My first experience here was a mediocre one at best, me and my girlfriend had gone the entire time we were acknowledged maybe twice, to be seated and to order our pizza and drinks. At no other time were we asked if we wanted a refill for our empty glasses. My second experience here was better but still not great. The staff needs to be much more attentive to its customers. Pros: Great menu, FAST service and the food was fun. We had a mix of seafood and steak at our table and our international guests loved it. My 9 year old created his own pizza and he liked having that control. The bread was okay - although it was touted as the BEST cornbread ever. I've made better (sorry). This is certainly a gem worth trying in Conroe! Solid food, great pizzas (or so one of my son's tells me) and a unique vibe make this a must visit spot. I am giving this establishment 2 stars solely based on the bar service. My Mom has lived in the area for 15 years and I haven't ever been in to check it out. My friend and I came in this last Saturday during the Festival at around 4pm. The restaurant itself was full but the bar had four open seats so we set in two of them. There was only one bartender at the moment, she was in the corner leaning against the bar on her phone, she glanced up and looked at us and goes back to texting and laughing at messages. Let me say I have been in the industry for years and this would never fly at one of my establishments. About five minutes later, yes five minutes I timed it, she lingers over still texting on her phone mind you and asks us what we would like to drink. There were some other small issues from us ordering to receiving our drinks that I shall not address because they just seem trivial. Sometime later another bartender comes back up, maybe a shift change or she was on a break I'm not sure, she was great! Then we noticed a girl coming in from the front door and starting her shift so she gets us another round. About 10 minutes later we go to close out our tab and she tells me that two drinks are on one tab and the other drinks are going to be under her number since she's starting her shift. Typically if there's a shift change you ask politely if you would want to close out with them because they're leaving so they can get the tip or just transfer the tab over, I have never had someone tell me that we're going to have two separate checks we have to pay without even asking us if that's OK. Whatever, I said fine, sure I didn't want to make things more complicated for her. Shortly after I ask her to close out the second tab with her number since she's the new bartender on shift. She comes over slams her purse on the bar in front of us, pulls out her own cash out of her wallet and makes a large sigh as if closing the tab out of soooo much trouble. Then she proceeds to tell me get out MY calculator and do the math for our bill because she doesn't have her drawer yet. I honestly thought she was joking so I laughed at her. Who in their right mind has employees that act this way to customers? And why in the hell did you tell us this was on a separate tab considering you don't have a drawer yet? read more

I work across the street, and picked up some lunch to go. It's a small place, but it was packed. The bartender was nice, I didn't spend much time in there since I brought my lunch back to the office. Busy place! Really need to have a reservation if possible. But not sure it would matter. Put our name on the list but they seated everyone behind us first! I finally exclaimed that everyone who came in after me had been seated and we were given an apology and seated. Very few vegetarian options. No more black bean burgers as it has been removed from the "new" menu. Sides, salads and veggie pizza for Vegetarians. Only one soup option offered each day. We ended up ordering a local beer and an order or Parmesan sweet potato fries. Selections on tap were abundant. Fries were fresh and served with ketchup. Table service was harried but pleasant. Stage for performers in this tiny venue would make an intimate performance and listening experience. Interesting music memorabilia on the walls. Very loud inside by conversation. Red Brick is my favorite place in Conroe, and maybe Houston area. Highly recommend their pistachio crusted chicken and French onion soup. They have a very extensive menu and everything is great. Good live music too. read more

Love this place. It is the best kept secret in Conroe. Even though they have live music , this is Not bar food. It has a fantastic menu. I've tried lots but keep going back to the fantastic chicken quesadillas or beef tenderloin sliders. Yum! The food is good and fresh. They make a great coconut martini. It does get crowded so go early or enjoy the wait. They do have quaint seating outside and downtown Conroe is really charming so it's not too bad. This is definitely one of our go to spots. Too many horrible chain restaurants and this so needed in this area. read more

We were seated very quickly at noon. Our waitress was very quick and prompt. (Can't remember her name, little blonde woman) Ordered pulled pork nachos as an appetizer, then a black bean burger and El juevo burger. Both very fresh and presented well. Only complaint is when we paid cash the waitress asked if we needed change. I've been in the industry quite some time, never ask that. I got the Southwest Salad and my co-worker got the Caesar salad for pick-up. My colleague picked up the food for us and said staff was kind of rude, dismissing the fact that I was on hold for 10 min. when calling in the order, forgetting utensils when asked, and there was no croutons or cheese on either of our salads. Food was good. Lots of variety on the menu. Listed as kid friendly but there is no kids menu. Zero kid options. I ordered sides for my girls and it was fine. No high chairs either. They do have booster seats. My toddler fell out of the booth, which would not have happened if they had a high chair. I wouldn't call it kid friendly. Black beans were good. Went here today for lunch. I loved the interior and the beer list, but the food I ordered was subpar. I usually don't complain about food, but the Grilled Chicken sandwich was just not great. The bread underneath was very soggy and soaked... almost as if it was dripping from either the spinach not being drained or the caramelized onions. It was honestly terrible. I can only judge based on what we had so drinks were ok and I wasn't impressed by the fried oysters they were soggy and greasy I only had one and left it as that.
