Meatball sandwich Did not ask for this bread or fries.
Michelle B.

So disappointed!!! We have been wanting to try this place for quite sometime. I'm not sure where the good reviews came from. This was my first time calling business and first time we picked up to go order. I did an online order but called restaurant to make sure they got it because I hadn't received an email. I was put on hold 3 times for over 4 mins each time and had to call back twice. My husband went to pick up order and waited for 10 mins without anyone in restaurant acknowledging him. I ordered a vegan pizza sandwich (because their vegan items have had nice reviews) and the cheese was not melted at all. I also asked for extra sauce and did not get that. My husband's meatball sandwich did not come with the right bread. I had to put my food in the oven and still only took 2 bites due to the taste.. there was none. I thought about calling to speak to a manager or owner about this but do not want to have to call this place again and have to wait to talk to someone again!!

Definitely a pizza lover here. Unfortunately, my wings have been clipped as I can't enjoy dairy cheese any more. Thankfully, Pizza Cookery has the option of vegan cheese (from Follow Your Heart), which got the job done for me! Dear Hubby and I shared a medium pizza, and found it quite generous. We agreed that we could have shared the small size and still taken a couple of slices home for leftovers. Being a little bit picky here, but I enjoyed the crust. The pizza sauce was too close to tomato paste out of a can. I would prefer it to be a little lighter in texture, and have some Italian seasonings in it. If there are any now, they were added with too light a hand for my preference. Am also a fan of flavorful (not spicy) Italian sausage. The quantity provided was very generous, but it was missing the taste kick of fennel seeds / oregano. Just a suggestion to amp up the flavor a bit. Can't go wrong with added mushrooms, and olives. I should have added some onions, too. We had some fresh tomatoes put on, but they weren't at the peak of flavor yet. I still had a wonderful experience tasting fresh pizza again with gooey melted cheese. It's been a long while since the last time I found a good option for the vegan cheese topping. The ambiance was pleasant. There was a retro feel like a nod to the older Pizza Cookery locations in the Valley. The style of this Thousand Oaks restaurant is less kitschy and modern, but with a homey, comfortable vibe. When the weather warms up, there is a generously sized patio for outside dining. Our server, Brendan, was very attentive and helpful. I ordered a mocktail - a pineapple mimosa. Very refreshing and flavorful. We'll be back.

Great night of fun, food and karaoke! First time having dinner with friends at Pizza Cookery, we wanted to try something new nearby and karaoke night looked like fun, and it really was! As a group of 8 I thought it might be difficult, but the staff was great and we had a blast. We ordered so many hits. Starting with the cheesy rolls, that are legendary for a reason, followed by a massive Caesar salad, zucchini sticks and some fries. Then we moved into pepperoni pizza and a gluten free Hawaiian, which even as someone who doesn't need a specialty crust, I really loved it. Also, the chicken parmesan and chicken parm sandwich were crazy portions, and the stuffed shells and eggplant parmesan were really good too. For cocktails we're nice, we got Hugo spritz, couple margaritas, wine and beer. Nice sized pours and quality cocktails without mixers and junk, fresh fruit and juices, which is a major bonus for me. Then we moved onto karaoke, it was so much fun and the crowd was great! We'll definitely be back!

Delicious pizza and drinks. Also came on a Saturday night when there was music. It can get a bit loud in that area, but there's another section away from it if you don't like the noise.

I had the best time last night. Service was excellent. Food was great. Music was really really fun! A must try!

I've been going to The Pizza Cookery since I was 14 years old when the original location was on Topanga Boulevard in Woodland Hills near Warner Center. After all these years, it's still one of my favorite places for great pizza, amazing food, and a welcoming atmosphere. If you've never been here before, the famous Pizza Cookery rolls are a must-order. They are easily some of the best dinner rolls you will ever have at any restaurant--warm, fresh, buttery, and completely addictive. People come back just for those rolls alone. The pizza is fantastic, the Italian food is consistently delicious, and the overall experience always feels relaxed and friendly. Whether you're coming for lunch, dinner, or a casual night out, it's a great place to enjoy classic pizza and comfort food. The new Thousand Oaks location has a really fun vibe with a poolside bar atmosphere that makes it a great place to hang out with friends, grab drinks, and enjoy great food. It's also under new ownership, and the new owners are fantastic. They genuinely make you feel welcome and have done an incredible job keeping the spirit of this classic restaurant alive while giving it fresh energy. If you're looking for great pizza in Thousand Oaks, a fun local restaurant, and some of the best rolls anywhere, The Pizza Cookery is definitely worth visiting. Pro tip: Don't leave without ordering the rolls.

Large Antipasto Salad

I came back and brought along some family members to enjoy a nice dinner (this was their first time). My second time dining here was even better!!! Yes, the garlic cheese rolls were still AMAZING, and the Cookery Works Pizza I think is my favorite! If you love Antipasto Salad, you will definitely love theirs. It's packed with so much flavor and toppings that every bite you take you will be satisfied and not disappointed! If you come on a Friday or Saturday evening, they have entertainment and we had the pleasure of listening to Jerry Breiner, who gave an energetic and upbeat performance. His music made our evening highly enjoyable, and we sang along to most of his songs. Check out their entertainment calendar online for other performers. There was a little mistake with the way the pizza was cut, but it truly wasn't a big deal and it was still delicious! The staff, however, was very apologetic and accommodating and was eager to make it right! We had no expectations, but their gesture to make it right was genuinely appreciated!! This is what I call excellent customer service! It was an all around great evening with AMAZING food, ENJOYABLE music, and EXCEPTIONAL customer service!!

Always enjoy visiting this restaurant. The pizza is really good, always get the pie cut as little square pizza slices just don't cut it with me. Our server, Aaryn was excellent and came by to check on us often. They have booths and tables so it's pretty comfortable, however the pillow in the booths on my upper back was not as comfortable as a table might be.

We hosted our daughter's 18th birthday here in the patio. They have a per person price and menu which is great. Make sure to call them to book your next get together. We had 30 people and could have fit a few more. The service was great and the food delicious! Make sure to enjoy their fresh rolls!

I used to go to this business back when they were on Topanga Boulevard in Woodland Hills. They used to have excellent food and service. I stopped in tonight at the location on Thousand Oaks Blvd. at the best Western hotel. All I wanted was a half a dozen rolls and all I got was a pile of soggy dough puddle in grease. There's no way you could go home and share this. There's no way anybody could eat it.. The guy that waited on me I don't know his name, but I believe I was overcharged for it as well. Won't be going back there again.

Came in for lunch during the week and we were sat super quick and able to get our order in. The cheese bread they offer is really good as is the fries we ordered with our pizza. The pizza unfortunately left a little to be desired. It was beyond greasy and literally dripping off the pizza. The sandwiches others had ordered looked good as they passed by so guessing if we were to come back we would try one of those instead.

Do they have a happy hour menu?

Not yet. Happy hour is in the works. Thank you

Can you order just garlic cheese rolls say a dozen or two?

Yes absolutely!

Is there family-style dishes/options available?

Not really. Although they have a lot of menu items most dish portions are only big enough to share with about two people. Even the "large" salads are only large enough for two. For huge dish portions that can feed 5+ people nothing beats Buca di…

It was late in the evening and we stopped by. The interior was very smoky and the building has very poor ventilation. This place was PACKED. I looked at the various options and decided to split a pizza with my brother. It had all the good stuff tomatoes, onions, meat, etc. I took a bite and it wasn't anything special and definitely not worth the price. I know it's all fresh, good quality stuff but something was missing. I don't see myself coming back simply because of the prices and what I ended up getting. Of course it felt like a moderate step up from a chain place like Dominos or Pizza Hut, but for me it didn't live up to what it claims to be.

I love that every visit to Neighborly gives you the chance to try something different since there…read moreare four different restaurants all in one place. One thing I really appreciated was how welcoming the experience was from the moment we walked in. They have menus available near the entrance, and the host asked if it was our first time or if we had visited before. I thought that was a great touch because it helps first-time guests feel more comfortable. After that, you order at a kiosk, which I actually enjoyed. It gives you time to look through the menu and decide without feeling rushed while someone is waiting to take your order. The seating options are great. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor patio is especially beautiful with lots of greenery, making it a relaxing place to enjoy your meal. The indoor dining area can get a little loud, but that's to be expected in a busy restaurant. During our visit, Mo was checking on guests, and he was incredibly kind. Even though you don't have one dedicated server, he stopped by to clear our plates and asked how everything was. I had decided to try something new, and while it just wasn't my personal preference, I really appreciated that he took the time to check in. As a thoughtful gesture, they even gave me a voucher to use on my next visit. I really appreciated Mo's attentiveness and outstanding customer service. That level of hospitality definitely makes me want to come back. One thing to keep in mind is that parking can be a little limited during peak hours since the lot is shared with other businesses. That said, the parking lot is large enough that, with a little patience, you can usually find a spot.

I am not writing this as a dig, we love Neighborly, I just more so wanted the incident to be known…read morebecause I believe it exceeded past normal cross contamination that's usually expected in restaurants and hope it won't happen again. My partner and I have been on a Neighborly kick lately and it's been so good consistently. However, today at lunch was the dreaded nightmare for vegetarians and vegans (I have been a vegetarian for over 20 years). We ordered just the regular green beans (in which the ingredients are literally only ginger and garlic oil, NO MEAT in sight) from the Social Monk and as we kept eating all these brown pieces started coming up. I thought maybe some mushrooms or something? But there was enough of it emerging to ask about it and It turned out there were chunks and pieces of beef all throughout the green beans under the top layer (where none was visible) that I had just completely consumed. I REALLY hope I didn't consume any, but I was eating multiple green beans at a time with a fork and I hope my fork didn't pick any of it up. I should have taken a picture because it wasn't just like one little piece, there was a lot of pieces of meat hidden in this pure vegetable dish. Those who don't eat meat don't eat it for a number of reasons, varying from religious beliefs, diet, illness, ethics, and more, so it definitely wasn't a nice surprise they made a vegetarian dish with chunks and bits of beef in it. They offered to make us new green beans but we passed. I was super grossed out and we were finished eating at that point anyways. Accidents happen of course, but when it comes to food, this wasn't just a little cross contamination...it became a vegetarian diet violation in a dish you would never expect meat to be in. Sweet staff though! And usually good food! We will be returning. But I just wanted to voice this because it didn't feel resolved.
