Went here for lunch with a friend. We ordered a large onion ring and 2 8 inch Philadelphians. The sandwiches were huge, with tons of meat! It was pretty good, but in comparison to a place like DP Steakhouse, the flavor was a bit lacking. I'm not a fan of the onion rings, it was kind of like corn dog batter. I prefer them crispy. The food was super greasy, I finished about half the sandwich and a couple onion rings. It's great for the price, but the flavor would be about average. The Phillidelphian is utterly amazing. We used to eat here every 3 weeks or so, until we moved out of state. I have searched the entire Dallas area, and have not found anything even close to these guys' sandwiches. Luckily for me, I came back to town, and this is my first stop, restaurant wise. It was always good until the last two times I went. That being said, I'm older and wiser now and not willing to risk my life for the sake of steak and cheese, especially when places like Downtown Philly and Moochies exist. If you can get past the giant holes in the walls with insulation spilling out, covered in grease (in fact, every surface is covered in grease, and you too will be covered in grease upon walking in), then you have a stronger stomach than I do and will therefore probably be able to overcome any objections to risking your life enough to enjoy a pretty tasty sandwich. However, I am a more aware grasshopper than I once was. I see my own mortality, and I am no longer willing to risk that gift of life by eating at this particular establishment. I have been going to the Philly for about 15 years. I have two rules when going here. #1: Do not look at the floor or walls. #2: Do not look at any of the people touching your food. If you will follow these two simple rules and concentrate solely on your mind blowing sandwich you will walk out of there stinking of grease while awestruck over the deliciousness of the experience. Why oh why oh why did I wear a sweater on this outing as I tempted fate, putting my weekend of good health at risk, at this little sandwich shop? The big reason I got to see it is because the grill is RIGHT there, out for all the world to see - the smoke and steam and grease infiltrating the entire seating area. I also watched a guy haul a dolly full of boxes of meat right through the dining area! Cool. But, sitting there eating that thing, I was happy. It was just a really good sandwich! Never go there or order from there at lunchtime, the place is PACKED, the food quality suffers and the wait time goes to levels of insanity. I've been to the worlds most famous philly steak place, in philly, and this sandwich beats it hands down. That being said, this is, hands-down, the best Philly Cheesesteak I have ever had. It may not necessarily be "authentic", but it's so damn good, that doesn't matter a bit. This place hasn't changed much since I started going as a kid. It's great food and it's a dive. You have to know you're going to a dive restaurant so please don't complain about the state of the restaurant. It's actually in much better shape than when I was a kid so kudos to them! My boyfriend and I stopped here yesterday (2/14) to grab a quick bite before our drive back to CA. I found this place on Yelp, it had decent reviews and it was open, so we decided to give it a try. The place itself isn't the prettiest place and not super clean. We saw one of the workers drop a receipt in the deep fryer, then pick it out and throw French fries in there with bare hands. Was a little alarming but we didn't think too much into it. I ordered the pepper steak- it was ok, not amazing. The french fries tasted like fries you'd get at a carnival. My boyfriend got the meatball sub- saw the cook throw some meatballs in a plastic container and cook them in the microwave. He was a little apprehensive but again, we didn't look too much into it. His sandwich tasted ok he said. Well a few hours later- cold sweats, stomach ache...then violent throwing up. He had food poisoning. Still incredibly sick today. Note to self-if it looks dirty and the workers/cooking process doesn't seem very clean...don't eat there. We learned that lesson the hard way. read more

I was excited to try this place out. I figured a place called "The Philidelphian" would have above average Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. I was wrong. The location - situated in a strip mall off 9800 S and 700 E in Sandy Utah. It's easy to get in, and the parking is ample. When I got there the line was out the door. I figured it was lunch time and it's a popular place. After moving through the line I realized it wasn't a big line, there was just no other place for the line to go. Furthermore, the lady at the counter was slow, which caused the line to back up more than necessary. A long wait for the food - I usually expect the food to take 15-20 minutes in a sit down restaurant, but that's a long time to be waiting for fresh fast food. Dirty tables - Most of the tables were occupied when we got there so we had to bus our own. It didn't seem like they had anybody watching the dining area. The place didn't appear very clean. The food - I'm generally okay with bad service and seating if the food is great... I figured if the food was awesome I would give this place a 3/5, despite the long line, slow service, and appearance of the dining area. The food was "meh". I've had better Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches at Subway. The serving was plentiful, and the food was hot, but nothing special about the sandwich. I contemplated giving this place a 1-star rating, but don't think it was deserving of the lowest rating. I don't recommend this place. If you're looking for a low-priced average sub, go to Subway. Ugh... I like dive restaurants with good food, but the food here is terrible. Worst Philly I've ever had. They put hot roast beef lunch meat on the sandwich, not chopped steak. They should really consider changing the name of this place, they're not doing Philadelphia ANY justice! What they call a "Philly Cheese Steak" was to put it simply a cold, dry, flavorless sandwhich with what tasted like Oscar-Meyer packaged roast beef. The fries had absolutely no seasoning and were a soggy, greasy mess! The restaurant space itself is a dirty, smoke filled dump! They place smells like burnt meat and stale smoke from them not rotating the frying oil or cleaning their flat-tops properly. I would avoid this place at all costs.
