I was pleasantly surprised by how great this restaurant is. Alejandro was on his "A" game and did not miss a beat as he served up our order and provided our meals quickly and hot. The prices are very competitive and we even had leftovers!

What a satisfying comfort food breakfast. Fast, friendly service all inside what looks like a 1950's diner. Don't think you could go wrong with anything you order. The specialty of the house appears to be homemade banana bread - it seems to come with every dish. It was good, especially slathered with the big dollop of butter. Hashbrowns that accompanied the eggs and bacon were crispy delicious. Service was spot on. Inside the diner atmosphere exudes everything. No frills just a wonderful way to stary your day.

Small hole in the wall diner with pretty decent food. The interior is small and cozy but the staff is super friendly. They were also very accommodating about swapping meat alternatives since I do not eat meat. Basic breakfast food that is actually good. Glad to live nearby to be able to visit any time.

Excellent prices, delicious no frills food and fast service, you cannot go wrong here. The Reyn has been a staple in Pasadena for decades there's plenty of parking behind the restaurant. They are known for their banana bread which you can sub for any toast order but more importantly for good value. This beloved spot can have over an hour wait on the weekends so come early! The hash browns are crispy and the t-bone is well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Their pancakes are amazing as well, not buttermilk and not doughy just yum! This spot is nothing flashy just a traditional diner full of locals and food served with love.

I love the Reyn, and so do other people as evidenced by the very long line if you go after 8:30am on the weekends. We're lucky to live close by and come early in the morning when there aren't that many people inside. We choose our seat and get our order taken quickly by an always friendly service staff. I've had the French toast combo and that was delicious but my FAVORITE breakfast is the Spanish omelette. If you don't like thin/tomato-ey salsa, you should probably get this with salsa on the side or something because they DRENCH the omelette in salsa (which I enjoy because I like the saucy salsa). I love the crunch of the bell peppers and onions inside of the omelette and the cheese is soo gooey. The hash browns are perfectly crunchy and they give you an ample amount (but I'm a potato fiend and still always want more!) I've tried basically every bread that they have there and they're all delicious. They have a bakery that they get the bread from and you can tell - at first I thought they baked the bread in house because that's how good it was! The banana bread is worth the extra charge, but my favorite are the English muffins, they're nice and tangy. I'll be coming here are often as I can because I absolutely love The Reyn!

They were attentive and seated us right away. Use the back door to enter the restaurant and grab street parking. The hashbrowns and bacon were a bit too greasy for my taste and the sausage was okay. The banana bread was very chewy and thick, The pancakes were fluffy and fine. Overall a good experience with our server and the food tasted homemade.

We came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning around 9 am. The place is BUSY! We had our name added to the waitlist; they said about 20 minutes, but 10 minutes later asked us if counter seating was okay. Of course; I enjoy seeing how restaurants function. Excellent service, delicious food and a great place to enjoy a nice breakfast. Think diner vibes with some delicious banana bread as a not to miss option. My husband and I ordered a Chicken fried steak and corned beef and hash. Both meals were very good. It's worth the wait.

What We Ordered: -Banana Bread $3.89 -Farmer's Breakfast $16.29 -Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs $15.49 -Coffee $3.49 I read online about their famous Banana Bread. As soon as, we were seated and given menus. I asked for a slice of Banana Bread. My mouth was watering in anticipation of trying the Banana Bread. My Mother wasn't much of a cook, but she did make a decent Banana Bread, but I gotta say, The Reyn makes a better one than her. My go-to diner order has always been a Chicken Fried Steak unless they're known for something specific. The Chicken Fried Steak was nice and tender, but it was a bit of small portion. It came with a side of toast or Banana Bread. The only answer is to order the Banana Bread over an order of toast. The home fries with the onions were great! As previously mentioned, the banana bread was out of this world! You must try it! My wife ordered the Farmer's Breakfast which came with two eggs, hash browns, two strips of bacon, two sausage links and two pancakes. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and a good size. The staff did a great job with refilling waters and topping up the coffee. That was very attentive on their part! I probably wouldn't order the Chicken Fried Steak again, but I would for sure order the home fries with onions and that delicious Banana Bread. The wife said, she'd order the Farmer's Breakfast as she especially loved the crispy hash brown. We'll definitely be back to The Reyn again soon! Looking forward to trying other delicious dishes.

I had breakfast twice here last weekend. How have I not tried this place before?! The food here is fantastic! Everything is cooked perfectly, the service is fast and nice, ambience is adorable. I highly recommend their banana bread. The portions are generous and the price is reasonable, especially compared to other options in the area.

What do you think k this looks like, cheese fries... no its an order of huevos rancheros, what a presentation!!
    Dulce C.

The sauce of the huevos rancheros, lack of flavor, add some spices. The presentation really sucks, how about the potatoes on the side, it just looks like a mountain of sauce and cheese. I asked for a jalapeño and was charged $0.29, come on guys!! Ot at least offer a good side salsa, not the bottle type. Coffee almost $4.00 , Starbucks is better and for $3.15... really!! The service is good, the server is very attentive. Definitely you can do better, going next door and trying their mexican food. First and las here

    Fun decorations!

What is the purpose of the wait list when a third of the tables were empty?

When we went there was no wait list

    Do they have WiFi?

I don't think so! They have very quick turn arounds, so they don't want customers stick around for too long.

Can you do a large to go breakfast order for 30-40 people?

    I want to see menu?

Just good coffee shop food. Nice place to hangout or meet friends.

Do you do to go orders?

    Yes they do!

Seating options include the main dining room, at the bar or in the bar-half of the interior, or at a table on their spacious outdoor patio, which has plenty of covering, umbrellas, and heat lamps for colder weather. You can make a reservation on OpenTable. We sat in the main dining room. The interior has a cozy feel and good vibe, with music playing in the background at a medium level. We happened to visit on Sunday which is Greek Night. In addition to the main food and drink menu, there is an additional food and cocktail menu with Greek inspired items. We decided to share the Kleo-tini (gin, basil, Kleos mastiha, olive bitters, $14) with a Greek spirit you will probably rarely see. It was a healthy pour in what seemed like a slightly oversized martini glass. It was very good, and definitely had a unique botanical/herbal flavor unlike any I've tasted before. We started out with the zucchini chips ($16) from the Greek menu. They were thin-cut, had a light breading brading on them, with a sprinkle of I believe oregano on top. It was a good portion, and we enjoyed the zatziki sauce for dipping. For my entrée, I had the lemon herb grilled chicken (marinated organic Mary's chicken, julienne vegetables, roasted potatoes, lemon beurre blanc, $30). It was a surprisingly large piece of chicken with a nice crisp on the skin, and was smothered in that great lemon butter sauce. The chicken was nice and moist. The veggies were good, and I only had a few of the potatoes because I was stuffed. She had the grilled Scottish salmon (wild caught salmon, dill mustard buerre blanc, sautéed spinach, whipped potatoes, $36). It came with a good sized piece of fish with lots of butter sauce on top. The spinach and potatoes were also good, and she enjoyed the entrée. Our server Carolyn was friendly and provided good service. We enjoyed everything here, and the menu has a wide variety of items. They have even more offerings on Greek Sunday. We would definitely return when in the area.

They checked on us several times during our meal to make sure everything was okay. We ordered the Crab Cake Benedict and the Short Rib Hash along with their coffee. The food came out very quick... It seems the food was prepared in advance and just plated when ordered. The Crab Cake Benedict looked very good. The presentation was flawless. We dug into the poached egg on top of the crab cake. The yolk didn't run as much as we thought and hoped. However, it was good. The Crab Cake was barely warm and didn't have a crispy outside. It really didn't have much flavor at all either. It was quite disappointing. The sauce they used was quite bland and the English muffin that held the crab cakes and the poached egg on top was very chewy and didn't feel freshly toasted. I had expected so much more from this place. We asked for potatoes to be well done and crispy. They did cook it very well but it wasn't crispy at all and it was very salty. I guess the crop cake Benedict and the potatoes kind of balanced each other out, but that shouldn't be the way a dish is prepared. Both items should be tasty in itself. The short rib hash was presented quite well. The poached egg was a bit overdone as well. The short rib meats actually felt like they were actually lean meats on briskets. Flavor was good and the meat was tender. But I expected short ribs and got briskets. The sauce was good with the briskets. The potatoes... I actually expected hash browns but it was breakfast potatoes which was mixed into the sauce and was soggy. Potatoes were very salty and made the sauce salty as well. Overall, this dish was too salty for my taste. It looks like salt is the chef's favorite seasoning and they are very generous with it. We didn't make any comments about the food being too salty as we didn't want the food to go to waste. The bar staff did a good job refilling our coffee and checking to make sure our food was good. I probably won't come back because the food appears to be too salty overall for my taste. The atmosphere seems nice and they had many reserved large parties that were getting together for the Sunday brunch. Once again, make sure you make reservations!
