    Shrimp Dinner

After tackling a 7-mile hike at Calvert Cliffs, our group of 15 was starving and looking for a place that could m accommodate a large crew. The Pier was incredible--the staff were super friendly and they got us settled in quickly and provided top-tier service for our entire party. The location is stunning, right on the water with a perfect view of the bridge. It's the kind of unique atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. The Food Highlights... * The "Crabby Pizza": This was a total standout! Garlic alfredo, jumbo lump crab, and Old Bay--it's a Maryland must-try. * Vast Menu: Whether you want perfectly seasoned salmon, blackened shrimp, or even vegetable dumplings, they have it all. It's rare to find a place where 15 people can all find something they love, but The Pier nailed it. * Quality: Everything was wonderfully seasoned and fresh. We even ordered extra food to go because we didn't want the meal to end! We had a great time and will absolutely be back. If you're hiking the Cliffs or just visiting Solomons Island, make sure this is your lunch or dinner stop. #enjoygoodpeople

We stopped in while we were in the area and were throughly pleased with the beautiful views this restaurant offered. Luckily, it was a quiet Sunday and the restaurant was not crowded. Our hostess sat us right away next to a window with a view water and bridge. Our waitress was friendly and took order while giving suggestions for us to possibly try. We decided to share the fried calamari, crab dip, half Maryland half cream of crab soup, mussels, and crap cake entree which came with two good sized crab cakes full of sweet lump crab and sweet potatoes fries. Everything was flavorful and delicious except the soup which was super watery and bland. We were not a fan of the color either. Our waitress promptly remove the soup from our bill. Overall, we had a great experience at The Pier Restaurant and hope to visit again in the future.

Best water views on the island. Most seating options: Completely outside by the water; outside in their covered bar area with high tops, which is great for windy days; and a renovated indoors dining area with a large bar. The vibes are great, and the food and service are comforting. We went with the crap dib, the haddock basket (basically fish and chips) and the fish tacos. Finished off with a coconut Smith Island cake. Would recommend.

This summer marked my second visit to The Pier while visiting MD. My first visit was in July of 23 for dinner with my family. This year I returned for lunch. The daytime views are simply beautiful. On both occasions the service was decent and the food was good. I must admit my drinks this summer were more on the weak side and mostly ice. For lunch we had wings and crab cake sandwiches. The wings definitely could have been cooked longer and the Crab Cake was tasty. While I do not have any major complaints I do think they are on the pricier side for what we had. Just A Note: If you sit outside be prepared to protect your food from the birds. Lol.

Finally got around to trying this place, I've always walked by and thought the vibes would be perfect--on the water, get to watch the boats and the sunset--perfect. And the location is indeed great! The food? Not so much. Not that it was terrible, but it was definitely not worth it for the price. And even if the location is amazing, it's still SOMD and there's no reason for the food to be that price. They were busy (Saturday) so service was slow, but that was understandable and they were all very polite. I probably won't be back unless it's for a drink or something they don't make in house, like the oysters.

Came here for the first time over the weekend and really enjoyed this place. I love all the windows in the restaraunt so you can really take in the beautiful view it offers. For food started off with fried pickles and oysters then had some wings and a burger. I thought all the food tasted really delicious. It was a big group of us and our server was very sweet and attentive even tho we were a hectic crowd. Will be coming here again next time I'm in town!

The best thing about this place is the views! Great location! The food was very good. I enjoyed the clam chowder and the haddock sandwich. I apologize for not asking a photo of the haddock, I was 3/4 of the way through it when I remembered. The staff was great! Stop by and check them out. Tell me what you think!

I would give it a 3.5 but the food is just okay. We came in the afternoon and got a few drinks, the crab dip and some soup. The dip was very heavy and not the best flavor wise but the drinks were solid. We had a table with a view so the scenery made up for the food. Service was good, no complaints. They had lots of waiters where we sat inside so there was always someone you can call over.

On Mother's Day, I placed an order )for pick up) for me and my mom. My mom wanted the crab cake dinner and I got the stuffed shrimp. We both ordered the garden salad as a side and it was so fresh. That was the best house salad I've had in a long time. She really enjoyed her crab cakes. Very good seafood dinners.

Nice dinner spot on the water. Husband and I joined a local friend here for dinner this evening. We all enjoyed the food, relaxing atmosphere and quick service. For a starter, we shared a crab pretzel (see photo). This pretzel, paired with the house made crab dip and cheese was to die for. I would go back and eat this over and over again! I ordered a pound of steamed shrimp with a side of melted butter for dipping. Nothing special about this. It was just the normal peeled shrimp. (Not to say it wasn't good) Our friend ordered the Beer Battered Haddock with a side of Mac n Cheese and Hush Puppies. He stated that his sides were really good and the fish was also good, but again nothing that really stood out. My husband ordered the Crab Cake Sandwich, and this... this one stood out to us. The crab cake was cooked to perfection. My husband described it as "a crispy crab cake that was moist inside and made with real crab". We all tasted it and agreed that it was the winner in dinner choices this evening. Overall, I highly suggest getting anything with crab as those dishes were our favorite of the night. I'm not sure Yelp will give me enough space to really explain how great this place is, on so many…read moredifferent levels. Let's start with the beer selection -- out of this world. Verified Untappd venue (iykyk), with what seems like endless taps and an even more impressive selection of cans/bottles. Bartenders are pretty damn knowledgeable about the product as well, which as a beer nerd is perfect. The food is fantastic. From appetizers (the fried vegetables are heaven) to entrees, it's the perfect amalgamation of classic bar food and Indian cuisine. Today when I was in I had the Taphouse (Lamb) Burger with fries and a side of their Makhani sauce (Pic attached). If a place has a lamb burger it's my immediate go to every time, and I have to say Taphouse has the best I've ever had. The lamb was cooked and seasoned perfectly, the vegetables were fresh, and that feta is that perfect accompaniment to round it off. The Makhani sauce is just good on everything. Could drink it. Not kidding. The venue offers a welcoming outdoor area and a semi-private indoor space perfect for events. I've booked Taphouse for both corporate and personal gatherings, and it's the easiest, most reliable spot in the County for hosting by far. Beyond the food and drink, Taphouse, and especially Sunny (the owner) are one of the most community engaged businesses in Southern Maryland. They have put on countless events supporting all types of local organizations, and always work with nonprofits when they need anything. Taphouse and Sunny himself really serve as one of the best ambassadors of St. Mary's County, especially since a large portion of the customers are transient. All in all, 100% a must try if in the area. But be warned, if you do, you will be coming back constantly.
