Must begin with...I'm from NJ/NY and full Italian ancestry. Vacationing in Oxnard close to this pizza place. Our first pizza was from Toppers - rated one star. Don't get put off by the location and the missing "Z" from their sign. It's probably been gone for years - met another customer who said the place has been there since 2005. Ordered two pizzas, one with anchovies, other cheese. The other couple with us liked their pizza well done and it was fine. I prefer mine less baked and it was, but could've been in the oven a little less. All and all I would go back and let them know when ordering. Very Important - no inside dining. We had takeout . This is probably my favorite cheesesteak AND meatball sandwich in Southern California. I travel for work all up and down from Fresno to Palm Springs, by far the best I've personally had. Not for me! Not sure if they changed ownership but the food was mediocre to bad. I haven't eaten here in a long time but decided to try it since it was convenient to my house. The pizza crust was very chewy and they cooked it way too long. I ordered spaghetti with marinara sauce just downright awful! It tasted like they opened a can of tomato paste and added some water. I Came to get a pizza since we were next door having some beers. A Small Asian older man rang me up. He wasn't friendly at all didn't even greet me. I asked him if he could deliver next door at red tandem he said no. He said he was very busy and I can pick up the pizza. How Rude! He was delivering last wkend when i was at red tandem. I Def didn't appreciate how he talked to me. The pizza took about 30 min to be done. It's a small shop and i knw Toppers is busier and your pizza is always ready in 12 min. But okay whatever. As I'm sitting at red tandem waiting to pick up my pizza. They delivered pizza to a group who came in after us. WTF!? I think this man should learn customer service skills if he wants to run a business. I Won't be going back He also snapped at me when I was about to pay. He said "cash only" what business doesn't take cards? Weird. Pizza was okay.. but if your going to wait 30 min. Might as well order toppers, they will deliver and not be rude about it. Lol Update. Replying to owner: I still think if your going to be running a business, overall you should treat customers better and some sort of etiquette. Clearly the older Asian man doesn't have any and maybe he shouldn't be up front taking orders. The person up front usually represents your business. I think we locals forget that we need to place reviews on our favourite neighbourhood food establishments. For over 20 years, we have been going to this little mama and papa Italian location and the food has remained constant. Our favourite is always the meatball and cheese sandwich, lasagna, and the anti-Pasta. The wife is always full of smiles while the husband is more reserved, but don't be offended. Recently I was sick and didn't want to leave the house. I was craving spaghetti though and fortunately The Pizza Company had it. So I placed my order and found out that you had to order a minimum of $20 which is typical. So they called back and I ordered more to hit the mark. Spaghetti was a pretty standard size and came with really good garlic bread and a side salad. So for $20 ($2 delivery fee) and tip (cash only), I got a good sized order of spaghetti, side salad, and garlic bread, and a side order of 3 extra meatballs with sauce. Pros: Super fast delivery, friendly driver, super amazing meatballs, just nice overall. Cons: Spaghetti sauce was a little bland. I ended up adding some pepper just to add a little heat to it. Others would add the red pepper flakes I assume but I just like regular old pepper. Other "con" was they did not offer parmesan cheese or red pepper flakes. I can understand the pepper but you always need parmesan with your spaghetti! Maybe just a slack moment for the driver as it was a Saturday night. So overall I would absolutely order from them again. Even if just to order the meatballs - I like whole wheat spaghetti noodles so would make that on my own. Their other prices looked very reasonable as was the spaghetti. I ate for a couple of days on that which was good since I really didn't leave the house all weekend. read more

I've been getting food here at The Pizza Company for 15+ years. Though I have not consistently come here throughout those years. I always get the spaghetti dinner with either italian sausage or meatballs, which comes with side salad, and garlic bread. It is just under $10 for this. What I love about this, is that it's a simple spaghetti dinner but it's totally good, and their Italian dressing is fantastic. As long as I can remember is has always tasted the same, and that's what I love. They are super consistent. Their pizza is also very good, and the toppings are always fresh. This place is Asian owned, one of my brother's old classmates. The pizza is good, but the really good stuff is the sandwiches. I really love the philly cheese steak or the pastrami, both are loaded. The cheese steak is my favorite. It just meshes everything together really well. The cheese is nicely melted and the meat flavorful. The bread compliments the cheese and steak well. I came here with family for lunch on a weekday and tried the Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. I would say it was the best cheesesteak sandwich I've ever had. What really impressed me was the quality of the meat. The beef was very lean unlike the cheap stringy fatty meat from other establishments. The French roll was perfectly toasted and not too chewy. I got all the good toppings like onions, mushroom, & bell peppers. The lady who took our order was very courteous and friendly. All in all, it was a fantastic lunch with a reasonable price.
