The local w/ Slaw & Colliding Tides cocktail

Incredible & delightful. The only lobster roll I've had outside of Maine that was a 5/5. Cute spot on the Harbor. Totally recommend.

We tried a few different places around the Island for lobster rolls and lobster dishes. Dave's Lobster was definitely one of the best. Our fav was the half and half which is a half cold traditional lobster roll and the fancy (warm with butter). Both were amazing. Solid chunks of lobster vs the shredded lobster rolls out there. Super friendly staff. Great beers - the local gahan blueberry ale is amazing. They have a couple of shops around the island and if you see one, it's worth the stop.

Very quaint spot ! Great views and great food . My wife and I shared the cold lobster roll and the grilled cheese sandwich . Place definitely understaffed but the girl behind the counter was a trooper . The coke slaw is a definite ! Very plain but just perfect .

During our visit to historic Charlottetown, PEI, we came upon this little shack in the Peakes Wharf waterfront shopping area. I was not one for passing up lobster during this Northeast trip, so I chose to try the hot lobster roll. It was fresh and tasty. It was a good stop for a bite to eat in this shopping area.

We came to Dave's Lobster because it's listed as one of the best places to get lobster roll in PEI. Located in the waterfront area of downtown Charlottetown, Dave's Lobster is a casual and quick-serve restaurant that is well suited for both take-out and dine-in. There is an outdoor patio. They have 2 other locations as well: one in Cavendish, PEI and another one in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Service is quick and friendly. The menu is small as they specialize in one thing: lobster rolls. You can get warm or cold lobster roll, and choose either coleslaw or chips to go with it. Other menu items are Lobster Grilled Cheese and Lobster Taco. The warm lobster roll is stuffed with generous chunks of lobster, topped with fresh chives. The lobster grilled cheese is basically the same as the warm lobster roll, but with a bit of melted cheese inside and less lobster meat. Each one is served in a warm, toasted bun that is crispy on the outside, and comes with either chips or coleslaw. I like that their lobster roll and lobster grilled cheese are not buttery or oily at all, and that the coleslaw is not creamy. I wish that they serve a side green salad though, or incorporate some veggies (even just lettuce) inside the rolls / sandwiches.

I had a little hesitation coming here since it's right near the port where all the cruise ships come in and very commercialized. That being said - hands down the best lobster roll we had! We had 4 different lobster rolls in all of PEI during our week. One in Summerside, one around Cavendish and one in Charlottetown at a fancier restaurant. and I would always go back to this one if I was there again. It's not cheap (seems like lobster roll isn't cheap anywhere nowadays) and its not fancy but you get actual lobster meat on a roll (not ground up into a mayo mush) and there's a lot. All of the other restaurants mashed up the lobster into a type of slaw. This one gives you the actual lobster bits and puts the mayo on the side of the roll. Service - I would akin it to an almost like deli counter or fast food place. There is guy behind the counter - he takes your order and gives you the food. I opted to just take out. I wish I took a picture of the lobster roll - but I did take out and was so hungry by the time I got back to the hotel.

Warm lobster roll + creamy dill potato chips!

Warm lobster roll with perfectly toasted bread & lobster pan-sizzled to the right temperature with butter, lemon & garlic then topped with chives served with a dill pickle & choice of potato chips (I got the dill)... what more can a seafood lover ask for! My order was so carefully packaged with nice thick napkins & a wet wipe and placed into a branded paper bag with handles. The lobster roll was filled with all lobster which tasted like it was just caught & the flavor and texture was melt in your mouth goodness! A bit steep in price however the amount of lobster in it made it less painful on the wallet. Feels like the lobster meat was from a 1.5 pound lobster.

Was our 2nd time here. Lobster rolls were ok. We got half and half. It's the price - this place is expensive. Convenient for the cruise ships. But expensive

Local Style - Close up with large definable chunks

On a cruise of Northeast Canada and the New England states, thus gotta have a lobster roll, or two, or three, or four.... There are obviously deals out there somewhere, if you drive or take a cab to it, but we stuck with restaurants within walking distance of the cruise ship terminal. Therefore, still pricey.... note this is 2019 with China imposed tariffs on US lobster and Canada shipping lobster like crazy to China, so we'll see if we get better deals in the States versus Canada. Our cruise started in Quebec and heads West through the St. Lawrence River. Here we go, our first roll, please... Dave's Lobster Mouth Delight (Taste): Four Choices - (local) cold with touch of mayo and herb condiments on a slightly toasted bun, or warm with butter, or combo of the two, or taco style. If you plan to try a bunch during the day, the first one is less fattening, the second is rich and fattening, no idea about the taco style and you can figure out the combo. You Comfy? (Location & Ambiance): Close to the water and cruise ship terminal. Modern, barn-like, bright interior that seats around 25. Deal or No Deal (Price): Dave's has three size options 3, 4, and 5 ounces for $17, $21, and $25CAD. Each option comes with a choice of cole slaw or a bag of chips. Nice big chunks of lobster in the roll. Cash or charge! Sum it Up (Overall): Best Lobster Roll in Charlottetown due to big chunks. Recommended by Tourist Information person. All of the rolls (two other places) were the length of a large plastic fork... they ain't too big.

Classic Lobster roll. Very tssty reasonable price.

At first, I thought I should've worn a button-down shirt, but I quickly noticed a mix of attire--some people dressed up, others in shorts--so it felt welcoming and relaxed. We started with oysters, which were absolutely delicious--completely different from the ones I've had in Florida. For my main course, I ordered the special of the day: baked halibut in a jerk sauce, served with Irish mashed potatoes and shrimp. The halibut was cooked perfectly--flaky, buttery, and flavorful. The jerk sauce added just the right amount of kick. The shrimp were tasty too, though I do wish there had been more of them, or at least a bit larger in size. That was really my only complaint. For dessert, we tried the bread pudding and the sticky date pudding. Both came out hot, rich, and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth good. By the end of the meal, we left happily stuffed and excited to explore more of the fish and shellfish PEI has to offer. Service was excellent--our waitress was efficient, friendly, and refreshingly no-nonsense. I'd highly recommend Claddagh's for anyone looking for a great dinner in a warm, lively atmosphere.

The potato salad tasted like egg salad, but was tasty. The mussels were ok, though we have had better. The lobsters were as expected. Mine was a female and had the added bonus of roe in her. I didn't enjoy tearing it up, I'll get the roll next go. The coconut crème pie was good, no meringue, slathered in real cream whipped cream.
