The area is a seat yourself. So it's very first come first serve. You have to order from the window when you first walk in. Ashley is a very nice and sweet hostess. The area is very on point for it to be a rooftop. I went on a lovely breezy day. My wings were very underdone. Ask for extra crispy to ensure the food is cooked to completion. read more

My bestie stayed here so I paid her a visit. She was flying out the next day, and we wanted a glass of wine. How could we pass up the rooftop bar on the 8th floor. As soon as you step off the elevato, walk forward to a door that leads to the rooftop. It was quite pleasing to the eye. The view is spectacular. The music was jumping but not overly loud. You can see the Porsche Building and the track very clearly. You are also privy to seeing numerous jets landing as the runway is behind the hotel. We opened a tab and ordered drinks and wine and also a lot of food. Sautéed Garlic Shrimp, Overland Sliders, Chicken Wi, gs and an Overland Burger. I had the burger. It was huge and made from what seemed like steak almost. It was dressed beautifully with lettuce, gouda cheese, and some thick bacon. Everything we had was good. The bartenders and serving staff were supreme. Very, very nice. The rooftop is open from 5-11pm. It was a very enjoyable aspect of our experience here at Kimpton Overland. We will be back. read more

Ok let's get into my time here! First time was during COVID, a ex took me here, we ate downstairs, the went to the rooftop. The food was good and I remember my Moscow Mule was one of the best. As for the resent time and back then the view at night is/was everything! The views of new growth in Hapeville and the airport lights, seeing the planes coming in for a landing, and taking off is everything! I'll say this each time I've been has been in the evening. I've not experienced service up top, to know if they even offer service up there. 2wks. ago was a private party a Sneaker Ball, the set up is nice and there is quite a bit of seating. I would still recommend giving them a visit again for sure, I'll be going back during the day so I can see some Porsche circle the track. The idea of a rooftop bar overlooking the runways at Hartfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport sounded amazing. This place sits a top the Kimpton Hotel on the 8th floor. Sadly the amazement of this place stopped with the views of the planes taking off and landing. There is a very basic menu on the rooftop with bar bites. Honestly there's enough variety to satisfy for a meal but way overpriced for what you get. The common pricing theme is $18-20 per item. We ordered the croquettes, margarita flatbread and fried ribs. The croquettes were much more like two cornbread biscuits versus a traditional croquette. The flatbread was very thin. It was tasty but quite a small portion. The fried ribs were unique as they were traditional ribs that had been breaded and deep fried. In this beautiful setting we were excited to try these bites however they came out with a lack luster presentation and with plastic utensils wrapped in cellophane. Definitely not what I would expect for a classy boutique hotel in an amazing location. The drink menu was fun and had several signature cocktail drinks available plus a full bar with beer and wine too. Again a common theme of $18-20 per cocktail. Only 1 bartender/server was on-duty for the rooftop bar and they advised us normally there are 2-3 people working in the bar however after reading other reviews this sounds like a common theme. This server had over 50 people in the bar area during are visit so there was obviously a wait for service. The final disappointment at this place was when we went to cash out our tab. Throughout the evening we had to order and pickup our drinks at a window without any table service. Even the food had to be ordered at the window and a runner would bring it to the table. When was cashed out there was a "Service Charge of 20%" automatically added to our tab. WOW! So at a place where it was basically a self-serve type of establishment they charge a 20% service charge for self-service. This is ridiculous. I couldn't believe it. Likely this is our first and only visit to the Rooftop at Overland. Not an impressive visit. read more

It's not a great place to find oneself - a hotel airport lounge. But if you do, this provided a casual atmosphere, a good music performance and a chance to sit outdoors (weather permitting). The service was in need of some attention but I have that comment for the entire hotel staff. If you're here, go to the rooftop and have a drink. Just try not to find yourself at this hotel in the first place. That's my ultimate recommendation. read more

I had a business meeting at stage Roof Top, and the ambience was perfect. Not too loud , although we were sitting close to the bar. This place has very limited food offering menu, more of Tapas , overall is a great place for meetings, not wanting to be around College Park . read more

This place has great views of one runway at the hoppin' ATL airport! You constantly get to watch the hustle and bustle of air traffic. The service on the other hand, not much hustle and bustle. I asked for an extra minute to review the drink list. Instead I got almost ten extra minutes. That's a bummer. I almost walked out... Was able to finally order a beer, and eventually way too many minutes later I was able to find the server again and put in a food order. The short rib flatbread was very delicious! It is a tapas style lounge, so don't come prepared looking for a large entrees, you'll find that in the main floor restaurant. Overall, it's a great location - they just need to brush up on the service... Just like the hotel. read more

This newly discovered place is spectacular!!! It's definitely a change of pace with views of airlines coming and going to destinations many of wish we were going to.. At least we can enjoy a beautiful facility and restaurant while devouring a great meal!! This is a ideal place for an adventurous date out with hitting the Porsche track to show off your need for speed and finishing it off with a dining experience with amazing drinks. I love the views from the roof. Love to stargaze and watch the lights from the planes.

Amazing views, incredible jazz band and yummy drinks = heaven! I would say diner at the Apron 1st then grab drinks here. The food is nothing to write home about. read more

I need to start off by saying the only reason I checked out this place is because a friend of mine who works here has been begging me to come. I must say that I am quite disappointed. I am disappointed in myself for not coming sooner. As an in-town Atlanta resident I rarely venture outside of my immediate neighborhood (downtown/midtown/O4W), and even less do I venture south towards the airport and nearly OTP for food. I'm not sure what behooved me to fight my instincts but I am certainly glad I did. I was dining alone this evening and walked into the main dining room and took a seat at the bar. I was quickly greeted and asked what I'd like to drink. Then the manager greeted me and insisted I let him show me the roof top lounge. I took him up on the offer and up to the roof we went. So the furnishings, etc. are pretty standard for a hotel lounge. Obviously, a nice hotel, but a hotel nonetheless. There were nice cozy places to have a quiet and intimate night and also sort of larger communal zones where you could get a tad rowdy with friends, old and new, if that's the vibe you desire. What did stand out were the service and the view. You know that feeling when the big boss is in town and you have to be on your best behavior with big smiles and everything to perfection? That was the sense I got. Not in an annoying way, but just the ultimate service experience. The right amount of attention, the perfect amount of interaction, but just that underlying sense that they really wanted to do a good job (because their boss was watching and they would be fired). Now I don't know if the big boss was in town and whether or not the big boss was watching and getting ready to fire someone for a simple mistake; but regardless I benefited from whatever had everyone so friendly and accommodating, from the hostess to the server. Now the view. It was strangely breathtaking. I've traveled the world, and I'm not going to compare it to some sort of amazing UNESCO World Heritage site but it was a beautiful change from any other "view" in Atlanta. Obviously, there was the racetrack. Which as cool. I'm not particularly into car racing, the Porches were parked there, it's a standard racetrack I guess. You know. A circle of asphalt. You go around it. Then there was this big lush green field that bumped up against the airport runways. The lush field reminded me of a lodge I stayed at in Kenya. The only thing that would have upped their game is if they had a few giraffe, maybe a rhino... that also might be too much to ask. And then the constant air traffic. I've always been a sucker for landing and taking off airplanes. Made me feel like a kid. I tried to be the mature adult that I am and just brush it off; but I will admit, I was excited to capture an instagram worthy picture from up close as a plane was coming down for its landing. #planesarecool. Now on to what made the drive to the other side of the train tracks, so to speak, worth it. The FOOD! OMG, I can't describe it (but I'm going to anyway, as best as I can). I started off with the charcuterie. I'm not sure if they rotate their meats and cheeses, but the selection on my slate were of superb quality. Perfectly formed Burrata that just oozed that white creamy goo that I beg for (heads out of the gutter kids); fresh house pickled French pickles; the perfectly sized rolled up prosciutto with just the right balance of fat, meat, salty brine flavor, and you know your other charcuterie basics. Basically, it was fantastically fresh and high quality. Yes, it was huge and probably meant to share amongst 4 or so people, but I'm a fatty and I ate the whole thing. #don'tjudgeme. For dinner I had their Berbere crusted lamb loin with a Moroccan inspired farro. Whenever I order lamb at a nice restaurant I'm afraid that the portion is going to leave me hungry and unsatisfied. I can definitely attest that this was not the case, despite the fact that I had the antipasto, the size of the lamb loin was significant. The Berbere rub was certainly dialed down for the Western pallet, but it was superbly balanced to give me that distinct punch of flavor that only a good Berbere could give. If I had been the only one at the restaurant I probably would have sat there and licked the lamb loin. Alas, I was behaving myself so I did not lick it, but it is lick worthy delicious. The farro had a seriously developed flavor, like it had been cooked in a tagine that had been in the family for generations holding on to the residual flavors of the last thing cooked in there just developing the flavors deeper and deeper each time it's put to use. Not overdone, not underdone. Went fantastic with the lamb, just really good. I must say that I will be back. More people should go, in-town restaurants or overrated. This little jewel is a diamond in the rough. Solis needs to do absolutely NOTHING differently, service, food, ambiance, everything is great. read more

I booked a stay at this hotel in large part because of the marketing that featured The Rooftop, including highlighting that it's open daily. I was disappointed to discover that it did not open at all while I was there and that several tables still held empty glasses from whenever it last opened. The runway view is great. read more

This was my 1st time here and the view is AMAZING!!! Wondering View if the Porsche experience and relaxing to see the planes take off. Loved the atmosphere. We didn't like the the lounge menu so much,however the mood was perfect on the rooftop. There was another group sitting next to us and we all joined in for conversation. This table had a dinner menu that we didn't know existed. I asked our server why didn't she offer this menu to us and she stated that WE HAD to request the dinner menu. I don't understand this method of customer service and was a little upset that I could have ordered Lamb or Steak. I think that the servers should offer all menus to the customers and not just the appetizer menu with 7 non-appealing items to chose from....for that I will give 3 stars. Met an old friend and my sister for happy hour here yesterday. The service and food was superb - we ordered salmon sliders, hummus, and chicken pizza - everyone was happy. Prices were very reasonable. There was a live jazz singer on the rooftop. The view from the rooftop was breathtaking...in one direction you can see Porsche track where there were race car drivers practicing...in the other direction there are planes landing and taking off. My only slight complaint was that it is hot in July in Atlanta in the early evening when we first arrived but as the evening wore on, the breeze started blowing and it really cooled off and the atmosphere was great. Nice mixed, sophisticated crowd...I highly recommend it for drinks or a get together with friends. read more
