Best dining experience in the panhandle. Took our party of 5 (3 adults, 1 kid, 1 baby) on a Saturday night at 5pm and was seated immediately. Staff was exceptionally attentive to the little ones, bringing a coloring book, making "maracas" out of ice and sauce containers for them to shake, and taking the 4 year old to show her something in another one of the rooms when she got a little antsy at the end of the meal. Drinks were superb (spicy marg!) we started with the ceviche which was incredibly fresh. Crabcakes & grouper on grit cake were our entrees and they were wonderful. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu here and service was above and beyond. Worth the wait if you have to (we came in the off season) restaurant offers shuttles from an offsite parking lot. The red bar is a unique experience to say the least. We stumbled upon this place when we were in town . It's looks like a little dive behind a gas station but when we went inside it was very friendly. We ordered the cheeseburger and fries. Best fries we have ever had, like steak fries and made like fried potatoes . The cheeseburger was delicious also and Red sings songs for entertainment. It's a very lively place. read more

I will say that the atmosphere is fabulous! A little beachy and a little dive-ish. For an average of $16 a cocktail I advise that the bartender at least rinse their shaker between each drink. We ordered around 8 drinks at our table and each tasted like jalapeños (careful if you have capsicum or other common mixer allergies). Cosmos and margaritas were very triple sec heavy. Good service and food. Went on Friday night and sat outside. One of the food servers dropped the entire tray of food and everyone was so professional about it. We got the shrimp and crawfish pasta which was very good and big portion. Also got the tiramisu for dessert which was large enough portion for two and also very good. Red Bar was my sucker bet for '22. 2 stars for a cool atmosphere, beer was cold and the jazz band trio. The area this place is located is really cool. Find somewhere else for food. I typically love places that have a small menu. It usually indicates the few menu items produced have been perfected. Unfortunately, the limited menu here is for ease of kitchen production. Living on old reputation but looking at the reviews, apparently they could serve sauced up show leather and people would rave about it. This is essentially a banquet catering operation in a restaurant atmosphere. Our party of 8 was served our meals within 3-4 min after ordering. Assembly line banquet meal quality - waaay overcooked, dry grouper (pretty sure it wasn't really grouper. If it was real grouper, it was caught once but actually murdered in the kitchen), good grit cake (formed, sliced fried). The eggplant dinner was best thing on the menu. Service was rote - robotic reading of the menu, turn and burn mentality. No personality, no opinion, just get the order, drop food, drop checks on table 10 min into eating. If you're not a foodie, you'll probably love this place - cool atmosphere, trendy place to be. As long time restaurant industry people, we don't care to return. On advice from my friend, we stopped at The Red Bar in Grayton Beach, FL. What a crazy place. It wasn't quite what I was expecting. Parking was intense, but we finally found a spot on a side street. Inside was packed - wall to wall people - nearly a 30 minute wait for a table. We made it to the bar area and found a spot to stand with a drink while we waited. Words don't even describe what the bar looked liked - posters glued to the ceiling inside, duct taped seats, and strings of red lights galore. Once our table was ready, our server greeted us with a large chalkboard and went over the menu options. I zeroed in on the Grouper and we began the dinner with the Tuna Dip. The Tuna Dip was delicious and so was my Grouper. I was so surprised as my expectations were not the high. We were also able to hear the live jazz music, which is always a plus. The Red Bar is a quirky spot but the food is fantastic. The Red Bar certainly makes my must-visit again list when I am back in the Seaside, Florida, area. read more

Me and my family have been coming to this restaurant for many moons and I never really got to take in the whole redbar experience there because when we went I was a lot younger. Now being older and having a greater appreciation for food I have come to the conclusion that this place fu*ks. I ordered the shrimp and crawfish over penne pasta and that first bit was like an orgasm to my mouth. I had instantaneously busted a nut because of how immaculate the dish was. The prices might be steep but once you get your mountain of food in front of you you will very quickly realize how much extra food you will have to eat later, This place on top of the food is gnarly, the live music and the overall scene is stellar. Not just the outside but even in the bathrooms it's decorated. There's probably more d!cks drawn in the bathroom then times I've disappointed my parents. We got our food faster than I can finish (that's really saying something). Overall if you are debating whether to go here or not, empty your paycheck into this place and treat yourself to some great food and drinks. read more

By far the best restaurant in the area... It can be a very long wait to get in but the food is absolutely fantastic. They have a very simple menu with only a couple dishes... but you cant go wrong with any of those dishes. I had the shrimp and crawfish penne pasta and the wife had the fish of the day, grouper. They were great. Make sure you get some type of drink.. They were very generous on the liquor portion. NOTE: CASH ONLY... so make sure you bring cash. I think there is an ATM in the back, but we always had cash as it seems everywhere we went in the area was cash only. Good food, great staff... and very fun environment... (also published on my food blog) The Red Bar is located at 70 Hotz Ave in Grayton Beach FL 32459 and is easily accessible from the beach (we walked from the other side of the state park). Parking can be a bit iffy if coming from the 30A side - you can basically line up along some of the street or park on a portion of the upper beach designated for that purpose (there's also water access to locals for dropping boats) - with the shopping in this area it might be easier to walk from elsewhere. The building itself is very beach-shack-like and super eclectic, with painted or washed gray surfaces and areas completely covered in vines - it's actually quite attractive and easy-on-the-eyes due to the soft surfaces. The restaurant/bar is quite red when you enter - partially due to the lighting and partially due to the objects collected across most surfaces. The ceiling has some great poster art from concerts, movies and other events. I loved the atmosphere and could see myself coming to this bar daily, either for the food or to hang out with a mixed drink or two. We came as a group of 8 people and were seated immediately for lunch. The bar was fairly dark with spots of color coming from the openings to the outside around the edges of the bar, with the pervasive red color. Menus were presented as slips of paper, with most featured items on a chalkboard near the front door. Today's main fish feature was the grouper and I can attest that it was quite good and very fresh. What we ordered: Cup of Gumbo - this was a mighty fine cup of gumbo topped with white rice. There was a good amount of spice, especially the oft-missing filé (sassafras root) and to me an essential ingredient. Fish and Chips - I was a bit hesitant to order this at first as I'm almost always disappointed when something other than cod is used for this classic British dish - however the grouper was so fresh and so good I was made extremely happy. Grilled Grouper Sandwich - as with all of the grouper served on this day, the grilled is no exception to the overall deliciousness. Smoked Salmon Salad - I thought this looked impressive but otherwise I'm not sure I would have ordered it myself.. Grilled Grouper Salad - as with the sandwich, an alternative to the calories I guess. Fried Shrimp Po Boy - now this beast would make any shrimp-fan smile. After the lunch we tried a couple of the desserts: Key Lime Pie - not bad at all - appropriately pale, personally I like mine a bit more piquant but this was fine and well made without the over-the-top sweetness you often get in this Southern classic. Teramisu - this layered dish was quite good with a dusting of cocoa powder and drizzle of chocolate sauce - probably my favorite of the two. In all we had a great time with good food.If I was a local, this would become my hangout. read more
