I had an awesome blackened fish sandwich while everyone else had fish and chips. The food was delicious! Only negative was that the power went out. The staff handled it without missing a beat! They let those who were still dining and drinking stay. They let later reservations know that they wouldn't be able to seat them tonight because of it. We would definitely return and have a meal there.

On this visit we enjoyed the Anchor several times during our stay, for dinner, as well as a couple of happy hours. The front was very welcoming every time we went, when we reserved a table our server, Madison was friendly, knowledgeable, and even humored us by singing Happy Birthday to my wife in Spanish (with company lol). Other visits we ate at the bar and Andrea always kept our drinks and the conversation flowing - it was very enjoyable every time. Regardless of eating at a table or at the bar, the food was delicious every time. Over the course of four visits we had scallops, haddock, halibut and a pork chop - all prepared deliciously with nice presentation. My personal favorite was the grilled romaine salad which I three of four times - so good! We have eaten at the Anchor in the past and thought it was ok, but this season it really seemed together. Even when the restaurant was busy (happy hour) service was equal to the task and seemed to keep everyone happy and the quality of food and speed of service was excellent. I recommend you try this place (or try it again) if you are looking for something more upscale than a lobster on the dock and don't want to drive into town. Nice people and delicious food - thank you.

Tourist/Beach spots can be difficult - but I'd have to say we lucked out…read more It was time for a couple of us to have some east coast seafood, but we also heard the chef at this spot is known for the risotto. 1 in our party had the lobster, but, lobster is wasted on me. One had the fish and chips. Up this way they use haddock. Don't know why we don't in Charleston, that was some oh-so-delicious fish!!!! I'd been dying for some 'Boston' clam chowder. This chowder definitely fits the bill. Tasty, salty (in an appropriate way) thick, hot, and stuffed with some delicious clams. I also decided on the risotto, just the 4 cheese, no protein. This was creamy and so full of flavor, 6 days later I'm still thinking about it. We sat on the rooftop, enjoyed some fine weather, a great meal, and lovely wine. Couldn't have been a more perfect lunch!

The fish tacos are so delicious and they have a lot of fun cocktails to choose from. I come here every summer! Perfect for a date night or night out with the entire family. Servers are very friendly. It has a laid-back yet upscale vibe. I've also come during the daytime for lunch. You can come via boat. I believe it's the same lunch and dinner menu but again everything is soo good. Their Linekin Bay Smash (rum punch) is a must!

Best pizza I've had in Maine…read more Great atmosphere, the food is amazing and the service was great. I opted to go here for my birthday this year. I had heard good things. I was immediately interested when I read the menu. The names of the pizzas are very cool, if you know who they are. The atmosphere is casual and eclectic. It kinda feels like a band could walk through the door at any moment and ask where they could set up. It is a little limited on seating and you should be willing to get cozy and share a table with others. We ordered a couple of the Drexel Spivey pizzas. Deep dish with pepperoni. Super ingredients and top quality. I do wish the pepperoni had been able to get more fire, but that's the style of pizza. I'll get a regular pepperoni the next trip. For the deep dish, it was cooked and then came out for application of what seemed to be an entire pound of mozzarella. After a few moments back under the heat, it was pulled and Romano Or Parmesan was added and returned to the heat. The cheese was boiling when it came out. Amazing. Their sauce is simple and clean. Not bitter or too acidic at all. Another home run. This is now a regular. It's easy to get to and has parking on the side of the building. It's in an amazing location, but could be a challenge to access during the tourist season. A solid choice for great pizza.

Unfortunately, not this time. I started with Westpoint oysters which were superb, maybe my best raw oysters ever. I usually then order the sprouts but decided to go back to a previous favorite of mine from my dinners there in '22 and '23, the mussels, which had been served then with some epic sourdough toast which made them a 5-star because you could sop up the delicious broth and still have a delightful crunch. Unfortunately they now only are served with some sourdough bread discs, which just get saturated and soggy. Not at all the same experience. Most of that wonderful broth was wasted. Then, the lobster risotto, which had always been scrumptious. Unfortunately, the chefs got heavy-handed with the cheese in the risotto so that the taste of the sweet lobster chunks was overpowered rather than complimented as it was in every previous year. I spoke with Shane, their very personable and capable manager about the mussels(or clams) and lack of toast so hopefully that will change by next year when I return. It's still a great restaurant with a wonderful view of the Sheepscot River, a destination experience.

I was already in a foul mood, walking in here set me into straight sensory overload. It's a bar where they sing. I am unable to get inebriated enough to enjoy bars where they sing any longer. Call me miserable, maybe I suppose. In addition to the merry old fella belting it out on the mic, we had the joy of having some drunk guy in a large group behind us try and out sing him without a microphone. He even challenged the old guy singing to a form of a duel. Anyway I was so off, I cannot remember anything about my server at all. Nothing. I do remember almost screaming and running out. I sat there trying not to lose it while my wife had the time of her life. Every song made it worse, everyone else is singing, I am dying. When the guy took a break, guess what, dickhead from the crowd goes up and takes over. Shots helped at this point and the weed is kicking in well at this point. Now I'm hungry... My food was inedible and I'm pretty sure incomplete as well. The worst flatbread in the history of flatbreads. C's looked pretty good actually so I am sure her experience was quite different than mine. I hope to never return. '25 - extra
