Walking inside, my first impression was not too great because it's really small. There were only 12 tables and nothing spectacular hence no inside pictures taken. It was self-seated, but the solo waitress greeted me quickly. The large house margarita was only $4.99, so cheap. Fajitas Grill has the best chips & salsa for me, thin, crispy with fantastic salsa. The grilled tacos were delicious. I cleaned every plate given to me that day, including crumbles and every food fragments in sight, making the waitress asking me twice whether I wanted more chips and salsa. I don't know if this is the alcohol talking because I usually don't give out this much praises for a Tex-Mex restaurant, but Fajitas Grill is the first. A fantastic casual cheap dining visit, highly recommend Fajitas Grill, even better than Fajitas Grill 2.

That is phenomenal. Congratulations to Fajitas Grill. Last time here was Oct of '23. I saw the current rating and thought, "maybe I overlooked something?" Back today for a plate of Mexican tacos and Camarones a la Diabla. Both meals good. Great tasting steak in the tacos, fair salsa, decent amount of shrimp in a good spicy sauce. They have great beans. Service is friendly/adequate. It is a great little TexMex joint, but I just cannot mark 5 stars for the food and atmosphere. I have dined at a few other Mexican restaurants for comparison and as a result I'm sticking to my previous rating. Fajitas Grill just didn't deliver a convincing, "Damn that was Good" that I was hoping for. Still a must try for you if you haven't been there.

The rice and beans on the side were great too. I was impressed by how clean the inside was. The bathrooms were very clean too. The inside of El Maguey was very nearly decorated. Fresh. I liked how they brought all four of us our own salsa without us having to request it. But the main courses....UGH. The ground beef "crispy" taco had no seasoning, onions, or sauce. No flavor. My cousin got the same thing, but also with a burrito but he said there was hardly any beans. Both were drowning in the same plastic queso. The rice and beans were just ok. So disappointing. Food was served fast, but too fast! We ordered and within 5 minutes we had our "fresh" food. So that let us know it was all pre-prepared. The waitress could hardly speak any English which made communication a real struggle. She messed up our order due to this and we had to repeat things often and speak slowly using hand gestures to try and help communicate. We were never were offered refills on drinks, chips or salsa. There was one other table being used and approximately six waiters and waitresses just standing around watching us, talking amongst themselves and it made it just feel awkward. We felt "on display". Being watched from afar because they all seemed very bored so we were their prime source of entertainment I'm guessing lol. Unfortunately none of us enjoyed our experience at all. Dang this review is a rough one, I hate having to leave such grim reviews... but I'm just being 100% honest about my experience and this establishment.
