We came here for the deck. It's a bit confusing as you walk in- seating is seat yourself and there's a variety of places to sit. Servers mill around in blue T-shirt's, but I had been sitting for about five minutes before a server approached me (and I was at a table fifteen feet from the bar). I asked for just a water while I looked at the drink list. The beers and wines are listed on the napkin holder, but the mixed drinks are listed on the menu. About another fudge minutes later the server returns with bottled water. I said that I hadn't realized it was bottled water and his response is that it's only 50 cents. However, I dislike plastic water bottles because of how environmentally unfriendly they are, so I refused it. I ordered a margarita chill, and waited about ten minutes for the drink. My server apologized for the wait, saying that frozen drinks take a while. The drink was good- nothing spectacular. The food menu is island fare. If you are a vegetarian (like me) you are out of luck. The only vegetarian item is fried plantains. The salads all come with meat. Overall, good place to come for drinks if you're not in a hurry & want to be outside. read more

Bartender Fernando and Jenn were absolutely wonderful! They told us our shots were boring (green teas) and recommended a skittle bomb 10/10.

Has very friendly waitstaff and fun bands! We also enjoy the food and frozen cocktails with such an amazing view and bay breeze. I appreciated the security personnel too as there was a very drunk guy who was making women uncomfortable on the dance floor but security escorted him out immediately. read more

My friend and I went on Memorial Day Weekend, and it was "first come, first serve" for the tables. We walked around for maybe 10 minutes before we found a spot all the way in the back. And by spot, I mean little lawn chairs and tiny tables. We waited 20 minutes before I flagged down a busboy and asked for service. When the waitress did come, she let us know that the kitchen was "down" and that she'd be back to check on us. We waited for another 30 minutes, without her checking on us. I actually had to chase her down so that she could take our order. The food was mid, not worth the wait. I also had to pay a 5$ fee but my friend didn't? A bouncer came up to my friend to let us know that since she was a "minor", that she would have to leave by 9pm. We had just finished eating, but it was disappointing to know that we couldn't stick around. The only good part of this experience was the live music. We understood that it was busy because of the holiday, but we just felt forgotten about. read more

after interrogating me and my two buddies about how old we are. they took several minutes looking and trying to bend the ids to the point where they were almost folded in half. after that they still didn't believe out ids were real so they scanned them all to check for authenticity. of course it came back passable. the youngest of us all is 22. after they scanned it they let us in with wristbands. we went to the bar and no longer than 2 minutes after ordering a drink a guy came up to us and said we were getting kicked out because our "ids were questionable". I'm not sure what that means but after that I tried to tell him that he is the one that scanned them. he then pretended that he was deaf and couldn't make eye contact with us. place is a joke. highly don't recommend. there are many other reviews similar to this one so feel free to look at them as well read more

The food was fine but it took and hour and a half to come out. The vibe was good but even that gets old when you are hungry and thirsty. The wait staff was overwhelmed. It was a real shame because the place has potential. We paid $130 to rent a cabana for 2 hours on a Wednesday night, but we didn't even get our food till 5 minutes after our time was up! Denying a person the use of your bathroom is a little odd. We came to The Point with a large group of 7 people. We tried to call ahead and received an answering machine which gave us what we thought was all the information. We didn't realize coming at 7:00 they weren't serving food until we got to the gate. Since we were looking for dinner we decided not to stay, but one girl in our party needed to use the bathroom. Since she didn't have an ID with her they refused to let her run in to use the bathroom. I get being secure when it turns into a bar, but come on. Families were just starting to leave when we arrived. read more

Although I've been in this area many times until recently I never stopped into this spot "my mistake"! My wife and my kids were headed home on a weekday desperately looking for a place to have dinner on a Monday. Most of the local spots were closed. Normally based off yelp reviews we would have skipped the point but nothing else was open so we took the plunge. Service: We did wait for at least 15 minutes for our server to come. My wife seemed to think it was because we had kids they didn't want to serve us. I managed to flag a waitress down and she said she would tell our server he's been seated Soon after our server came and he was very helpful with the menu and specials..and advised what not to order! The food was good and the ambiance was great. Bonus the bathrooms were spotless and as air controlled! Ignore the negative reviews and check this place out. See for yourself! read more

I arrived this evening with a group of 5 friends. We are all 28 years old and the point's bouncers denied her legal ID, acceptable by police and law enforcement. We were turned away by your very rude and inconsiderate bouncers after her ID was properly scanned. I have been giving the Point business for many years, came last weekend and have been here all summer. When asked if we could talk to a senior manager, and he again denied our request. Her rejection from entering the establishment was completely discriminatory and baseless. I have sent many friends to this bar and I am regretful of that now having seen the treatment of your patrons. I will be sure to refrain from recommending anyone from this place again, as we feel completely dejected and falsely accused of being underage. read more

I am so glad this establishment will not cook your food to order - I ordered a hamburger medium and the wait said they were cooked one way so I asked how I was told "between medium and well done" I guess the kitchen staff is not so experienced. I am so excited to check this new place out. For starters the atmosphere is amazing! I love the decorations and the view was unbelievable. It was very hard to get a table. I understand that it was first come first serve basis, but you had people just sitting there who were waiting for their families to come off the pirate ship. I was a little surprise to see that it was kid friendly. I just thought that because of the three bars they had it would have been a little bit different. When we finally got a table, we got our drinks quick, but the service look forever. We waited an hour just to get an appetizer. Then a little after that, we finally got our food. Luckily they were able to accommodate for my gluten allergy, and bun less burger I had was not bad. I was excited for this place and I wanted to give it a higher score, but I just couldn't because of the service. I love it here. the atmosphere and the vibes are fantastic. Steph and Gabe have to be my favorite. They are very personable and very fast and efficient. They are exactly what you look for in a bartender. I hope everyone has the pleasure of meeting them. They are usually in the back bar but sometimes not (i wish they always were so i didn't have to search through the place for them!!) Pretty good food and drinks. Good service and quick. The bar maid with knowledgeable and attentive. Nice hidden gem!

Start off by saying 80% of the entire restaurant is dedicated to reserved cabanas ... which no one sits at. Though they don't take reservations. The remaining 20% is a cramped deck where everyone must sit. The menu consisted of maybe 20 items - the Saturday evening my family went - 6 of those apps/entrees were not available (pulled pork/crab cakes/wings /etc). Food can be described as overpriced seafood/bar food. The best tasting item were chicken fingers. The white mussels were horrible and tasteless. Management/owner needs to realize the only thing bringing in customers is the atmosphere- otherwise the business is in dead trouble. We will not be back. Absolute joke. read more

This falls entirely on the staff. Everyone of them seemed ill-prepared and quote frankly annoyed to simply be there. They let that out on the customers, leading to a strange dynamic and our group leaving shortly after arriving. I suggest the ownership look into their employees before this promising establishment crumbles into obscurity. There are too many other options and they need to understand that. read more

The bouncer would not let my boyfriend in. He is 22 years old and gave her his address and zip code. She said "I think it's fake and will not give it back." She also said "I will accept an expired ID." My friends and I were confused because I do not know anyone with an expired ID. She refused to get a manager or scan his ID, and we had to uber home. I also got questioned because my last name is a Jewish last name, so is my boyfriends. I believe that they ate anti-semitic, and only accept white pretty people. Please do not attend this bar. If the girl with an arm sleeve and glasses is your bouncer you will not get in unless you are skinny, white, and blonde. read more

My time at the point started off great! Then it went downhill... The atmosphere was super cute! Lots of sand, cute decorations and games for the kids to play with! However the music wasn't too enjoyable... you couldn't understand the "singer" one bit. Might be a bad microphone, it was just hard to understand. Our waiter forgot a drink and a whole meal. Also he forgot to mention that they don't do tacos anymore.. he only mentioned this once we tried to order tacos. Going along with this, when we ordered an appetizer it came with the rest of our food. Not complaining because the food was pretty good! If you aren't going to eat extra chips don't order extras because chips come with every meal! The sauce that comes with the chips is also straight mayo so that wasn't too enjoyable. Only giving 3 stars because the staff is very attentive! What lacks for me is the quality of food- got a simple eggs and bacon breakfast- it came greasy as hell and barely filled the plate which I felt was pretty lame. Our waitress greeted us by saying "please tell me I won't have to be splitting a check between 6 people". Talk about a disgraceful way to great your guests. Instead of telling us what food was available, we started to order off the main menu, which led her to use a sassy voice to tell us that the kitchen is closed except for tacos and cheesesteaks. Like we would know that!?! Furthermore, she only asked us how we were doing once and didn't ask if we needed anything. She truly was miserable. To top it off, the food tasted like crap. I assume its because they were late night tacos that were probably scooped out of a meat bucket, but regardless they fell apart and were far from satisfying. You know that's bad when we've had a few drinks, as alcohol makes everything taste good. Overall, the atmosphere was great but the service and food need a makeover. read more

I'm not surprised that this establishment has a bad reputation already. A group of 6 young women including myself, all either 21 or about to be, went to The Point to celebrate our friend's 21st birthday. First issue was that online they said they were open at noon, but when we arrived the gates were locked. There were no signs about why they weren't open at their usual hours so I proceeded to call twice. The phone rang and rang and rang with no answer. We left and decided to give it another try later in the afternoon since our friend really wanted to get her first legal drink. We saw on Facebook that anyone under 21 had to arrive before 5:00 and leave before 6:00 which we had no issue with. We arrived at 4:45 and approached the gates. Immediately we were greeted with disrespect. The 6 young male bouncers dismissed us and told us no one under 21 could enter since it was 5:00. This was clearly not the case so they reluctantly let us in, making sure to first poorly ID us and charge us $5 each meanwhile only 2/6 in our group were drinking. We were then escorted to our area which was quite scenic and had a positive atmosphere. I would have ignored the poor treatment from the bouncers had the following events played out differently. Our table was not approached for another 5 minutes and we were never given menus. When we asked for menus the response was "uhh you should get them". When our server eventually came over she was wonderful and sweet, but that was overshadowed by the bouncers yet again. At least 3 times during our "dining experience" overly dominant bouncers approached us and made sure to let us know that we needed to be out by 6:00... it was 5:20. Eventually it's time to go, but our server is nowhere to be found. It's now a minute past 6:00 and a group of bouncers is glaring at us from across the deck area. At this point it's unclear what they expect us to do since we can't exactly roam around in a pandemic and this is our first time being here. Finally our server comes back and she's apologizing and letting us know she was yelled at for not getting us out on time. We are rushed to pay and to top it off, the bouncer announces that he has to escort us out. At this point I can't wait to get out of here so I lead the charge to the entrance. Upon exiting, we went out the "wrong" way that was not marked and were yelled at once again by a bunch of insecure men, all so they could cut off out wristbands. It's really a shame because the atmosphere was awesome, but I'll never come back or recommend this establishment to anyone due to the horrible treatment from the male staff. When we walked in they asked a 15 year old for and I.D and then the whole environment was all sand and a live music that I couldn't understand. The sauce was all Mayo. They had connect four for kids and all those kids would run around and annoy the living crap out of you. But said she would like to see another ID with a birthday such as an expired license. I don't think asking for an expired License is allowed . Who would bring an expired ID to the bar with them? Surreal experience at Somers Point tonight... disgusting. Came to your establishment for the first time after hearing amazing things- only to be left disappointed and pissed off. It's the summer time- bars do not close until 2am and your bar shows that it is opened until 2 am. We arrived at 12am on the dot for a 21st birthday with a crowd of 15 plus people and were turned away saying you were doing last call shortly. The bartenders were extremely rude and had no interest in serving us at all. Every drink/shot we asked for to celebrate our friends 21st were denied because they had "already put them away." Why would you put away drinks bottles before you even did last call? The bar was still full with other people, did you not want to make money? As a bartender who has been in the industry for 8 plus years I've never experienced such poor service and disrespect. read more
