The half chicken Homemade Coleslaw and Homemade Potato Salad
    James B.

I was yearning for some good BBQ and my lady found this place online. We had some good bbq in our times but I wanted some really good food! So we got a uber to edgewater to head over there. I was on my phone and I noticed the uber stopped. I looked up to see why we stopped and didn't see anything until I looked across the street and saw THE Pit ! Painted in black and right off the street. They have a few tables right on the sidewalk to eat outside! Gotta love outdoor seating / eating! You could smell the foods coming through the screen door. We were delighted to meet and be greeted by Bruno the owner! He is such a nice guy and he was working alone preparing all the orders for walk-ins and the food delivery companies. We looked over the extensive and scrumptious soul food looking menu! We ordered and sat in doors to the right of the kitchen. Wow all the smells and scents were driving our senses wild. After a short while out came Bruno with two metal Trays filled with some delicious looking/ smelling foods. I couldn't wait to eat! Me and my lady ordered different items that allowed us to share and sample with delight! Those ribs are really my favorite , they have like a dryrub season and also a pasty, tasty bbq sauce and the meat is so juicy! So so good! The chicken was so tender it was falling off the bones when we tried to remove the bone! The Coleslaw is so creamy and it hits the spot! The Potato salad has a very unique taste I have never experienced in a very good way! Those collard greens tho! So so good ! Almost like MoMs lol. The cornbread will have you wanted more so so fluffy and you don't need any butter! The portions are huge and plentiful! Everything fits on those metal trays so nicely! You even get a whole roll of paper towels on the table even though the food is so finger licking delicious! We showed up around 715 and right after we did the place started getting busy very rapidly! Remember the owner Bruno handled everything in a timely fashion and the food was worth the 30 trip over to THE PIT! It was so nice to meet you Bruno! We shall return!!!

Ordered delivery - the wait was not long, considering that it was raining cats & dogs outside! Portion sizes were great - we ordered: - beef brisket sandwich: smoky goodness - hot dog with sauerkraut: plump and snappy - baby back ribs: tender meat slathered in sweet & tangy bbq sauce - sides: -- fries - nice and crispy -- coleslaw - delish -- corn on the cob - fresh and sweet -- potato salad - perfect accompaniment to the ribs -- pickles - tangy goodness My only wish - hush puppies on the menu

Six ridiculously over breaded wings with 12 soggy french fries, which is not at all what they advertise in the photo of their online menu

False Advertising!! Went there to get wings for my husband (based on their online ordering it looks like 8-10 wings with sauce) got the order to go since I was in the neighborhood pet sitting my sister's dog got back to the house opened up the container and saw 6 wings that were ridiculously overly breaded with a handful of disgustingly soggy fries. I added photos of what they advertise on their online menu compared to the box that I just opened. Looks absolutely nothing like what it looks like online. I just paid 17 bucks for 12 french fries and 6 wings that are so breaded It looks like Kentucky Fried chicken. Totally false advertising - do not order based on the picture descriptions they have listed. Very deceiving and I wouldn't trust getting food from a place that lies this blatantly on their menu photos. If I wanted breaded wings - I could have saved money and I would've gone to Popeyes

Baby Back Ribs Mac & Cheese Seasoned Fries Cornbread

Ribs weren't overly saucy and didn't slide off bone which is fine - it's $46 for a full rack. Baked mac and cheese was very bland though, had no seasoning. Had to open two utensil wrappers just to get salt and pepper to add to it since they didn't have shakers and the seasoned fries were stale. Service could use some improvement, the man at the counter acted like he couldn't be bothered when asking for things or even to check in and wasn't around when we were eating. We were the only ones in there, we came a little over an hour before close.

    Brisket sandwich YUM!
    Lina K.

I have been wanting to stop in for awhile and glad I finally did. I ordered the brisket sandwich and it came with fries and coleslaw. The portion I received was large and the brisket very flavorful. Fries were perfect and I really liked the coleslaw (chunky and crunchy!). Based on the other reviews, I will return to try the onion rings and other sides. Super convenient to park in front for a very short minute and run in for my order.

Yelp's Big Night In 2.0 Thank you to Sara for getting this out to support the local small businesses. Nights like these is how "mom & pop" shops survive in rough times. I was in the mood for some good old fashioned BBQ, and this place pulled me in. Coming up to the storefront, and seeing the grill outside with the smoke was the selling point for me. There are 3 ways you can tell if a BBQ spot is good BEFORE you even walk inside: 1) You see the smoke coming out of the restaurant. 2) You smell the BBQ 3) A crowd of people waiting in line. This place almost had all 3 criteria's met. As I walked in I noticed a nice sized menu. It offered many of the BBQ items you are looking for. So I chose a half rack of ribs. This came with 2 sides, and I chose baked beans and seasoned french fries. The baked beans were tasty, but it didn't have the smokey bbq flavor I was looking for. The french fries were basic. I did not pick up any "seasoning", and they were just like any average fries. Maybe they forgot to add the dry seasoning to it. The BBQ ribs were a decent sized item for half a rack. They had smoke and BBQ taste throughout. I felt it was a little more on the fatty side than it should be, and I'm not sure what style of rib was used here. It didn't fall off the bone, but when you bite into it the meat was easily pulled apart from the bone. Having been to the capitol city of BBQ (Austin, Texas) I can tell you that this place was not quite up to par as Texas BBQ. It is though a decent spot for ribs for this area. I would come back to try the other menu items, and their house burger looked good in the picture. Only thing is $14 for a burger you can hold in one hand is not ideal price.

Ask the Community - The Pit

I don't see any photos of the restaurant on the inside other than pics of someone's meal or of the menu. Is there indoor seating? Tables? Counter or bar?

There are a couple of indoor tables but no one is allowed to eat indoors due to the pandemic. There are 3 outdoor tables that one car dine in, but it's way too close to traffic for my comfort.

The Budae Jjigae was savory comfort, and the Shin Ramen Fried Rice was not only abundant, but served in an adorable heart shape. Even the Kimchi Stew and Gyeran-jjim were more umami than the countless counterparts I've had elsewhere. On top of that, we got more ban chan than an attention-starved halmoni hosting her first family reunion in 10 years. Everywhere I pointed my chopsticks, I touched food. It was delightful. You get a lot of food and the food is delicious and the meat is high quality. The service is always fantastic. We had a big party and were seated right away on a weekend. But if you want to gauge price a little, we went with 4 adults, 3 kids and ordered japchae (glass noodles), kimchi pajeon (pancake), 2 bottles of soju, drinks, a meat set that came with soup, 2 types of pork and 2 types of beef and it came out to about $350, tip included. If you're on the fence about coming, definitely come.

Ooooh, it's been awhile since my last review…read more After 4 years, I still love Wooga but those "$$$$" on the their Yelp page keeps me from eating here more often. This time around, it's a stronger 5 out of 5 because of our waiter was amazing. Ugh, I can't remember his name. He was on top of everything and making sure our food was grilled in a timely manner. He was quick to follow up with orders/requests that didn't come through when the kitchen didn't bring them out. Usually my gripe or disclaimer I give to people is that Wooga is great at everything except wrapping up things on the end. In the past, whenever I went, it would take forever (!!!!!) to get our check and pay. It was so frustrating but this time around, it was a bit faster. It's a win-win situation because we get to pay and leave and the restaurant has another table for customers. Though on the pricier side, Wooga does check off all the boxes of: -amazing meat quality -amazing & attentive service -they don't skimp on banchans (side dishes that I heard other restaurants are starting to limit) -several meat combo options -best Korean steamed egg in the North Jersey area We tried the thinly sliced oxtails, which were really good but pretty pricey for $38cash/$39.90card for 11oz of it. There are some things that are inconvenient (long waits, very small parking lot) but it's easy to overlook them once you have a meal at Wooga. Things to know before you go: -Their menu is updated on their website if you want to check that out before you go. -The earlier you go, the better your chance of being seated quickly. Weekends are definitely a longer wait, so plan ahead. -Their parking lot is small so it fills up super quickly, so you'll have to park across the street and play Frogger (maybe you might be too young to know this reference?) to cross the 4 lanes of Palisade Ave. -When you arrive, make sure to check in with the host/hostess so that you could get a pager to know when your table is ready. Your turn can come pretty fast sometimes depending on the timing.

From the moment we walked in, the place made a great impression. The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated, and has a good music selection that adds to the overall vibe. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Food - 5/5 Parking - Private/Street Parking Atmosphere - The space is well designed and very clean. The combination of decor, lighting, and music creates an enjoyable dining environment. Having both a bar area and a main dining space makes it feel more spacious and well thought out. Service - The staff here really stood out. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. We ended up chatting with our waiter quite a bit, and he was extremely personable. He even took a song request from me and had it played, which was a really nice and unexpected touch that made the experience feel more personal. What We Ordered - The menu covers all the classic Korean BBQ staples you'd expect, along with some less traditional options like intestines and both spicy and non spicy chorizo, which made the experience more interesting. What really sets this place apart is their use of traditional cast iron pots instead of grills, which was a big deciding factor for us and gave the food a more authentic feel. A quick tip: ask for smaller portions when ordering. The servings are very generous. We switched to smaller portions after our first round so we could try more of the menu, especially since we don't visit the area often. Standout dishes for us were the Beef bulgogi, Beef brisket, Berkshire steak, Pork jowl, and the Braised crab meat soup. Everything was flavorful and well prepared, and these are definitely must order items in our opinion. Final Thoughts - For the price, this was a fantastic dining experience. Great food, generous portions, and genuinely friendly service made it well worth the visit. I would definitely come back again if we're in the area.
