The view is very nice, make sure you get a window view. There are two tables for 6+ each that have the best view so ask for those in advance if you can. Staff was very friendly. This restaurant is located on the 10th floor of the Crown Plaza Hotel. After checking out Niagara Falls, my buddy and I decided to get breakfast here. A quick elevator ride got us here, and our room key got us our complementary meal. The view of the falls from here is amazing. It gives a good thorough view, and is a perfect complement to your meal. The food itself is delicious. I got standard breakfast fare (check pics). The food hit the spot, and I can tell the food was quality. The service was very friendly, as the waiters were very attentive to our needs. They chatted with us a bit about our travels, and we told them about life back in LA. Well we only ate at the rainbow room at last minute because we came back from boat ride of the falls ( absolutely a must). We only could eat buffet but the service was much better than Fallsview Buffet (Sheraton) the view was as nice as the fallsview ( we did get a windows seat) it was less expensive, and the food was much better than the falls view. Absolutely incredible restaurant! We arrived at 9pm and were worried we missed the dinner but they had extended hours until 10! The view over the falls at night is breathtaking! And arriving at 9pm the fireworks went off which made it that much more special!! All of our food was delicious! The main reason I wanted to leave a review was for the waitress Lindsey who worked Dec 23rd at night and was our server! My boyfriend proposed to me after our dinner and Lindsey was an amazing help getting everything perfect for him to pop the question and used my phone and took a million pictures! On a recent trip to Niagara Falls, my boyfriend and I visited chef Massimo Capra's Rainbow Room restaurant at the top of the Crowne Plaza hotel (we were guests of the hotel too). The experience was incredible, as we had a great view of Niagara Falls during sunset. The food was also quite amazing. Not the best ever, but quite impressive. Massimo Capra is certainly a culinary genius. And we were quite amused by all the videos of him (on the hotel room and lobby TVs) dancing and prancing as he prepared the foods in the commercials. We also got a $40 discount because we were hotel guests (note - they don't process the discount until you check out; you still have to pay full price during the meal). For our meal, we ordered: -Lobster Bruschetta for our appetizer (East coast lobster, heirloom cherry tomatoes and Buffalo mozzarella, basil seedlings). This was incredible! It tasted just as good as it sounds. -10 oz New York Strip Loin (Crispy fingerlings, heirloom vegetables, pancetta and king oyster mushroom "Cappucino"). We both got this and it was very delicious. I don't even like mushrooms and enjoyed the mushrooms in this entree. Very perfect sauce too! For drinks, I ordered the "Marilyn Monroe" (cocktail of sparkling wine, Calvados and a dash of their house-made grenadine). This was a perfect cocktail - very refreshing and delicious. Marilyn Monroe had stayed at the Crowne Plaza when filming the movie "Niagara," so this was her namesake. I also ordered a Bellini (classic Italian cocktail of sparkling wine and peach nectar), which was also very delicious. My boyfriend ordered more manly drinks, including the Churchill (blend of vodka, Cointreau, sweet vermouth and lime juice) and the Capra (blend of vodka, dry vermouth, juniper and mandarin juice). This restaurant is located on the 10th floor of the hotel. We were given a table right in front of the window, with perfect view of the falls. Amazing & Beautiful! And if you are there on a Friday, @ 9pm you also get to see the firework show. Service was good, so was the wine - a Cabernet Sauvignon, from Canada. They start with a huge warm bread basket, after taking your drink order. I usually don't eat a lot of the bread but this one was hard to resist. Food took a bit to come out, but with that view we were in no hurry. Only bad thing is that while waiting, they decided to take out all the restaurant's trash a couple of tables behind us. Granted, the restaurant wasn't full yet, but still there were people eating... My brother had the salmon, which I had a bite of, and was really good. Went for dinner at the Rainbow Room as we were staying at the hotel. Aside from the convenience, I was also looking forward to the view of the Falls based on pictures they have on their site. I have seen Massimo Capra on TV a few times. The man has big personality and I wanted to see how that would translate into his food. We were seated by a window with a nice view of the Falls. We were given some toasted chickpeas to munch on which wasn't too bad, but not the easiest to eat elegantly if you are on a date! Our cheerful waitress came by to greet us, offered us some water and to let us know the specials. Nice warm bread was brought to the table afterwards along with two different types of house made spreads. We settled on trying the Lobster Bruschetta to start. It was pretty light and refreshing tasting. I ordered the Lamb and my girlfriend ordered a duck dish which was one of their dinner specials for the night. Both dishes have very strong flavoured sauces which transferred to the sides but didn't necessarily to the flavouring of the proteins. The sauces were tasty, so it would have been nice if the meats soaked up some of it without having to lather it on ourselves. We were unfortunately both too full to try their desserts. This is an expensive dinner. I had the beef dinner. It was cooked very nice and really enjoyed the meat and vegetables. I did not like the way they did the potatoes. My wife had the lamb dinner. It was cooked properly but really lacked flavor. Again, she did not like the potato. My daughter had the chicken strip dinner off the kids menu. The chicken was dry. Most other restaurants include dessert for the children in the meal price but here it was an extra $8 for ice cream ( a rip off for a kids meal) bringing her meal total to $25 for a five year old. I came here for a conference this past week and dinner at the Rainbow Room was included. Atmosphere was nice--dim and overlooking the falls. Looked like the conference booked the whole venue that evening so I understand that service may not be optimal. So all in all, I'd give this place a 1.5 star just for some of the effort made by the wait staff. Service by wait staff in general was friendly but waiting for the food itself was ridiculously long. Each dish took 45 minutes to be served which was way too long. The quickest service was when they gave us our tea and coffee at the end. The food itself wasn't good. The spinach salad had too much balsamic vinegar that I had to cringe with each bite. As a main, I got the lobster tails with risotto and it tasted as if the chefs had forgotten to put salt on everything. I don't mean not enough salt, but NO salt at all! My colleague's risotto was undercooked and another colleague ordered the vegetarian mushroom risotto and it was completely bland as well. We needed to add a lot of salt to our food. We were quite disappointed at this restaurant and I definitely will not be returning. It's unfortunate that the name of Massimo Capra has been tainted now because of this restaurant. read more

Coming to the rainbow room located on the 10th Floor of the Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls, my husband and I were ecstatic to try what we had initially thought was a decent establishment. However, without question, the Rainbow Room was the single worst dining experience that I have ever had in a restaurant. Not only because the food is far under expectation as priced at $29.99 for a breakfast, but the service is also terrible! We went there around 10 am in the morning, the place was pretty empty, so the front desk lady told us that we could sit at any table we want, so we chose a table with the best falls view. After a couple of minutes, a manager-like man came and asked us to move to a different table, he said the table is for 4, and we need to sit at a two people table. Even though the place was almost empty, we moved. BUT, in about three minutes, he directed a couple to sit at the table with the best falls view which one we were asked to move away from! We asked him why the answer he gave was this couple came days before..... We paid the full price and came before them, we were asked to move and then he let the white couple sit there, just because of our skin color?! Come on, this is 2022!! What a SHIT!!! Naturally, we confronted management, questioning their reasoning, only to be given a complete bullshit excuse, saying that we were not a group of four, so we could not sit at the 4 tables despite the restaurant being empty? They literally replaced us with a white couple? We interrogated further, only to be treated as "hostile," with management essentially telling us to "go ahead and complain" because no one would ever believe us. I have never seen such an instance of disgusting service at a restaurant. Service as such should NOT EXIST in the 21st century. These sorts of transgressions SHOULD NOT EVER go unpunished. As a result, I beg anyone looking to eat at The Rainbow Room to reconsider visiting this restaurant. It's a disgrace of an establishment, and honestly is a stain on the greater Niagara Falls area. read more

Almost a 5 but my cannelloni entree was disappointing. Let me back up: good dining choices in the Clifton Hill area of Niagara Falls are limited; our dinner here was a good choice. The views are amazing - you can watch the lights changing on both the American and Horseshoe Falls while dining. We were not rushed at all and Lindsey, our server, was very friendly and attentive. We both had the Massimo special prix fixe choosing three selections over four at Lindsey's recommendation (I believe she said she would have to roll us out the door if we chose four!) Normally the bread is not worth mentioning but here it was delicious - crusty on the outside and soft in the middle; the only thing that would have made it better was if it was served warm. I started with the (vegetarian) French onion soup and it was delicious and satisfying and I was very surprised to find a French onion soup that was vegetarian. My husband started with the Caesar salad and liked it very much. As I mentioned earlier, I was disappointed in my cannelloni entree and should have ordered the eggplant. Fortunately for me, my husband shared his. The salted caramel creme brûlée was a very nice finish (and according to my husband, a better choice than his chocolate banana cake). We decided to skip appetizers and went straight into the meal. The table bread was warm and felt freshly baked, and i liked the spreads but wish they offered butter for those who didn't want it. I was torn between two and three stars. For an appetizer, we had the wild boar meatballs. They arrived in tandem with our house bread and hummus. The hummus was very over seasoned with chili powder. Paradoxically the meatballs were in desperate need of seasoning. Any seasoning. As dry as they were, I don't know that seasoning would have helped. For entrees we ordered the fettuccini Bolognese and chicken saltimbocca. The Bolognese was sooooo bland. There was no taste at all. I've had little cans of pasta that I've heated up with more flavor. The Saltimboxa was much better than the Bolognese. Whatever and however the Marc's mushrooms are made.... Incredible. My chicken was moist but it too was bland. The bed of bell peppers, zucchini and quinoa was cheap and ruined the flavor of the meal even more. None of the food on the plate went together. $44. I ordered the Special of the Day, which was roasted boar in a ju, with scallops and pickled vegetables. I didn't think the scallops were bad, but they weren't fresh, and they were overcooked. They also didn't pair well, since the pork was very sweet, the pickles were sweet, and the flavors didn't harmonize, just mush together. Overall, not terrible, but for the price, it was a rip-off. $40. The only real edible thing was their bread, a focaccia which had a firm crust and a fluffy interior... which they paired with a roster pepper spread and an eggplant spread. These sucked and also paired terribly on the bread. They may have been better paired with a flat toasted bread or cracker. My girlfriend ordered balsamic and vinegar to dip the bread in, which was genius, because they use an aged balsamic reduction that was very good. Free! We also weren't getting any water refills. Please don't go here, it's a tourist trap, especially for the price. The place has a nice view of the falls. It also claims that lots of famous people have eaten here. Well, let me be the first to suggest that you can have a nice view of the falls in a lot of places, and say that the famous people either came many years ago, or by accident. My party arrived while it was still light outside. This gave us a great view of the falls, but also of the filthy restaurant. The windows were dirty, and all around the window sills and frames were months worth of food and drink splatters. There was also thick layers of dust on most ledges. The menus arrived inside a nice folder. All menus had multiple tears, wrinkled pages, and greasy fingerprints and food stains. We should have left by this point, but did not. I had a whiskey sour that tasted like a mix of Pledge and lemon-lime Gatorade, then waited for the food. Without creating an extremely long narrative, here is what you need to know.... 1. The food is banquet food. They served the same soggy, poorly prepared sides with the lamb as the steak. I had the same steak on a Carnival Cruise once. You might like it if you don't get out much. 2. The place is expensive as it is, but robbery for the quality. A half-chicken a la carte was 36$. An eight ounce steak was 42$. Appetizers ranged from 10-18$$. 3. Guests staying at the Crown Plaza (I guess that crown goes on the head of the King of Buffalo, but I digress.) receive a 40$ off meal voucher for this restaurant as "bait", provided that 2 entrees and appetizers are purchased. Well, my meal for two was 120$ with two drinks, to entrees, and the two cheapest appetizers after the coupon. No wine, no dessert. 4. You would most likely have more fun, a better meal, the same level of service, and feel less ripped off eating at the Hard Rock or some other nearby chain. read more

Made a reservation on a Sunday evening and requested seating by the window overlooking the falls. The staff accommodated that request and was so helpful on the menu. Given the New Years occasion, we ordered off of a prix fixed 4-course menu for the evening. All of the food was excellent, a pleasant surprise for a town drowning in tourist traps and fast food. I ordered the parmigiano regiano mousse, white truffle risotto, braised short ribs, and cheesecake trio. I absolutely loved everything I had. Everything is simple but classy and done well. If I had one criticism, it would be that the risotto was perhaps a bit undercooked, but the flavor from the truffle and mushrooms was wonderful. The short ribs were so tender and luscious. Started out with the Mushroom Bisque (ordered by my lady) and I couldn't get enough. She had Linguini Carbonara and she thought it was great. I went with the Scallops and they were positively the best or second best scallops I've had in my life. We escaped with a $90 dinner for $50. The Rainbow Room is the classic Niagara Falls restaurant in the oldest existing hotel in town. It offers a sweeping view of the American and Horseshoe Falls, which may not be as close as some of the newer hotels, but it's great to see all the lights on the Niagara Parkway and the skywheel in the same view. Given the age of the restaurant, it's not exceptionally large, and it's certainly not the fanciest place in town, but it still has a certain elegance. There is an extensive wine list, cocktails and beer by the bottle. I had the egg smuggler, which is their whiskey sour. It didn't blow me away. For an app, I had the cured meat plate, and this was a standout with generous portions of four different meats. For the main I had the fettuccine bolognese with veal, beef and sausage. Their was nothing exceptional about the flavours or preparation, but it was a decent meal. The service was friendly and helpful but slow. It was a holiday, so I let that pass. Came here for my birthday dinner (ok, it was my pre-birthday dinner), it was a little odd at first because some diners looked completely out of place in street clothes and infants, I mean this is a nice place, oh well... The amuse bouche wasn't anything special, it definitely didn't amuse MY bouche, but it was ok, it was a spoonful of pasta salad. The foccacia bread came out with hummus, it was weird because it wasn't the normal oil & vinegar that accompanies foccacia bread or the pita chips that would accompanies hummus. We ordered a meat & cheese plate and it was good, standard meats and cheese that you can find at a specialty deli. Bf got the lobster ravs, I'm not a big fan of lobster ravs but these were really rich and tasted like truffle, super yum! I got the salmon, it was also yummy, not the absolute best but good. We also ordered a bottle of wine and I had a cocktail so by the time the entrees came out, I wasn't too terribly hungry. Our waiter also insisted on me getting a dessert for my birthday! :-D I wasn't feeling the atmosphere in the beginning but this place ended up being way better than Napoli, where we went on my actual birthday and I almost cried because it was such a crap experience/dinner.
