I really wish I could have tried the food at The Region, because the burgers sounded delicious, but multiple breakdowns in the service prevented us from doing so. My boyfriend lives in the neighborhood so we swung by for a quick bite before a concert last night. There was one person at the front counter and a medium-sized crowd in the restaurant area either dining in or picking up orders, but she quoted us a 20-minute wait for dine-in, which we thought was fine. We ordered 2 single cheeseburgers and an order of cheese fries--nothing complicated. Well, 20 minutes turned into 30, which turned into 45. We saw multiple people come in for pick-up orders that were nowhere near ready and saw them get canceled. I felt bad for the woman at the counter who was clearly stressed and kept saying how slammed they were (it seemed like whatever issue was happening was back-of-house) but she also didn't offer any kind of updates on orders and when we could expect them to come out. It was very clear to us that they were exclusively concentrating on their online orders and not getting to the customers who were actually in the restaurant. The woman called out multiple orders for people who were no longer there and had clearly given up and gone home. When we hit the 50-minute mark my boyfriend went up to the counter to see what was up. She said our food was up next, did we want it, so he asked what next actually meant. A person from the back yelled out "Five minutes!", which seemed obvious to me that they hadn't even started making our food. Rather than risk 5 minutes turning into another 15, we cancelled our order and went without dinner to our concert. It's a shame that this happened because I was hoping this could become an easy neighborhood spot for us, but I honestly don't know if we'll come back. read more

I've been here many times and generally the food and service is OK. Doesn't take long to make a pressed burger and fries. Just went in there and could not be more infuriated. Afternoon on a Saturday and it was NOT busy. They even had two guys in back cooking. I ordered a single cheeseburger with bacon and jalapeño, and a fries order. It took 26 minutes for them to make it. They clearly forgot about my order in back. I only got that answer of how long it took when I inquired. The apology was heartless and the excuse was "it's one of those days". What the hell does that even mean? It wasn't busy. To press a burger and cook fries should never take that long. A sit down restaurant is faster. And there was ZERO accountability. To top it off, they didn't even make the meal right. Forgot both the bacon and the jalapeños. Two items I paid extra for. I also asked for the fries extra well done and rather than saying "sure, no problem" I was told, "they are all that way". Obviously they are not since I specifically request it every time because half theorist is always soggy. As was case today. It's no wonder Edzos burgers closed down in LP and all over. OMG. These are the fries I have been looking for! Super super fresh! The burger is so flavorful (go for the two patties and cheese). The grilled onions on top is chef's kiss. I get their sauce on the side so I can use on my fries, but this place is the real deal. Love the cheese, the bun and the burger. Seriously amazing. Got the fried pickles. They are pickle spears. The Batter is delicious, but falls off after the first bite due to the pickle juice. Super good though! (Not complaining!). This is among the best burgers in the city. I highly recommend. I've been hearing about this place for months and decided to give it a try last night and I was not disappointed. I got the double cheeseburger with onion rings and my wife got the turkey burger and fries. The onion rings are hand battered and very good. The fries are even better. Along the lines of Five Guys fries which are excellent in my opinion. Wife said her turkey burger was really good. My double cheeseburger was huge!! Two thin patties bigger than the bun cooked with crispy but not over cooked edges. Very good burger. If you want the double cheeseburger, go hungry because it is more than enough if you're only moderately hungry. Service was excellent. Very polite young man took our order. It was a bit pricey (over $30 for our order with 2 can sodas) but that won't deter me from going again. Restaurant itself is a bit small which is the only reason for not giving 5 stars. UNRELIABLE HOURS & EXTREMELY AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE ): On Sunday, 10/31/21, at 3:30 pm I called to double-check their hours and an employee answered telling me that they do close at 8 pm. At 6:45 we tried to place an online order and the online system didn't allow us to do so. Then, we tried calling to which we received no answer. After calling a couple more times, someone answered stating "Hello, this is the Region, we are closed". I stated, "I called earlier to confirm your time and someone told me 8pm", the guy responded "the employees who were supposed to close called off so we're closing early". I stated "that stinks, this is our second time trying to order on a Sunday where you all have closed early." The line went quiet, I said "Hello" and the employee hung up. I understand that the pandemic has caused a lot of unreliability etc. within the food/customer service industry, but it truly upsets when the customer service is trash and you're being hung up on. This is the SECOND TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED. The first time my husband and I actually DROVE ALL THE WAY up there (about a good 30-min drive) to be greeted with a makeshift sign stating "CLOSED EARLY", despite it being over an hour before close time! It is extremely unfortunate that we will not be giving our services to this restaurant any longer. It is also unfortunate that I have to leave a one star review seeing as though the burgers are delicious! I loved this place! Went on an unexpectedly long dog walk in the neighborhood and suddenly realized I was starving to death. My roommate got a burger and fries, which he loved and I got a hot dog. It was so delicious that after I finished it, I got another one. Super tasty. Better than you ( or I, at least) can make at home but not unnecessary complicated or fussy. They serve large but thin burgers similar to what you would find at Schoop's or Culvers with amazing crispy meat edges and juicy centers, but more upscale and higher quality. The ability to add heat is a nice twist as well (I had the insanity heat level...If you like serious heat, it will most definitely not disappoint). The heat coupled with whatever is in the region sauce and requesting grilled onions, it's absolute burger bliss. In addition, the seasoned fries are also some of the best I've had. I am usually lukewarm on fries in general, but I was physically unable to stop myself from eating these. When the basket was brought to our table and I tried one, I turned into an utterly shameless French fry vacuum. Interesting spot... We wanted to try this spot as it was new but I'm not sure we'll be back... The burger took a while to arrive (not busy), and was a total mess. We definitely needed a fork and knife to eat it, but the staff had to wash some silverware for us. Taste wise it was good but as it was so messy, I couldn't really eat it all together, so it was more of a deconstructed burger. Fries were only ok. Price wise, it was ok, but for the quick serve type of restaurant, I would have expected it to be a bit less expensive. Service was friendly. Visited The Region after watching them being featured on the burger show by first we feast. My girlfriend and I were literally salivating at the prospect that an amazing burger place was right down the street from us. We paid them a visit the first chance we could and I'm sorry to say that it came a little under par. First off, the service was great, we were greeted with a friendly face and did not feel rushed. We each ordered a single cheeseburger with onion rings and cheese fries on the side since they were out of the chili that day. The sides were amazing, no joke, I would literally go there again just for the onion rings, soooo good. Our only qualm with the entire experience was the burger itself. This was due to two reasons. The first was that both of our patties were completely unseasoned, no salt no pepper. We have burgers at least once a week, so we know when a pattie goes on the grill with NO SALT. The second issue was that we were looking forward to a unique style pattie with crispy edges, what we received were not crispy edges but a regular patty with some smash action. We understand from seeing pictures from other peoples visits that we might have just come on an off day. Perhaps we'll try this place again one day but for now we're gonna say that The Region did not live up to the hype. read more

The restaurant was not busy. As we were eating, other guests were asking for basic things that they were also out of. The restaurant was dirty, especially the bathroom. The floors in the bathroom were so greasy that my feet were sliding around. If you are looking for a much more superior burger/experience, I would highly recommend Redhot Ranch. Roscoe/Ravenswood has been waiting for a burger joint like this to pop up. Now, as I write this it's been 2 years since they opened, but I stumbled upon them intending to go to a restaurant nearby that was closed. FANTASTIC patty melt and the region sauce that's served is some type of fruity mayo/ketchupy fantastic sauce that makes both fries and the burger better. Like that it's on the side with the patty melt so you can dip every other bite and enjoy the cheesy and onion-y flavor every other bite. Can't wait to go back here and take my wife. read more

Their TryCaviar photos show what seems to be a large handmade veggie burger, but when I received it, it looked nothing like the photo and was just a frozen tan patty. The only thing that was good about it, was the sauce. Additionally, the fries were soggy and cold when they arrived. Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience from this place. Respectfully I say this. I will never come here again. I have been wanting to visit this place for a while now and someone recently posted a video on instagram so this place was not prepared for the aftermath of that video. They only had burgers available and were completely out of sides. I don't mind that because things happen but it's your service that counts and the food. The service was beyond terrible, the guy behind the counter had a terrible attitude and treated me like I was bothering him. If you don't want to work that isn't my fault and I am always nice and I always try to put people in a good mood ( customer service habit) but this guy was a complete jerk and I'm still kicking myself for leaving a tip. The tables were gross and sticky and I wish I could say the food was worth it but unfortunately it wasn't! I don't believe we were given the amount of beef we paid for. We did a 'single cheese' which was supposedly a 7oz burger and my friend who works in the food industry and said the burger definitely wasn't 7oz. and really, the burger tasted pretty bland.
