I went here on a Saturday night and was able to get a table no wait time.
