Best place to ship in The City! Everyone there is super friendly and on it! They helped me print a PDF from my flash drive when no one else around could do it for me. Then they were able to overnight the document for a pretty reasonable price. Its difficult to find people that are that helpful during the holiday madness. Been going here for years, since I live in the neighborhood. In general the people who work there are really nice, but I use the place pretty minimally. I try to avoid going here b/c there is always a surcharge on whatever you do, but sometimes it is just convenient. That being said, however, I must say I was really irked the other day when I went in to drop off a package for UPS (already prepaid) and they charged me a DOLLAR to put some tape over the UPS label. I wanted to totally get indignant with the guy, but then just realized it wasn't HIS fault, but I felt that I had to Yelp them b/c it just really bothers me when they're already charging so much overhead, to charge someone for TAPE. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE! I was told that it would cost me no more than $20 to have a box shipped and held here, I was just charged $65 for a package that I had sent here. $20 was ridiculous, but $65 to have them hold a package for you?? I'm upset with myself for having paid but there was little choice, they were going to reject it and then they didn't explain what would happen if they decided to do that and then told me it was too late to do it anyway... REGARDLESS, please do not use this place to hold your packages. I used to live in Russian Hill and found a great place that would hold any package, of any size for me for only $3. read more

As a heads up, they no longer do printing services. However their UPS and FedEx services are convenient for the neighborhood. Very friendly.

Helpful, patient, didn't feel rushed when making rate decisions. I would go here before the post office any day.

Concept of having a local, private postal service is good. Execution is extremely poor!! These people need to learn how to run a business, interact with customers, staff up accordingly during busy seasons, and accommodate your clients. It's very expensive and the lines can be long and slooow , but the people who work here are very nice, and the location is unbeatably convenient. Extra staffing would help a lot, but I suspect they can't afford it, and I don't want to pay even more for faxing, so...it is as it is. I'm glad they're here. read more

I have been to postal chase a few times to get supplies and to mail a few things out. Service is ok..nothing special. I had to print somethings out and they only do it in PDF or JPG File. No .doc files which was a bit annoying but I got around it. There prices are pretty high compared to others near by. I am sure I will go back if I am in a pinch..it is only a block away. read more

This is a neighborhood place that I wish I could support but the owner just does NOT get it. The people that he employs are fine and they do their best but the owner is CHEAP. Won't except credit cards under a certain amount forcing people to use the ATM. Will not mail packages first class mail that are over 2 pounds forcing people to pay higher prices. CHEAP. Will not leave a marker or tape out for people to use forcing them to buy tape and markers. CHEAP. Every time I go to this place I am reminded of why I will never go again. read more

Meh, totally below average (2 stars is generous). If you mail anything from here, be prepared to give them your phone number. Coz' in case your package gets returned, they'll call and you have to go pick it up from them. Why on earth could it not come straight back to me (the return address)?!!?!? Throughout our moving process during which we made near-daily trips to Postal Chase, they were always friendly and very helpful, with never a complaint or grumble despite all the extra work we caused them to do! Huge disappointment. I shipped a package from them a month ago and it never made it. UPS said they would refund the money lost but we had to get it from the Postal Chase. Unfortunately, they STILL won't give me the money. Not only that, but rather than saying sorry for the delay, the say "don't get hostile". Seriously? I'm giving this place five stars, which Yelp says is the equivalent of "Whooho! As good as it gets!" Now it seems to me that as good as a mailing service storefront gets is probably never going to be "Woohoo"-worthy, but whatever...This is just a friendly, laid-back neighborhood place. If you go in somewhat frequently (even just every few months or so) they'll likely remember you, but even if the staff doesn't personally remember you, if you've been in there once and used their mailing service they'll have your address and the address of your package destination on file, which can be handy. They've got envelopes and boxes and tape and a modest selection of greeting cards/office supplies, and will advise you about the best (cheapest, most secure, fastest, etc.) way to ship your package. I've never had a package shipped to the wrong place or get lost in the mail, or felt that I was overcharged for the service. Several blocks away is the Haight St. post office, and it's possible you can ship (although only using USPS--fedex and ups are obviously not an option) for cheaper through this office, but it is understaffed (expect a 20 minute wait at the best of times), unfriendly, and generally a pretty stressful experience...I'm willing to pay a few bucks more to go to my neighborhood spot. Plus they have a candy bowl, which for me clinches that fifth star. read more

Yes, it's expensive, but you can't beat the convenience. I used to always go to the post office to save a few bucks sending a package, but now with a busy schedule and a couple kids in tow, it's so much easier to avoid the lines and just drop everything off and say "pack it and send it." They will keep past addresses you have mailed to on file if you want, so I rarely even have to look up mailing addresses anymore. Worth a little extra $$ to me to avoid the hassles of the PO. It feels overly personal to write this, but I went to The Postal Chase because I needed to ship breast milk to New York City. I'm taking my daughter with me for a week to meet friends and family, but I also have to go to work all week. The guys at The Postal Chase were absolutely great. They didn't have a ton of experience shipping frozen goods, but they helped me pack it up correctly (I brought the dry ice) and made sure I got the best possible rate. This last part was huge, since it was an expensive shipment! I was very impressed by the customer service. They were friendly, courteous, and went the extra mile to make sure my shipment got out that night. read more

They'll weigh your things even when you bring the fifteen stamps that you dug out of your lower desk drawer. They'll accept your UPS drop-offs containing all sizes of items that you've decided that you CAN really live without.. (Yes, Zappo's, you evil shoe-bearing temptress, I am saved from your clutches by the Postal Chase.) . You can send a fax or get a fax when your machine is out of paper. I don't even want to give them a one. We bought something from ebay, the seller took into the store to ship it. They put the wrong label on it and mailed it to someone else. We just got the item yesterday. We bought it March 30th!! We the owner several times as well as emailed him and he never got back to us. read more

I dropped off a package and it was shipped to the wrong place completely. The packing fee was pricey and it did not end up getting to its destination for FIVE weeks. They were unresponsive and in the end were unwilling to reimburse me for any of the delay. They showed poor performance on every level. They quoted me a price over the phone for FEDEX Ground (which by the way was EXACTLY the same price another Postal Chase quoted me. )When I got there they wanted almost $4.00 more. The weight of the box was actually less than I had told them over the phone. And the dimensions were a little less as well. So it's not as if I underestimated -- on the contrary. And the zip code was confirmed. The clerk admitted all this was true. His co-worker kept telling me "we don't know what to tell you." How about, "I'm very sorry we wasted your time"? I definitely would not recommend going here if you need to ship something out FedEx! I went to this store hoping to ship my package. The guy behind the desk took the package and told me to come back later a receipt. The next day I called to see if they could fax my receipt to me the guy who answered the phone said that did not know where my package was. He said he was going to look into it and call me back. No phone call. The next day I called again and asked the guy if they found my package. He said no but he would "look into it and call me back that day." I decided to call them in the afternoon to find out what the status was and he said that they had found it. I asked them why they did not call and why it took three days to find it. No response, no apologizes, nothing. This place might be convenient but you risk them losing your package because they are obviously extremely disorganized! read more
