We had a big lunch at Hard 8 so we wanted an appetizers and top-notch bourbon cocktails dinner and this was perfect for that.  We had the venison chili, fries, Mac and cheese, asparagus and carrots along with two old fashioned. She got the signature old fashioned and I got the rye; both were phenomenal. We'll definitely be back for steaks sometime. read more

When visiting Dallas, my in-laws wanted to celebrate their wedding anniversary with steak so my sister-in-law and her husband recommended The Ranch. I'm so glad they did because we had a wonderful time here. We were a party of 15 with 6 kids under 8 and yet they still were able to seat us at a table and take wonderful care of us. They even gave great service to all the kids. I appreciate that they took the time to make them feel welcome & part of the experience. The interior of the restaurant is wonderful. It's dark, but not too dark. Just enough to give it a nice mood. There's also huge vaulted ceilings which really helps keep conversations from other guests from bouncing around and making the place overly loud. You just get the sense that they put plenty of time in to interior design as they did the food. Speaking of which, all of the food we had was wonderful. Portion sizes were MASSIVE. I tried the pork chop and it could easily have been 2-3 meals. All of the steaks that everyone got were similar. Everything was seasoned properly, cooked to perfection, and were delicious from the first bite to the last. I will say, however, that we all felt like the appetizers were slightly over salted. Not to the point that it ruined the dishes, but it could have been toned down a bit. The one thing that is really keeping me from giving this place a 5 star review is that 2 of the children (one who just turned 1 and the other who was 3) ordered the grilled chicken off the kids menu. However, the chefs accidentally put blackened seasoning on both of them so that when the kids bit in to it, the understandably freaked out because it was too spicy for them. The restaurant did make good and got us new dishes for them, but by the time they were able to do that, we had given the kids sides such as French fries and fruit to the point where they weren't hungry anymore and it was late so they were tired & ready for bed. Really wish that mistake hadn't happened on both dishes. We could have just not ordered 2 plates because they both just went right home to my sister-in-law since she was the only local who'd be able to eat the chicken at some point. With all that said, we had a wonderful meal at The Ranch. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The food (other than mentioned above) was plentiful and tasty. The drinks were great, and the whole experience was just one for the books. I highly recommend The Ranch. read more

Worst bar service I've ever received. Came here in January and liked it, so I was looking forward to coming back and spending some time. Came on a busy Tuesday night but was able to get a seat at the main bar, no problem. I sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. As I watched, what I assume to be "my side of the bar" bartender help every single man around me first. Even those who came after. When he finally decided he would help me, he grabbed a menu, put it down in front of me, and without a word, walked away. No greeting, no info. Nothing. He came back for my drink order and again said nothing. Just looked at me. I order wine. He walked away. After getting my wine and deciding on my meal. I again waited and waited and waited. Everyone who had come before me now had food. Now mind you, I am sitting smack dab in the middle of this bar. Not hard to see. When he finally came back to take my food order he stood there and stared at me again. I gave him my order, AND HE WALKED AWAY. No words, nothing! Food came and was brought by a runner. It was fast, and it was good. Thankfully because no one came to check on me to see if I needed anything. I finished and pushed my plates away. And waited and waited and waited. Almost 20 minutes later the bar-back asked if he could take them. Look, I get being busy. But avoiding or ignoring or flat out not speaking to a customer is unacceptable. I bet a dollar that they tip-pool and he knows he gets paid regardless. Shame. Cool place, really good food. Came for Happy Hour and it didn't disappoint. Even though it was really busy the service was spot on and food came out pretty quick. I tried the sliders and Wow they were great and full of flavor. I came here on Saturday for a brunch. The waitress was amazing! I forget her name unfortunately but she was a younger African American Woman who told us she too used to work in hotels. My boyfriend and I are both General Managers of Hotels so it was nice to chat with a fellow hotelier. The food was amazing! The mimosa flight was great! The bottle of champagne was really good. I would go out and even buy it at the store. The ambiance was awesome. Very clean and pleasant. A ton of parking, good lighting coming in from the windows. Well this was a happening popular spot on a Thursday night! I couldn't believe it was packed - this is a really big place. They had live music on one side. We had to wait 45 mins for table but it went really quick since we went to bar to grab some drinks and they sat us down quickly after. I think my food was a little cold but I think maybe they were waiting for all the food to come out same time it was still good but I like my food hot don't kill me. We had a fantastic lunch at The Ranch! It was the perfect halfway point to meet a friend. The Texas decor, open fire ovens, and fireplaces created a great ambiance. I tried the Thursday special, a Prime Rib Sandwich with Tallow fries, it was a huge portion I was unable to finish. My wife raved about her spicy tortilla soup (and she's picky about soup!), while our friend enjoyed the prime rib sandwich too. First time dining here! But truly enjoyed this rustic place. The restaurant looks so cool as you really do feel like you are at a ranch! We had the ribeye and the texas redfish. Along with asparagus. Delicious! Steak was perfectly cooked. And the Texas redfish with the garlic butter was really really amazing. It was done just right. The fried green tomatoes in my opinion was the highlight because it was so deliciously put together with the right sauce and the right amount of bacon on top. We came here for dinner with some friends who were also out of town like us. The place is in a shopping center at the very end of the center. The ambiance is very homelike and comfy. Service was excellent and although there wasn't much vegetarian options I was able to get the farmhouse bowl which was very delicious.y kid had the stroganoff and she enjoyed it very much. Initially we were sat in what looks like an indoor patio/bar area but it was freezing in there sitting directly in the path of a large fan . They kindly moved inside with no fuss!
