    Fried Mushrooms
    Kristyl H.

We wanted sandwiches before the RSL game and ended up at The Philadelphian. My husband and I had been here before, but it'd been quite some time so we thought we'd give it another try and it was delicious. My husband ordered the Philly, while I got the Turkey, Avocado, and Sprouts and my son chose chicken and fries. Oh let's not forget the side of fried mushrooms. The sandwiches are filled to the brim and you can tell that the fries are fresh cut and delicious. I would definitely go back to The Philadelphian, but this time try a hot sandwich.

I was in Sandy and craving cheesecake so I decided to go try this place and was not disappointed! I should've ordered the 4", I ordered the 6" but they gave me the 8" which is pictured below, with the half order of fries, which was huge, I couldn't eat it all! Was so much food! Delicious but so filling! Service was great, but A/C is lacking so don't go in and eat on a hot day if you need it to be cool. Price is comparable to other steak sandwiches of same quality, but these guys don't cheat you on quantity of meat that's for sure! Go check em out.

The cheese steak was very good. However if you love Onion Rings don't buy theirs. Mine were greasy, burnt and non etiable. Lynn

The house cut fries were soggy and unsalted. The cheesesteak is a whole lot of unseasoned chipped beef and very little cheese. My kids liked the Mac and cheese bites, and the bread was decent. The employees were very kind and friendly. I have driven by this place dozens of times and have wanted to give it a shot. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be back.

The service was decent, the place was busy, but there was plenty of space to grab a table and eat. There was a tv in there with a movie on, some Utah magazines to look at and a soda fountain. The establishment appeared to be clean. The Philly sandwich was huge! It was stuffed full of steak and toppings. It had all the good stuff I like on a philly; steak, cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and onions, and topped with hot peppers, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. But it needed a bit more mayo and it could have used a bit more flavor in the steak. Salt, pepper, garlic? I don't know, but something. But I did enjoy nonetheless, i would cone back, I'm curious to try other sandwiches and their unique onion rings!!

This is a hole in the wall spot in Sandy. Old and worn out, nothing fancy, you can see them prep and cook right behind the cashier. Unfortunately their Philly cheesesteak wasn't the best I've had in salt lake. Their other sandwiches are good though. English chips are awesome. Huge portions. Congrats if you finish any 12 inch sandwich in one sitting. They're generous with their proteins. The bread they use is super soft, but not the best for a cheesesteak. This place will hit the spot if you need a big sandwich or fried food

A true Hole in the Wall kind of restaurant- it was a very busy Saturday night when we came for our 1st visit! People here are supper nice and we decided ahead of time to order a 8 inch Philly and we weren't disappointed! Our Philly was full of meat and spicy pepper just as we ordered- it was so yummy and we will be back to try their home made onion rings and English chips (. They were out of English chips and awaiting a delivery). They were crazy busy but the staff was making a huge effort getting orders out ! Can't wait to try some of their other menu choices so we'll be back soon. Glad we gave them a try

Never been before but was in the area on my way to a job interview in Draper. Got a cheesesteak with everything, and a side of onion rings. My food came out quickly, and tasted delicious. Service was friendly and respectful. Perfect, no frills kind of place for lunch. I definitely recommend.

Man, I wish I could give The Philadelphian a favorable score, but it just didn't hold up. The sandwich toppings were good. Unfortunately, that's it. The bread was tough, generic, slightly-sweet hoagie bread. Bread means a lot on a Philly, and they went with the lowest quality bread available. The store itself is also greasy and dark, feeling unclean and unkept all around. Some would argue that's exactly how a Philly shop should be, but it's certainly not for me.

Karl is one of the reasons me and my family have come back to Root'd because of the connection he has made with my children and the genuinely kind soul he is. While I can't speak for others, Karl has always provided us with an amazing serving experience and has really made us feel at home at Root'd, while the food is great, his service is what has always stood out to me here. Before other people go judging him on one shitty night he had they should realize that he is just trying his best and one bad night does not define Karl, because I have seen so much more out of him. It was slightly overcooked, and the patty was quite thin, lacking the quality and flavor that the beautiful setting promises. On the positive side, the service was attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly throughout our meal. Heart & Hill has all the ingredients to be a standout destination. A stronger focus on the quality of the meat and a more substantial burger would go a long way toward matching the excellent atmosphere they have created.
