I've been to the place a few times and food is very consistent. The restaurant was relocated 7 years ago due to its the demand to keep up with clientele. The staff is quick to take your order with prompt food delivery. If your in the mood for some authentic Mexican food for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This is the place if your close by as Houston and the surrounding area are filled with great Mexican food restaurants. My only thing is that they need to do something better with their hot sauce. This was my first time at the Ranchito. Gotta say it was a very interesting experience. The food was prepared with so much care. I ordered to go, not one item on the plate spilled over and touched the other. It was so neat. For Mexican food, that's not something I'm used to. I was very, very impressed at the amount of care they put into making the plate. Even though I always mix all my food up together. Lol I LIKE IT LIKE THAT. Being able to do it myself gave me so much joy. I had the chicken fajita Guadalajara plate, and it was delicious! Sizzled fajita meat married with grilled onions, and all the fixings, NEATLY on the side. They even throw in tortillas. The plate was even enough to share. My brother was especially excited about that. He was able to bum a chicken fajita from me, and I didn't mind because there was plenty to go around. I wish I would have taken the picture before I started mixing and flipping, but it smelled so good I dove straight in! read more

My coworker invited to lunch and we went to this Mexican Restaurant. We ordered the food in advanced since we only have 1/2 hr lunches. When we got there the place was very busy. We found a table and the waitress brought us our food. The food was actually pretty good. I ordered chicken quesadillas and they were pretty delicious. My coworker swears by their beef soup. Prices are less than $10 per dish. I have to admit that Mexican food is growing on me and this restaurant definitely has my vote. read more

Delicious Mexican breakfast. I ordered a combo meal that comes with chorizo and egg, retried beans, potatoes and a choice of meat. You can get marinated pork or barbacoa but today I got the chopped fajita. The flavor of that fajita meat is so good. And the chorizo & egg is delicious, not greasy like some chorizos. Pile all of that in a flour tortilla with some salsa and it's literally the perfect bite. The service is great, very attentive and the food came out super quick. I have ordered many time off of the menu to only ask for a box to carry the rest home because I was to full to finish my plate. I ordered a juice and realized it was Minute Maid, Most Mexican restaurants serve Juice freshly squeezed. The salsa was not of my taste it had oregano who puts oregano in Mexican salsa? My breakfast plate was migas and the eggs had an over cooked smell our waitress only came to check on us once. & the tortillas are not freshly made and were hard.... I think this is the best taqueria restaurant I have ever been to. Lots to choose from and the portions are very generous. I've had the enchiladas, el pastor, and this chicken dish with cheese. This restaurant has been around a long time in my neighborhood - today I ordered a plate to go from the manager. I didn't know what to get since I didn't have a menu, so I asked him if he had a dinner that came with a tostada. rice and beans and something else. I had the best tostada ever - should be famous for their food. I have eaten a lot of tostadas in my life, but this one was epic - I am not kidding - was a beef fajita one with everything. One of the best, if not the best, in a town where there's great Taquerias and authentic Mexican restaurants on practically every block! This place is really good! Anything you order, is good and if you go before 11:30am you can get their breakfast special for $2.99!! The prices are very good for a big plate of authentic Mexican food! One time we did have a little problem with our to go order and I didn't notice until the next morning. I called them and the manager was very nice and professional about it, he remembered our order and assessed the problem correctly! We got our money back and it was all okay. Despite that one mistake, they still deserve 5 stars because we all make mistakes, the way they reacted to it and their action to fix the problem was beyond 5 stars! I Totally recommend this place! I love The Ranchito! The atmosphere is pretty simple, with booths and tables available in a typical Taquería fashion. Nothing fancy here! But expect an above average sound level, because this place is almost always busy! Wait staff is always prompt and friendly! I'd say that their best deal is definitely their breakfast menu, since it has dishes from 2.99+ with more than enough food to fill you up! The prices change and 11 I think, but make a point to check it out! They are also one of the few places I know that have Big Red on tap. :) Mmm Mmm Good! read more
