Overall very fun night to meet up and just enjoy some singing along with friends.

I started with a See You At Dusk, which was a combo of Melleti, souchu, balasmic, ginger and walnut. I found it to be a very flavorful drink that paired well with the board. I next tried a Bywater which was rum, falernum, genepy and Averna. It was a very deep and rich cocktail which I also enjoyed. We came about 3 hours prior to closing and this was more than enough time for us to fully enjoy the place and see everything. They do have a bar out front to the side before you enter as well and a gift shop. I have attended their other location in Las Vegas, so it was fun to compare it to this location and see how different they are all around. This location definitely is smaller in size and very different in theme, but still cool to see.

We got a bottle of red wine started and some margaritas along with a manhattan. Then afterwards couple of fish tacos and some carne asada arrived. We had great drinks and tasty food. Everything is delicious and so much great fun vibes. A definite memorable birthday to remember at this small but fantastic bar. Here's to coming back to the Dragon Room bar sooner.

I've spent enough time in bars to know when someone is good at their job. Katya operates on an entirely different level. She can take what feels like sixteen orders at once, remember every single one, deliver them with absolute precision, keep the entire room moving, somehow do the math in her head, and still make every customer feel like they're the only person sitting at the bar. The basement bar itself is exactly what a great dive should be; a shithole. Heavy hobo stab vibes upon entry, including Katya. Smell: multiple buttholes farting at once. Climate control: sweaty patron dependent. Lighting: liability. TV: playing a rotation of trash 80s DVDs . If business schools were smart, they'd study her. If hospitality groups were smart, they'd clone her. If Santa Fe has any sense at all, they'll do whatever it takes to keep her exactly where she is. Cash only, so come prepared. We were warmly greeted and we're happy. It was on the quiet side since they weren't busy yet. By the time we left, it was busy! We really enjoyed our server, Paris. He was warm and seemed to take a general interest in us. I shared my concerns with him that my pallet doesn't tolerate much spicy. He at all. He assured me there would be no problem in accommodating that. He started us off with a complementary prickly pear & lemonade drink which we loved! He also provided a complementary appetizer which was very unique and made out of avocado and mascarpone and some other items I don't remember. Why I didn't love it, I did enjoy hasting something so unique and different. We started with the best cornbread I've ever had that shaped like a cob of corn with three different kinds of butters. The cornbread is $12 and worth it! Next came the Caesar salad wrapped in some kind of egg roll wrapper and topped with an anchovy mixture. We split it so we each got two rolls which was plenty. We very much enjoyed the flavors in the salad. Don ordered the Wagyu short rib with polenta. While we don't love polenta, this was tasty and complemented the beef nicely. Don said this was the best short rib he ever had. I wish I had a picture of how they presented it. When they took the lid off, there was a lovely steam cloud and it smelled wonderful. I had scallops with each one placed beautifully on top of of really interesting wild rice and finished with toasted coconut. The pineapple salsa and the Hoja Santa Fe Oil were placed in small rounds in the middle of the dish because they had some kick to them. What was especially impressive, is the gentleman who brought out my meal leaned over and said that the Chef wanted to let me know that the two items in the small dishes had heat to them, but I was encouraged to give them a try for the full flavor. Impressive! I was able to enjoy the pineapple salsa, but the oil was a little too spicy for me, but I'm glad I tried it. We would've loved to try dessert, but we were fully satiated by our delicious meal. It was quite an experience and we look forward to returning.

We also loved the chicken thigh skewers, which were flavorful and tender without being fatty, served with a beautiful yogurt smudge on the plate. The grilled eggplant with capers and manchego was another favorite, and the jamón croquettes were crisp, savory perfection. Creative food, thoughtful service, and a warm Santa Fe atmosphere. La Boca is the kind of place you leave already thinking about what you'll order next time.

There was some really gross stuff sticking to the wall next to the toilet; I couldn't tell if it was barf or poop, but it really turned me off. Good thing we were already on our way out. The atmosphere is kind of a New Orleans vibe with a high ceiling and covered terrace upstairs with plants that you can see from the downstairs area. That was nice. The day before when I was walking around the Plaza, they had a big carafe of fruit-infused ice water outside the restaurant with plastic cups for people to help themselves to, and it was super refreshing. we were really looking forward to our first visit to the ranch house (avid fans of josh's) ----- what a disappointment! you drive up to what looks like a tract home in santa fe, upon entering you really feel like you are in model in a tract home development. drab decorations, no color.....no wow factor! does not feel like a bbq restaurant, but more like any other new restaurant that did not hire an interior designer. blah! you walk into an industrial lit dining room that feels really closed in....surprising, there are no view windows....to enjoy the santa fe skyline.....big mistake by the architect. we were seated in one of the booths, no table decorations....no bbq sauce, no condiments, just matching pottery style salt, pepper and sugar holder. looked over the menu, so different from the original josh's......we were greeted by our server who looked like all the others, all dressed in uniform. we ordered the pulled pork sandwich with their original green chile cole slaw and the brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries......food was delivered promptly.....everything looked small on the over sized white plates.....both sandwiches were awful, very dry .....no sauce! we asked for bbq sauce and received a squeeze bottle of only one sauce, what happened to all the wonderful sauces we used to get from josh's? squeeze bottle didn't seem to go with their new updated decor with matching condiment containers...a pulled pork sandwich should have the sauce mixed in with the meat! and it wasn't pulled, it was chunks! anyway, skimpy servings for a $10 sandwich. what a disappointment! if you were a fan of josh's, you will miss the old place....looks like the whole hog cafe will be our number one choice! not the ranch house. read more

Used to be a solid choice, the last couple times I've been in, the food has left me with less certainty when I choose to go there. The kitchen seems to have less oversight and quality control, what is being sent out is not what was coming out before. Sad, because this is dragging down a normally great spot. About a month or two ago I pop in for lunch, passing by. Order the nacho plate, usually good. After a seemingly long time in an empty bar and restaurant at that the plate arrives. Stone cold. Like cheese not melted, huge chunks of cheese inside it fridge temp. I kindly point this out to the bartender and he says he'll take care of it. Takes it back, has them heat it up. No big deal right? Just frustrating when you're in a dead restaurant, you'd think they'd have the time to look over this stuff. All in all, it was about an hour and 15 minutes for a plate of nachos. Yet I returned again this week. I tried the BBQ quesadilla. I'm personally not a fan of it, it was cooked, and the brisket had great flavor, just didn't enjoy the sauce they threw on it. Hey, my bad it said that one the menu. What I did notice was that I had a jalapeño crudely cut into about 4 large chunks on my plate. Just looking at it you can tell it was cut quickly, with little regard to taste or flavor. This just brings me back to that oversight in the kitchen. My friend's salad had several chunks of slimey greens that she had to pick out and left in a ring on her plate. I will say this about the service, it has always been excellent. The daytime bartenders are always attentive, friendly and that is reassuring to know I'll get good service when I go in there, but if they don't get some of these kitchen issues ironed out, it won't work for me. read more

I'm incredibly disappointed with my recent experience at The Ranch House. We ordered take-out, and it was a disaster yet again. The salad came without dressing, and I ordered queso and chips, but no queso was included. To make matters worse, the $8.50 chips portion barely filled a clam shell container. For nearly $60, the quality and quantity of the food were absolutely not worth the price. This is the third time in as many months that a carry-out order has been messed up. On top of that, the curbside service is abysmal--slow and unreliable. To add insult to injury, when I called to complain, the phone went straight to an answering machine. The Ranch House has repeatedly failed to deliver even the basics of good service, and after this latest disappointment, they've officially lost our business. I had such a great experience here that I'm still thinking about it. The food was absolutely incredible -- every dish was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The atmosphere was perfect too: warm, welcoming, and the kind of place you actually want to linger in. Our server Peggy was phenomenal. Attentive without hovering, genuinely friendly, and made the whole meal feel effortless. It's rare to find a place that nails everything at once, but they really did. I'm tired of poor service in Santa Fe. Let me start by saying the servers we had were great. It's the host. Young, handsome, and apparently entitled. We were the only two people at the host stand. This young man never greeted us. After a couple of minutes, he looked up and said "2?", "follow me." That's was it . As a former small business owner, I made sure my employees greeted everyone who walked through the door. "Thank you" and "Have a good day"once the business is complete. Basic customer service. Our experience at The Ranch House was disappointing. Despite being of legal drinking age, I was refused alcohol service due to having a vertical ID from California. Rather than resolving the issue professionally, they seemed incapable of doing the math correctly. The lack of basic customer service and accountability was frustrating. I expected a more competent approach to handling guests, especially visitors from out of town. Would not recommend for those looking for a hassle-free dining experience. read more

The thing is that the food is good. I'd even go as far as to say its really good. I used to really enjoy coming here and bellying up to the bar but not anymore. The service at the bar has really suffered. I feel bad for the bar tenders because they are responsible for making every drink for the whole restaurant so they are pretty overwhelmed and understaffed. I would think they should put an additional person behind the bar so that it doesn't take 45 minutes to order a beer. I'm just saying. read more

Being a recent CA transplant, we were wary of the "next new thing" but the prime rib Reuben sandwich was possibly the best sandwich of my lifetime. Tender beef, perfectly dressed & fantastic homemade potato chips. Partner had the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries and it, too, exceeded our expectations. Salad fresh and loaded with lots of goodies. Decor very relaxed and comfortable and wait staff extremely helpful. Hope all stays the same. Will be our new fave in Santa Fe. read more

It might be better to eat your food right there in the restaurant because the take out version was horrible. The tortilla on the burrito was like eating paste. The squash puree had to be at least 2-3 days old. The texture was just old and stale. It didn't taste fresh. Maybe we just caught you on a bad day but the food was terrible. The foil that the brisket was in was just leaking with an abundance of grease. It was bad enough for me to actually write a review. Rethink the take out peeps. read more

I am totally pleased with The Ranch House. They are willing to work with my food allergies and catered a party at my home with great success. They are willing to discuss your needs, whatever they may be and come up with a solution for you. This is a top notch place, nice to have on the south side of town. I'd seen this restaurant a few times and had wanted to try it, but it just looked too expensive for me. I finally broke down this week and tried it out. Inside it was beautiful and rustic and surprisingly the prices were actually very reasonable. Best of all the food was absolutely incredible! Ok I have given this place a second try and I'm just not impressed. The service is lacking. I don't like to feel like I am inconveniencing you to wait on me. I was impressed with the food the first go round. Green chile brisket sandwich the first time. I had the brisket my second go and it was dry. We are from Texas and we eat salmon all the time but not it's bbq all over it. Horrible place to eat , not worth the money. If you go read the menu carefully it's weird what they mix together. We were in town on vacation for three nights and ate here two nights in a row because it's such delicious food! We loved our brisket, pulled pork and ribs; the apple goat cheese salad is amazing and the prickly pear mojito was the crowning delight.
