The QuietCool Guys installed a new Whole House Fan in my Lafayette home today (I called them two days prior!!). They arrived on time, completed the work in under two hours, and explained everything about my new exhaust fan to me. They were very professional, covered a very large area around where the work took place with plastic, and cleaned up nicely afterwards. It was like they were not even there. The ceiling vent is almost invisible!! Very nice installation. The wireless remote they provided with the fan is very nice too!! Wow! I called one day and 3 days later my new, super quiet, whole house fan was installed. My old house came with an old school whole house fan. we LOVE it, as we don't have a/c where we live and the house fan works great. However, the way old fans work, it was super noisy and big. My littlest dog would hurry downstairs and hide when we used it...not good. So we upgraded to the new fans and it's amazing. it takes up much less space and is so quiet. We love it and my dog didn't even realize we had turned it on...so no more hiding. Due to the different size, they put in a piece of wall, but it is up to us to finish it, which we knew in advance. It's been more than 2 years since I installed the whole house fan and also attic fan. The service was all good and I was super happy. Within few days I started getting a weird smell in the second floor and this happened especially when the attic fan ran. I called them again and they sent across the same person who did the installation, checked and confirmed all is well. Since then my whole family started seeing health issues and I was not sure where it was from, my kids started developing breathing issues and also started seeing fine pink dust when I vacuum the home. Recently I had a contractor who was installing new A/C unit and told him about the same. He checked and sent me this pictures from my attic - the whole house installation had gaps the way the device was fit in and each time my attic fan ran, it pushed the air into the house along with minute insulation. Very disappointing that even after me telling them about the smell, they ignored. Made a big difference on the kids health. We no longer use the fan's but sharing this for others to also know and please don't fall for the 5 star reviews alone. read more

Given that we live in CA where we have dry hot summers, i always wondered why houses didn't have fans that suck all the hot air out of your house and bring in fresh air. Our climate is ideal for something like that. Turns out they did, they just went out of fashion a few decades ago. Enter QuietCool's whole house fans-a quieter more energy efficient take on the idea. QC Guys installed a whole house "Stealth Pro" fan for us last month and did a great job. Installer was very professional and the fan works amazingly well. These aren't whisper quiet by any means but they are no worse than running fans in your bedrooms (obviously depends on where the intake vent and fan is located during your install). In the summer we tend to run our thermostat pretty conservatively due to the cost of PG&E and this is going to help so much after sundown especially on our 2nd floor where the bedrooms are especially to equalize the 5-6 degree temperature differential between floors as well as get all that hot air out of the attic that just leaks into your house overnight. read more

I started shopping for a Whole House Fan after getting a PGE projected bill of $600+ for July/Aug 2023. Yes, I was running central A/C for several hours in the afternoon/evening. A bit of online research revealed that QuietCool is a reliable brand of Whole House Fans. I was not confident in installing the whole house fan myself and did not want to screw anything up in my attic, so I decided to find a dealer for installation. I found QC Guys from QuietCool's website (https://quietcoolsystems.com/where-to-buy/find-a-dealer/) and requested them a quote via Yelp on Aug 1. Drew from QCGuys quickly responded with the recommended fan models for a house of my size, their prices, rebates and an offer (free remote) they were running at the time. I decided to go with "QuietCool Stealth Pro 6.0x" for its energy efficiency (462W at high speed compared to 777W of a Trident Pro of similar capacity). Their first availability for a free site visit was 3 weeks later (on Aug 21). Though they did not commit for installation on the same day as the site visit, Drew told me that if everything looked good at the time of visit, they can go ahead with the installation. Site Visit: The appointment with QCGuys was scheduled between 8 AM and 10 AM on Aug 21. I had an appointment at noon on the same day, so I wanted to make sure this get's done before its time for me to leave. Tonatiuh and Lyle from QC Guys arrived by 9 AM, inspected the attic and deemed it ready to go. They soon started the installation and finished it by around 10 AM. They were friendly, professional, and easy to work with and communicated really well. They demoed the fan and the remote, its 3 speed settings and timer, tips on running it efficiently, cleaned up the site, shared the user manual and went out the door by 10:20 AM - quicker than I expected. :) Excellent service, thanks guys! TL;DR? A delightful experience with QCGuys, I highly recommend them. WHF performance: It's been more than a week after installation, and I am happy to report that the "QuietCool Stealth Pro 6.0x" WHF has been working well. We turn it on in the evening around 8 PM when the outside is (5 to 10F) cooler than inside, and keep it running 2 or 3 hours (based on how hot the day is), and it does a great job cooling the rooms and the attic. And after that, our master bedroom stays cool throughout the night, unlike earlier when I would sometimes wake up in the night and turn on the A/C again. :) And the Stealth Pro 6.0x has been quieter than I expected. It's rated at 49.3 decibels at high speed, and when I am downstairs or in the master bedroom, I barely notice it's hum. Posting a few photos from two temperature sensors to get an idea of how well it cools down the attic and living room (in 2 hours). Was looking for a Whole House Fan. Since I was in Gilroy, I know it can be hard to find a place that would install them, so I did what most people do and looked on Yelp. The first listing I found was another company with the most review and located in Campbell which is great right? Message them and they responded the next day giving me pricing BUT they said they normally don't service my area. Said they could message me in November when they are slower and maybe book something then. Decided to go onto the QuietCool website (Best Whole House Fan if you do the research) and see if they had a recommended dealer. They recommended this company; The QuietCool Guys. Decided to message them on the website and Drew responded in minutes. Minutes not a day later! I thought I did my research and wanted the stealth 4.8x for my house size. They recommended the 6.0x and were willing to bring both on the installation date to see what was best. I went with the stealth 6.0x and I don't regret it. Better to go larger than a smaller unit that could struggle to work. On the day of the installation, they texted me the estimate of the time the crew would be arriving and even the photo of the person I would be talking to, Cody. Cody was very professional when he did the installation. They laid down the plastic sheet and vacuumed the whole area. Installation took about an hour because of my attic space. They tested out everything and showed me how to use the RF controller. Cody even had some recommendations on how to put the RF controller on the wall so that it wouldn't damage the wall. Overall, this company is very responsive, professional, thoughtful and did a great install. Even though they were further away, they were willing to travel about an hour away to do the installation. With the manufacturer rebate and the free wireless RF control, which the other company didn't offer, this place was cheaper. I highly recommend this company! read more

So after one month when i called, there was 200 discount going on and they offered me that as well. On the day of installation, 3 technician came. They checked everything and gave me different options. I had the option to go with installation or just tell them that i am not interested. It was a visit with every option but no obligation to make a purchase. As i had decided for this fan, i told them to install it which they did in a very quick fashion. Probably took only 45 minutes to do everything. All 3 boys were expert in their job and very professional. Based on my experience, this fan is must for homes of Indians because of cooking spices and frying jobs. The deep frying cooking creates a lot of smoke and the fire alarm just start buzzing all the time. As soon as i use this fan when my wife does the cooking, all the smoke and smell is just quickly pushed out of the home and fresh out side air starts filling the home. For the summers, this fan is amazing as it allows you to sleep without air conditioning on. I believe this fan is must for central valley homes where you have very hot days but colder nights. I personally don't like the chill of air conditioner hence the cool outside air which this fan pushed in, is a great experience. I was thrilled with my experience with QC Guys. Drew answered all my questions via email, provided clear options on various fans for my 2 story 3000 sqft house and provided an all in price. Super simple, and the scheduled the install within a few days. On the day of they communicated clearly and Cody showed up exactly on time. Cody wore his mask for COVID protection and meticulously laid down plastic before going into the attic to inspect. He looked around to identify the optimal place to put the vent but also where it would be the least visible when you walked in the house. His careful measurements resulted in a perfect install of the venting so that it looks great. Cody then carefully walked me through how to use it and what to expect. I couldn't have been happier with the whole process. Cody cleaned everything up and left the house like the fan was always there. But the most amazing thing is the fan. I can cool down my house in 20 minutes in the evening by running the fan instead of 4 hours with my AC. I'm still in the first few weeks of owning it but we've had several 85+ days and it does an amazing job. The fan running on high is louder than I was expecting, but I usually only run it like that 10-15 minutes then change it to low and that is about the same noise as running the air conditioning (very quiet). Even on low you get an amazing amount of air pulling through your house. The RF controller is continent because if you want you can bring it with you to control it from another room. I doubt I'll have any issues with the fan but based on how great QC Guys have been I'm sure they'd respond quickly. This seems like the perfect way to cool your house in the Bay Area. Overall 4.5 out of 5, just knocked them alittle since I tried emailing/pming them here on Yelp and never got a response, so I had to call them and email them during some of my questions and installation, payment and appointment. Anyways, once we were able to contact them and have them respond, the setup of the first appointment was real quick and easy. If I recall, between the call and appointment for our house was like a week and a half roughly. On our appointment date, Cody who was our technician showed up on time at 8am (8-10am window slot). He was very friendly and polite and quick in the installation of our attic gable fan. But during this time, we had a small heatwave and this was sort of when I discovered that our gable fan was attached to a light switch for our attic. So to basically run the fan, I would need to have the lights on 24/7, so once learning of this, I contacted qcguys through another email address and drew responded back very promptly and I told him the problem and when would Cody be available for this repair, he gave me the next week date which worked perfectly. And since he was coming out again, I then decided on getting the whole house fan, since I felt a tad cooler in the afternoon (I sleep during the days due to overnight shifts) I felt the early/late evenings was still pretty warm so this ideally would be less stress on my ac but also being in cleaner air or like a fan just move air around. While I wasn't there for the second visits, my mom was and she still said that Cody was nice and polite and while I looked at the newly installed vent in the hallway ceiling, I didn't see any debris on the ground so he also looks to be very clean and professional when doing more interior work of the house. I received a referral from my A/C guy for Quiet Cool for whole house and attic fans. I reached out and spoke with Drew who answered all of my questions and recommended a system for us. Cody showed up and performed the install, we bought a whole house fan and an attic gable fan. Unfortunately where we wanted to install the whole house fan there wasn't room, so we had to downgrade to a slightly smaller version, but Cody was able to install it quickly as he had it on his truck. We've had the system for a few weeks now and my observations are - the whole house fan is great, I set it for 4 - 8 hours at night and my house is cold when I wake up - and I don't need to run the A/C until it's 95 - 100 outside, and that's if I want to keep my house at 75 degrees. Before the attic fan, the ceiling in our house would get really hot. Now with the gable attic fan, the ceiling doesn't get hot and our A/C doesn't have to work very hard to maintain a low temperature. We were able to keep the house at 73 degrees inside while it was over 100 outside - before, the A/C would struggle to keep it below 80 degrees when it was that hot outside. The second stage didn't even need to kick in so we probably could have kept our house cooler. The only problem with the whole house fan is that it needs to be cool outside, and unfortunately during some of these heatwaves, the temperature doesn't drop until after midnight. Regardless, I would highly recommend these guys, their service was great, the product works and is relatively quiet, and my house is much cooler. One last note - I was told that the attic fan will keep the temperature in my attic to within 5-10 degrees of the outside air temp - this doesn't seem to be the case, but with the air moving up there now, it makes a huge difference. read more
