Excellent food and service. Everything was cooked perfectly. The bacon was my favorite due to its flavor and thickness, I prefer mine thick cut. Eggs were perfectly as ordered, hash browns were awesome as well. My only complaint was the pancakes were heavy, not light and fluffy, and had an off taste. Perhaps a baking soda issue? The biscuit was the same. The jalepeño gravy was the bomb and is a must try. Service was excellent and very attentive. read more

Warm and friendly with an extensive menu, I have been wanting to try The Place for a long while. Met a friend for lunch and we had salads, even though breakfast appears to be a specialty. I enjoyed the buffalo chicken salad and she had a lovely berry and nut version. Service is prompt, friendly and efficient. My husband found this place online and we decided to go here based on the good reviews. He had the breakfast sandwich and I had the veggie skillet. I can't understand what the big deal is about this place. The potatoes and veggies in my skillet were obviously frozen as opposed to fresh, the scrambled eggs were way over done and the "fresh" salsa was fizzy and inedible. Is salsa supposed to be fizzy? My husband's breakfast sandwich was dry and he too mentioned it tasted like frozen food that had been reheated. The staff were very nice and this place was busy, but not sure why? I am more of a waffle fan but I decided to try their special with pancakes and boy they did not disappoint. Best pancakes I've tried and I am not a big fan of pancakes. I hadn't been here since before I moved to Texas for work back in 2016. So roughly 2015. This place was one of my favorite go to spots for breakfast when visitors came to town and just because and even for hangover relief! They are still absolutely amazing! The service was great, even for such a young crowd serving. (They are usually not the best IMO) this lovely server was on it all. Zero complaints. And the food was amazeballs! See photos. This was our first time at the restaurant. It is in a small shopping center with plenty of parking. The hostess was most welcoming, even though we came in late for lunch. The menu is diverse. We all started with ice tea. It was a huge glass with lots of ice. I had a BLTEA salad. They were very accommodating in leaving off the blue cheese. It was very good. I added chicken and my only complaint is that it was cold. Two people had the patty melt with a salad. The hamburger was good, but the salad was drenched in too much dressing. The last Neal was the prime rib dip which was thoroughly enjoyed. The au jeu was perfect. We enjoyed our meal and plan to go back to try something new. read more

Wow. Just wow. Hot breakfast spot on Bell road, for sure. This was our last family meal together before we headed to the airport. Six adults and one little were seated at a large table, with little wait - and the place was a bit busy. At the entrance, it's larger than it appears. The dining room stretches around the kitchen for lots of seating options. We are very tall people and appreciated the legroom. The menu was unique in the way it offers breakfast options with heat! I was in heaven! Country Benedict with jalapeno gravy! Jalapeno SAUSAGE milk gravy! It was glorious, and spicy. Open-faced biscuit with a sausage patty on each, topped with a egg (over medium) on each and smothered in gravy. I opted for the hot stuff, which is listed as a side option though I don't believe their was an extra charge for the obvious upgrade. I would recommend the red skins instead of hash browns. They are very crispy and well seasoned. My sister ordered a build-your-own omelette. The little loved his pancakes and ate both sausage patties. You know it's good when a 3-year old cleans his plate. The service was excellent. The gentleman ran is butt off for our section. He had two large tables plus booths and didn't miss a beat. There was a small hiccup but handled it perfectly. Turn off the Fox news. Literally on every TV. You know what I don't want to be reminded of when trying to have a nice meal? Real world issues. Friendlier staff. Seriously our waitress never greeted us and just walked up and said "do you know what you want?" More comfortable booths. I had bruises and back issues after squeezing in and out of that trap. OMG, why did we avoid this place for so long?! We joined the wait list on pur way in, and were seated within 3 minutes. Service was wonderful, friendly and polite. Food, where do I start?! AMAZING!!! Best crunch banana pancakes ever, and I mean ever. I make my own and these surpassed my expectations. I cleaned off my plate. Hubby got the prime rib skillet and it was packed with flavors. I used to love The Place but that was before the pandemic. We would stop by almost every Saturday morning for breakfast. Don't know what has happened to this restaurant but it's not what it once was. I've been for breakfast a few times in the last couple of months with my husband but today was the last straw. The service is sloppy and inattentive. It took several minutes for a server to come by for drink orders and later, after our meals were delivered she never returned to see how things were. I had to flag down another server to show her how bad our breakfasts were. It's difficult to almost impossible to get coffee refills. This morning my husband's iced tea glass was filthy and the biscuit he ordered was dry and hard. I had sausage and scramble eggs. They were alright. But the pancakes I ordered were thin, flat, extremely small and tasteless. Three pancakes were served but those three combined were flatter than just one pancake I've had here in the past. I showed a server how bad they were and she said she would mention it to the kitchen. Don't know if anything was done about it there. No offer was made to take even a dollar off our bill for inedible food. This is the second disappointing review I've given to The Place. I've returned a few times to see if things had gotten any better as I used to love going there for breakfast. Sometimes things were acceptable. I'll give them that. But for the price, I expect more than wondering if THIS time I'll get a decent meal. I'm now done with The Place. I hope they can get their act together as this used to be a great restaurant for breakfast. I won't be back. read more

New location which is now west of 51st Ave on Bell, instead of east in the strip mall...I, too have eaten at the old location for years. Today was the first and the LAST time we'll be eating at the new location. Came in BEFORE the mass breakfast rush, we were sat in a section where the Food Server already had too many tables...of course, you can EXPECT to WAIT like 10-15 minutes for her to take your order, WAIT another 10 minutes for coffee, WAIT & WAIT for a coffee refill, never check up, never clear away giant plates on little table, wait forever & have to hunt down the Food Server for the check, etc... If a Food Server has WAY TOO MANY TABLES, then get or hire more HELP! Or the Hostesses should not seat her anymore. DUH! Did that all happen? Yes! Lot's of waiting and slow, crappy service. I was ready to get up and pour my own coffee and ask other tables if they wanted a refill too. The food was greasy and not that great. Bland gravy and cold eggs. :( Why bother dealing with this when I could had stayed home to make my own breakfast? Regardless of the HUGE portions and hype, I'll just stick to Denny's for breakfast. I can't believe it took me so long to do a review for this place. I've been going here for almost 4 years and have never been disappointed. The food is always so good and the service is always wonderful! The portions are great and quality is too :) it does get crowded but it is totally worth the wait and the crowd should tell you a little about "the place" the crowd is there for a reason and it's because the great service and food! I typically eat the breakfast food and their pancakes and French toast specials on the weekends are bomb! They have amazing and big biscuits with gravy and have a jalapeno gravy you can substitute that's I absolutely love! You can sit at the bar and watch sports or get a table and relax. All is well at "the place" and it's my go to breakfast joint! My son loves it too and he's a major picky eater, but will always ask for the place :) read more

First of all, they've moved. Was there the first day in their new location: South west corner of 51 and Bell. The new place seems well designed, bright and clean - like it a lot. The food was fabulous - love the breakfast burrito with whatever choices you want ... Then the hash-browns are spectacular. Tried them on the side, and I'm sure to ask them in the burrito next time. They were SLAMMED this first day, perhaps its that they had the new place and whatever buzz they had, but the price was great ($7 for lunch), the food was awesome, and the service was very friendly but somewhat slow... This "Place" is FANTASTIC!! The home made food and dessert pies are amazing! It's one of the few places in Phoenix that knows how to make the perfect Eggs Benedict. They have one of the best BLT sandwich I've found anywhere and even the Pancakes are delicious and perfectly made with care. The staff takes pride in their work and it shows! Every time I've visited, the staff has been VERY friendly, warm, and offers excellent customer service, especially Aceland and Kylee who went out of their way to make me feel like "part of the family". When I'm on this side of town, it's a real treat to stop here for great food and wonderful service. read more

The first two times here was great food and mediocre at best service. The third was bad all around. We thought maybe the cook had a bad day and went once more and it was even worse. Something changed drastically between our visits including the menu - Several deleted items. Also it says a meal is under $10 - maybe if you eat toast and drink water, otherwise it's quite expensive for breakfast food. I haven't been for lunch and won't based on our other visits. Their staff is generally rude and typically seem bothered to be serving you. Two stars is a gift because the first two times the food was good. read more

Once in a while I go to a restaurant and everything is perfect and the meal makes me say "omg!" with just about every bite. The food and service were exceptional. The staff here worked like a well oiled machine that cares about every customer on a very busy day. Cheryl was our server and she was phenomenal. Coffee was happily refilled by another server; bussers gave attention saying goodbye to people (teamwork!!). The 25 minute wait was well worth it! I had a skillet breakfast. This place never disappoints. I come here at least once every time I visit home. The portion sizes are extremely large, but it's the tasty food that will keep you coming back. You will have two options of syrup: the original or berry. (Berry is the best!) plus you can create your own omelette & they are always cooked to perfection. My husband is extremely picky but let's just say he still asks to come back with me every time for the biscuits & gravy & bacon. They have great & fast service. Overall experience was horrible. We are a group of 3 we get seated. Two other groups of 5 get seated after us. David the waiter looks our way about 3 times. Doesnt come over right away as he should of. Automatic goes straight towards the other 2 groups takes drinks and orders before ours. We're forced to wait an extra 10 minutes before he finally acknowledges us. All 3 of us are really not happy and appreciate how we were treated and placed towards the back of the line for no reason. The hostesses are rude and act surprise when you go to them to either add you on their list or bring you to a table. Our waiter Frank was the rudest waiter I have ever had. Completely aggressive and honestly checked on us one time and that was to give the check right as we were served our food. Food was great as always and there were alot of waitresses that helped us and helped make it a better experience. If you go ask not to be sat with Frank. A warning should have been given that no regard to your personal health and welfare regarding the COVID-19 pandemic is practiced at this establishment. Not a single employee was wearing a mask, patrons were seated at every table, almost in physical contact with the people next to them. By far best place for pancakes in or around Arizona. My husband always gets the hungry man special with pancakes and I do the 2 biscuits and gravy and after we split that, we still have enough to bring home for leftovers. Only reason they don't get 5 stars, sometimes staff isn't as friendly as you like, but I have only ran into this a couple of times. For the most part, the servers are personable and seem to care that you came in to eat. read more

This is THE place, literally! The pancakes are out of this world and it's got the most amazing family friendly, cozy atmosphere you could wish for! Everything is fresh and tastes like it just left the farm! Still the best breakfast stop in the valley. The chicken fried steak and eggs with a biscuit and gravy is enough for breakfast and lunch. Sitting at the bar and ordering a bloody Mary with breakfast ? It doesn't get much better. The owners parents started the original Mike and Ronda's in Flagstaff. Do not come here to eat, they do not deserve money for the quality of food and service that is provided. Luckily though they do have a bar that is open at the crack of dawn, so if you are in need of some drinks in the morning then I'm sure they can make those better than they can cook food or serve tables. read more

We were not her only customers. She brought the complete order at one time and it was exactly as ordered. Third: The food. Everything was cooked as ordered. The portions were not lacking. If you leave this restaurant hungry, it's your fault. The only negative take away was that the food could have been a bit warmer. Personal preference. Fourth: Atmosphere. Even though it was busy, the noise level was quite low. Folks of all ages were present. I observed the greeter, Dawn wiping tables and chairs as people left. She did not just wipe around the condiment station, she moved everything so that she could do a complete wipe down. She even wiped down the side edges of the tabled and wiped off the chairs. This brings me to my fifth point of view. Cleanliness- Bathrooms will tell you a lot about the staff. Both the men's and woman's bathrooms were immaculate and well stocked. I was impressed with the soap dispenser having real soap instead of the cheap foam. I highly recommend JiMichael's for the whole family or a luncheon or special occasion dinner.

My friend's wife ordered a burger and fries, and that was spot‑on: thick, juicy beef on a deli bun with a full garden of toppings. The fries were crispy, not greasy, and definitely noteworthy. We will absolutely be going back. They also serve walleye for their fish fry, the menu is substantial, and they offer specials for all holidays.
