I was in the Woburn area and wanted breakfast so we decided to try out this place. We ordered ahead and still had to wait about 10 mins after, they said it would be ready in 20 mins and we arrived about 35 mins later. With that being said it was understandable because when we arrived it was really busy in there (Saturday around 11:30-12pm), that was a good sign the food had to be good. I visited here for breakfast, and I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to return. This place definitely feels very "locals only", and the ordering system is a bit confusing if you haven't been here before. The employees weren't very welcoming or helpful, but we ended up ordering some breakfast food, which is prepared right on the spot for you which is pretty neat. I ordered the eggs benedict, which is one of my go-tos for brunch. After only a few minutes of waiting, we sat down at a table. The ambiance feels more like a bar than a relaxing mom-and-pop restaurant, but we just needed a quick bite to eat, so it wasn't a big deal. Unfortunately, the food I ordered just wasn't very good. I can't remember the last time I saw a restaurant with cafeteria-style ordering. There's a weird nostalgia with it. You give your order at the counter, tell the cashier what you got and pay, and then the food is brought out to your table, which you pick yourself. I got a chicken sandwich wrap and was pleasantly surprised. I normally don't order sandwiches as I can make them at home. When I get a really good sandwich, I know they've put thought into the food and worked hard at it. The Restaurant, Nice location downtown, parking was easy. Great curb appeal and when you walked in nice clean environment with a good-looking bar area. The food is cafeteria style so more of a breakfast lunch type atmosphere. When my cousin and I walked in we were debating whether to stay or not there was only one person at the bar who actually ended up being an employee. It was about 730 in the evening and the place was deserted. We should've heeded the obvious warning of no one in the location but we decided to try it out since it was a new place and we were already there. My cousin was very disappointed with his American Chop Suey and stated that it tasted as if their sauce came out of a jar. He gave it a 1 Star rating. I opted for the sliced turkey and for my sides I added string beans, carrots and mashed potatoes with gravy. It was basically what I expected from the cafeteria style joint. The turkey was plentiful very large plate very picture worthy. The vegetables and the mashed with the gravy I'd give everything a solid 3 Stars. I will return if possible to try out their breakfast as it does seem more of a breakfast lunch type facility. I Give the Restaurant a Solid 2.5 Stars. Went here on a day when I was getting my car repaired down the street since a coworker recommended it and was not disappointed! The Restaurant is a breakfast-lunch place with a homey feeling to it. It's right on the main road, Route 38, and is a main throughway for traffic and business. It was not that busy when I stopped by and as such was serviced quickly and efficiently. I grabbed a BLT and fries when I stopped by and both were great! BLT definitely has a very natural-tasting flavor to it and the fries taste exactly like I would expect from a breakfast place. Overall they provide that home-cooked breakfast place feeling we all know and love. Stop by here if you get the chance! A snarky name, more so than ironic. You better be around for a long time and have some top notch food to be so bold with a name like that. It's not the best grub in history but I don't see them closing up shop anytime soon, very solid for what we have experienced so far. We mainly think of this place for breakfast and so do many other people, apparently. Around 9 - 11 AM on the weekends, it can be tough to even find a table. I think I was here for dinner once years ago but don't remember enough about the experience to critique. I'm a bit adverse to cafeteria style, mainly because it reminds me of all of the depressing times of visiting grandparents in a hospital and eating the horrible food along with it. Upon entering, you are in the throws of Order Central almost immediately. I wish they had a menu that was more viewable prior to picking up your tray and utensils. I feel a bit rushed when I want to study it for a minute or two, especially when crowded. I ultimately make quick and rash decisions unlike if I had a menu in front of me and could look it over for as long as I needed. Customers also seem to have a tough time understanding some of the guys taking orders and I've had to interpret on several occasions, which was funny but a bit odd. But my order has never been wrong and the food is served to you ultra quick while you watch it fry and sizzle away on the grill immediately in front of you. The checkout lady is very chatty and witty and I always have some good conversations with her. It's a bit awkward you need to go back to the same place to refill your coffee and also reach over other paying customers to get more cream. The value is there for some dishes, but not all. The add on for meat to the pancakes and french toast is a bit steep but the grilled muffins are amazing with a variety of flavors and are all I've gotten along with coffee for a filling meal. All in all, it's the most solid breakfast spot in Woburn Center, even though I think we need more, especially with the recent fire shutting down one of the others on Main St. It isn't always our top choice when counting other towns in the area but one we frequent because of consistency, friendliness and an all around decent experience. read more

This restaurant is so unique and superb, I cannot wait to return. I met up with some friends here before seeing a movie at the movie theater down the road. I walked in and saw all of their entrées and immediately needed to order something. I wanted to try the fried pickles, but they were all out. The bartender was quick to suggest the hummus. It was a great suggestion, it was absolutely delicious. All of my friends food looked great too - ranging from chicken sandwiches two salads. Just had a nice, clean and intimate environment. Breakfast all day! I'm sold! I love this place because they serve breakfast all day (even on the weekdays) and I also like that I can order a single pancake for $2.00. It's massive! It's better to get here early to beat the lunch rush and be able to snag a table. The food is always good. If you get the Mediterranean wrap, tell them to go light on the Feta. It becomes a bit salty with the olives and generous amount of feta and marinated chicken. I always feel rushed to order but it's only to keep the line moving. I heard about Restaurant many times on Phantom Gourmet and since working in Woburn it was always on my mind. Yesterday we got a chance with 2 of my colleagues to visit that place for lunch. Man the place was packed to the brim. The Menu is not bad and i believe recently they have also added a bar which was also packed with all the guys in shirts and ties. So the menu to start out is pricey. There are lots of choices though and the quantity is def dinner size and not lunch so kinda balances out the pricey part but still if it would have been $1.50 cheaper than it would be a gem of a place. This place is a cafeteria style where you grab a big tray and forks and knives etc etc and move on and start ordering. Ordering is very fast paced and you should know what you want otherwise you would be holding up the line. There are plenty of choices. I went with chicken parm and friends went with meatloaf plate and gyro wrap. I got a soda and total came to $14.50 ish. But the chicken was freshly fried and cooked in a def homemade marinara sauce and not a some ready BS type of sauce. The taste of sauce was unique and different and it was quite nice. Friends loved their food as well. They serve some stuff on the table while some you pick on the line. NO problem and service is quick too. It is a great place for lunch and dinner for that matter and breakfast menu was very tempting. I think we found a good place but three stars only because it is a bit pricey. Very impressed with this cool restaurant and bar in Woburn Center. I've only ate at the bar and the menu was good and their were lots of things I wanted to try, which will definitely inspire me to return in the future. Our bartender Dave was friendly, responsive and quick to make recommendations... All of which were great. Warm bread w/ Romesco Sauce - Nice way to start the meal, the bread was perfectly warm and the sauce was a great change of pace from the usual butter. Salmon - Pretty cooked salmon in a marinate. Nothing to spectacular or extraordinary, just a good piece of fish. Spicy Truffle Fries - I love truffle fries and I sometimes enjoy spicy fries. The flavors on this one seem to fight each other more than they go together. BBQ Pulled Pork w/ Corn Salsa - This was the highlight of the meal. The pork was tender, sweet, and delicious. A chaotic ordering process and slightly overpriced standard 3 eggs and bacon breakfast. First when I asked for 3 sunny side up eggs I waited 5 min then had to tell them again and have them put them on the grill. When I was confused about the price thinking it was 5.75 for 3eggs bacon coffee toast and hash browns. We were recommended to eat here by the staff at the Crown Plaza Hotel, when their restaurant was closed. It's a local place down the road from the Hotel. A break from the chain restaurants, and over-priced places. It was great. They were fine with special requests, and mixing and matching. Kind of like home cooking. Cheap by Boston standards. Cafeteria style--you stand up to order and they bring the food to you. Have a seat at the bar if you want to meet and chat with the friendly locals. Will stop in again next time in the area. Went here last minute in Sunday for breakfast . The cafeteria style can get a little backed up during a busy time but the food was super yummy! Staff was VERY nice too. Not something you usually see anymore. Seems family owned (which is GOOD) I had eggs with homemade hash- there HAD to be about a pound of it on my plate- so good and hard to finish it all. Prices are on par with other places in the area. We decided to come here for a meal after reading that it's a cafeteria and it's been a while since we've been to one. We got here about half an hour before closing. Even though, it looks like they were about to close, they still served us. When we walked in, we walked in to the restaurant side and didn't realize that until the bartender told us that there's a separate entrance for the cafeteria. We ordered the Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans and it was delicious. Daughter also ordered the Fried Haddock sandwich with fries and coleslaw. She loved it. The fish was fried nicely. Hubs saw that the orders were and big and shared it with us because we weren't going to be able to finish it. Service was very friendly. My grandfather loves The Restaurant. From the look of the patrons at this place, it seems that everyone elses grandfather does too. It's more or less a big cafeteria, where you stand in line and tell the guys behind the counter what you want on the menu (it's a huge menu, they have pretty much everything). However, despite it being a stand-in-line establishment, most things don't come out right when you order them and you'll end up back at your table waiting for 10 or so minutes, not too bad. I got the steak tip salad, which was very good. The steak tips were nicely marinated and they put enough on it that I could barely even eat the salad. My mom got shepards pie which was pretty average, but good enough. How awesome can Shepards Pie be, really? Overall, I wouldn't come back on my own, but I'm sure I will next time Grandpa is in town. read more

I did, then watched as the owner and his cook handled food with bare hands. The owner then made some random remarks disparaging a particular political party so that everyone in line could hear. As I was contemplating how out of touch the owner must be for talking politics at his breakfast customers, I greeted the cashier and asked for Orange Juice. Big mistake, apparently. It appears it does not know what it wants to be (A bar or cafeteria with snappy cooks on a grease line). The breakfast had Big City prices but the food was pretty lackluster and tasted like it came off a C-rate food truck. We just ran from this place. First off all very rude cooks. When I asked to add piece of cheese to my order they looked at me as if i am not from this planet and started arguing. Ok... then when we saw that they cook without gloves and touch everything with their bare hands we almost puked! And I am not talking about ingredients while cooking. Was greeted by staff members who seemed friendly to their regular customers but quite curt to myself. Having worked in the restaurant industry before I knew this wasn't the norm and maybe they were just having a bad day. It all went further downhill when I actually sat down to eat my food. Home fries looked and tasted burnt, not seasoned whatsoever. There were several pieces of egg shells on my fried eggs and overall it just didn't taste good. Their greek salad dressing is like crack, my favorite dressing by far as it is a little sweet which is quite different from most greek dressings I've ever had; I always make sure to get a greek side salad with my meal because of it. Walk in and grab a tray, DO NOT save a table as that is frowned upon and everyone will give you the evil eye. Don't worry as turnover at the tables always works out! Once you get close to the counter, you better have your order decision ready as the staff are always asking " what are you having?" I usualy go for breakfast, omlets are great, home fries are outstanding and the muffins on the grill a hidden gem. Pay at the register, find a table or sit at the bar and enjoy.
