So my friend and I came here after having a bit of a rough day. We sat down and the bartender carded us (she's freshly 21 and I'm 23) no biggie. He hands her her card back but looks at me and stares at mine for a solid 2 minutes... no joke. After I clear my throat he hands it back to me reluctantly as if something's wrong. We both get mixed drinks. My Jack and coke tastes like straight up soda... our bartender wasn't rude, he kept up with the service, and the next drink was a teeny bit stronger... but for $7.50 a pop I'd prefer a little more jack with my mixed drink... not sure why he skimped on me because there's nothing wrong with my id. That def. Rubbed me the wrong way... I was just irritated because if I'm paying for a drink and I'm of age, it's not up to your judgement of what I should get. Obviously a popular venue for locals and hotel guests. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with shoestring fries. The food was great and just the right portion sizes. The venue is a noisy one and would be hard to carry on a conversation. The service is lacking and slow. It was several minutes before I was acknowledged for a drink order. The food delivery is quick. My drink was never refilled. The waiter seemed to be more annoyed by having to wait on a table with one person. Love this place. Best craft beer selection in area for hard to find beers. Food is consistent gastropub style food. Free wifi, kids menu, raw bar, reasonable prices and beer specials. I especially like the Pour House Deluxe burger with bacon marmalade and truffle fries! I have had good service most every visit here and I go here at least once a week with my family. I'll preface this review with, I do want to try again. Everything on the menu sounds delicious, so I went with something I wouldn't readily make at home: Ahi Tuna Poke Tacos on corn tortilla. They were...fine. Dry and uninspired, which was disappointing because they sounded amazing on the menu. I tasted no lime cilantro or sriracha whatsoever. The sesame seeds would've been tastier toasted. Thougg the burgers are thick, they were also a bit dry on this particular Saturday night. The Famous Fries are crispy and served with a cheese sauce, but wow... salty!!! That said, the short rib fries are amazing and worth ordering every time! I'm not a craft beer fan so I won't speak to that, but the mixed drinks were good. Music starts at 8pm so if you're seated near the front, you'll be challeneged to carry on a conversation. ACTUALLY, the entire restaurant is super loud so I don't recommend this.place for large parties. We'll try again, because any place with short rib that good deserves a second chance. read more

Came here with my family last weekend because I was doing some shopping in the area. I split the Mexican Caesar salad and burger with my mom - we loved both! The seeds in the salad were a great touch, I love a salad with texture. The burger was perfectly cooked and the bun was really good too. Love that they have crab fries too! Service with an attitude. Food was good and beer was good. A person in our party asked our server if the they could take all the empty dirty plates off the table and the server (Kelsey), with a snotty attitude actually said "thanks for the advice." Great food, best burgers around, staff and bartenders rock. Only note, if you are a bar-goer beware of happy hour. There is usually a clique of late 30 / 40 - something regulars at the bar that act like they own the place. You will know them when you see them, best to ignore. The cider was definitely pour and when we asked about it before we order it the waitress's knowledge was pour. Hopefully we won't have to visit the pour house ever again. I asked a mother with headphones in her ears.. multiple times to quiet her jumping up & down, pounding on the wall, screaming child...things got pretty heated, but it was me and my 86 yr old mother who were asked to leave. The staff acted like this screaming kid was invisible....when did it become acceptable to let children act like this in a restaurant?? This place started out as a five for us but the last few visits have indicated the food has taken a significant turn for the worst. Beer selection is good. On our last visit the cheese for the pretzel appetizer came out dark orange / brown and extremely hard. We asked the waitress about and she said that's just our cheese. We then asked for a new serving and she brought it out a little less hard and told us she just mixed it with some water . My medium burger came out extremely dry and burnt on the edges which tasted pretty bad. I will say that the short rib fries were still pretty good. Overall, something has changed. I fear that the restaurant has started cost cutting or something. This was a perfect place to meet friends at the mid point for dinner but we'll be hard pressed to come back given recent quality struggles. read more

I've been here a couple of times for dinner and a brew. Their selection of beer is impressive. I love a good lager with my food. The food here isn't anything to write home about. I had the calamari last time and it was just ok. The rings were small. It felt like more breading than actual squid. Overall, it's a great atmosphere to drink in and watch the game. read more

We've been to the Exton PA location twice in the past month. Both positive experiences. It's a "Pour House", so obviously beer selection is on-point, with the possible exception of light beer selection (I've been on a diet of late, so I'm always on the lookout for decent light options). So far I've had the shrimp tacos (on corn tortillas) and the Kickin' Crunch Burger. Both great. Clean establishment, servers were attentive on both visits. Prices are fairly average for the area. Popular place, so you may have to wait during peak hours. We'll be there again. Definitely worth a try... read more

I forget which comedian said it but he was asking how one would explain Appetizers to starving 3rd world countries. " Yeah, we'll its kind of the meal you eat before you eat your meal..." A crazy concept. At home, if I so much as eat a saltine cracker beforehand, my dinner is ruined, but when we go out we can't shove enough in our mouth. So I was meeting a friend , who lives by Exton and after checking Yelp, we agreed on The Pour House. As we entered, I realized that this is where Cheeseburger in Paradise used to be. I felt that Pour House is definitely an upgrade, before I even left the lobby. Nice, wide open place perfectly lit, with ample TVs. You get a massive list of draft and bottled beers. Our comely waitress came to the table so quickly that I had to send her away so I could study the beer list(s). I settled on a Lagunitas Brown Sugga on draft, which I was disappointed in. The name and description let me to believe that it would be on the sweet side, but it was a little citrusy and bitter. My friend got a bottled Vanilla Porter that I chose as my second beer. It was wonderful. So back to the subject of Apps. PH has the usual suspects of the Nacho/ wing variety but they also have a section of mini apps, which were perfectly portioned and priced. We ordered the pretzel bites, which were nothing more than store bought in the freezer section but served with a great cheese dip and the chips and dip which seemed to be store made kettle chips with French onion dip. Again, while sparse and simple I found it to be a perfect appetizer and we had both for under $8. I'm pretty sure I saw cocktail weenies on the menu too. That's a win. It seems their other specialty besides beer and light bites are Burgers. This was all part of the plan. There were so many good ones to choose from. Every time I saw one and decided it was for me, I scanned further and had to change my mind. I discarded my usual advice of keeping it simple the first time around by getting their signature " The Second Coming " burger. This decision was made once my friend said he was paying, ha! The burger was great. I'm not normally the kind of person to eat a burger with knife and fork but I couldn't pick this sucker up. I forget all that was on it but it was a delicious mess. I saved some of the pretzel cheese for my fries which was a fantastic idea with regards to Chickie and Pete's. Overall, the Pour House experience was a winner, without putting us in the Poor House. If I were to title this review, it would be "Its OK, But...". To be fair and as an FYI, they just opened. They are most likely just starting to work through some kinks in their system. And I'm sure I will give them another try. But, I have to go by the experience I had. We visited on Wednesday 6/26, smack in the middle of the week. It was still packed (given its a new restaurant), but we fully expected to wait; As I knew they would have a solid beer menu, I didn't mind taking a visit to the bar for a bit prior to dinner. In this regard, they didn't disappoint. The beer menu is a big screen TV stretching across the top of the bar showing about 30 draft beers to choose from. What I was extremely happy about (besides the quality selection) was the price. Most of the beers were in the $5-6 range, which is completely reasonable if not inexpensive for craft brews. Unfortunately, for the 15 minutes between when I decided what I wanted and our pager went off for our table, I was unable to get a bartender. Not a one. Three were on the one side of the bar, and the bartender who I believe was supposed to be covering my corner where I waited with another 4-5 people was too busy flirting with a guy at the far end (who, lucky for him, had a beer in hand). Once I got to my table I was able to order a beer quickly enough, and our waitress apologized for the wait. The Imperial IPA was outstanding... And yes, worth the wait. I had the Korean BBQ wings for an appetizer. Even though they were busy, they came out VERY hot, and absolutely delicious. The restaurant advertises its oyster nights; If they have wing nights, it would be worth a visit as well. However, we get to my salad, the fried chicken salad. To say it had no flavor would be to offend flavorless foods. The chicken was dry and without flavor, and the dressing tasted like someone thickened water with flour. If it wasn't for the fact we wanted to take advantage of a break between storm systems to get home, I probably would have sent it back. So the visit was "OK, But...". The beer selection was outstanding.... But good luck getting a bartender (unless you're a single male). Some food was good, but... Other items should go back from whence they came. The Pour House could be a great addition in Exton... But, its got a LONG way to go to get there IMHO. read more

Pretty sure they're owned by the same company that owns PJ's in Downingtown. They also look the same. The difference is the Pour House is heavy on the burgers. What worries me is that there's no creativity on the menu. Sure there are crazy burgers and toppings but that takes a cook to, literally, cook it. You could train a monkey to prepare a burger. BUT this is completely off topic as I did not have a burger nor do I go to restaurant bars often. So here's the fair review. I had a shrimp & asparagus salad. Little bits of shrimp, tasted frozen, among a huge plate of arugula. The greens overpowered everything. This was an arugula salad with shrimp, egg, bacon add-ons. In conclusion, it's bar food. We visited on Wednesday, July 3 around 7pm. We had about a 1/2 hour wait, which I expected. Once we got our drinks from the very busy bar, we sat outside and enjoyed the "view" (parking lot). The bad news: Bartender was clueless and very unfriendly. In fact, when she was asked for a mixed drink (not a draught beer) she asked someone at the bar for the recipe, who rolled her eyes dramatically, and then proceeded to get the drink wrong. Twice. Study a basic bartending book, girl, and your friend at the bar too! Then, change your attitude. Smile. You are in the service industry. You have to work for those tips. The good news: The burgers were quite good. I had "The Second Coming" (not sure if it was worth $14.99, but it was yummy) and others in my party had Bacon Blue and a Bacon Cheeseburger (they forgot the bacon and brought it out separately). Fries were cold. Our waitress was very sweet, as fast as she could be, and apologetic. Bar was very slow getting our drinks to our table for that all important second round. Stopped in this past Saturday afternoon. Place was not too busy for a change. Liked the classic rock memorabilia all around the walls - had a Hard Rock Cafe vibe without guitars hanging in glass cases. Unfortunately, the food had a Hard Rock vibe too. Beer reigns supreme here - over 100 different bottles and roughly 30 on draft. No kolsch choices seemed odd this time of year. But found an ice cold bottle of Brooklyn Lager fit the bill. My lady had the house Chardonnay. It was typical of a house wine. Nothing special. For lunch we started with house made onion rings to share as an appetizer. Very nice choice. Tasted fresh and one of the better onion rings in the area. Next time we will order the sauce on the side. My lady had the beer can chicken salad. Nice big portion. Fresh lettuce. Was happy with her meal. I tried the Second Coming Burger. Supposedly this won some kind of award as Philly's favorite burger. I demand a recount if this is true. Our waitress didn't know how they won that honor. The Shake Shack, Five Guys, 500 Degrees, Rouge - these are just a few better burgers in my opinion. Included fries and a pickle. Finally writing my review of the Pour House after numerous trips! I have been a regular at The Pour House in Exton for a few years now. They have great food, great beer, and a great staff. There is a reason this place is so popular. I am a burger connoisseur and they have probably the best burgers in the entire area. The second coming burger was voted Philly's favorite burger! Their appetizers are also tasty, we always get the crab dip which comes with pita bread to dip into a crab and cheese sauce. It is one of the best items on the menu. The real reason this place is one of my favorite is the diversity of their beer selection. Their entire beer menu is almost entirely craft and import beers. They have a selection that would rival a neighborhood restaurant that also specializes in beer. They also get a variety of beers that you can't purchase anywhere else. Amazed I haven't written a review for this place before, because it's fantastic. All of the burgers are amazing (the second coming is my favorite), and this restaurant easily places in my top five, maybe top three places to get a burger. The draft list is always impressive, with a nice mix of some staples and deep cuts and some interesting local contributions. The bottle list is also remarkable and fills in any possible gaps for something you might want not available by draft. The food was actually pretty good, but we had to go to the bar and get our own drinks because our waitress just wasn't interested in our table. We were recommended this place by a friend in the Exton area so four of us went here on Saturday night for dinner. I liked the atmosphere and decor of the place. I also really liked how they didn't cram as many tables in there as possible, there was ample room in between each table which is something that I think people take for granted. Who wants to back out of their chair and hit the person behind them? Onto the food and beer...we ordered the pulled pork nachos to share. Holy crap these were amazing. I mean, might be the best nachos I've ever had amazing. I say that because 1. they were absolutely delicious and 2. they weren't you're typical nachos. Homemade chips topped with baked beans, pulled pork, slaw, and a little cilantro. Heavenly. For dinner I ordered the shrimp tacos which were very, very good - topped with a corn and avocado salsa that made them the perfect kind of summer meal. Everyone was very happy with their meals. The beer list was top notch - a list of 20 or so drafts that ranged all over so there was something for everyone. Would definitely go here again. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for some up-scale bar food, this is the place to go. read more
