She took all of our IDs after we ordered our drinks and took them to "review" them and stated that some of them were fake even tho everyone at our table is 21+. The way the manager handled the situation was APPALLING and no way in HELL am i going to come back here. She will never get my parties service again as well as everyone I know. If you know the manager personally let me know cause i still some things i need to say. I rarely write reviews, but this place was such an enormous disappointment that I wanted to warn others about it. We stopped in for an early dinner on a Monday night. Despite the fact that the restaurant was not busy, we still waited about 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. The menu looked great. I ordered the Porch Burger. When it was delivered 20 minutes later it was cold and missing the cheese. When I told our server that there was no cheese on the cheeseburger, she told me to wait a minute, she left, walked to the kitchen and returned to our table with a single slice of American cheese on a dish. She never asked us whether we were enjoying our meals or whether we needed anything. I suspect that she knew how bad the food was. It's a real shame. The restaurant is in a great location. This is definitely a new cool, trendy bar with Arcadia vibes. The decor is super cute, and hipster. The bar is huge with extensive cocktails, and basically any type of alcohol under the sun. I went basic and ordered my go-to, Pinot Noir but definitely would love to come back with a large group to hang and play games. It was a chilly night when we went, and they graciously had outdoor space heaters (and a fireplace) but the music was OBNOXIOUSLY loud. We've been dying to try this place because the menu looks tasty! We arrived at noon and we were seated immediately. Then 20 minutes went by of nothing. No one greeted us. No one brought us water. Finally I saw the host sit another table and asked her for water. The table she just sat had a server come out right away and bring them waters and take their drink order. The host brought us water and said someone would be by soon. The other table was getting their order taken when we decided to leave. We told someone on our way out we were leaving and that it had been 20 minutes of sitting without service and he said "oh okay." Not "sorry I'll get someone over" or even just a "sorry." Went inside and re-ordered with the hostess and our food was ready within 20 minutes. Glad we decided to do takeout as it it was quite crowded inside and out. The fried pickles were awesome as was the buffalo cauliflower. The cauliflower didn't look that exciting but was well seasoned. However, the sriracha aioli had no flavor which was disappointing. Also underwhelming was the veggie couscous bowl; it was bland and a little oily. My husband liked the spicy chicken sammy. Large portion of chicken and thankfully the sauce was on the side because it was SPICY. Selected the roasted carrots as the side and they were...roasted carrots. We are from out of town and this place was recommended by a Lyft driver. We met some friends for drinks and dinner and we were all happy with what we ordered. Love the porch! Such a great addition to the neighborhood! This place is always packed. Awesome spot to come with friends if you want to watch a game or even play some! Love me the dart board in the back and the giant Jenga on the patio. I have gone 3 times now and services has been excellent every time. I think when they first opened they had some kinks to work out and they are good to go! For food we have really only done the appetizers - which the fried pickles are my jam, pretzel and fondue, and the chicken fingers. I have heard great things about the poke bowl but have yet to try. We ordered take out from their menu due to COVID and took advantage of their 35% discount on our meals. Am I glad we did! We got exactly what we ordered! It was packaged nicely. We have enough hand wipes and plastic ware for all of us. We all enjoyed our food and there were 7 of us! This meal brought the family together due to the stay at home order and was quite delicious. It was nice to take a break from cooking. Everyone was so kind from the man taking the order over the phone to the person handing us our order. I really want to like this place. It's in a great location and well designed atmosphere. The place advertises itself as a place to watch sports, but I would NOT recommend going here to watch games. We went here to watch game 4 of the NLCS (go nats). They had the game on the majority of the TVs which was nice, but didn't have the sound on. Since we were the only Nats fans there, we didn't make a big deal about it until the 8th inning when the game got close and most of the tables around us were also watching. When we finally did ask, we ended up getting treated pretty rudely by the woman I believe was the manager that night. She kept telling us she'd put the sound on later, despite it being almost over. When she did finally turn it on, it was so quiet we could barely hear. I completely understand we were not the only guests there that evening and was not expecting any form of special treatment. But she was completely oblivious to game and made our group feel unwelcome. I am truly appreciative of how apologetic our server was for her attitude. I also get that this may have been a one time thing, but it was bad experience for such a big game. Still have to give it three stars because of the cool atmosphere, great happy hour deals, nice servers/bartenders. But don't think I will be going here to watch games again. read more

Tonight, Halloween Oct. 31st 2018 was my and my families first visit to The Porch Restaurant on 40th St and Indian School Rd. Our server Logan is fantastic! What a personable guy! And cute as hell. He, taught us the trick of how to play the Bimini Ring Toss game, knew the restaurants food and drink menu quite effectively and helped me, a hard-to-decide type of person to order the perfect dinner and drink. The Border bowl and the meatloaf dishes are absolutely delicious. The Jungle Juice drink took me back to my high school days but this drink tasted so much better lol. The waitress took the food back and shortly after, again delivered the same omelette and stated "that was not plastic, it was egg white film." My wife has had her fair share of omelettes, she knows the difference between plastic and egg white film. Again no apology and the fact that that was direction they took it is embarrassing. You made a mistake and then tried to play it off like your customer is an idiot, nice! Finally, the bill comes, and after all of that she charged us full price.
