Really poor service. We sat at the bar with empty drinks for well over 5min with 6 employees behind the bar chatting with eachother. Completely unacceptable. There is nothing special about this place which is just too bad. Just basic. Drinks are served in plastic glasses which in itself is not necessarily a problem, the the dirty water spots are. Also, please use short straws in short glasses. I saw them on the other side of the bar but got a super awkward long straw in my drink. Water was served in a rocks glass not a normal water glass like everyone else at the bar. I do like the bars stools and that they are not crammed together giving people some space. Hopefully it's just growing pains but I have a sneaky suspicion it's not. read more

Amazing ! I mean at first by a drive by I didn't want to stop. However there was no wait so we ate. Amazing freaking tasting food So favorable I had the serial alcoholic drink and it came in a glass cereal milk box it was so good I had Coco puffs I drank that whole thing in one gulp I also had the chicken waffle tenders the bread was so sweet the chicken was tender and juicy with the syrup at served I couldn't tell you how fast I eat them it is so damn good. Tried The Porch for the first time today for brunch. The food was pretty amazing. I had the Breakfast Enchiladas and they hit the spot. A very unique, tasty and perfect brunch dish. We also had a bottle of Prosecco on ice with orange, pineapple and cranberry juice assortments. It was only $20 and it split nicely between 3 people. The salsa they serve is also a bit different, more of a blended chipotle style but I really liked it. Complimented their food well. I didn't realize their parking lot was valet only. While it's complimentary, it's completely unnecessary for the very small parking lot right next to the restaurant. The valet parked my car 1 spot away from the valet stand. After our meal I stood and waited 8 to 10 minutes for him to get in my car, pull it out of the parking space and up 10 feet. He pulled it right up to a parking cone so I had to get in, back it up 5 of the 10 feet he just drove it and then leave a tip for this complete nonsense. Not sure why they have valet at this place at all? Again, completely unnecessary. I was disappointed because I'd love to come back here sometime but the valet thing is a huge turnoff regardless if there is parking next door to the restaurant. Just prefer not to deal with that and have to leave a tip to wait 8 mins and watch my car pulled up 10 feet. read more

Went for lunch with work people. Cute place...love all of the retro decor and the porch is a great space. Just too hot to sit out there at this time of year. I had the chicken tenders with potato chips, we also had an order of humus and a pretzel with cheese dip. First, the appetizers were ok...the hummus was fine and everyone enjoyed it. The pretzel was good, tender and salty and the cheese dip was really good with a mild beer flavor. My tenders and chips were good. I really liked the homemade onion dip that was served with the chips and the chips themselves were excellent. Crunchy and just good. The tenders were good as well. The crust was not too crispy and the chicken inside was tender and juicy. I didn't care for the two dipping sauces that came with them so asked for the ranch, which was good. Others had the wings, the truffle fries, mason chop salad, the protein bowl, and panini. The panini was more like a club sandwich with a trip layer...got an "ok" on that item. Truffle fries were good although one order was delivered stone cold and were sent back and replaced with hotter ones. All in all, everyone said their meals were ok, nothing spectacular. This spot just opened in our neighborhood and we had to check it out! Its really got a great vibe when you walk in and lots of cozy seating inside and out. Food, drink and bar services were great. At the end of our visit I watched an employee receive a dirty glass from a table, rinse the salt off the rim and put it with the clean glasses to use again. It was pretty disgusting to watch and know that could be how our cups were reused. I'm sure we won't be back which is unfortunate because everything else was nice. The glass was hung up with the clean ones, not placed down with the dirty dishes. I don't believe there was confusion, we were sitting at the end of the bar and had a clear view. I have never had worse treatment than I did at this restaurant. A group of 9 of my friends and I came in to have some drinks and food since some of them had just flown in that day. We are all 21 but are not from Arizona so our IDs are out of state. The server checks our IDs and takes our order, leaves the table, only for another server to come up about 5 minutes later to take our IDs and check them again since they are out-of-state. 20 minutes goes by and the manager comes up to our table saying, and I quote, "So not all of these are real so who wants to confess." To which I responded asking her to call the cops since they are all real. She then swiped the IDs she thought were fake and stormed off giving us nothing but attitude accusing us of lying. Another 30 minutes goes by and a server comes back to give two of the girls their IDs back since the manager was hiding away and couldn't own up to accusing them of lying. Meanwhile, my ID is being held by her in the office for another hour. Kalie, the manager, refuses to give it back until the cops get there and when I try and talk to her again she tells me I have to wait outside, like an animal, and that I can call the cops myself if I want my ID back. So, of course, I call the cops while waiting outside, while Kalie and the servers continue being rude to my friends. I wait another hour and when the cops finally come and take ONE LOOK at my ID they ask her "what makes you think this is fake?" To which she replies that it's "off-center." The cops check my ID, find that, of course, it's real, and give it back and the manager, Kalie, turns around and walks right back inside, not a single word to us or me. Not a single apology after the treatment we received. THE POLICE apologized for the way she treated me and she couldn't even look at us. We have contacted the general manager and I, and everyone I know, will never be coming back to The Porch. read more

One of our favorite restaurants to walk to for a quick dinner when we don't want to cook during the week, today was a little disappointing tho. Our server made mistakes on two of the three peoples orders, and didn't seem to have any remorse, and then barely checked on us later. We decided to try the steak fingers as it is highlighted on the menu so it must be good. I would say that was a flop. Wouldn't recommend, we each took one bite and weren't interested in eating any more of that one. Waste of $17 and probably should have asked for our money back. Visited on a Sunday around 11am with a couple visiting from out of town. First...ambiance is awesome it's very open and has a great patio. A fireplace separates the dining area/patio when the cooler temps set in. Parking in this area is usually a hassle but not here. We pulled up and were immediately greeted by the FREE valet...woooohooo! We were ready for a few bloodies and some breakfast. Had the breakfast burritos and they were amazing...bloodies had the right spice and a large piece of bacon for stirring. Nice touch! Oh....and the beer menu. Very impressed by the microbrews with a few of my favorites, Sculpin and Guava Islander. We happened to run into the owner John and you just sense he cares about getting the details right and delivering for his customers. After seeing this neighborhood joint built over the past few weeks, I've been highly anticipating it's opening. I can honestly say, however, I was quite disappointed. After being seated on the patio, it took about 10 minutes to be greeted and another 10 for our waters and bar drinks to arrive. Our server was kind, light hearted, and friendly, but his service skills left little to be desired. He seemed to have several tables on the patio. I would describe our all round experience as "average." The food was exactly as describe, good, but not great. The atmosphere was lovely, the patio was a perfect spot at sunset. I may consider giving The Porch a second chance in a few months, hopefully they'll staff themselves a bit better and work out their new restaurant kinks. read more

Abysmal. Egregious. Disappointing. These aren't the exact words I was hoping to use to describe my evening at The Porch. My friends and I felt like an inconvenience to the staff. To be clear, The Porch and its staff had plenty of opportunities to do the right thing by their customers. I only wish that waiting more than ten minutes for water was the worst thing about our experience. Let me share a few of the moments that really sealed the deal on me writing this review. - Our server (I believe their name was Lily) rarely took the opportunity to be patient with us or simply do her job as a server. Case in point: after another ten or so minutes of waiting to order drinks (this was after waiting for water), we thought we'd order an appetizer. However, no sooner did the words leave my mouth for a tequila mule did Lily disappear into the abyss that is the bar area. She always seemed like she had better things to do than work with her table. Another point in the evening, right before we were going to order our main meal, Lily approached our table and let us know that she was going to run some dishes to the back, which we were totally supportive of. However, "be right back" must have an entirely different meaning for Lily because she was out and about doing anything but interacting and asking for our meal order. To say she lacked urgency and improperly prioritized tasks would be an unmistakable understatement. - Unfortunately, the person who brought us our appetizer had overshot where to place the plate and, in doing so, spilled nearly a third of my friend's drink. It would have been fine; however, he didn't acknowledge or much less apologies. Trust me when I say that it's quite awkward to ask the very person who spilled your friend's drink for napkins to clean up the spillage from their oversight. Also, since when do you get napkins after your first drink, let alone after the appetizer is served? - We were a party of three and sharing two menus, which was fine because we all like each other! However, in the middle of our appetizer course, the host walked by our table and grabbed one of our menus without even asking or acknowledging us. My friends and I were perplexed and taken aback. For reference, as a host and food runner for many a shift, I have never approached a table and not kindly asked something along the lines of "hey, I'm so sorry to interrupt. We are a little busy right now and are running short on menus. By chance, are y'all still using this menu or would it be okay if we used it for our next few tables?" Nothing of the sorts was even remotely mentioned. Seeing that we were a party of three and still had not ordered our main meal, I went up to the host stand to ask if we could have the menu back for the time being. The host didn't acknowledge nor apologize for the fact that she had taken the menu without asking. Rather, she looked at me like I was the audacious one. I was the problem for not being done with my menu in time (mind you, I could have been had Lily taken our order earlier!). As someone who has worked in a variety of customer service and industry related roles, trust me when I say that I understand not just the demands but also the joys of working in this sort of environment. It's hard in industry, especially right now. However, that being said, serving in restaurants is not for the faint of heart. At the end of the day, being a server, bartender, or host isn't just about taking the order, bringing said food or drink, seating people, and tallying up a check at the end of the night. Being involved in the restaurant industry (in any capacity) means you sign up to provide a welcoming and warm experience rather than just a warm meal. The Porch provided a warm meal along with an egregious evening full of gripes and gaffes from their staff. I'm looking forward to never returning. At least that way, I don't inconvenience them anymore than I already have by needing napkins and a menu. UPDATE: Thanks, Vince. Although I really don't need to frequent your establishment again. When we arrived, they had all of our tables ready for us and started serving us immediately. Our waitress was amazing, remaining patient, especially at the end when we split checks. I arrived before they had valet setup, so I didn't know the only way out would be the alley. If I would've known this I wouldn't have gone. The alley is so poorly kept in front of this exit that when I left I almost damaged the undercarriage of my car. It took 40 minutes for us to get our food and the food was not worth the price nor the wait. When our order finally arrived one of the plates was supposed to be vegetarian and had bacon! We had to return it and wait for it to come back the right way. They seemed to be understaff and it just makes the overall experience bad.
