When the waiter came by I let them know I was meeting a friend I hadn't seen in over a year and we were planning a long lunch. It was a Saturday afternoon and not busy. My guest arrived and the sever didn't come back for at least 10 min. But ok. No biggie. We ordered a soda and an iced tea. When those arrived we ordered food. My tacos came quickly and then we sat, looking at my food while we waited for the other entrée, the burger. 10 minutes later it shows up served by another server, no explanation or even acknowledgement that it took 10 minutes between me being served and my companion being served. Anyway our server was MIA for the rest of our stay. No offer of a refill for our beverages, no asking if the food was ok. Nothing. We stayed about 2 hours total and my normal policy is to double the tip because I have taken a table for about twice as long as normal. Unfortunately service was sub par. Oh and tea was incredibly strong not in a good way.

They're big, messy, loaded with flavor, and absolutely not something you order when you're trying to look civilized. If you leave with completely clean hands, I'm not sure you actually ate wings. The rest of the food holds its own too, but coming to Bella's and not at least considering the wings feels slightly disrespectful. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a downtown sports pub. TVs everywhere, games on, people talking over each other, drinks moving around, and enough noise to make the place feel alive without completely losing the ability to have a conversation. On a big game day, it's even better. Service has always been friendly and laid-back in my experience, even when they're slammed. There's nothing overly polished about Bella's, and honestly, I wouldn't want there to be. That's part of the charm. I don't go out in downtown Chico nearly as much as I used to, but Bella's is still one of those places I'm always happy to end up at. Good wings, cold drinks, sports on every screen, and that familiar downtown Chico energy. Some places don't need to reinvent themselves. They just need to keep doing what made people like them in the first place. Bella's is one of those places.

It's unique and full of character, even if it isn't perfectly aligned with my usual preferences. My husband, a local who grew up in Butte County, shared some great stories about his Chico State days, back when this was still a quieter town of wealthy families with unpaved roads. I'm giving this place one star for their bad business. Last year I went to Pour House after a movie for happy hour with some friends which we often did. My friend ordered the pulled pork tacos and when I went to take a bite, I bit into a bone the size of a quarter that was about 1/4 of an inch thick. It was so loud that everyone at my table heard it. I called the waitress over and gave it to her and she apologized and took the tacos off of the tab. What I hadn't realized after I left is that I cracked my molar and part of it fell out while I was flossing. My teeth are in very good condition and nothing like this has ever happened to me before so I went to the dentist to fix it and it was $290.00. I contacted Gary (the owner ) and he was very kind and wanted to help me take care of the bill. I received a phone call the next day that his insurance would contact me, which they did and all of this went on for about 6 months. After a lot of e-mails, phone calls and inquiries to Tyson, US foods and The Pour House it's now been over a year and I've heard nothing from anyone and I've paid the bill myself. All I wanted was my bill paid, nothing more, nothing less and it seemed that Gary wanted that too but it never happened so now I'm here writing this review to say that I will never go to or recommend this place to anyone. The Pour House makes more than $290 in their first half hour of happy hour so I'm not quite sure why they never offered to pay this and just deal with their insurance themselves. I did everything that was asked of me, gave all the paperwork requested, even had a letter from my dentist. So BEWARE when eating anything that had bones or prepare to pay $290 for a happy hour taco. read more

The Pour House is one of those Chico spots that's just easy to like. Good food, good drinks, good atmosphere, and the kind of place that works whether you're actually going out for dinner or just meeting up with people and seeing where the night goes. The food has always been solid when I've been here. Good portions, plenty to choose from, and it's a little more interesting than your standard bar-and-grill menu without getting overly fancy about it. It's the kind of place where everyone at the table can order something completely different and nobody ends up regretting their decision. But honestly, a big part of what makes The Pour House is the atmosphere. It has some energy to it. It can get busy and lively, especially later on, but that's kind of the point. Grab some food, order a drink, hang out for a while, and suddenly you've been there a lot longer than you planned. The service has always been friendly too, and they do a good job keeping things moving even when the place is packed. That's something I appreciate because a busy restaurant can go downhill pretty quickly when the staff can't keep up. I don't make it to The Pour House all the time, but it's definitely one of those places that stays in the rotation. If someone says, "Where should we go in Chico?" and nobody can agree on anything, The Pour House is usually a pretty safe answer. Five stars. Come hungry, plan on staying for a drink, and don't be surprised when "just one" turns into a whole evening. read more

I just read Teeks post below and would have to agree with him. There is no other restaurant in Chico like the Pour House. I have been 4 times 3 for food and drinks and the last time late night to grab a drink before a movie. I enjoyed my salmon it was not over cooked and when I ordered the squealing pig (pulled pork sandwich) I was please to taste a kick of spice and not just plain pork in a bun. Plus the sweet potato fries I would have to agree are amazing, along with the deep fried green beans or deep fried artichoke hearts.... hell anything deep fried is usually amazing. Anyways one friday night the service was a bit slow but the food made up for it and my server was very nice and checked up many times to see if there was anything else he could do for my table. Remember that it is not the servers fault the food is taking so long it has to do with the kitchen. I cant agree more with the post before me if you want a quick meal go hit up McDonalds or something but if you want some fresh New American cuisine go try the Pour House and give it a try. So I heard there was a new restaurant in town and that the food was awesome. Well there is a new restaurant in town and the food IS AWESOME! I see here that there are a few people complaining about service being slow or the waitress's not knowing what they are doing but that's just the way it is sometimes when a place is just opening up. I had the Pizza Bianca and the unbelievably delicious and filling "Big Tuna". It's a Ahi Tuna burger that is to die for. I had a hard time picking something on the menu because it all looked so good. I must also mention the Raspberry Lemon Drop that also put a smile on my face. I went there a little after lunch and didn't have to wait long for my food at all and it wasn't loud at all. It's a treat having a new restaurant on the north end of town with so many yummy things to choose from. There are 3 big TV's over the bar so it's going to be a great spot come game time and there is outside seating if you want to hang outside. Try it out for yourself. Personally I'm going to need a few more trips to try everything on the menu. read more

Tonight was my second visit to the restaurant. Not pleased with either visit. First time was a lunch date on a week day. Service was efficient , but the patty on on my burger was gristly and bland. The second visit was dinner at 5:45 on a Tuesday. It took a moment to be seated since the hostess was busy expediting food. Once seated, server was MIA for 10 minutes. When she finally arrived she informed us that they were out of the item my date wanted (on a slow weekday at 6pm). Being vegetarian, my date had few other options. Waitress recommended ahi burger and said they could cook it 'well done', I ordered a salad. THIRTY-FIVE minutes later we got our food. Ahi burger was only seared, not well done, as well as tough and fibrous. My salad was bland. Though the staff offered to bring a replacement dish we were underwhelmed and ready to leave. If this restaurant plans to stay in business they better get some better management and more efficient chefs. Will not be returning. read more

Was having a nice evening with my girlfriend, was excited to eat a nice meal until my girlfriend pointed out the nail. My girlfriend and I were hoping the manager would give us a free meal from this unacceptable situation. I question that the waitresses there don't glance at the plates to make sure it looks fine. The manager was persistent and said I didn't have to pay for my tri tip sandwich. But had to pay for my starters. My girlfriend and I believed we shouldn't have to pay for anything because our whole dinner was ruined. So we walked out, sure enough the manager tracked us out in the parking lot. Didn't catch his name but the description of what he look like white bald middle age man, skinny and about 6 foot tall. He made me pay for my starters. Never going back again. read more

Hmmm, I think they are still finding their niche. Glad they took off Korean tacos... I mean really? Don't even attempt if you're not Korean! Like their apps...fried beans/sweet potatoe fries...all else ok but unforgettable. Shocking that people would pay for their lettuce wedge. I can make same at home for less than a buck! Appetizers almost as much as meals. I get their Thai lettuce wraps appetizers which is basically same as their thai salad for less money...shouldn't it be called "Asian" since its far from being Thai? I do give three stars because they made that corner (which is divey!) a better facelift. Like the patio & fire heaters. Inside is way too loud and echoish because there are no wall barriers. Where do I begin... The Pour House is gonna be in the POOR house soon if they don't get it together. Lets see we started our evening waiting 10 mins. before our server even came to our table to get our drink order, no recommendations just what can I get for you. Then we started our 1hour and 30 min. wait for food that was over cooked. I ordered a NY steak and was presented a Hanger Steak I would say this steak was well done before I ordered it. My drink when it did come had 3 cubes of Ice I had to ask for more ice, never had to do that with a cocktail before. The place was so loud you could not hear the music playing either. I was so close to walking out, which I did watch 4 other tables do. Don't plan on returning and would never recommend. read more

The bathroom walls have ugly tile and large mirrors. It feels like someone is watching you use the bathroom through one way mirrors. The sink has the wrong faucet and it makes it impossible to wash your hands without touching the sink. I talked to the staff and the bathrooms are a common complaint. They are going to remodel the bathrooms later. I think they should put in the faucets and remove the mirrors now that way I cab buy cocktails without feeling like I am being watched as I pee. The food is hit and miss. Sometimes they are out of stuff because of a number of reasons. Sometimes it is cold. Sometimes it is the wrong food. But when you get the right food the right way it is good... not great for fancy but good. read more

The food was decent. The service wasn't so great... It seems like all the waitresses must be really really new at the restaurant business. They were all very nervous and were not very fast at seating us, getting water, etc. We went in for lunch, just two people. There were probably about 5 other people eating at the time. It took about 25 minutes to get our food... It was a pretty long wait for a few sandwiches... Then the waitresses brought us someone else s food at first. How can you get orders mixed up when theirs less then 10 people in the building? I had the french dip and it was pretty tasty. I would order ahead of time and take this home next time I decide to get Pour House again. read more

Returned a few times since the last review and I think I've found the perfect combo: the salmon dish with pasta subbed in for the rice. It's amazing! As always, the sweet potato fries are excellent. I've found the carnitas tacos to be spectacular as well. What made me update: the outside seating. It's great! Even with the traffic noise, it's still much quieter than sitting inside and they've done a good job of making the patio pretty (especially at night). The service is very good, too. This place is really growing on me. Who knows, maybe I'll update with 5 stars soon (make inside quieter and I'd change it in an instant). One thing's for sure, I'll definitely return :) read more

I've been to The Pour House several times and have brought family and friends along. We all enjoy the food. The baby back ribs are one of our favorites, the fish tacos are solid, and I personally love the blackened salmon with mashed potatoes--I always swap the bland steamed broccoli for coleslaw. Prices feel fair for the quality and taste. The place itself is pleasant, though parking in the area can be a challenge. It's located i the midst of Chico so nothing fancy about that : ) the food makes it worth it. On the two occasions I brought my elderly parents, the service was friendly and inviting, which I really appreciated. A reliable spot we keep coming back to. read more

i got a great raw tuna sandwich here a few years ago. i thought - wow - this is amazing. i wanted to bring a friend to enjoy this fantastic food. then there was the incident of disturbing the mother of a young baby. she was nursing. so, i said - i will never go there again. my friend agreed that we did not want to go. now i am inspired to write a review, because they have been building a monstrosity outdoors by the cohasset starbucks. outdoors is my favorite space if it is clean and quiet. now this monstrosity is keeping me from a favored starbucks. i feel totally disgusted, and that is why i am writing a review now! read more

Been here twice, both times for lunch. No wait, and service was prompt and very friendly. The first time I ordered the fish tacos. They were nicely presented and tasty. 3 to a plate with what tasted like homemade little tacos. The second visit I had the Iceberg Lettuce wraps. Chicken, cabbage, nuts, and various crunchy things with a tasty thai spicy sauce to put over it. Everything seemed very fresh and portions were ample. The environment was upscale. Looked over the wine list which seemed pretty extensive and not unreasonably priced. All in all, we enjoyed the place and think it's a great addition to Chico. read more

I was there today foods always great and only place has white claws apple flavor I love them but today I was banned from coming back I went to take a piss at the out door bathroom all sudden someone tried kick door in so I pulled my pockeket knife he on the second kick then opened door with my knife in hand seeing he trying kick door in all sudden I open door knife in hand he runs back bar pour house won't look up videos and ban me cuz I pulled knife in bathroom when dude trying kick door in but I also followed him back bar and pulled knife out but he didn't get kicked out he was Mexican and didn't pay his tan also read more

I have now been to the Pour House 4 times...and it keeps getting better and better! The first two times were during their first couple of weeks open and although there were a few kinks, the food was phenomenal. Our most recent trip was last night and was the best dining experience we have had in Chico. We had the artichoke hearts, Asian chicken salad, and the drunken chicken. AMAZING!!! Beer and wine selection was great, and the bartender definitely knows how to make a yummy cocktail! Service was top notch...thanks Ashley!!! She knows her stuff and really made us feel welcome. So let me start by saying the food is good but overpriced. Happy hour is the best deal daily from 3-6 and 9-close!! The atmosphere of the restaurant and the prices makes you feel like you are in a nice place. The service and the bathrooms however do not. Our waitress went home and after it seemed as if we did not have a server any longer. I had to flag down anybody to take my order, get another drink or finally get my check. The bathrooms make me feel like I am at a college bar. No toilet paper and needs to be cleaned. Oh and the flys!! Not in the bathroom but in the restaurant!! Ick! read more

I love coming here in the evening for drinks and food, I came for lunch on a week day and it was a whole different story. It was not very crowded but met a friend on our lunch break. we ordered and waited 45 min for our food to come. It never did. When our waitress finally came to say our food was being cooked now we told her we had to leave and asked for boxes. we were still charged full price for both meals and our drinks even though we didn't get to eat and wasted our whole lunch brake. Emma was an absolutely amazing server! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. Wonderful staff! The girl (on January 23rd) who added our name to the list to wait to be seated was attentive and so friendly to sit our group of 6! The food was so good I cant wait to go back! Due to some health reasons I can't eat bread, since I stopped eating bread I've realized a bun is what makes a burger, it's just not the same bun-less. We enjoyed…read morehappy hour at Burban Kitchen this afternoon -- we enjoyed our cocktails and ordered a trio of dishes to share. The portions are big! The warm beet salad is practically a meal for two. Same with the calamari, which we could not finish! (My friend isn't crazy for the spices used in the calamari breading and dip, but I liked it okay.) Leave room for dessert. We recommend the cheesecake! Seating inside is intimate. There were only a few parties when we were there but I could imagine if the place was hopping, acoustics would be iffy. Sit at the bar to watch all the action behind the scenes. Outside seating is available and dogs are welcome there. Shoutout to our waitress Ellie!

Visited June 28 2026. See my receipt as always…read more First time here at Unwined. I chose this place because I have a puppy and their outdoor shaded area is dog friendly. It's very nice inside with sleek decor. Patio is nice size as well. Full bar and wood burning pizza oven. We came here for breakfast ( scrambled eggs..bacon..toast) but they only serve that on the weekends. We pivoted and got the Waglu burger with garlic parm fries. The burger was juicy ( messy..extra napkins ) and the fries were nice and crunchy and delicious! Plenty of garlic! I ordered a buttery chardonnay and he got a Farmer's Brewing beer. Very good with the food that we shared! The waiter BRADEN was wonderful and very attentive! Great personality ! The only thing I was surprised about was the 2 dollar charge for alittle ranch dressing and 5 dollars to split the plate. Never ate the dressing and never asked to "split" the plate. Other than that the food was tasty and the waiter was awesome! I heard their brunch is very popular with make your own bloody marys!

The carpet in particular is somewhat outdated and very dreary. We were seated right away with an evening reservation. Our server was the most delightful, helpful as well as professional person. She definitely made for an enjoyable experience. The menu is nicely broad with some very good and interesting selections. For an appetizer I selected the Alsatian Tarte Flambe. With the description of a "tarte" plus "puffed pastry" I was somewhat surprised when what looked like a flatbread arrived. Although somewhat true to the description I expected something like a cup shaped pastry. It was delicious enough so no complaints over the ingredients and flavor. If anything it tasted a bit top heavy with vinegar, yet still enjoyable. I washed it down with a Schramsberg Prosecco which was a perfect accompaniment. For an entree I choose the Grilled 6oz Petit Tender (medium rare) with asparagus and scalloped potatoes topped by a red wine and berry sauce. It was excellent, flavorful with the meat very tender. I was very pleased. It was an abundant portion so I was quite full after consuming it. My dining companion had the grilled meatloaf with ground filet mignon and pork sausage. It is baked and then grilled. I tried some and it is EPIC. It has to be one of the best meatloaf preparation I ever tasted. Bravo on this dish! We shared a bottle of Tempranillo to accompany it which was perfect. For dessert we shared a nice and refreshing mint chocolate chip ice cream which was generously comped as we were there for a special occasion. Thank you! I would definitely return and try other dishes, although the meatloaf is a must standout. Overall a very good experience.

Not overly lemon or strong vodka. My hand made ravioli was perfect! Cherry heirloom tomatoes, in a wonderful sauce. My fiancé had the filet medallions, we had the nicest time.

Being pregnant, she's operating with heightened food detection abilities that rival military technology, so she immediately declared, "We're coming back here." A week later we returned with her boyfriend and brother, and what followed can best be described as a competitive eating event. The hostess greeted us warmly, got us seated quickly, and we settled into the lively outdoor patio. Great atmosphere, cold drinks, sports on the TVs, and just enough energy to feel fun without feeling chaotic. We started with ahi bites, beer cheese pretzels, jalapeño poppers, and Brussels sprouts. The ahi bites were fantastic. Fresh ahi, creamy avocado, crispy wontons, and a little heat at the finish line. The pretzels were soft enough to pull apart with your fingers and the beer cheese was rich and addictive. The jalapeño poppers got an unexpected upgrade from the blackberry BBQ sauce, which gave them a sweet, smoky personality all their own. Then there were the Brussels sprouts. Whoever thought of pairing Brussels sprouts with blackberry drizzle deserves a raise. Sweet, savory, crispy, tender, and impossible to stop eating. For dinner we sampled the taco bowl, brisket bowl, rice bowl loaded with brisket, and a house salad. The taco bowl was colorful, fresh, and loaded with flavor. The brisket bowl was my personal favorite. Smoky brisket over fried rice with vegetables, crispy wontons, cotija cheese, and a sweet-spicy sauce that kept me digging in long after I should have stopped. The rice bowl with added brisket was almost comical when it arrived. Massive chunks of brisket perched on top like they owned the place. Tender, smoky, juicy, and worth every penny. Even the house salad was fresh enough to remind us we were technically eating vegetables. What stood out most was that every dish felt like someone in the kitchen actually cared. Nothing felt thrown together. Portions were generous, flavors were bold, and everything hit the table looking as good as it tasted. We originally found Parkside by following our noses. After this meal, we'll be following our cravings back

We made reservations online due to the fact that it was graduation week for Chico State and the process was easy. We were seated immediately, the restaurant is a little bigger than expected because we were seated in the back section of the restaurant. But - definitely small at the same time because in the front of the restaurant is the bar and right next to the bar are the bathrooms; if there are people standing around the bar, there is no room to move around them. (When we were there those standing around the bar were are barely aware of their surroundings and didn't move for you to get through) Our server was vibrant and nice, he made sure to mention the new items for the week and hyped up each dish we chose to order; he even remembered that we were there for a birthday (as I added this comment in the reservation). However there were little mishaps, for example : my husband said no anchovies in his Cesar salad... when the salad was brought: anchovies. Our server took all my utensils when he cleared our table and left me with nothing; he noticed and said: "I will bring you an extra fork for your dinner." - welp , no fork was brought.. We both got pasta: I got the shrimp Alfredo, he got the Alfredo and added meatballs... I raised my hand to try to get our servers attention, but that didn't happen so my husband gave me his fork and he ate his pasta with a spoon. (Don't try it). I think our server was just a little frantic. When we got our food we agreed that the Alfredo sauce was a little watered down with not much flavor. (Had to add salt) but they did give big portions. At the end of the meal, we got brownies on the house for my birthday, which was nice. Overall, will we got back? Probably not. But- we did see a video online stating their calamari was the best thing on their menu, so MAYBE we will go back to try that.? Who knows.
