This place is pretty awesome!! Good vibes and great food... The atmosphere is so chill (even, and especially, with music playing overhead). Our first time here. Can vouch for the roasted buffalo cauliflower, grilled cheese (+ bacon), and the couscous + veggie bowl (add blackened shrimp)... you won't be disappointed. The Porch might easily be a 5 star spot, gotta come back and score patio seating to make that call. We lucked up and got seats at the bar and avoided the wait on late Saturday afternoon. Is there an option for ZERO stars? I tried, I really did! First time - The service was okay. The food was NOT! Second time - This is where it gets interesting. I brought my parents here after picking them up from the airport. It was dead so we got seated right away (best part). When my Dad went to the restroom he saw someone go into the stall for a moment and walk back out 30 seconds later. Well, they dropped a bag of cocaine on the floor on their way out...well, turns out they worked there. THEN, it took FOREVER to get our food. But not because it wasn't ready, but because half the staff, including what appeared to be Managers, was on their phones or watching TV. We literally saw our food sitting in the window for AT LEAST 15 minutes (being generous). Despite the negative I've heard about this place, I really wanted it to work. I visited The Porch for the first time this morning in a party of 6 people. We arrived at about 10 am for the purpose of brunch. The first impressions are what earns The Porch two stars, because it was all downhill from there. The interior had great style with comfortable seating, a fantastic mix of booths, tables, high tops, and the bar in the center. There is also a large "porch" area with games, comfortable seating, misters, fans, and even an overly giant yard chair for photo ops. There are also TVs everywhere you turn for sports enthusiasts, but it wasn't so overwhelming that you couldn't ignore them if you didn't care. Seriously 10/10 for style and design. Unfortunately, the server and the food fell flat. The server came to the table quickly to bring waters but was then missing for the rest of the meal. We would be waiting or for her for 10 or so minutes at a time to place drink and food orders or ask for refills. Even our checks as well. And we got there right at open. It was not crowded at all. Now onto the food. I can't speak for the taste of others, but I can say the food was obviously low quality and it tasted like it. I ordered the brunch burger medium-well with no avocado. It came with no avocado, but the patty was really over. It was tough and tasted super gamey. It was not great quality and the seasoning was non-existent. The sriracha aioli (Mayo) was bland, and the "hash brown" buns were obviously pre-made frozen patties like the type you get in a drive through. Mine was so over-fried that when you bit into it, it was burned, crunchy, and oily, with no potato. Also, no sides with this and it costs $14. Not. Worth. It. Looking around at the meals my friends got were similar. My friend got potatoes as a side thinking they would be country potatoes, but instead they were the same frozen hash brown patties all chopped up half asses with some peppers and onions. They looked soggy and oily. Not good. It's obvious they are cutting corners on the food quality and their trainers need more service. All in all, I might try this place again if my friends want to, but I won't come on my own, nor will I recommend it to others. IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: There was not a rush of customers when we arrived. All of the tables around us (at least six of them or more, and that was just in our vicinity) were empty, and stayed empty until about the time we paid our checks. The restaurant was at 30% capacity at the most, especially if you take into account the large patio which was vacant, with the exception of two women watching their children play while their husbands were inside at the table. Business did not start to pick up until we were leaving. The one thing the owner did get right is that it is not an excuse. My friends and I brunch around all over the city trying new places and there are some joints running full capacity with 30-45 minute waits that are able to run efficiently. read more

Ordered the Poke bowl for lunch today. Came with many fresh ingredients had good flavor just the perfect amount of food on the plate. Black and white rice was excellent combo, so much freshness except I think the tuna was gassed tuna. Having lived in Hawaii for a couple years the tuna seemed far from actual fresh tuna and I should have just gotten a burger knowing that I probably wouldn't be getting fresh tuna. Great flavor from the salad and none from the tuna. Add that to the tuna color and again I think it was gassed, next time I go for a burger and fries! read more

I went to The Porch for sunday brunch with some friends and my girlfriend. The parking lot is fairly small, but they offer complimentary valet with the exception of tips. There is an extra lot across the street if parking is full or if you wish to exempt the parking service. This place is great for groups of up to 6 people. 7+ people might have to wait a little longer because they only have 3 benches on the patio to accommodate big parties. They have both high and low table top seating inside and out, as well as some seating at the bar. The patio area even has picnic benches. The patio area was very pet friendly and also has large cool games to play with friends for entertainment. They have heating lamps as well as a huge mister fan to accommodate for weather conditions for the day. The Porch offers large video and arcade game inside of the building and have large TV's inside and out to broadcast sunday football games! The patio area has couches for those who only want to drink and watch the game as well. Happy hour specials for drinks will run until the end of brunch, which is 2pm. Happy hour drinks mostly consists of a bottle of Rose, Brut or Prosecco for $15. But they also have some beer on rotation for specials of craft beers. I ordered the Brekke sandwich with sausage and a side of salt and pepper fries with a brown shugga lagunitas to pair with it. The egg was cooked over medium. The ciabatta bread was lightly toasted which really hit the spot. I would definitely order this again. As a group of 8, all of our food came out at the same time. I also ordered another drink called little Shanghai which came in a chinese takeout box with chopsticks & a fortune cookie! Unfortunately, serve here was very slow. Upon arrival, the hostess didnt seem to know how to manage a waitlist. We asked for a table for 8 and she simply replied with "we dont have a table for that many people". No big deal, we understood since it was football Sunday during brunch, we expected to wait but she didnt even offer to put us on a waitlist until we asked. We got an estimated time of 30 mins. 45 mins into waiting, we got a text to check back in and she completely forgot that we were even waiting this whole entire time. Another host came out to let us know they are clearing a table for us and it will be another 10 min wait. We were served water immediately after sitting but did not see our server for a good 15 mins after being seated to take our drink orders. Then another 20 mins until she came back to take our food orders. Other bartenders and staff delivered food and drinks to our table. We had to remind our server 3 times for water refills before she actually came around to bring us more water over a course of an hour. I noticed that other servers were very attentive to their tables. Our group were just very unlucky that day with a less attentive server. read more

My husband and I went here for happy hour. The food was good and the drinks were good but the service is what really left an impression. One of our dishes came out wrong, it was a minor mistake and not our servers fault so we just decided not to bring it up and ate half of it. Our server, Emma, came to get the plates. When she came back she said she noticed that the dish had come out wrong and would be taking it off our tab. This is seriously awesome service and was so nice of her. I have been going to The Porch since it has opened. In the winter time I love sitting outside for Sunday Brunch. Everything I have had to eat has been delicious. Their Shrimp Ceviche is to die for. I like the Forbidden Rice to the grilled cheese sandwich with short ribs. They have daily specials for only $10. Their service is spectacular. My favorite server/bartender is Kerry. She is always friendly and makes me feel appreciated as a customer. I am so happy they have reopened and are taking necessary precautions to keep everyone safe. I have seen them tell people they can't stand at the bar and hang around and when seating opens, they can move. I will continue to dine there often. Cute little place with overall good energy. My table and I got there at the start of happy hour on a weekday. It wasn't busy yet so I was a little annoyed at how disconnected our server seemed. I chalked it up to a personal issue or just a slow start to her shift but every attempt to engage got us nowhere. We finally gave up and helped ourselves when we needed something. We were there to eat, drink and stay for the evening. We ended up only ordering 2 drinks each, one meal and left after an hour. The bar service yesterday was terrible. The worst service I have experienced to the point I was embarrassed I had recommended the place. The two younger bartenders saw no problems with walking past us multiple times with plates piled up in front of us with our drinks empty staring at their cell phones and texting. How do you walk past an empty glass 8+ times and not take it, or ask if someone wants another one when you're not even busy? How do you see a customer has empty plates, pushed them to the front and stacked them- and continue to ignore that for your cellphone? Clearing plates is common sense even if someone has never trained in a restaurant. To spend $50 and have to feel like we're inconveniencing their texting to finally ask that someone clear away the plates or order a drink is simply unacceptable- and to not even ask or simply grab a new glass when I ordered another beer was crazy too. The check with the card was in front of us for ten minutes before we flagged down the male bartender to run it, even though he had walked past us on his phone as well. He ran the check and dropped it silently. Not one person working there ever said thanks or have a good day. There was a bartender, a tall guy maybe in his 30s (we didn't catch his name but he was wearing a hat) that was pulling the weight for the other two around the bar and was great- personable, engaging, noticed the empty glass in front of us and took it away as he walked past us, etc but he was only there in the very beginning. Seems like everyone else working at the bar should be retrained with him. After two rounds we just decided to leave and go to another bar where we didn't have to pay for self service and a bad attitude from two freshly 21 year old bartenders. read more

PROS: cool vibe, nice patio CONS: poor Covid practices, annoying mandatory valet I've been wanting to try The Porch since moving to Phoenix a couple months ago. I wish we'd had a better experience. We were immediately turned off by the valet outside. There were only a couple non-valet spots, so it was basically mandatory. This in itself isn't horrible, but during a global pandemic, I don't really want a stranger in my vehicle (especially one who has been in many other vehicles). We parked across the street and walked in. I was shocked by the number of people not wearing masks (ie: nobody). I understand state requirements have recently been relaxed, but I'm struggling to understand why an establishment wouldn't want to still protect its patrons and staff. My husband is a doctor and has been vaccinated, but I have not. I know there is an assumption of risk when going to a restaurant these days, but so many other places have made it safe to go out and enjoy a restaurant. We felt annoyed enough to leave. I hope to be back when I'm vaccinated and will hopefully be able to give higher praise to a place I had high hopes for! read more

I don't usually like to leave negative reviews, however, I've gone to The Porch twice now and both times they had water pipe problems. I had a reservation for my birthday and was told that I was still good to come in. They barely started to serve us our drinks before we were told that they had to shut down early. I heard good things about the food here, so I wanted to give it a try. I ordered over the phone and that was a red flag. The music was SO LOUD in the background, I had to repeat my order 3x. (The sides were still wrong when I got home) When I got there, the parking lot was PACKED. Not a single space available. I get to the front door and there are 4 employees standing around -- 3 w/ masks on and 1 with a mask pulled down to their chin. They were taking temperatures which is nice, but everything else was very concerning. The bar area was very crowded, I could see clusters of people throughout the entire restaurant. The front patio only had 1 group of people seated. Everyone else was inside. When the group at the front asked which order I was picking up, we had to literally SHOUT in each other's faces. The music was at nightclub levels. I can't imagine ordering something at the bar and having to shout back and forth the entire time. Is this place a CLUB with a kitchen? There was a Denon DJ controller in the front corner. There is no reason for music to be that loud at a restaurant. You're Arcadia, not Berlin. While I waited for my order, Ubers were showing up to drop more people off. How this place was operating below 50% is mathematically impossible.
