Choosing which lobster or yellowtail from the ice counter you want them to prepare, and how you want it prepared, is a fun part of the dining experience for us. Occasionally they have hog snapper or another fresh catch available. The fried lobster tail was fantastically seasoned with a little kick, and I've never had it prepared this way, chopped up into bite-sized pieces. Very filling and we could have shared one, but we still managed to devour both tails and left very full and satisfied. Each tail, including one side, was about $40 - but market price items vary based on size and weight of what's available that day. There are also plenty of less expensive options on the menu. One of my favorites is the yellowtail sandwich. And if you get there before 7:00pm you can order some oysters and lobster croquettes from the happy hour menu. Captain Jim's is a casual and comfortable restaurant with marine decor where the food is the star. Service is always friendly, helpful, and attentive.

We then met the chef, a young woman who clearly knows her way around the kitchen, and her brother, who seemed to be the true "Jack of all trades," making sure everything was running smoothly. The chef took our order: Peruvian fish, black beans and rice, along with a sushi roll. And let me tell you... WOW! The food was sooooo good fresh, flavorful and absolutely delicious. My wife and I literally sat there shaking our heads in amazement at how good everything was. To the entire Fresh and Wild family, thank you for making two visitors from California feel right at home while serving up some incredible food. I've been dining here literally since the day they opened. What they do with a chicken is incredible, beginning with their secret marinade and cooking in a special oven imported from Peru. Their chef Manuco watches over the roasting of these chickens like a mother hen himself! Start your meal with an incredible cerviche, some Peruvian corn and then after eating the mouth-watering chicken and side dishes I doubt you'll have room for dessert....I never do. But they too are home-made and reported to be excellent by my son, who has an unlimited appetite for sweets (and Inca Cola). My wife and I drive here from Davie because we have such a craving for this food it is well worth the drive. We sometimes order take-out and serve it at home for a special dinner party. Everybody marvels at the succulence and taste of the food! If you're a first-timer, be sure to try the special sauces (prepared in-house) that they recommend for the chickens. I have taken a long time to write a review for this restaurant but I love this place I am a regular here. If you are looking for authentic Peruvian cuisine in North Miami (I have tried most of the Peruvian restaurants in the area) this is it! My favorites include their ceviche mixto, lomo saltado, papa a la huancaina, chaufa, and of course their roasted chicken. The restaurant is very small only a couple of tables I always order to go.
