I had their open face burger but can't remember the name. I typically get the same thing here, however decided to be adventurous. I ordered medium (usually order MR but since I've never had a burger here, I decided to play it safe), but after it was served, I thought I should've ordered a medium rare. It was cooked more medium well too well which is way overcooked in my opinion. The fries here are usually so yummy, fresh, crisp, but it is, they weren't. Because I'm not a big fan of french fries, it really wasn't that big of deal that I felt like I had to send them back, I only ate a few anyways. The few I normally eat I like to be a certain way. My favorite item there is the iced tea. It's always so flipping good! I also ate the fried green chili strips, which were amazing! And they are served with the ranch, which is house made. I could literally eat this dressing like soup - lol! I didn't eat the bourbon bread pudding this time, but when I do, it is the most delicious dessert! The service was good, and the dining room is hilariously decorated in a good way. My recommendations: the Eggs Benedict, fried green chile strips, the chicken, fried steak (I don't know how the gravy is, I don't eat it), and all the desserts, especially the bourbon bread pudding. read more

Not busy, staff is great and I ordered my usual Huevos Rancheros, which I feel is their best dish. It came out cold. Eggs were raw. My husband and I come here regularly. The last 3 visits we noticed the service dramatically changed for the worse. We came in last Thursday for dinner sat at the bar for at least 10 minutes and no one acknowledged us. It was only when we got up to leave did someone ask us if we wanted anything, at that point I was irritated and said no thanks and we left. I'm very doubtful that we will return. The thing that bothered me the most is it wasn't busy and if you at least acknowledge someone they are more patient than if you just look past them like they aren't even there that's the issue. read more

Just had Eggs Benedict there, the eggs were hard and overcooked, the potatoes were undercooked. I'm not sure you could even call the sauce Hollandaise, it was white,bland and had no flavor at all. It's got nice decor but stay away from the Eggs Benedict. read more

I ordered the Range Tacos. It comes with three tacos. White corn tortillas,spicy slaw, Cotija cheese, Anco Chile creams, served with Arroz Verde, black beans, and Salsa Verde. I have eaten here many times. Great food. Be ready for a wait. Today was the first time doing a to go order. 45minutes and food was still not ready. Noticed a family that had been sat down to eat was eating and clearly my order had been placed first. Another who walked in during my 45min wait also eating. Their deep fried Chile's are so delicious and never disappoint. I have tried several dishes and have enjoyed ever single one. Came to try out what the hype is about. I accidentally came to this location because I didn't know there were two. The place was packed due to the time I arrived 12pm Saturday and surprisingly I didn't have to wait too long, roughly 15min. The service was friendly, and a little disorganized. I had to waiters try to take my drink order. It seems they didn't know who was serving my table. Granted they've only been open for a month. My waiter also apologized and said the food would be coming out a little slow and he was right. I waited about 20minutes for my food. I ordered Matts special (tamale), a mocha latte, a pancake, side of sausage and range fries. I was disappointed at my tamale. It was small, overcooked, flavorless, and covered in a glob of cheese. The tamale had a tough/hard exterior and the cheese over powered the tamale. Part of matts special was pinto beans covered in cheese. Some of the beans were good and some were overcooked and gave a burnt aftertaste. Range fries were good, they're like small potato wedges. Sausage had a good pepper flavor, but no bite from skin or snap. Pancake was cooked beautifully. Had a nice crust and was fluffy! Mocha latte was okay a little too sweet for my taste. Overall would not order the Matt special again and might come back to try other items when they're more organized. read more

I tried to get the no star option but it wouldn't let me. Upon entering the white couple in front of us were greeted promptly and cheerfully and seated. When we stepped up the hostess asked us if we "wanted a table". So after waiting 30 minutes for a table we were seated and waited another 30 minutes for our food. We just left. They also offer a full bar so is a great place for a happy hour! I like the location off Rio Grande because I think it has the best ambiance and feel than their other locations. We started off with the nachos. Perfect for sharing because there was a mountain of them. I had the spinach enchiladas for my main. My husband had the Range chicken which was topped with cheese, green chile strips and avocado. I liked the twist on this place with the green chile cream and corn sauce. I really hate complaining, but today I had placed an order for the BLT sandwich on their online portal. There was only one selection, and that is to pick your side. I picked fries, then when I got my order, my sandwich only had the mayo and bacon. I called back to ask about it and the lady on the phone said I had ordered it without the lettuce, onion, pickle and tomato. I checked my email and it does say that but I had no option to remove those ingredients. We drive through Albuquerque twice a year in December, on our way to or home from Scottsdale. Have been trying to stop at The Range in the past, on our daughter's recommendation, but they were too busy. This year we were coming through about 2:30 and it was a slow time, so we got in. So glad we kept trying. Service and food were wonderful. My wife had blue corn chili rellenos and said they were the best she had ever had. I had country fried steak with mashed potatoes and cream gravy, that I would give a 8 out of 10. They also have their own bakery there, I had key lime pie for desert, which was excellent. My wife had banana pudding, home made, she said it was so good she wanted to cry. We also stopped again on the way home and this time I tried the meatloaf, which was OK, but didn't knock my socks off. Our daughter worked in Albuquerque for a few months and would often eat here or get Door Dash from there, and she loved it. Highly recommended. read more

Took the family out for dinner. This place is decorated really cute inside. My kids loved it. Had the elite appetizer, it was really tasty and cheesy. Kids portions are a good size, not too big. I ordered cobb Salad which is served in a very generous portion. I also ordered a "cup" of their green Chile stew. Much larger than a cup. That could have been my meal. Cute place, has potential. The banana pudding is one of the only good thing about this place. We arrived at 6:20, and didn't get our food until 7:30. They could be short staffed, and we didn't have a bad server, but the quality of the service is just not up to par. The Range should not have a one star, it should be a place constantly with 3 or 4 or 5 stars, however........ I ordered The Eggs Benedict which were good when they finally came out. The first dish I was served was not eggs benedict. When i mentioned it to the waitress her reply was ": well I wrote it down correctly" My son's breakfast was terrible. 2 sunnyside up eggs and bacon should not come out dry and burnt. He did not eat the eggs and has most of the bacon. By the time the waitress got to our table we couldn't wait to leave. When it was mentioned she wanted to know if he wanted desert; well that makes sense since he did not have his meal. Now our goal was to pay and get out of there. I greedily ordered both the pecan sticky bun and a carne adovada breakfast burrito and both redeemed my faith in finding good food in Albuquerque. I'm marooned in Old Town for the week and thank God I found this modern oasis. Returned the next morning for another pecan roll.
