The sound and the joy gave off such a great vibe immediately when walking into this establishment. This review is based on a sit down dinner and a take out on another night because our sit down was so good! Here's all that we tried: POST CHEDDAR BISCUITS - hot and cheesy - these were not as flakey as they looked like they were going to be. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. ROASTED BRUSSELS SPROUTS - sweet and spicy peppers, garlic mojo, cotija cheese | *a portion of sales from this item go to Zero Foodprint -- an org working to combat climate change in the food & beverage industry - these were good, great crispiness, char was flavorful and the sauce was sweet and tangy. Subsequently, I made a hash for breakfast with leftovers from here and these proved to be GOOD flavoring. GREEN CHILE BISON SAUSAGE BOARD (LAFAYETTE) - Rock river bison sausages, hard boiled eggs, dill pickles, bread and butter pickle relish, baked baguette, peach honey mustard - I'm a sucker for charcuterie, the bison sausage was so delicious, I ordered another after we finished the first. This also went into the next day hash! FRIED HALF CHICKEN - our famous gluten free fried chicken, choice of side, pickles, and a biscuit - ordered this on or second visit (takeout night) and did not regret a thing. It was fantastically fried to crispy perfection. The chicken was juicy and tasted like they brined it in pickle juice. CHICKEN TENDERS - all natural tenders, breaded and fried, served with ranch - good chicken, also went into the hash. OG POST BURGER*- american cheese, bacon onion jam, special sauce, griddled sourdough english muffin & fries - good burger, personally, I'd appreciate better cheese! QUINOA & KALE - quinoa, kale, arugula, roasted sweet potatoes, pickled red onions, roasted tomatoes, cucumbers, toasted sesame and sunflower crunch, lemon tahini dressing - the dressing MADE this salad, good job Chef! PUEBLO GREEN CHILE MAC & CHEESE - nothing spectacular, I would have liked this with more green chile and a better cheese base. The parking isn't a lot, but it didn't seem like people had trouble at all. We walked. It's a great little neighborhood restaurant. This is NOT a SPORTS BAR!! ELEVEN (11) Years since I reviewed Post Brewing, and they STILL have no watchable TV in the joint. TV's over the bar are impossible to watch from the bar if you're not an Owl and have a double joint neck. They're located at 90 degrees ABOVE the bar?? Owners have strategically placed the one TV in the bar over the sweltering patio to maximize glare, so nothing can be clearly seen. But good news: you can lower shades, YOURSELF to partially reduce the glare! Why can't management do it? Maybe they're not getting their cut from the $20/cheese burger?! Maybe they're too ignorant to know The World Cup Soccer Finals are playing? Atmosphere is horrible for watching sports. Prices are absurd, and service beyond taking orders is absent. Pay for a beer, then find another place. Better yet, just go elsewhere. This is more a family fried chicken restaurant for those that cannot order from Chik-fil-A after church, or for the 1% or Earth's population that's never heard of KFC. read more

Four of us visted The Post for lunch. We ordered a breakfast burrito, huevos rancheros, and half a fried chicken. The chicken, which is supposed to be the signature dish was overcooked and dry. 5 stars is not enough for The Post. We came for the Thursday special of pot pie with three people who LOVE chicken pot pie. Our waiter Dominic was so helpful and friendly. He checked to make sure they still had pot pie and had them open every warmer to find us the last three in the building. It was worth the trouble. These pot pies were extraordinary. The crust is flaky and the middle just felt like comfort. The chicken has fantastic flavor. We also enjoyed the chicken thighs as well as our 4th friend had a chicken sandwich. Drove up the street from the bookstore to the PBC in Lafayette and immediately walked into a cute rustic restaurant with exposed ceiling and wooden lights. Our waiter Ryan was personable and friendly. Service was great and prices reasonable. For appetizers we had the devil eggs ( 6 bite size) and I ate the side order of creamy mac and cheese dish. For the main course, I had a huge bowl of crispy chicken and goat cheese salad and my partner had the fish and chips meal. My salad was fresh and delicious and so big that I had to take the leftovers home. So happy to have found this gem! read more

Everything should have added up- there were a ton of complex flavors between the pepper syrup, the sauce on the sandwich, the hint of rosemary in the breading and the honey mustard, but it just fell flat. The chicken was very, very dry, almost overcooked, they charged $1 for sauce, and our poor server was running tables and the bar, so we had to flag her down for everything. The biscuits were good- like a big dense red lobster cheddar biscuit, but with honey butter. The hazy IPA was citrusy (but not overly so), the dinner special of "Brick (roasted) Chicken" was delicious, moist, w/a flavorful sauce; the side salad w/a tahini dressing was crisp & flavorful; collard greens were cooked enough (but not to mush) w/a little tang; the biscuit was unfortunately on the dry side & just room temp; the whoopie dessert was awful - they have totally ruined it adding a graham cracker (what?), the filling was only marshmallow (not combined w/powdered sugar, butter, & vanilla) &, most horrifying, the half moon chocolate cakes were dry like sawdust...yuck! Our waitress was super nice and knew we didn't have much time left before happy hour ended when we got there, so she kindly suggested us review the menu and get orders placed before it was to late. The devil eggs, French fries, and wings were so good. The French fries were seasoned perfect and had enough melted cheese on them. The wings were crispy and had a nice flavor with their ranch dressing. I could have ordered another batch, but we had a lot of food coming. The biscuits were a dense, but not in a bad way. They came out warm and the butter melted on contact. I got the 3 piece chicken tender w a side and of Mac and cheese and omg were they good. The tenders weren't greasy and had a nice breading. The Mac n cheese was very creamy and if you add a little hot sauce it takes it to another level. My husband got the chicken pot pie and it was so creamy good. The Post has an awesome vibe as soon as you walk in. Ben was amazing, super friendly, informative, he was spot on with the suggestions. He took such good care of us, I had to get the chicken crispies you never see chicken thigh tenders there were delicious. Everything we ordered was so good. The manager stopped by and chatted with us welcoming us to Colorado. I really enjoyed their in house Permanent Breeze IPA, so much so I brought one home. 4.25 stars. Usually when I hear the words "gluten free" anywhere near the words "fried chicken", I run fast in the other direction. I understand and respect that they are making fried chicken available for more people and that is wonderful, but if it affects the taste, it just makes me sad for me and the rest of the gluten full crowd. The chicken here is outstanding regardless of the coating. Could I imagine a more delicious coating than the one used at the Post? Yes. Can I imagine a juicier chicken? Possibly but it will take some effort. The chicken itself here is the star of the show, and wow whatever cooking method they use (pressure cooking maybe?) definitely works. If you happen to be here, I'd strongly recommend the chicken. The sides were delicious as well. Mac and cheese seemed to be flavored with a bit of hatch chile and the cole slaw was a bit on the spicier side which I loved. We visited this location for the first time recently and we were really pleased with our experience. As someone who has travelled around the South, their fried chicken is a little bit different - in a good way. We left without the greasy feeling, and the sauces were delicious. We especially loved the hot honey sauce and their ranch dressing! The hatch green chile mac & cheese was delicious but we actually would order it without the breadcrumbs in the future. The crispy chicken was super well complimented by the creamy mac and cheese, we didn't feel like we needed the added crunch. The cheddar biscuits were also delicious! Month later, decided to go to game night and try the wings. Either the Buffalo sauce or the wings themselves were so salty that they barely edible. Wings themselves looked great.
