They are Halal & usually the meat is much better quality. It def was!! Was leaving Sephora & saw sign for $2 tenders on Thursdays. Ordered just one tender with side of ranch. It was kind of a long wait (10-15 min) but I was excited to try it. When they called my number I double checked that my order had the ranch I paid for. She said NOPE this order is honey mustard! I double checked my receipt & let her know it was mine but I ordered ranch. She kind of gave me a hard time. I insisted, because ranch is my fav with spicy food (& not a fan of sweet). She finally said "I guess they hit the wrong button".

Like im trying to pull a fast one over one chicken tender... Chicken was juicy & delicious. Might be back.

Thursdays at The Red Chickz is too good to pass up! $2 per Chicken Strip is amazing! They are not just any chicken strip, they are quite big and packed with flavor. The seasoning on them is so tasty. I seriously enjoyed them. I also got Texas Toast and Donut Holes. They were awesome too! They were busy when I went which is always a good sign. Means they are popular for good food. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant itself was super clean. I love all the quotes and sayings on the walls. The staff were awesome! Everyone I encountered was really nice. I gotta go back and try some other items since I seriously enjoyed the strips!

Not going to lie, I definitely died a bit when I tried this place. Turns out, I've never had dry rub spicy heat before and it is definitely not the same as wet sauce spice. Learned that the hard way. Once the initial shock faded, I did still enjoy our meal. Overall, my guy and I both thought the chicken was just a bit above average, despite having a higher cost. HOWEVER, they only provide 1 small thing of sauce! That is soo rude and upsetting! Just have large tubs of sauce available for people if the individual packets are too expensive. Also, for what we paid, they could've at least given a decent slice of bread instead of a sad slice of wonder bread. Chicken is 3.5, but rounding down because of the lack of sauce included.

Yes!!!! And damn, the chicken, shrimp, and cauliflower at The Red Chickz really are as crunchy as they claim. I've been a hot chicken fan ever since my production team and I worked the CMAs over a decade ago, so I know good hot chicken when I taste it. The seasoning here is savory, addictive, and absolutely delicious. Now, full disclosure: I love hot chicken... but hot chicken does not love me. So I always order their Cool (no heat) version, and every single time it is fantastic. Their tenders are beautifully crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and generously sized. They're so substantial that you can easily make a full sandwich out of them , especially if you add their delicious Texas toast. And let's talk about the shrimp: these are not little shrimp. They are basically the size of prawns, and honestly, some of the best fried shrimp I've had in North County. I'd even say they're better than what I've had at some seafood spots nearby. But my absolute favorite thing on the menu? The cauliflower.As a kid, I never liked cauliflower, but The Red Chickz completely changed my mind. Their cauliflower is outrageously good , crunchy, flavorful, and seriously craveable. Lately, I've been perfectly happy ordering just the cauliflower, Texas toast, and fries because it's that good. A few more standouts: Fries: thick, hearty, steak fry-style, and excellent Mac & cheese: one of the best I've had anywhere Salads: fresh, crisp, and generously portioned Fried cheese curds: squeaky, creamy, and delicious Honestly, I could easily make a full meal out of just the sides and salads. Big thumbs up to The Red Chickz, crunchy, flavorful, and consistently satisfying. I'm looking forward to a very crunchy relationship with this place. Cheers!

This place lives to the hype I will say!! After walking around the mall I wanted a quick bite to each for lunch. This place is pretty big with a lot of seating both inside and outside. This reminds me a lot of Dave's Hot Chicken but I think this is 10x better. I got the original chicken sandwich, added some pepper jack cheese (reccomended by the staff and I will say amazing) with a side of wedge fries. Service was great, the staff were super friendly. The portions are big! I wasn't aware but M-F from 11-2pm they do lunch specials for 9.99! Loooove! Next time I'm in Carlsbad I'll come back !! Check it out if you're in the area!

Listen, paisans -- saw a TikTok about Red Chickz and I got nostalgic enough to make the hundred‑mile pilgrimage from San Diego. I was picturing big, glorious chicken tenders. What arrived: two regular tenders with fries and Texas toast, plus two spicy tenders. Mac & cheese on the side? Missing. Parking? Ridonkulous -- maybe holiday chaos, maybe bad planning. Taste wise, this one lands in the low‑average camp. The meat was dry and the crunch I was hankerin' for was AWOL. My lady asked for a mild heat on her country‑style; she got the full inferno instead -- maybe a mistake, maybe crossed wires, but not what she asked for. And here's the kicker: we asked for one sauce and were billed for four. That ain't right. Overcharging for extras leaves a bad aftertaste you can't fry away. Really wanted to like this place. The girl working the counter was busy with an order but still greeted us. She did ask if we had any questions. We thought we had it. Ordered the honey butter chicken sandwich x2. Both mild. One was with fries the other with coleslaw. And asked for honey mustard sauce. Didn't realize had to pay extra for that. The coleslaw was very bland. The sandwich was ok. One chicken strip for a sandwich was ridiculous. The sauce the sandwiches came with reminded me of thousand island dressing. The honey mustard sauce was different. I will say, the chicken strips weren't greasy like another chicken place we tried. They were crispy with little flavor. I totally disagree with having to pay for a side of sauce. Now if I was asking for extra, that I would understand. Will we be back? No.

Came in on a Thursday for the $2 tender deal and it was great! I got the glow spice level 3 piece and a strawberry shake (for free for checking in on yelp!!) and shared a large fry with my husband. My husband got the cool spice level. I loved mine with the buffalo sauce. I only ate about 1.5 and took some home, was a great left over for the next day. My husband can't handle spice and although it was only paprika on his he liked it but think he will try the country level next time. The tendies were flavorful, crunchy and very tender on the inside. Piping hot temp wise. So much better than Canes. Fries were pretty good, a bit too soft for my liking. Only bummer is you have to pay for additional sauce, but I get it otherwise people would probably waste it...it's good and pretty cheap so it's worth it. Ranch was pretty good. Strawberry shake was delicious! There was a bit of a wait but I was with good company and there was good people watching lol. Bathroom was pretty clean for how busy they were and how many young people they had working haha. I would definitely come back! :)

I've been wanting to come here for long time - especially after every foodie IG influencer posted videos of this place. Let me tell you, it is legit. $3 beers daily. $10 lunch specials daily. $2 tenders on Thursday. What a deal. Free drink with Yelp check in. The spice levels are for real. and they are seriously generous on the portion size... 2 tenders might be enough for most people. I'm guessing but there is a secret to breading fried chicken with corn flakes and I think that's how they do it. It is very crunchy on the outside with juicy chicken inside. It's really good. What gets me is the spice. It's not your wimpy spice levels that you might find at those big corporate chains, this will put sweat on your brow, which is how I like it (bonfire and blaze were HOT and you can level up from there)... But if you aren't into getting your face melted off, there are more mild levels... I'm definitely a fan and will return...

The food was delicious! I don't have any hot chicken experience to compare it to, but I am a fried chicken connoisseur and thought that the white meat chicken strips were fat and juicy and delicious! Got mild, bc I wasn't sure and didn't want to have my taste buds blown out. It still had tons of seasoning and flavor and left a very very mild tingle on my lips. My husband got regular and said it was spicy good. I got the slaw on the side instead of on my sando, so it wouldn't be soggy when we got it to the condo, and it was the right call. Was not expecting this spot to be as good as it was. So glad we stopped in today. Flavorful, friendly, great drink selections non alcoholic drinks and beer selections as well. They are definitely doing things right here. Decided to go with the French test sandwich , one in sweet and spicy, and got exactly that. I should have gone one more spice level higher in retrospect. But glad I did not choose something too spicy for my first time trying the crunch of the chicken was great crunchy flavorful. The chicken itself is juicy moist well seasoned and flavor throughout the chicken. The sandwich came with the small amount of coleslaw on it, which was just the right amount. Not too much not too little. Picked a side of potato wedges and mac & cheese. I have had potato wedges at places and they have been dried out before not here that was not the case at all. Nice size portion of potato wedges and the mac & cheese was extra cheesy. Just how I like it. The sandwich did come with the side of syrup as it is the French toast sandwich, but TBH was not even needed as sandwich itself was a perfectly well balanced flavorful meal with a right amount of spice texture, sweet and spicy blended well the brioche bread was fluffy and was not smashed down at all and did not become soggy from the items on the sandwich. Very well balance on all flavor profile levels, and presentation as well looked great. The staff here was friendly, helpful, answered questions that we had and let us know about the lunch special that they were offering . Told us about their personal favorites and what the fan favors were here. That was helpful on the decision-making. There is the convenience factor of being able to just order out the counter. Usually, I end up going to a sitdown restaurant they do have ample seating inside and outside. And they also have a beer selection as well. As mentioned our "server" was Chelsey even though this was ordering at the counter. This place is amazing and the only thing that would elevate it would be to do actual table service. However, this does not take away from the service that's provided. Not sure if the woman that helped us out was a Manager or an employee there but if she is not a manager, they definitely should look into it as she exemplifies hospitality and customer service and created a very welcoming environment. read more

Food is consistently great. I always come here either before or after seeing a movie next door. One thing I want to highlight here is just how much the owner cares about this place! Tonight I ordered a beer with my hot chicken (the best combination in the whole world) and I happened to be the last pour on the keg. Beer came out all foam and went flat quickly. No problem, I just brought it back up to the counter to let them know. The young woman at the register instantly said "oh, no problem! Sorry about that." And grabbed a cup and poured a new one. You LOVE TO SEE an employee who has the authority to make a quick decision like that. I know from my own experience working in restaurants and all sorts of jobs that that sense of autonomy trickles down from management. Employees either feel empowered to solve a quick problem or they fear they'll get in trouble (or that the rules are so ridged, they freeze and escalate even small issues.) Anyway, keep it up y'all! Not just the great chicken but the good vibes that come from engaged employees with a customer service mindset. We feel it on the other side of the register. read more

I've had a serious craving for some good fried chicken so we decided to check this spot out. Boy, are we glad that we did! They have a giant sign that claims they have the crunchiest hot chicken in San Diego which I now believe is a fair statement. I personally haven't ever had chicken this crispy, crunchy before and I've had my fair share of fried chicken. The hubs ordered the Original Chicken Sandwich and I had the 2 piece chicken tenders, both came with a side of potato wedges. The hubs absolutely devoured his sandwich while I slowly savored every single delicious bite of the crispiest chicken tenders I've ever had! It also came with the perfect dipping sauce, Comeback sauce. I have no idea what's in the sauce but it was the perfect dipper! Both melas were delicious and definitely satisfied my fried chicken craving. Can't wait to come back again!! read more

Wow, they are superb! The chicken was actually crunchy. Flavorful and delicious I am definitely going back. They have some many different options. Like chicken and waffles, French toast and chicken, sandwiches and more. The bread is soft and delicious. The cheese curds stole my heart. They were squeeky and fried to perfection. Their drink options are plentiful and they even have alcohol. The service has a very young staff. All of them were polite, kind and friendly. Great staff. Very patient with my uncertainty on what to order. Chicken is tasty and huge portions (we foolishly ordered 6 pieces for the 4 of us and that was way too much chicken, we had 3 leftover). Be mindful of the heat of the sauces, the hot is VERY hot, even though it falls in the middle range of heat offerings. 7pm. Thursday evening. Going in for that 2$ tender deal. I order 4 tenders and 2 sauces. I am told the wait would be FORTY FIVE MINUTES. Are you INSANE? 45 minute wait on some chicken tenders? I could have, QUITE LITERALLY, driven to raising canes, ordered, came back, and eaten my order before I got my 4 tenders. Whoever is running the operations is FAILING. 1st impression is the best.... Staff & Mr. Mark are AMAZING. Nothing like eating a Great Nashville Hot chicken sandwich & washing it down with a Mango Cart. My order consisted of some shrimp and chicken. Now, before I go any further, they have some serious spice levels, ranging from 1 to 8 or something like that. I can usually handle my heat, but I suggest you don't go beyond Bonfire. I tried Inferno because I thought I was tough, and it made me cry--literally! But it was so worth it because the flavors were out of this world. The shrimp were huge and perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of crispiness. They were absolutely mouth-watering. I enjoyed them so much that I went back the next day to try the chicken. Let me tell you, whatever voodoo they've got going on in that kitchen, it works wonders. I loved how there were more options available to pair with the chicken including french toast, waffles, and potato bread. SHOUTOUT to cashier ELYSE O. who was very attentive and helped explain the menu to us. I asked her what her favorite items on the menu were, one of which included the Honey Butter Sandwich. It was such a great recommendation; the perfect combination of sweet from the honey butter, and savory from the chicken tender and pepperjack cheese. Other items purchased are as follows: - Original Sandwiches: Light, crunchy, flavorful; we appreciate the non-heavy feel that the tenders tasted - 3 Tenders w/ Mac n Cheese: Phenomenal, with the mac n cheese being alright - Potato Wedges: Seasoned perfectly and paired well with the sauce. This is honestly my new favorite chicken spot. They have an amazing selection and the quality is great. I got the French toast chicken sandwich with the cheese curds for my first time and it was so delicious. I love sweet and savory/spicy so it was perfect. I got of them (spark, medium) and that was a good solid heat and flavor. I went back a few days later and got another French toast but with Mac and cheese which was so saucy/cheesy, I loved it. I would say their only down fall right now is that they don't have enough locations, but I'm willing to make the drive, it's that good. Fast and friendly service, with a good ambiance and seating. It's also near the mall which makes it a great choice while shopping. I highly recommend trying them out ASAP! read more
