I wish this place would go back 10 years and make it like "the spot you want to go to"....versus the spot you now avoid.

Qualify for it from 3-6 We chose the booth and we ordered the mushrooms platter and done noodle salad. My mother got the Mediterranean white fish. The server Julian was really wonderful. I couldn't deceive on hot or cold coffee or cold brew and he brought me a sample of the cold brew with oat milk which I decided would be perfect. The done noodles salad was very flavorful, the ginger on top was a little hard to chew but the plant based vegan chicken was a great cutlet very savory. We will definitely return again.

You can make a reservation on OpenTable. We sat in the main dining room. The interior has a cozy feel and good vibe, with music playing in the background at a medium level. We happened to visit on Sunday which is Greek Night. In addition to the main food and drink menu, there is an additional food and cocktail menu with Greek inspired items. We decided to share the Kleo-tini (gin, basil, Kleos mastiha, olive bitters, $14) with a Greek spirit you will probably rarely see. It was a healthy pour in what seemed like a slightly oversized martini glass. It was very good, and definitely had a unique botanical/herbal flavor unlike any I've tasted before. We started out with the zucchini chips ($16) from the Greek menu. They were thin-cut, had a light breading brading on them, with a sprinkle of I believe oregano on top. It was a good portion, and we enjoyed the zatziki sauce for dipping. For my entrée, I had the lemon herb grilled chicken (marinated organic Mary's chicken, julienne vegetables, roasted potatoes, lemon beurre blanc, $30). It was a surprisingly large piece of chicken with a nice crisp on the skin, and was smothered in that great lemon butter sauce. The chicken was nice and moist. The veggies were good, and I only had a few of the potatoes because I was stuffed. She had the grilled Scottish salmon (wild caught salmon, dill mustard buerre blanc, sautéed spinach, whipped potatoes, $36). It came with a good sized piece of fish with lots of butter sauce on top. The spinach and potatoes were also good, and she enjoyed the entrée. Our server Carolyn was friendly and provided good service. We enjoyed everything here, and the menu has a wide variety of items. Flavor was good and the meat was tender. But I expected short ribs and got briskets. The sauce was good with the briskets. The potatoes... I actually expected hash browns but it was breakfast potatoes which was mixed into the sauce and was soggy. Potatoes were very salty and made the sauce salty as well. Overall, this dish was too salty for my taste. It looks like salt is the chef's favorite seasoning and they are very generous with it. We didn't make any comments about the food being too salty as we didn't want the food to go to waste. The bar staff did a good job refilling our coffee and checking to make sure our food was good. I probably won't come back because the food appears to be too salty overall for my taste. The atmosphere seems nice and they had many reserved large parties that were getting together for the Sunday brunch. Once again, make sure you make reservations!

My usual is always the Hawaiian Ribeye until several years ago, they had a guest star join the spotlight, the Wood Grilled Ribeye which made me a diehard fan. At first sight the Reyn is easy to pass up: a squat old corner coffee shop out of the way of tourist wanderings. Walking in, the decor is a curious mix of old turquoise booths and a newer, warm decor. A friendly but busy waitress welcomes you as she zips around, inviting you to take a seat anywhere you like. You wonder if you made the right decision. Trust me, you have.The Reyn is the kind of place that locals are reluctant to share. Indeed, most of the customers are regulars who are on a first-name basis with the entire small staff, including the cook and the owner.The menu is standard breakfast and lunch fare: eggs, pancakes, waffles, French toast, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Nothing fancy, but well-made and cooked to order Coffee is fresh-brewed and served in a mug that could have come from your mother's cupboard. Soda is served in a can with a glass of ice. Banana bread is a toast option. So is a biscuit with gravy. Fresh fruit is diced daily, and the salsa is made as-needed from scratch. Care has been taken to make sure that everything on the menu is high quality without compromising the classic, down-home flavors you expect. Or price: unless you order extras (which are hardly necessary), a satisfying meal will run under $10.Many other on-line reviews say they offer pho, but they have since changed ownership so that is no longer an option.The service is friendly and efficient. Weekends can be a little harried because the restaurant is full most of the day, and the tiny staff is constantly hopping. "Friendly and efficient," however, never drops below professional and courteous. And no matter how busy they are, customers rarely have to wait for a table.It's hard to make a menu recommendation because I've never had anything I didn't like! If you are looking for the most bang for your buck, I recommend the #4: The Reyn Special. It's a typical two-egg breakfast with your choice of meat, side, and toast. (Get the banana bread.) A local mom and pop, Reyn has been around in Pasadena for a while now (I'd say 20 years at least) so that's gotta be some kind of testament to the place. It's also pretty easy to miss if you're not looking for it. First off, breakfast is the most popular there. The blueberry pancakes, banana bread, french toast and omelettes seem to be the best. Classic. The french toast is this strange yet tasty deep fried concoction I haven't seen elsewhere. Basically, you can't really go wrong with the breakfast fare. Lunch items, well there's your basic sandwiches/burgers which are filling. Can't say I'm a big fan of the chicken burger, but I also haven't tried everything on the lunch menu. The club sandwich is nice. Never ending coffee is always nice to soak in the morning. I just can't stand to make the stuff at home. I also have to say, it's hard, if not impossible, to find an unpretentious "American style dining" environment like you find at the Reyn, and I'm not just referring to the old school classic 50's style counter there. TV shows and desperate USC film students have used the place to film scenes in it, yet the restaurant doesn't go posting kitschy pictures up like you'd see at Applebees or something. It is what it is. Regulars come and go and seem to get along with the staff and each other, which can seem surprising. (Note: Daily regulars). Service was quick and courteous. Reyn's definitely worth a shot to see where Pasadena regulars get their breakfast fix. There's always a few LA Times/ Pasadena Star newspapers lying around which is nice. Sports section seems to disappear a lot when I'm there though, especially the morning after the Lakers play... Weekends get more crowded, but for some reason never so much that you have to wait for a table. Oh, and get there early, they close at 2:00 PM. They're notoriously hard to catch open. read more

Well the food is good I am bothered by the fact I am currently disabled I requested a booth when I first got here none were available at that time . I got seated at a table , it was uncomfortable they took my ordered not even 5 minutes later 5 booths became available, I requested a booth which I was denied ... that don't make sense . I come here a lot I spoke with the manager his reply because if I do it for you I have to do it for everyone, isn't that called customer service ? I am spending my money, and it was for my disability I felt like leaving but I stood very uncomfortable in pain eating ... I should be eating comfortably... is this how they treat disabled people? I have passed by this place several times, and didn't really give it a thought. Sunday we wanted breakfast and I checked Yelp and found this place, with many great reviews. The restaurant is cute and small but has a lovely ambiance to it. Service was impeccable. The entire staff helped us with whatever we needed. We were constantly checked on, our food was brought quickly and our coffee never went cold. The food was great. The country fried steak was so good, my son's melette was perfectly cooked. This is my local watering hole! I love to come here and eat because it's such a convenient location. Parking is always readily available and there always seating no matter what time I get there. I usually order the Reyn Special which is number 4 on their specials because it has everything; Bacon or Sausage, 2 eggs, hash browns or grits or home fries and any kind of toast... I joke that this is the last greasy spoon. In Pasadena, but only in the most adorable manner. The waitresses are classic hard working gals. The walls are full of pithy witty wisdom and puns. License plates from every state and local signed football poster. The food is more creative than you'd expect and.its doing well. The menu is varied enough to make me want to try this spot again, so a pretty good time was had by all.

I recently had the great fortune of having a baby shower hosted for me at Kathleen's, and it was the perfect venue for it! Kathleen and her team warmly welcomed us into the private room next to the main dining area. They had prepared a wonderful menu for the party to select from and throughout the afternoon floated in and out refreshing everyone's drinks. We learned that a lot of the dishes were based on family recipes, which only added to the charm! They brought out the most incredible broccoli soup to start off with--rich, creamy, textured, perfectly salted, and paired with the best bread! They also gave us some slices of their pumpkin-walnut bread, which we could have eaten a loaf of! Everyone loved their respective entrees, which all were huge portion sizes. I thoroughly enjoyed the charbroiled burger topped with avocado, bacon, swiss cheese, tomatoes, white onions, and thousand island sauce with a flavorful dill pickle and a delicious side of refreshingly crisp and slightly sweet cole slaw. The Tuna Marco was a huge hit as well-- a delightful tuna salad, with tomato, lettuce, and swiss cheese on a soft, buttery croissant. My partner also raved about the Salmon Salad, which featured perfectly cooked, fresh, succulent charbroiled salmon atop a bed of mixed greens, tomatoes, capers, and onions, drizzled with a bright balsamic vinaigrette. Our discerning toddler also did a happy dance and ate a surprisingly large portion of her kids meal bean and rice burrito with a side of rice. Then for dessert, we had an entire chocolate velvet cream cake, which was four layers of heaven. This dessert was light, not too sweet, and really hit the spot. I could eat that every night! All around, I couldn't have asked for a better baby shower. Many thanks to Kathleen and her team for making it such a special afternoon. Can't wait to return with another little one in tow soon to try out other dishes and bring home some more baked goods and desserts!

Finally I had the French toast and I got only three pieces of bread for $16-17! What! Yes I know! The only good thing is that their agua Fresca was good and the salsas were good.

Pasadena needs breakfast places, but mostly it needs breakfast ALL day places. The few breakfast places around close early or stop serving early for the most part. Not a ton of options. This is a nice option right in Old Town. Will be back for a breakfast taco again! I want to try their other food options from the taco stand part of the same business. Something for everyone! Even my gluten free friend who had loads of choices. That was really nice to see.
