First visit impression was not impressed. I ordered the chicken chimichanga with green chile. No seasoning on chicken and the green chile had barely any heat. That being said, we called this morning and we're lies to about seating and after having 3 parties meet us here we're told very rudely by the hostess that clearly had an attitude that they could not accommodate us even though we had confirmed before we came. The impossible burger is not done any favors by having swiss cheese on it by default -- it needs a creamier cheese to offset its dryness. The truffle fries were good. Cool decor. Ordered nachos for an appetizer, took 30 mins. They were ok. We were very hungry so we ate them. Ordered mini mac and chicken tacos for our entrees. Took another 30 mins. The mini mac was gross. It was noodles with melted cheese on it. There was noodle water the bottom of the bowl. The chicken tacos were very bland. Got the excuse that there was a big top that made the wait what it was, only saw 2 7 top tables and very few other tables inside and outside of the restaurant. I've been eating at the range in bernalillo since I was a little kid. Every location has always been outstanding until this one. The first time I went here I had a call in order. The woman told me to come at 10 am which like 40 or so minutes after I ordered. I showed up around 10.05 and waited almost 45 mins to actually get my order which was not even started. Things were missing like sides and small stuff. The staff wasn't extremely nice about it either. Other people around me were also noticeably angry about the overall experience. Today we ordered online and our huevos rancheros were missing corn tortillas and my wife's side tortilla was missing + a few other things that normally come on the dish. This location is rough and the service is seriously in need of an overhaul. I have worked in restaurant and bar management for years and this is truly one of the most badly run restaurants which sucks because the range is our favorite. I just want management or someone to fix this issue so this place can succeed read more

I came here for breakfast on a Friday morning and it wasn't too crowded! Mainly the hospital crowd of nurses! Staff was very friendly! I ordered the blue corn pancake with extra fruit!! Wow oh wow!! We decided to stop here randomly as a pit stop of our trip. Our waitress talked to us maybe 4 times the whole time, and when I asked about getting more water, she never came back with more. It wasn't until after everyone was done eating their meals that our table got refills. She seemed to not care about our table. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and it wasn't terrible. There was too much eggs tho. I basically got an egg tortilla with a little bit of sausage. The eggs were cooked great, but there was just way to much. I would maybe come back and order something else, but the wait staff definitely makes me not want to. read more

Love this place! Staff is always friendly and efficient and although I miss the dining experience, I will keep doing the take out until this damn virus is under control! So happy that they are staying open so I can get my Range fix. Just to mention a few of my favorites, try to meat loaf. Looks like filet mignon and almost tastes like it. Country fried steak and eggs is awesome mostly because of the green chile gravy. Can't go wrong with blue corn enchiladas or blue corn pancakes! First time in town and stopped by for happy hour with my wife. Service was good and the menu had a good selection. Had the $3 tacos for happy hour and paired it with a $5 margarita. Our experience here was less than acceptable we've eaten here twice and the second time sealed the deal we will not be returning.. we waited about half an hour just to order appetizers and drinks we waited another half hour just to receive the appetizers and drinks and the hot cheese dip came cold we sent it back and it came out the same time our entrées did.. the Mojito's had very little liquor not worth ordering and the country fried steak was horrible!!! The steak was completely disconnected from the batter and was way to salty the entire experience was really bad! if you do decide to eat here keep your order short and simple because anything too difficult will overwhelm the staff and it will not be enjoyable for you or the waiters! When I ask to speak to a manager they sent out what looked like a teenage boy who honestly didn't fix anything I am really upset about the entire experience and honestly I want my money back neither me or my husband will ever return read more

I ate here yesterday, July 29. What an incredibly excellent meal. I started with a green chile margarita. Perfection!! The green chile gave it a little afterburn. Then we had chips with the 3 dips. All were delicious but my fav was the guacamole. Very fresh. Then the blue corn enchiladas with carne adovada, delicious chunks of slow simmered pork. With both the red and green chile sauces. Best New Mexican enchiladas I've ever had!! The service was impeccable. No room for dessert, although they look fabulous. I wish I could take this restaurant back to Palm Springs with me. Range cafe has been my fiancée and I's comfort spot during my travel assignment here in ABQ. We haven't had a bad meal here and they know how to make a proper cocktail. While the food is superb, there's an individual working here that honestly should be running the place! Derrick welcomed us with open arms from the first time we strolled in and treated us like regulars every time after. No matter how busy it was, he always made us feel like his favorite customers. We've never saw him without a smile on his face and he always took the time to catch up with us and see how our stay in town had been so far. Range cafe on central Ave has been a highlight of our stay and Derrick is one of the best people we've met in ABQ. read more

A group of ten of us traveling through off the Amtrak stopped into this cafe to grab some food. We only had 30 minutes to order and get our food before we needed to make it back to the train. The hostess was very accommodating to our needs. The staff was able to prepare our food in a very timely manner. I got the kids burrito and it was superb! Everything from the homemade tortilla to the green chili sauce and potato wedges were amazing and very satisfying. Would highly recommend. read more

What a find!! The beef enchiladas had chunks of beef, not some ground mystery meat. The green sauce was full of flavor The blue corn tortillas added a good change and flavor. You can substitute grilled vegetables for rice which is a welcome change if you want to eliminate a few carbs. Wish this was in my town in Florida. read more

Every time I come to ABQ I hit one of The Range locations for Huevos Rancheros. So good, perfectly cooked every time. Spinach enchiladas are excellent. Such a shame. We were just here on Monday and had an amazing experience. The food was great and so was the service. We've been several times and it's always been great. We came in today to celebrate my promotion. I made a 9:15 reservation. We got there at 9:06. We got seated early which was awesome. We sat until 9:22 before the server came to our table for our drinks. At this point we were ready to order. 9:45 and our order still wasn't ready. A few people that were seated after us were already finished eating. It was an extremely simple order two omelets, 1 pancake, and a kid's burger. The manager came around and asked if we were ok. I told her no and told her our issues. She said she'd check on our order and offered us a cinnamon roll. We declined the roll because we wanted our food not a freebie. We waited 5 minutes the manager did not come back. We decided to just leave. While we were on our way out, the manager tried to stop us by telling us in a very rude condescending tone that our food was almost out. We told her we were done and didn't want it. She raised her voice and squacked "well your food is going to be free." I told her "We don't want free this was ridiculous we were just here on Mon. ".. and she interrupted me. I told her you know it's really hard to keep him waiting. Our son has Autism and having him sit for that long was getting difficult for him. I couldn't tell her that because she felt the need to raise her voice again. We told her again we were done and she offered us a gift certificate. We told her no. She needs to work on her management skills. As we were walking out I could hear her talking crap about us. If my son wasn't with us I would have gone back inside and told her how I felt. It took everything inside me not to. Screw you lady we don't need free food. We need people to do their damn jobs! read more

The spinach enchiladas were great, but the other 3 dishes had some issues. The taco salad wasn't dressed. The Buffalo chicken sandwich was dry: chicken a bit over cooked and not enough sauce. Maybe put blue cheese dressing instead of crumbles? And the country fried steak had a gravy that was straight up terrible. Literally no salt or other seasoning, and they obviously didn't cook the roux. It tasted like flour and milk. The server was excellent, however. We came here for a business breakfast one morning for our first visit. We were expecting good food as many if not all had eaten at other Range locations Menaul/Bernalillo) and were disappointed. All of us commented that the food was just off, none at our table finished their food and service was so so. I waited for my coke and water and she started talking to the other costumers and completely forgot about us. Then when we asked to order our food and she rolled her eyes and asked us what we wanted to order with a very sarcastic tone. She got us no napkins or straws my daughter has braces and needs to use straws. I went to the bar and took straws and napkins and she stared at me. I almost finished my salad and found a bug in it.I was so grossed out.I wouldn't recommend this location however the Rio Grande location has great service and great food. This used to be New Mexican food, it's more like a Californians idea of NM food. Nothing tastes like you expect it to, instead it's drowned in white cheddar and black beans. The tacos were so off palate they were inedible, I had chosen the chicken while my fellow diner chose ancho braised beef tacos, neither of us finished them. We couldn't decide if the cotija or ancho chile crema threw it off. We had chosen queso for an appetizer and what arrived was a bowl of very thick chips and what looked like white cheddar curds with mysterious additives that were neither chile nor meat, but looked an awful lot like mushrooms. This takes me back to my California reference, where I was once served Huevos Rancheros with no eggs, no chile and a heavy dose of black beans, spinach and mushrooms. It seems popular with out of state visitors, and that's great, more power to them. But don't go in expecting Nana's recipes, and if you need dessert, it's the bomb. read more

Nine of my and I are traveling by train through Albuquerque and only had an hour to get a meal. We happened upon the Range Cafe. Their service was Impeccable. When we got in Celina was working the front desk and we expressed that we had minimal time to get in and out. She recognized our needed and met them with gusto.
